Had to pick up dinner for the whole family and stopped here thanks to Yelp reviews. The whole experience was pleasurable; the nice lady that greeted us at the door and gave order recommendations. We even got a free dish added to our order. Got home and everything was hot, fresh, and tasty. Portions were big enough that we saved some for a whole other meal the next day. I ordered for pick-up. Peking Duck, Bean Curd Homestyle, and Beef & Broccoli completes the order. It was very tasty. The Peking Duck was delicious, but offered only a small portion of meat. What did you expect? LOL. The other items' portion was a lot more generous. It came with white rice which I didn't eat. The reason why is that the rice was old and dry. I chucked it. Living in Bristol, Lotus Garden had been my go-to for Chinese food for years now. I don't celebrate Christmas and we decided Chinese would be ideal for that evening. Thankfully despite Covid they're still open, and their lo mein it's as good as ever, along with a custom order of tofu and mushrooms in black bean sauce. Ugh it, dam man I recently went in on a Thursday night around 9:45-10:00 pm. I called in my order, still had to wait which isn't the problem for me as I figured because of course they had more orders. But I ordered 3 orders of chicken wings and large pork fried rice, 3 egg rolls which qualified me for a wonton soup. The rice was dry like extremely dry and not even a little warm. The chicken was the same it was crispy but dry as if it was a meal someone didn't pick up and they threw it back in the fryer. Only reason I tried the wonton soup is because it was free but I'd never pay for it either there the wontons from here or at least the ones I was given were not made with thin dough. Too much dough for the piece of meat provided. I've ordered from this location plenty of times, this experience def puts me on alert to check/taste my food before leaving and requesting my food be prepared FRESH !!!!! read more

Lotus Garden has been a common place to order from for me. I usually only get delivery and they're typically on point with timing even though they're in Plainville and I'm in Bristol. Prices seem to be better than most places and the food is just top quality. Tonight I ordered delivery and the driver was excellent. Thanked me for shoveling the sidewalk up to the door which was nice. Food was hot and really tasty. The general tso's was a bit crispy and very flavorful. The fried shrimp... 8 shrimp which were butterflied, breaded and fried. So good! Overall just a really great order. It's my birthday and planned to go out but decided to stay in. Five-star food within its own realm, i.e. takeout Chinese grease peddlers. I've always enjoyed what I've eaten here. And it's very cheap, since I'm always ordering from the lunch menu. I work in the area. But last time I was here, their practices could only be described as highly unintelligent. When you work in the restaurant business, your lunch time cannot be the same as the peak lunch hour, which I think we'd all agree is 12-1PM. I walked in between 12:30 and 12:45, and they were getting ready to take their break. Making my lunch was a downright inconvenience to them - it took forever, they made the wrong dish (I wasn't about to send it back for fear of losing even more time), and they forgot to get my soda. I've worked foodservice before. I expect no less than to eat at odd hours, such as a 4PM lunch or a 10PM dinner. You have to adapt. Apparently, these guys just don't. read more

If you are looking for sickingly sweet, greasy food you're in the right place. Never been here before but wanted to get a couple different things to give a fair review. Lunch time items so price wise was very good. Fried rice was ok but greasy. The boneless spare ribs was something I can only describe as "meat dessert"- it was like eating meat candy. So so so so sweet and strange meat texture. Couldn't separate the fatty bits from the meat. I think the heavy corn syrup covering was the most off putting. Even the egg rolls were super sweet. I'm kind of at a loss with all of that. Now... The steamed veggies? Very good! Plain, from the "healthy menu" and with white rice. They get 4 stars for that... Wonton soup was good as well. This was a huge disappointment. I've ordered from here before and have always been satisfied. This last meal was a problem. I ordered the Ta-chien chicken along with some pork fried rice. The Ta-chien chicken was inedible. It's supposed to be sauteed chicken in a spicy brown sauce but it turned out to be a salty mess. The brown sauce was so salty it reminded me of getting a mouthful of seawater at the beach. I did not add anything to this meal. No soy sauce no nothing but this was just gross and devoid of any spice. The fried rice was also very salty. A mixup int he kitchen? I don't know but I do know that the food from last night ended up in the garbage disposal and it's going to be very hard for me to order food from this place gain. read more

Chinese restaurants are a dime a dozen here in Bristol, but I am happy to admit that this place has everything including sushi, and YES I do eat the sushi, time and time again. The girl that always answers the phone is so very pleasant and personable, she try's to remember your name even after only a few visits. They deliver food very efficiently, and even delivered durring a snow storm that two other chinese wouldn't dare venture out (make sure to tip good). I have never had a bad experiance with this place under it's current ownership, and have just placed an order. The best Chinese food in Plainville! OK, I admit, I haven't tried them all... but after getting delivery from Lotus Garden a few times, I don't feel the need to try any others. Every dish I've tried has been good (cashew chicken, wonton soup, sweet/sour chicken, general tso's chicken, crab rangoon) but my favorite is the beef with mushrooms. They also have sushi, which is generally very good. I'm usually not a huge fan of Chinese food, because of the texture of the meat (either too tough, or too stringy) but that's not the case here. No need for me to be a Chinese vegetarian anymore! Delivery is quick, prices are reasonable. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because sometimes the recipes seem inconsistent - always good, but the spices seem to change a little with the day. ** This review is only for the delivery; we have not yet dined there. read more
