Chicken salad sandwich: giant pieces of onion

Called and asked if they had rye bread I'm 99% sure this is not rye bread. The onion pieces are really large and there's also so much of it. Chicken salad itself is bland.

Wallingford has so many chain restaurants and this place is adding more variety to this town! Upon entering, the seating area was 75% filled! I saw some yummy fries come out of the kitchen area and they looked really good! The service was very quick and the customer service was awesome! The drink selection is great as well! The menu was a little overwhelming to look at since it was done with chalk. I wish there were a deal for a half sandwich and half salad because I would go here more often! I loved the sandwich I got. I am a sucker for cranberry Mayo. The salad had great flavor, except for the grape tomatoes being in it. I have never had a strawberry salad with tomatoes-- it just didn't blend well with the other ingredients. I ordered it as a takeout and there wasn't much seating or a waiting area. I am looking forward to trying more food from here. I will update this review as I try more :) Keep it up, It's A Wrap!

Recently opened Thanksgiving time, I happened to see their banner as I pulled into Shop Rite plaza. This place is across the street next to a great watch/timekeeper repair shop. In same plaza as Funju. Greeted very warmly upon entering, it's very bright and clean with easy to read menu boards, aside from a paper menu. Two TVs adorn the walls should you decide to eat in. They have a "coffee bar", small selection of refrigerated drinks and a few types of chips as help yourself areas. The kitchen is open to view. I decided to order when I saw they had a vegetarian selection, #10, a take on a caprese sandwich with added roasted peppers and sautéed onions. I got it in a grinder roll, but they typically offer it in a wrap (of course!). About 5 minutes after ordering, the kitchen asked if I wanted one of the many sauces. At their suggestion I got the garlic aioli. I got it as take out. As you'll see in the picture, it's a generous sandwich. It was very good and nice to have something a little different from a sandwich shop. (A few more vegetarian/vegan selections would be nice too, especially with so many industrial vegan proteins available these days.). It was a bit messy to eat with the added garlic aioli. While it tastes good, the aioli was too loose. Frankly, there would've been enough flavor without the addition of any sauce/topping. And a wrap would've been easier to eat (my fault)! Seeing they had chocolate chip cookies and that they bake them there, I had to try them. I'm not sure if fresh or baked from frozen, but they were pretty good. A pinch of salt would make them much better. It nice to have another choice of sandwich and I'll definitely order #10 again when back in the area. They also serve breakfast all day and have a special buy one get one on Tuesdays. I've posted all of the menus.

We went to "That's A Wrap" today for lunch and had a wonderful experience! The Cafe is movie themed, including decor and the names of their signature wraps, along with movies playing on multiple screens visible from all of the seating areas. We ordered the "Silence of the Lambs" wrap (gyro, lettuce tomato, onion, feta and tzatziki sauce), Grilled Chicken Panini (grilled chicken, bacon, spinach and Chipotle mayo), and Chicken and Waffles with side orders of fries and onion rings (both HEAPING portions that I barely got pictures of!) The portions are perfect, the flavors of each of the dishes were amazing and we all left very full and happy! The Cafe was very busy with lunch time guests for both dine in and take out. There is plenty of seating and high chairs for little ones. The staff are very friendly, helpful with menu suggestions and accommodating with children as well! We're so glad we finally had the opportunity to visit and we cannot wait to go back to try more of their menu!

Craving a beef on weck, all suggested Vinny's Deli in Wallingford Ct…read more A Beef on Weck is a sandwich consisting of thinly sliced, rare roast beef, some horseradish sauce, a little au jus, served on a warmed and toasted bun, topped with caraway seeds amongst other spices. This is a sandwich that originated in Buffalo, New York, that I had the honor of eating on a regular basis when I worked in Buffalo. When this sandwich is prepared correctly, not too many types of sandwiches can top this. So expectations were high going to Vinny's Deli. And there it was on the menu, the all nighter # 54, in its glory, the beef on weck. The order was placed for two of them, as my friend Rick joined me for lunch. He never had one and was really looking forward to what he exactly was getting into. I also ordered storemade potato salad, and one of those famous oatmeal raisin cookies. I also had a lime ricky soda, and my friend had a root beer. These sodas were specially made for Vinny's and were presented so well. The total for this order of two sandwiches potato salad cookie and two sodas came to $38. I left a 15% tip. The food arrived, and let me tell you this beef on weck was simply amazing. Warm sliced roast beef that just melted in my mouth and pulled apart so easy, accompanied by just the right amount of horseradish sauce, on a slightly toasted and warmed bun. This was perfection. This was love. The potato salad which was store made also was delicious, and I liked it because it didn't have onions in it. This was on point. The two made for a store sodas were absolutely delicious. I loved that lime ricky, as it was a great choice. Now for the co-star... you must get the oatmeal raisin cookie for dessert. This was probably the best cookie of this nature I've ever had; so soft, so delicious, so made with love. Located on Center Street in Wallingford, Vinny's is easy to find, and parking is a breeze Seating is extremely limited. I think there were only four or five tables in there. Most were in there just to get the food and run, also known as takeout. This is a can't miss for sandwiches. I saw they had extensive other choices, but come for the star, the roast beef. I really enjoyed my visit here, it was local, the vibe was really cool and friendly, and the place was really clean. I noticed an ice cream store attached, which looked very inviting. I think I would stop there after having lunch here next time. Thanks to Vinny's, I really enjoyed my visit and I look forward to returning again in the near future. This was quite a haul coming from northern Connecticut down to Wallingford, but was worth every mile. I drove home with a smile on my face.

Originally called "Antonio's Pizzeria" (and then later "Antonio's Sub Shop & Pizzeria"), the establishment has been located at a few different spots on Washington Avenue throughout the years. They have been located at their current address at 528 Washington Avenue for approximately 15 years. The menu consists of a variety of Italian-American staples including chicken entrees, eggplant entrees, seafood entrees, pasta dishes, pizza, soups, salads, appetizers, panini and focaccia sandwiches, subs and wraps. The current owner is Kristjan Lulaj. My family and I recently ordered pizza from Antonio's. We were hosting a birthday party for our younger son and thought that everyone would want pizza. After shopping around, we found that Antonio's had some VERY decent prices. I'm ashamed to admit it, but I've lived in North Haven for my whole life and I never ordered from them. We ordered 4 extra larges: a "Mozzarella", a "Margherita" (fresh homemade mozzarella, tomato sauce, olive oil and fresh basil), a "Chicken Cutlet Bruschetta" (chicken cutlet topped with bruschetta tomatoes & mozzarella cheese), and a "Vodka Pizza" (square pie topped with vodka sauce and mozzarella cheese). When I arrived to pick up the pizzas, the whole restaurant smelled amazing. I saw one of the staff making some stuffed breads in the kitchen. When I got home, the pizzas looked and tasted great. They were a big hit with the party. I can't believe that it took me so long to finally order from Antonios. They make great quality Italian food for very reasonable prices. We'll definitely be back!

Service was OK. I think because I tipped at the time of the order the food was brought to the table. The woman was on the phone when we got there, so we waited a little but it was ok. It was all just ok. The pizza we ordered was burnt and not the good kind of char you expect from a brick oven (and as someone who loves Pepe's, I hope I know the difference). Still, we ate it because we had already paid, and we didn't have time to go anywhere else. The salad was just okay, though I will say the ranch dressing tasted homemade, which was a nice touch. The bacon was stale The biggest downside was the cleanliness. The restaurant was dusty and dirty. There was a steady stream of people coming in and out for takeout orders the whole time we were there, which makes me wonder if our experience was just a fluke, or if the regulars simply like it that way. As we were leaving, my son turned to me and said, "Mom, I thought you picked the place with the best pizza." I laughed because he was right, this time, the reviews were wrong, for us at least. Would I order again? Probably not. But the atmosphere and steady business made me curious enough to maybe give it another shot, just with very lower expectations. And for take out.
