Eventually the Gliddens decided to open their own bar and chose the name "Bones & Botanicals" in reference to the spooky witch theme as well as the fact that they use botanicals in their drinks. The menu consists of craft cocktails, craft mocktails, herbal teas, local craft beer & cider, and light food options. Everything on the menu is made from locally-sourced ingredients. In addition to year-round offerings, the menu features new seasonal specials each month. The Gliddens opened a second speakeasy, The Gilded Curtain, down the street in August 2024. I recently visited Bones & Botanicals for the first time. I've been meaning to visit for a while, and I made a point to visit for the beginning of the Halloween season. You need a secret 4-digit passcode to get inside, which is updated weekly and posted on their social media accounts. I totally loved the vibe of the place with all of the witch decor (very reminiscent of "Hocus Pocus" or the "Harry Potter" franchise). There's lots of shelves filled with all sorts of books, broomsticks, crystals, and jars filled with herbs. I even loved all of the smells.
