I haven't gone here in years and I decided to try them for dinner yesterday. I stood there waiting for my order. I called it in and they said 15 minutes. I arrived about 20 minutes or so after ordering. I figured hey they must be good, the place was really busy, usually a good sign, so I didn't mind waiting a little longer. I read their award certificates up on the wall for the past few years as being the best Chinese food in Bristol. To say the food was lousy is an understatement . It was the worst Chinese food that any of us have eaten. The lady that worked there kept going into the back to yell at the guy cooking. She had the phone on her shoulder taking orders and running in the back to pack up the food and I saw her picking up the chicken fingers and egg rolls from the fryer with her hands and then going to the register to ring out the customers. The General Tso's chicken was overcooked, and tasted like fish. The chicken fingers were dripping with oil and severely overcooked, almost like beef jerky. I probably could have eaten tree bark that tasted better. The pork fried rice was dry and just nasty- did not taste good at all. The side of boneless bbq ribs was hard, couldn't bite into it and couldn't even break it apart. Teriyaki beef on a stick in my combo plate was so dry and burnt. It was black! Waste of money! Did a take-out order tonight, our first time ordering from Lee Po's. I went with a General Tso's Chicken combination (#25), my fiancee ordered a Cashew Chicken combination (#20). Both meals were very tasty, was one of the better General Tso's chicken dishes I've ever had. The eggrolls that came with the meals were very large, and also very good too. Generous portions, reasonable price for everything. We would certainly order from Lee Po's again, and perhaps dine in also. Lee Po's is a strong 4 Star rating in my opinion. read more

Sadly the food has gone downhill! I've been going here over 10 years but in the last year the food quality has declined significantly! The chicken is unrecognizable as chicken, the flavor is very off! They continue to mess up orders twice in the last month! We've been getting takeout from Lee Po since 1990. We had always thought the food was good. But recently the quality has gone downhill. We have ordered 2 times in the last 6 weeks and have been sorely disappointed. The chicken in the Chicken and Cashews was dried out, chewy and not really recognizable as chicken. Same with the chicken in the Chicken Fingers. The House Fried Rice and Chicken Lo Mien had very little of the vegetables and meat. They were 90% rice or noodles. Good Chinese take out restaurant. The portions are huge and the food has always been piping hot and fresh when I've ordered. A friend and I were out and about last week and we decided to call in an order to Lee PO. We ordered 2 sesame chickens and a fried wonton order and when we picked up the order the bag had some serious weight to it! It had to weigh in at around 5 pounds! There was much food leftover and that served as another complete meal for the next day. So, lesson learned, 1 order of sesame chicken can easily feed 2 people. read more

I've had only very limited experience with Lee Po's menu, but it includes two standout items: chicken wings and hot and sour soup. There are only four chicken wings in an order, but they're HUGE in size by today's standards. They're well-seasoned with salt and fried to crispy, juicy goodness. The hot and sour soup has the best overall flavor of any that I've had from restaurants in the area. While some might prefer more heat, it's just hot enough for me and has a perfect level of sourness. It has a nice consistency; it's not over-thickened with corn starch. The tender pork bits are spot on. I like the flavor so much that I can overlook the inclusion of slivers of water chestnut and use of button-type mushrooms, instead of cloud ear mushrooms. It's slightly annoying to be asked for cash if the bill is under $15, but I'm used to that from Chinese merchants. read more

Lee Po used to be the best for Chinese food their egg rolls were always amazing. Last few times we got food it was just ok and the egg rolls were leaking oil. Today was the last time for me. Showed up 20 minutes after she said 15 mins.... then stood in the rain for an additional 15 mins waiting. Got home and the one of the combination orders was wrong (even though he read it to me correctly). The egg rolls were so greasy crunchy and and cold. The chicken fingers were hard and crunchy. The rice was hard and tasted burnt. The teriyaki beef sticks almost ripped my dads false teeth out trying to get a bite. Now I'm sitting on the couch with a stomach ache. read more

We ordered our usual Chinese food items: crab rangoons, chicken teriyaki on a stick, beef teriyaki on a stick, chicken lo mein, and shrimp lo mein. The crab rangoons and chicken teriyaki were pretty good. The beef and chicken are a decent size. The egg rolls are huge and a bit oily. The lacked flavor. I hadn't tried Lee Po in about 3 years because it was so bad that time. Well, I can't believe it hasn't gotten any better. The egg rolls are so greasy and burnt. Tried blotting off the grease, but one bite in and it's full of grease on the inside as well. This is what stopped us from going there years ago. The General Tso's was also like hard nuggets of breading - no chicken to be found. This place is so disappointing. This is our go too sit down Chinese food location. The family is fantastic and always as nice as can be. I go with the family , with the girls for lunch and even when family comes in to visit. The food is fresh and fantastic. They are happy to adjust things like spiciness. The pupu platter is great for the teens with the little fire center. I highly recommend giving them a visit read more

Decided to give Lee Po another shot tonight. House Mei Fun, Crab Rangoons, Beef and Broccoli w/ White Rice, Steamed Dumplings. Mei Fun was not fun at all. Very bland. Hardly any flavor at all. Guess I can be thankful it wasn't TOO greasy. Crab Rangoons were fantastic. They must buy those frozen I imagine? Beef and Broccoli was your standard run of the mill Beef and Broccoli. Steamed dumplings. Inedible. All dough. Chewy. Sauce just tasted like way too much garlic infused soy sauce. Horrible. Was all thrown out except for the piece the dog snagged and he paid for it later. Think this will be our last visit to Lee Po.
