Large iced rainbow italian cookie coffee
    Danielle P.

Excellent food, service, and a cute spot to boot! I've been waiting to try this restaurant for some time and finally my husband and I had the opportunity to do so. The restaurant is on the smaller size, and it seems to stay busy at all times. We went at around 1pm on a Sunday and there were a few tables open. I was excited to try one of their specialty coffees and boy was it worth it! I ordered an iced italian rainbow cookie coffee, which was out of this world good! For our meals, my husband ordered the short stack of pancakes with a side of bacon, while I got the catch a red eye with waffles. Please note, Sunday's only breakfast is served. Both of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals!, tasty to the last bite. We hope to return during the week to try the lunch menu next time. We shall return again soon!

Bee Knees holds a special place in my heart! This Women owned business is more than just a breakfast/lunch spot on Center street - it's a place for community, comfort, and to share an amazing meal. The carpenter bee sandwich is always my go to, the beef is tender and juicy, they pile on a ton of cheese, the aioli is flavorful, and the bread hits the spot every time. they have a phenomenal pasta salad and caesar salad, and you can't go wrong with any of their menu items. We are a fan of their lattes and matcha, and especially their cookies! Every time someone comes to this area, I'm always recommending this place first!

Outstanding Bistro! The food is absolutely amazing. Fresh, tasty, and looks absolutely yummy. I was recently on a trip with my disgusted and we discovered this place and went 4 times in 3 days. Breakfast, lunch, brunch, it's all amazing! The coffee is also spectacular. The Bumble is a must! A unreal breakfast sandwich with shaved steak! The food is so fresh it's great! My daughter raved about the strawberry fields forever salad, I tried a bite and it is worth raving about! If your around go and eat there you will not regret it!

Early Sunday morning breakfast at Bees Knees is the best! Did you know that Sundays they have breakfast all day?! Yess they do!! Today I had a special which was the Hearty Bees Breakfast Bowl! Soo good! Different than I what I would normally order. But I wanted something healthier and different. This had chicken sausage, an egg, peppers, and sweet potato hash with maple aioli sauce. Soo good! They offer a great variety of lattes/ coffees and drinks ! Love the seasonal drinks! Delicious place to dine wether is breakfast or lunch that you are going in for! Everything is fresh! It does get busy so get ready to wait! We went very early so it was perfect. The restaurant isnt very big and everyone is very nice!

My husband and I come here far too often. The coffee is some of the best coffee I've ever had. Not only the amazing cold foam, but the coffee beans they use are top notch. The food is just as good. They often have specials, which we've loved. The sweet potato fries are a must try. The owner, Jena, is awesome. I'm looking forward to what she creates for the fall menu!

The food was good, but nothing extraordinary. We had to wait quite a while, but I understand they were very busy. The blueberry matcha wasn't my favorite. The service was good and the host was super nice .

Didn't have time to sit down, but wanted to run in and try some of the goodies at bees knees. The space was on the smaller side, but well laid out. It was packed full of breakfast goers on Saturday morning. We left with the salted caramel cheesecake, latte, and the apple chaider (topped off with a cookie). Both drinks were delicious and we look forward to finding an opportunity to go sit in for breakfast as well. Will definitely update on our next visit, but five stars!

Food is nothing special. Hash browns can be found in the frozen aisle at any grocery store, they just deep fried them and burnt them and they're super greasy. Eggs were cold. Waffles were cold. Syrup they provide is super runny. Chocolate croissant was literally missing chocolate but was a special. Fried chicken was overcooked and burnt, resulting in VERY dry chicken to the point it was inedible and the entire meal with cold eggs had to be sent back. However, they did put gold on the fried chicken to possibly distract us at how awfully overcooked and under seasoned they were. Haha! We could've made a better breakfast at home but my friends and I wanted to try a cute spot this morning. Latte was lukewarm and mediocre. Our server was Faith. I always find that the server is a huge part of a diner's experience. She lacked enthusiasm and positivity. She rarely checked in on us and seemed like she was avoiding us. Honestly, her attitude put a damper on our experience and set the worse tone for our day. She didn't even bring out our food because another server had to and it was chaotic. That's probably a huge reason why the food was cold. Debbie Downer decided to include a 20% gratuity on our check, probably because one person sent her food back. Funny thing is, one of my friends had been here over the summer and gratuity wasn't included but they "reserve the right to add 20% gratuity " per their menu in tiny font. We are NOT people who would not tip. Even my friend that sent her food back and didn't eat pulled cash out to tip her. The ambiance is very quaint and cute with bee decor. Coming from a beekeeper's wife, it was adorable. Great decor, awful, overpriced food and service. I don't recommend this establishment and I won't return.

You visit a breakfast and lunch restaurant that's been on your Try List, and you're seated five minutes before they switch from the Breakfast to Lunch Menu. Do you make a snap breakfast order? Or do you wait for the lunch menu? What do you do? I was unnecessarily anxious about that decision because it seemed like the Bees Knees Crew would have hooked me up either way. But I decided on the Carpenter Bee sandwich. Lean, tender shaved steak. Sharp melted American. Grilled peppers and onions. Tomato Jam. Garlic aioli. All on a fresh artisan ciabatta roll. The Carpenter Bee was a tasty high end sandwich. If anything, it could have used a bit more beef fat for flavor. I really respected the side pasta salad. Had its own vibe. It was made with short, thick pasta tubes. Creamy sort of mayo sauce. Small pieces of veggies. This pasta salad was a couple steps up from the norm, and I appreciated the attention to the details. I also ordered cold brew topped with a house Strawberry Cold Foam. It was terrific. It arrived in a fun glass shaped like stacked inter tubes And the strawberry cold foam was thick, delicious and luscious. The bistro was low key cute. Like a larger, neater, more organized Luke's Diner. Service was terrific. I've seen first hand why Yelpers and food industry pros alike, love The Bees Knees Bistro. 4.5 Stars

The drinks were tasty and beautifully presented. Unfortunately, the service was mediocre, as it took 29 minutes after ordering for our food to arrive. The one star, however, is not solely for the service or the food--which would have earned a better rating--but for the small, fine print stating that the restaurant "reserves the right to add a 20% gratuity." This is the first time I've encountered this in Connecticut. In my view, great service should be a given in any hospitality business, and when service exceeds expectations, a tip is warranted--but the amount should be left to the discretion of the patrons. Breakfast for four came with an added $12+ in gratuity for what was simply average service. Not recommended. For an example of exceptional service, please see Amanda at J. Gilbert's.

Our server was super sweet and told us her favorite menu items. The snickerdoodle latte was great! I had the pancakes with strawberries, bananas and chocolate chips. My sister had the waffle and the peck. Also pictured is the Herbivore and the special parfait of the day. The decor and ambiance are very family friendly, the bakery is perfect for a quick bite and the coffee menu is exceptional.

This is about to become a regular spot! Had a fabulous lunch at this adorable, busy little cafe. Servers were friendly and accommodating. Food was outstanding. Overall lovely experience!

Such a gem of a place!! If you're looking for a cute cafe with wifi, yummy food and delicious drinks this is the place to go! Plus everything is so aesthetic. Our server was the sweetest and she was also so funny. My friend and I decided to try their two popular dishes: carpenter bee and what the falafel. Both were super tasty and honestly very filling! Each sandwich also comes with a side of yummy pasta salad! I also got one of their speciality drinks which I would recommend! Plus their drinks come in super cute cups. Definitely a brunch spot for the girlies.

My sister enjoyed her angel hair and Alfredo sauce as well as they both enjoyed the soup. Super salad comes with your dinner and as you can see, the soup was very large. My husband had a house salad, and he added blackened shrimp, which came with a good amount of shrimp, avocado, raisins, and almonds. He liked the salad very much. I ordered a special the gnocchi with marinara sauce, and burrata . Overall, the sauce was very good, but I disliked how much sauce was given. For me, I felt like it was too much sauce and my pasta was swimming in it. I would request less sauce the next time I go. Overall, the price was not bad at all. We all enjoy our meal and every single one of us brought food home. Oh, on the sidenote, a good amount of their soups are made vegetarian. Since they are known for their roast beef, I went with the "All Nighter" and had them prep it just the way it's listed. This was an excellent sandwich! The roast beef had a really good flavor to it. They have a neat sign in the deli that shows additives other roast beef has and how their's is just beef. And that flavor really stands out. Also, they do a ton of work for local organizations; from nonprofits, animal shelter local schools and sports. They also employ a good amount of people from the community. This is a sandwich that originated in Buffalo, New York, that I had the honor of eating on a regular basis when I worked in Buffalo. When this sandwich is prepared correctly, not too many types of sandwiches can top this. So expectations were high going to Vinny's Deli. And there it was on the menu, the all nighter # 54, in its glory, the beef on weck. The order was placed for two of them, as my friend Rick joined me for lunch. He never had one and was really looking forward to what he exactly was getting into. I also ordered storemade potato salad, and one of those famous oatmeal raisin cookies. I also had a lime ricky soda, and my friend had a root beer. These sodas were specially made for Vinny's and were presented so well. The total for this order of two sandwiches potato salad cookie and two sodas came to $38. I left a 15% tip. The food arrived, and let me tell you this beef on weck was simply amazing. Warm sliced roast beef that just melted in my mouth and pulled apart so easy, accompanied by just the right amount of horseradish sauce, on a slightly toasted and warmed bun. This was perfection. This was love. The potato salad which was store made also was delicious, and I liked it because it didn't have onions in it. This was on point. The two made for a store sodas were absolutely delicious. I loved that lime ricky, as it was a great choice. Now for the co-star... you must get the oatmeal raisin cookie for dessert. This was probably the best cookie of this nature I've ever had; so soft, so delicious, so made with love. Located on Center Street in Wallingford, Vinny's is easy to find, and parking is a breeze Seating is extremely limited. I think there were only four or five tables in there. Most were in there just to get the food and run, also known as takeout. This is a can't miss for sandwiches. I saw they had extensive other choices, but come for the star, the roast beef. I really enjoyed my visit here, it was local, the vibe was really cool and friendly, and the place was really clean. I noticed an ice cream store attached, which looked very inviting. I think I would stop there after having lunch here next time. Thanks to Vinny's, I really enjoyed my visit and I look forward to returning again in the near future. This was quite a haul coming from northern Connecticut down to Wallingford, but was worth every mile. I drove home with a smile on my face.
