Just tried this restaurant for first time. Hot and Sour Soup was the best I've had in years. I also ordered Szechuan chicken combo meal. Egg roll was nice and crisp and tasty. The chicken wasn't as spicy as I would have liked, but that's minor. It was tasty and the quantity was very plentiful and provided lunch for 2 more days. I'll definitely be ordering again. read more

Many Chinese restaurants are fair at best. They are more fast food than fine dining, although it isn't fast prep when they are busy. And to be fair, I have been to other Chinese restaurants which are good food. We have gone here for years as it is convenient. But, the fried rice isn't fried, its barely flavored and with little of the meat. The General Tso's chicken amounts to chicken nuggets with the General Tso's sauce. I have had much better. Last night I ordered boneless spare ribs. When I opened the container, it was piled high with the "boneless ribs" and I thought I had struck gold. They were horrible. What was masquerading as boneless ribs was most likely low quality beef jerky dressed it up with some flavor. The meat was so hard, it was un-chewable. Why do businesses try to cut costs and ruin a potentially good meal. What really turned me off was when I found a hair in my fried rice. I tossed what was left of my meal. I will not be ordering from there again. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. They sent this atrocity masquerading as teriyaki chicken tonight. It was dripping all over the entire order & looked undercooked. Everything else we ordered was bland. When we called the restaurant they didn't know when the manager would be working and refused to refund any money. I've gone there for years and loved it. All of a sudden they hired someone who's super rude and has terrible service. Just called to order dinner, he hung up the first time, when I needed a minute to grab my card he asked me to call back and hung up, when I did I had to start all over again and he was frustrated. This time they hit it out of the park. I ordered for lunch at about 12:30. When I was ordering, the lady was very nice and helpful. I was given a 45 minute wait time, but it was delivered in 30 minutes. The food was nice and steaming hot. I ordered General Tso's combo plate with chicken fried rice, was delicious but the chicken was a little dry and the rice wasn't oily like it has been the last 2 or 3 times thankfully. Beef and broccoli was so delicious with a strong beef flavor, but it did have some hard parts in the beef. The steamed veggies was so good with the white rice and sauce and it's so filling. The chicken fingers were also hot and delectable that I couldn't stop eating them. The egg roll was a little oily, but when I wrapped it in a paper towel to suck up some oil it was delicious as well. I could taste the cabbage and pork even through the sweet and sour sauce I dipped it in. I don't know why there are so many complaints on here I've been a customer of there's for over 15 years. There was a little issue with the oily fried rices but that was not an issue today, so I hope they've gone back to their original recipe for good. You also have to remember that they only have 1 driver maybe 2 at most, from what I've seen when I've visited anyway. So if they are busy, which does happen at night since they have great food, there may be a little wait, but they've never been longer than the 45 minute wait time on all of my deliveries. If you're ordering at night, try asking how long of a wait before placing an order, then you can decide if you can wait that long or not. I was questioning whether or not to order due to the oily rice the last few orders, but after this experience I will definitely be ordering again. read more

Terrible and here's why: Ordered online at 5:26pm. Delivered at 7:05pm. I had to call at 6:50 to ask if the food was still coming and the woman, as nice as she was and she was very nice and apologetic, advised me tonight was a very busy night. I said ok as long as it's here in the next 10 mins or so. Which it was. The driver had nothing to say until I asked if they were busy which he confirmed and also apologized. As nice as they were it was still no excuse to leave a paying customer hanging with false expectations. An email, phone call, text or something to let me know of the delay should have been made. That being said I need to discuss the food. It was a big order. General Tso's chicken, Sesame Chicken, Steam dumplings, Crab rangoon, chicken chow mai fun, and an order of chicken wings. Both chicken dishes inedible. Asked for crispy. Received soggy, oily and terrible flavor. There were also little bones in two of the pieces of chicken. Chicken wings were mediocre and very oily. Steamed dumplings had no flavor and the crab rangoons were limp and saturated in oil. Lastly the chow mai fun had a burnt flavor to it. I couldn't place it but again, greasy. Overall just a terrible, terrible experience. $46 in the garbage. Will not go back. Not when there are much better places around. read more

By no means gourmet, but they held it down for me the 8 years I lived in Bristol. There was a small gap in quality a couple years ago, but that worked itself out in a couple months. Before i eventually moved it was back to normal. They were consistent, fast, and friendly. Mai fun and egg foo young are very good. A bit Americanized, but not bad buffet qualityor anything. Now today at 2:00 we order again for delivery literally was going to be close to an hour in a half which they didn't tell is. We called to check on our order and found out that way. I found it in China Kitchen. The portions are great for the dollar and the food itself wonderful. The food here is nothing to write home about but they are consistent. I usually order the shrimp fried rice, chicken lo mien or sweet and sour chicken and I have never had any complaints. They are your standard Chinese take-out place. They do deliver and you won't have to wait very long for your food. Very unappetizing meal my last time at China Kitchen. Stopped by on my way home from work for takeout and I feel like the meal was prepared hurriedly and carelessly. Ever since I could remember I've been a huge Chinese food aficionado. On a quest to locate the very best.. Or at least the edible. Upon my travels I've come across this restaurant, the place my mother fondly told me about, and decided to order. The first time was in the restaurant itself. Rather small and concealed from view, this restaurant is easy to miss. The lady who asked me for my order and told me the total was exceedingly patient, as were the chefs. They didn't even shake their heads when I gave very specific orders or asked for something to add on to my order halfway through. The specials they give are excellent when ordering large amounts for groups of people, as they give out free menu items if you pass a certain dollar amount. They're very good about remembering what you want them to leave out or your allergies, and eventually they're able to pick out names. The actual restaurant itself isn't all that beautiful, but their speed and hospitality overcompensates or that fact. Their delivery services are very good- which is important for me since I live on a private drive- and their speed is once again a priority. I have to say, whenever I get home and that smell fills up my senses.. Hoo boy, am I in for a treat! Recommended for all who don't mind the quirks of Chinese takeout.
