One of the people in our group really wanted to have this restaurant for takeout, so we all agreed to it. I was struggling with the menu as I couldn't find any reviews or mentions of gluten free even though when we called they assured us of the items I'd be able to eat. So we ordered everything vegan and gluten free. We got fried rice, noodles, broccoli, spring rolls, and (not gf) general tsos tofu. Apparently also in the bag were crab Rangoons. The non vegan/gf people loved these. However, at Asian restaurant, gf means you don't get any sauce. So the rice and noodles were kind of like steamed rice and veggies. They also added gluten free soy sauce packets, which begs the question, why can't they do a regular fried rice? I opted not to try the spring rolls since they were probably in a shared fryer. The food was okay, honestly I think the best thing was probably the crab Rangoons. Maybe a good place without allergies, but not a great selection without! read more

Nothing but excellent things to say. We have been going to other restaurants for take out Thai and Chinese food since moving to Middletown and we will never go anywhere else after today. We were so overjoyed with our experience. Ordering online was simple and quick. Pick-up was fast and efficient. Everything was correct and noted specific order requests. Pricing was more than fair. Portion sizes were outstanding and flavor was exceptional. We were thrilled that there was not as much grease as we are used to in our food. Everything was hot and well cooked. Fresh ingredients, well-prepared and vegetables were cooked just right. I liked the tofu and vegetables entree I ordered recently. Food is prepared spicy by default. Ask for mild or no seasoning if you have a sensitive palate. I will definitely come back to Asian Restaurant again. read more

Okay. Time to review this place :-) name can be deceiving and fall through the cracks of google or yelps algorithms due to very obvious name. Name aside how is the food? I have ordered the following: - Crab Rangoon - Japanese fried pork dumplings - Mongolian Beef Crab Rangoon was fantastic! Shaped very lovely, dough crispy and chewy (but not soggy) with the right amount of filling. For a moment I thought I was eating a nice breakfast pastry. Size of the each piece was also correct. Especially if you like to dip in the included sauce. Other places try to over complicate things. Often I see scone shaped massive Rangoon's to big to dip in the tiny container with sauce - plus one for Asian Restaurant Japanese fried pork dumplings were very nice too! I often skip the sauce here as I like to deconstruct flavors and what's going on in there. Very flavorful and not too salty. Another point for AR. Mongolian Beef - there is many schools on how it should be prepared or served. While I'm the most familiar with sautéed version where there is a little sauce, plenty of spring onions and char/crunch on the beef you won't find it here. Meat was cooked in the flavorful broth (not too salty which is a plus if you want to actually taste the components like meat), with a large number or caramelized onions and very little to none of "the green stuff". I would like this place to offer Mongolian Beef both ways: 1) the way it was served here, where it felt more cooked in its own sauce like a stew/goulash 2) once cooked beef could return to the empty wok pan for char and crispy edges to introduce some texture. And yes, a lot more of spring onions please. Overall good attempt and I'll be revisiting within next few months. Attaching few pictures as well. While packaging was secure I like to remove things from their containers for a richer experience. So why 4 out of 5? While I have plenty of spares, don't forget about chopsticks :-) Enjoy! read more

This was the first time ordering from Asian restaurant. GrubHub delivery was great. I was interested in trying their vegetarian meals. It was pretty pricey but I was willing to pay it to try food that I can't get anywhere else. I've ordered off the lunch menu . vegetarian beef and vegetables and vegetarian General Tso chicken. Both looked and tasted great. They were both very delicious. I'm actually glad I ordered them. The vegetarian General sows chicken was not what you would expect it to be. It was chunks of vegetarian meat in vegetables and a sauce. Didn't taste like General Tso's sauce at all. It was not what it is I expected but it was very delicious.. I added one vegetable spring roll in order to get the delivery. I wouldn't order that again. It was mushy inside. I would order food again. read more

The food is fresh and delicious every time. It's rare I find somewhere I really love. I always get The vegetable delight, their vegetable lo mein is also excellent.. they have the best crab Rangoon's and they also have vegetarian style chicken/meat which is great when you're craving meat but don't want meat. So, when Asian Restaurant replaced Michael's, I couldn't wait for them to open. My husband, mother in law and I stopped in tonight for dinner. Now this isn't your typical Chinese restaurant. It's a small place, but it has ample seating. They offer Chinese, Japanese & Thai cuisine. My MIL is not a huge fan of Chinese food, so my husband and I split an appetizer of Homemade Pork Dumplings. They were served with a spicy curry sauce. We also shared an order of edamame. Each of us chose a very different meal. I had the Chicken Thai Chow Mei Fun (extra spicy). They used a perfect mix of ingredients (chicken, scallions, eggs, onions and spices). My husband went for the Big Bowl of Chicken Noodle Soup with Ramen Noodles. The bowl was huge! Unfortunately, my husband would not recommend this dish. The broth was bland, the chicken was a little funky and the noodles were mushy. My MIL opted for the General Tso's Chicken. She said it was very good. It came with a side of rice and broccoli. Expect reasonable prices and a attentive, friendly staff. Overall, it was a good experience. Will be heading back soon. read more

Asian has amazing food! The people that work there are unbelievably friendly. The only complaint I have is that their portion sizes aren't as big as I would expect them to be. In my family, whenever we get take out we order a bunch of things and have it family style or buffet style. However, I feel that the portion sizes at Asian aren't big enough for that compared to other take out places Other than that they have quality food and the prices aren't ridiculous. Ordered a spring roll, chicken noodle soup, chicken with broccoli, wonton soup, and shrimp pad Thai. All were good and fresh. I can agree with others who said the soups were a little bland, but I much prefer that to too salty, and nothing a little soy sauce or sriracha can't fix. I've driven by tons of times but was always a little concerned about the nondescript name and empty dining room, but I think they do a majority delivery/takeout business. Finally came in to pick up dinner on a cold night. The vegetarian menu is great! Lots of options. We ordered the sautéed bok choy in the clear sauce and vegetable lo mein. Both dishes were huge! It must have been 5 lbs of bok choy, and tasted fresh and light. The lo mein was also delicious, full of fresh veggies. Our spring rolls were very tasty as well, crispy but not greasy.
