Very good food. Excellent hot and sour soup! No fortune cookies with our delivery, though :(. Would definitely order again.

Consistently good food. Been ordering here for years, can't find any other better Chinese locally.

I moved last year and I'm on a quest to rebuild my list of reliable Chinese takeout spots closer to…read moremy new home. That quest brought me to Hunan Wok III in New Britain. I visited for lunch and ordered a Lunch Combo with Hunan Beef, pork fried rice and an egg roll, and I also ordered a wonton soup. They have a couple of dine in tables and I decided to eat there. Atmosphere isn't really a selling point, but the restaurant seemed clean and functional. Service was friendly and efficient. The food was a mix of good and very good. Highlights included: (1) the egg roll with a peek crispy exterior and a flavorful filling; (2) the flavor of the mildly spicy and rich brown Hunan sauce and the texture, color and variety of the vegetables (peppers, carrots, chopped baby corn, broccoli, onion, mushrooms, etc.) in the Hunan Beef; (3) the substantial wontons and tasty meat filling of the wontons in the soup; and (4) the chopped boneless spareribs type pork in the pork fried rice. Things which were not quite as good included: (1) the soup broth could have used a bit more flavor; (2) the rice in the fried rice was yellow and I tend to prefer the flavor of the fried rice style that is tan; and (3) the beef was a bit chewy in parts, although still above average for CT Chinese takeout restaurants. 4.25 Stars. A good takeout option for sure.

The chicken wasn't all breading and wasn't greasy, decent size pieces of chicken. Crab Rangoon was delectable and didn't taste like cream cheese like other places. Rice was bland. Overall the price was decent and everything was good and flavorful.

I don't like to share poor reviews but I wanted to share my honest experience…read more The first thing I noticed was the limited parking. When you enter, you walk through a boba tea and sweets area before turning the corner into the restaurant seating, which was a bit unexpected but interesting. When I arrived, I was asked to wait briefly for a group to leave before being seated since the space is very small and there wasn't enough room to pass. Once they moved, I was seated right away, which I appreciated. There were a few cleanliness and service issues that took away from the experience. The table hadn't been fully cleaned and still had spilled flower water on it, with napkins on the floor underneath. We also didn't have napkins or silverware at the table initially, so I grabbed napkins from the other side of the restaurant to wipe the table. I did mention this to the staff, but the table wasn't addressed afterward. The food was okay and had flavor, though it was fairly simple and became repetitive after a few bites. Service overall felt a bit slow, and we waited for a while before someone helped us check out. Overall, the experience was just okay. With a bit more attention to cleanliness and service, I think this place has the potential to be much better.

I decided on an order of chicken wings with Thai sauce, and beef with mixed vegetables in a garlic sauce. The wings were on point, crispy with Thai sauce. Sauce was mild and sweet The beef with mixed vegetables and garlic sauce was awful! Grey beef, looked poached, with mixed vegetables. Veggies but the cabbage were ok, cabbage tasted spoiled. The garlic sauce.... Let's call this jarlic and water, which was so bland, this dish seemed like a dietetic dish! No kick at all! The jasmine rice was bland until I put the remaining chile sauce on it. This was a disappointment, given the restaurant was slow at 12:15 on a Wednesday I expected food with a kick, instead diet bland food was served.

Never again. WTF is with these Chinese places putting out rotten food. Or maybe it's just a Bristol…read morething because this isn't the first time I've ordered from a restaurant in Bristol and received rotten food. Ordered delivery which took them the typical 60 minutes. Far too long to wait for delivery but it's whatever. I was prepared for it. General Tso's... was eating it and about half way through I bit into a piece that tasted just "off". Next bite... yeah this was not fresh and tasted like it had just spoiled a day ago. Who even let's that happen? Half the order was tossed in the garbage. Pork Lo Mein... The entire order was spoiled. It was the pork. Which looked odd to begin with. Very small pieces. Almost had the consistency of a pulled pork stringiness but just weird looking. I picked a few pieces out of the lo mein and tried them on their own. ROTTEN. No question about it. Whole order in the trash. Lastly was the Pork Mu Shu. Although the taste was a bit different than it usually is it did taste fresh. Half order thrown out... we weren't about to risk it. If the majority of the order was actually rotten then was the mu shu tainted as well? Unacceptable. In today's world where everything cost so much more money and will continue to get worse and worse these "dime a dollar" restaurants need to at the very least bump up their quality game. You're going to charge me more at least make sure the food is fresh and cooked properly. Never again with Taste of China.

The other two dishes are just way too greasy, rice under cooked or overcooked and the vegetables are very mushy.
