Food is always fresh and good. A hidden gem. Their egg rolls actually have pieces of pork in them and are not all cabbage.

Supposedly they were great at one time. The noodles and egg rolls were so so greasy . The donuts sugar was so yellow cause of the grease. The ribs were dry no sauce on them and chewy/rubber. The vegetables with pineapples had a few pineapples but no flavor. Sorry not likely to try again unless my family said they are good again read more

We actually meant to order from a different restaurant, but didn't realize it on the phone. The manager/owner at Wang Chinese Restaurant was super helpful with our order. Food is available to be made gluten free, but they do it by taking out the soy sauce, not by replacing it with tamari. This is fine for some dishes, a little different for others. Our group really enjoyed the general tsos tofu, and the fried rice and veggie spring rolls. The garlic broccoli (gluten free) was also really good. Wang is likely a place we'll return - and order with the correct menu next time! read more

We have been ordering from Wang for years and have always been satisfied. The freshness. The variety - especially their soups. (And the plumpest, tastiest egg rolls in town.) Everything is high-quality, just overall terrific. I like to compare the fried rice from one eatery to the next, and, in my opinion, Wang's is THE best. And flavorful. (Their veggie fried rice is a plant-based meal in itself.) Wang also participates with Uber Eats, so their awesome food is but a few clicks away . . . When folks do it right, let it be known. I got the general tso's lunch combo, which I am fairly boring and tend to get this almost every time I get a craving for Chinese food (I don't think I am alone on that). The chicken is tasteful with a nice crisp, but mild in spice. The fried rice was ok, just a little dry. I love that they give fried noodles and duck sauce along with the egg roll. Emergency run last night to the closest food establishment. Ended up here where I haven't been in a long time. The dining room is still closed but looking for take-out as were the entire population of Cromwell. What a great business they are doing and this sure guaranteed freshness. I had the General Tso's Chicken Combo with fried rice and egg roll. Other order was the Sweet & Sour Chicken Combo. They were both excellent with the many sauces packed into our to-go bag with enough to feed more than the two of us. Better for left-overs. The extra Scallion Pancake I ordered was not a good choice as it didn't travel well. All in all we feasted properly. read more

I have mixed feelings about Wang. I have had great experiences as well as mediocre ones. Overall, I believe their food is outstanding. They offer lot of variety of authentic Chinese food. The staff is very friendly and willing to help you make good food choices. My new favorite featured item is the beef pad Thai. Food portions are generous, even enough to share. Their food is a bit overpriced compared to other local Chinese restaurants. Most recently my wife and I went to Wang for dinner. Only couple at the restaurant, and a handful of takeouts. The main course took a while to come out. Being the only ones at the restaurants we thought it would come out quicker. After we were done eating dinner and plates cleared, it took about 10 minutes to get our check. Everyone had gone to the kitchen so we were unable to ask the server for our check. Living within a 5 minutes drive, my wife and I order here often. Last time we ordered take out we didn't get the crispy noodles. My wife also ordered the beer and broccoli. It was not beef, they might have switched it out for pork and broccoli. Overall, it's a hit or miss. Due to the close proximity we will continue to come often. read more

We heard a lot of good things, on Yelp and also from friends. We decided to try It out for dinner on Saturday night and we were kind of disappointed. We got seated right away in a nice booth. Chips, duck sauce and mustard were already on the table. Tea and water arrived almost immediately. That was the best part. We decided on the Mandarin Dinner which comes inclusive with soup, some appetizers, dinner and dessert. The entree choices were kind of limited, they didn't even have general tso's chicken or sesame chicken, which is unusual. But we took it as an opportunity to try something new. Unfortunately, many of the items did not have descriptions and the waiter couldn't really explain them to us. We just picked and hoped for the best. Soup - I got the hot and sour and my husband got wonton. The hot and sour was bland, both in terms of actual flavor and spiciness. It didn't taste like much, it actually tasted sort of watered down. It had a lot of stuff in it but the flavor wasn't there. The appetizer plate was very greasy. We each got an egg roll, a golden finger and some sort of battered fried shrimp. The batter on the chicken and shrimp was too thick, and it was flavorless. They didn't come with any dipping sauces. The waiter brought us more duck sauce on request, but the red sweet and sour sauce should be offered with this plate. The egg roll was good, that was the best part of all the pre-entree offerings. Not like it was blow your mind good...I've had better, everything else was just sub-par. I should mention that my husband's first drink didn't arrive until the appetizer course. The entrees came. I do like that they let you have pork fried rice for no charge, instead of white rice. However, the pork fried rice was very dry and not too flavorful. The garlic chicken was good, but not at all spicy. It said on the menu that it was hot and spicy, but I probably should have specified I wanted it hotter as I tend to prefer it on the spicier side, this was not spicy to me at all, but the flavor was good. It was a nice mix of chicken, broccoli, carrots, celery and water chestnuts. My husband ordered drunken lemon chicken. It should have been called sweet and sour chicken. It was breaded chicken in what tasted like sweet and sour sauce except it was more yellow/orange in color than red. It didn't taste like lemon at all. Like the appetizers, the breaking on the chicken was too much. When dinner came, my husband had ordered another drink. Again, drink service was very slow. They tried to clear our plates twice and both times I said we were waiting until he got his drink. It finally came. But had they stepped it up and gotten drinks out in less than 15 minutes, he probably would have had a third. Since alcohol is a huge profit center, they should really work on it. Their loss, and $7 that stayed in our pockets! Dessert was a choice of vanilla, strawberry, chocolate or coconut ice cream. I got strawberry and hubby got coconut. It was fine, but we were stuffed by that point. It was $45 for 2 of these deluxe dinners and 2 drinks. Not bad, but not great given the food quality. They were doing a lot of take out business and maybe I just ordered the wrong thing...or maybe people in the area like bland, greasy, over breaded Chinese food. For sit down, Great Taste is still #1 in my book. And I honestly think the food is far better at my local take out spot in Middletown, Great Wall. read more

We searched for years to find good Chinese food once we moved to CT. Wangs is fantastic. The wonton soup is not greasy and the wonton wrappers are nice and thin and tender. The steamed pork dumplings are highly recommended. They are willing to accommodate us and prepare the food with much less salt than usual. This has been one of the main reasons we return over and over again to Wangs. We've tried happy four seasons, sizzling three delicacies, chow fun, etc. all were very good. I have previously ordered takeout and quality is generally average to above average. This time, I had received Shrimp fried Rice instead of the Chicken I had ordered. There were several tails making it a bit crunchy, as well as far too much egg for my liking. I had to give up on it. Steamed dumplings tasted a bit off, but Fried dumplings were delicious. Combination plate of Shrimp with broccoli, pork fried rice and eggroll turned out the best - fried rice didn't have too much egg, shrimp and broccoli were well seasoned and cooked...very tasty. The food is excellent. We were looking for a place to sit and have lunch, sadly their dining room is closed for now. We ordered takeout, which was ready fairly quickly. The food is high quality and well prepared. I had ginger chicken with string beans which was tasty and full of flavor. I would recommend this restaurant and will certainly go back. My search continues for the perfect Chinese restaurant. Wang is a little more expensive than the other local restaurants, and I'm not quite sure why. Sure, it's a beautiful restaurant. They have a bowl of "chips" and duck sauce waiting for you on their tables. Their takeout is pretty standard. Portions are average. Parking can be pretty terrible on the weekends. What they do excel at, is their sauces. We recently tried the vegetable dumplings. They were good...and then we dipped them in the accompanying sauce...and they were awesome! The egg rolls here (knock on wood) have been perfect, every visit. Dip those babies in in some of their Duck Sauce, and you won't be disappointed. Theirs is not an overly sweet sauce. It almost tastes like it's made fresh. Unfortunately, we have found that most of their dishes lack any flavor. My husband loves Singapore Mei Fun, he loves the flavor and the heat. They do not offer this dish on their menu, so he tried Wang's House Mei Fun. Not only was there no heat, but there was hardly any flavor to the dish. Normally, leftovers don't last more than a day in our fridge. These ended up in the garbage. My go to "bad" dish is Pork Lo Mein. I have ordered it twice from here, and was not impressed either time. The first visit, was due to the lack of flavor. This last trip, I had the same flavorless meal with the added disappointment of dry and inedible pork. Everything was terrible and I'm upset about it because this is supposed to be some of the best Chinese food around my area (Middletown) I cannot for the life of me find good or even decent Chinese food. We ordered crab Rangoon, gold fingers, chicken and broccoli, it came with an egg roll and plain lomein. The rangoons were inedible. The gold fingers were bearable. The chicken and broccoli had random pieces of tough and old tasting meat. The egg roll had a bad flavor to it. The plain lomein was just that.. super plain no taste no seasoning and very mushy. One fortune cookie was completely crushed up and the other had no fortune LOL. First and last time eating at this place.
