It's Chinese food- American Takeout style. They're not the kind of place you want to eat in at- heard the buffet is not so awesome (and who knows if there will be a buffet ever again after COVID?), and the driveway situation going out onto busy Rte 229 with no stop light is kind of a risk, but thankfully they offer delivery for pretty cheap- less than $1. The delivery option plus it being the best delivery option in town is what gives this place 4 stars over 3. I usually order online as the over-the-phone ordering is nightmarish at best. The staff is not very friendly over the phone, or when delivering, for that matter. But they get it done, and ordering online at least alleviates half the bad staff interactions. The pricing is not cheap, but is aligned with similar type restaurants in the area. They have coupons for free items, but only if you spend over 20 (before tax), 30, 40, or more. It's the kind of place where you think each item isn't all that expensive, but the bill adds up quick. My small family of 3 can never seem to spend less than $35.00 there. The menu is the same as like restaurants in the area. My partner really likes the boneless bbq spare ribs, and rightfully so- they are very well cooked, with nicely charred/blackened tips. They come out a dark red instead of candy apple red- which is what the undercooked sauce on the ribs look like. Their fried rice is also very good. Some have called it dry, but I like it that way. So, it works for me. I like the crisp green peas and onions in it. If they added egg, it would be even better. The Beef Teryiaki skewer sticks need some work. They were very gray in color, and the teriyaki flavor was too salty, almost like Kikkomans from the jar salty. Beef Teriyaki is generally one of my favorite items, but theirs was not special. The General Tso's was middle of the road. Acceptable, but I wouldn't write home about it. The egg rolls were great. I wish we ordered more than the one included with a platter we got. Overall, the food quality is middle of the road. Prices are middle of the road. Service is less than satisfactory, but since you can order online and get delivery, you can avoid much of the bad service AND get ok quality food delivered to your door, usually within 45 min (the norm for takeout places around here). If you really don't want to go out and pick up your Chinese Takeout, I totally recommend them for best delivered in Bristol. If you're planning to pick up, there are other better places, like SunFat in the Bristol Plaza Annex. read more

I've been ordering from New Nice for several years now and never had any issue. The food has always been good and the staff has always been friendly. I moved out of Bristol but will still go out of my way to come to New Nice as I know the food is good and I haven't been able to find anywhere comparable in my new town. I would recommend this place. I've been to Nice a total of probably 4 or 5 times. This Restaurant has proved to me to get worse and worse with each visit. I've now sworn off this place for several reasons. When you see the restaurant from the outside you see nothing special. Another Chinese restaurant. Walking in the restaurant looks somewhat dirty as if they don't have the best cleaning practices. Built of grime. Appearance just isn't on their list of priorities. Nor is their customer service. I placed my order with relative difficulty because the person at the counter did not speak any English. Come on. One requirement I have is that if you are living and running a business please, for everything that exists, try to speak English. The ordering/take out process was terrible. No customer service at all. Was very business like. No offering sauces or anything at all. Not even a smile. Whatever, if the food is good I can deal. The food was far from good. I ordered for two. I had the general tso's chicken. Boneless chicken fingers and crab rangoons. She ordered the beef and broccoli,steamed dumplings and boneless bbq spareribs. The ribs were decent if not a bit oily. Beef and broccoli was OK. My general tso's was terrible. Very strong on the vinegar and tasted like ketchup. Dumplings were ok. Rangoons were typical Chinese restaurant rangoon except again, oily. Chicken fingers were ok. The food being less than satisfying left me disappointed yet again with Nice. 2 hours later. I was sick as a dog. Never again will I go here. If you're starving and need food. 5 min up the road will get you to dunkin. read more

Inconsistent overall in EXCEPT FOR their customer service - it is NEVER great & hinges on rude 100% of the time. Total hit or miss with the food. It is either the best Chinese food in Bristol or inedible due to dry rice or food floating in grease. Delivery can be uber fast or wicked slow. I also will add that their practice of adding a $1 charge because you pay with a credit card is not only dishonest but illegal in the State of Connecticut. Was a bit disappointed in the egg rolls. They were a bit greasy and lacked much more then ground up pork that was tough. The Spring rolls were empty 'cept for some unidentifiable brown "stuff" inside. Now I know they buy them wholesale from somewhere so it's not all their fault. Husband had shrimp with cashews. Maybe found 10 half pieces of something that looked like cashews halves mixed in. There were tons of veggies sauteed in a brown sauce with a good number of good sized shrimp. The whole serving size was HUGE. We have been terribly disappointing in our other favorite Chinese restaurants in the Bristol area since covid began. I don't know if it's their suppliers or what is available for them to purchase but I think we will avoid the Chinese restaurants for the time being. People of bristol do not order from new nice chineese, It's good food yes, but the people can hardly understand u if you call and apparently the online ordering is so botched that it messes up your order. I'm finicky about what I eat I know what I like. Same order every time. Yet they somehow get it wrong. Pork fried rice, shrimp lomain, eggroll, can of soda. Is apparently veggie fried rice, egg roll, white rice, shrimp chowmain. I really do not care for language barriers, so I order online. I really enjoy their online ordering option which allows me to fully customize the foods to my taste. It also makes the ordering process so much quicker and easier. The only downside is occasionally malfunctions do occur on their website which leads to my order not getting processed so I do recommend calling them and making sure that your order actually went through. Upon walking into this restaurant, the operative word is "dingy". There is a level of grime and general shabbiness that should have clued me into the gastronomic disaster I was about to commit. At the center of the restaurant is a "buffet" with pieces of fried chicken that have been sitting out for far too long. I ordered a vegetable dish (tackling their meat without health insurance is far too risky a venture) and got green veggies bombarded in brown oil. The first couple of bites were tasty and then I thought I was lapping from a mini-BP oil spill. Service was non-existent though transactional is probably the best description.
