Stopped by to pick it up and was impressed to see the beautiful patio area they have, I'd like to come back on a nice day and try some different menu items. My wife and I decided to try Epicure Pizzeria for lunch today 5/11/2024 and so glad we did. Not sure about the old reviews but our lunch order was amazing. The owner/manager Billy quickly welcomed us and provided menus. We ordered the Chicken and the Philly Cheesesteak wraps with onion rings. Wow ! They were absolutely delicious and they came with a nice size portion too. We even tried their pizza which we both thought tasted superb. The pizza slice had a nice thin crust just how we like them. Billy was very gracious and accommodating with us and we really appreciated that kind of service. Epicure has a nice outdoor table set up too. We definitely plan to go back but this time we'll bring friends to join us. Oh by the way, the bathroom for a pizzeria, was nice and clean and they have plenty of parking. Nice place. Stopped in for slices. Had two. It's not New Haven style but it was very good. A nice thin ish crust , tasty sauce and perfect temperature when it hit the table. Would definitely go back to try a pizza with toppings and an entree or two. read more

Have now gotten delivery from here a few times. Each time the service was prompt, the driver was friendly and the Pizza was pretty good. Obviously when you get delivery its not going to be as good as pickup or eating it there. The steam in the box takes away from it. I've driven by Epicure Pizza for years, and finally getting to go I was so surprised. First, it's only half the building. There's a coffee shop on the far end. There is outdoor seating facing the road, and about four booths inside. They seem to have their own delivery driver who kept popping in and out. It was a little dark, so the table by the window was best. Drinks are available from the cooler, and yay, they are a Coca Cola establishment! I was expecting a standard Italian menu, but it turned out to be fun! We chose splitting Pink Panther (penne Alla vodka) pizza and loaded mashed potato pizza. I did have to eat some of the noodles on the Pink Panther with a fork, but the remaining noodles, sauce and pizza crust were so good together! The loaded mashed potato had a delicious layer of mashed potatoes under the cheese, it makes me hungry just thinking about it! It was a slow day inside, so the waiters were very relaxed and didn't apply pressure for us to hurry up and go, they let us sit and enjoy our food. read more

I've done takeout orders from Epicure Pizza & Grill a handful of times since the pandemic started. Like another fellow Yelper stated in his review, this establishment seems to be "Hit or Miss". Wings are decent, and the Chicken Wrap I ordered another time was very tasty, I enjoyed it a lot. But on my last visit, I had a Chicken Parm grinder. They used the same type of chicken strips in the grinder that they did in the wrap instead of full patties. That works fine for a wrap, not a grinder, I mostly tasted the big glob of greasy cheese on the sandwich. Would they use the same type of cut chicken strips for a chicken parm dinner also ? I suspect they would. Also, another time I ordered a Chef Salad. The salad I received came carrots and red cabbage. That's a not a Chef Salad, seems like they gave me "whatever" that day. Careless. And finally the pizza. Only tried a slice, but I was not impressed. NY Style, very bland & boring. Granted, it was only a slice and not a whole pizza, but I can't imagine their pizza being any good. All in all, Epicure is does some things well, I recommend the wraps & wings, but there are better choices for pizza in Thomaston. read more

On the way home from CT to upstate NY and hungry....with this being the last town until Millerton NY. We made a quick stop...asked for slices and were told .50cent per topping. I wouldn't even give one star about our "sausage" calzone. I cut it to serve me and my husband and when I cut it the "sausage" was a light light grey color and looked like hamburger to me. So I took a bite of just the "sausage" and it literally tastes like hamburger. My husband tried it and also said it tastes like hamburger. So I call epicure and ask them if they put hamburger by accident and he says let me ask the chef. He comes back on and says nope, it's sausage. I said it doesn't taste like it. I then I asked if they use sweet sausage or spicy sausage and he said just ground up sausage. I said it doesn't taste like it. And are you sure. He said yes I'm sure. Then he says what can I do to make you happy? I said can you maybe just make me one with the extra ricotta and red peppers and onions instead and he just laughed and said no I can't do that. I can give you a three dollar credit but I can't make you a new one. He said next time I recommend just not getting sausage. I said there won't be a next time since this was my first time and now last and hung up. It literally has the taste of greasy ground hamburger that's cooked and not yet stained of the extra fat. I'm so annoyed that they don't care about their customers and try to go and say "we've never had a complaint before and it's been consistent" - 30.00 for a crap calzone that was made crappy and I was told it's because I got a lot of stuff inside it. What has this world come to where people don't care about the money you spend with them and care more about themselves and looking good and sounding good? This is my go to delivery place. I just moved here a year ago from another city and epicure is amazing. I always get their Philly cheesesteak wrap and their fries are really good. I usually sub out the fries for chicken and rice soup. The chicken marsala is also one of the best I've ever had. The only complaint I would say is that it spills everywhere when being delivered, and is a huge inconvenience when bringing it inside the house. I would order it more often if it was in a better container. I'm also very surprised by the small portion of cake I got for $4.50. I absolutely love the food and will keep ordering. I got the chicken Cobb wrap the other day and it was one of the best wraps I've ever had in my life! read more

My husband and I went to Epicure on the suggestion of many local friends. We split a large calzone which was more than enough for two people. The crust was light & crispy & there was just the right mixture of mozzarella and ricotta cheese. Hands down the best calzone we've had in a very long time. They had inside and outside dining. "Mint in Pasta Fagioli?" My friend has a garage not to far from Epicure so we met there for lunch. Epicure is very small and has a nice brick wall that separates the dining room from the kitchen. They also have a patio for dining in the warmer months. My friend ordered a cheeseburger and fries. I ordered a pasta fagioli and an eggplant parm sandwich which was also served with fries. My friend liked his burger and fries but said that their steak sandwich is excellent. My eggplant parm sandwich was ok. It was chewy and difficult eat. Cutting eggplant lengthwise always makes it chewy. The preparation of the eggplant made it quite obvious that an Italian did not make the sandwich. But what really sealed the deal on that thought was the soup I had before the sandwich. The pasta fagioli had fresh mint sprinkled on top of the soup. This is unusual for a pasta fagioli. The soup itself had a thin broth unlike most authentic italian pasta fagiolis have a thicker consistency closer to a chowder. Now I did enjoy the taste for what it was. I liked the fresh taste of the mint. Even though it had most of the ingredients of the pasta fagioli, I wouldn't call it a pasta fagioli. Or as they wrote it in the menu, "Pasta Fazool". As we were leaving we thanked our waiter. He was standing next to a man who appeared to be the owner of the restaurant. Our waiter thanked us but the man next to him said nothing. If you're standing behind the counter it is good practice to greet every guest and say goodbye to them as well or you won't have that restaurant for very long. read more

Ordered from Epicure Pizza last night and had Grubhub deliver it. The food was running late. Nearly twenty minutes late but it did arrive which is what mattered the most. I did get a call before hand from the restaurant letting me know which I appreciated. The food arrived warm. Not hot. Which is understandable considering the distance but also the driver seemed to not really care about anything. So who knows how his food handling was. Not taking off from the review at all for this. The order consisted of the Cheeseburger Pizza. Cheeseburger Fries, Philly Steak, Mozz Sticks, Chicken Parm Grinder and a bottle of soda. Cheeseburger fries were excellent. Five stars all day long and then back to bed. Starting off we have the Chicken Parm Grinder... where you at? Someone forgot the Chicken Park Grinder... No matter. I called Epicure and the person who picked up the phone apologized and offered to have someone make one and run it out to me. Or they could refund it. So I had them refund it and promptly got an email confirming it. Good customer service although what happened to it? Little disappointed. Mozz sticks were just ok. I probably wouldn't order them again. Not much flavor in the batter and seemed a little under cooked. Philly Steak Grinder was decent. Had a good amount of meat and cheese. Peppers and onions were there in a nice amount as well. Overall, a tasty grinder but not amazing. The Cheeseburger Pizza... oh dear. This was pretty gross to me. Hamburger meat, pickles, onions and what I think was thousand island dressing as the sauce and I don't know what cheese was on it. Didn't taste like Mozz. Possibly American Cheese? Either way, the flavors didn't agree with me. The crust on the pizza was fairly lack luster. Very little flavor at all but was cook perfectly. Lastly, the soda was cold and not expired which was a treat. Ordering through Grubhub I typically get expired soda.... not this time. Overall I'd say Epicure is a simple three star establishment based on my experience alone. Would I order from them again? Yes I would as there are other things on the menu I'd like to try and like I said, service was good which I appreciated. read more

Sat down and ordered a large Buffalo chicken pizza, the waitress did not pay any attention to my table but merely sat on the computer. When the pizza came out it was like a ticking time bomb of ranch exploded on my pizza (never asked for ranch or anything besides Buffalo chicken on my pizza) and they claimed that the bottle had spilled on my pie... If a bottle of something that was never asked for on the pizza spilled 75% of the bottle, why serve it instead of making a new one. The sandwich, which cost me almost $20 with pre-paid tip & $6.99 delivery fee was awful. Strips of chicken w/a tablespoon of sauce & pinch of cheese on a stale hard roll does not make for a chicken Parmesan roll. The fries that came with it were so soggy I just threw them out.
