Amaaaazing seafood--the jambalaya was delicious and a good portion! Cant speak much of the ambiance as we sat outside, but waiter was a doll and so friendly! Drinks also were delicious!

Get the bellies in my belly! When we wanted to get some lunch, we remembered this place that we had been meaning to try. It looks nondescript from the outside but it's legit. We had really friendly service and a nice table inside. Then the food was top shelf for seafood. Whole belly clams with old bay fries is just my perfect dish that screams summer in New England to me. The swordfish tacos were huge! So was the tuna melt. Overall portions were huge and I loved that the food came out piping hot and fresh. Lots of love from the kitchen. It may not have all the buzz but it should. It's just a great little seafood place.

I come here every chance I get coming back home. They never disappoint. Today's meal with my mom celebrating her birthday was great! Thank you

If you are a seafood lover Close Harbour is worth checking out. On left side of the restaurant is their market. Besides selling fresh seafood, they also have items like seaweed salad, salmon burgers, crab stuffed mushrooms, stuffed shrimp, claims casino, and much more. On the right side on the restaurant is for patio dining. They started us off with Italian bread and their house made cornbread. My wife ordered whole belly claims with coleslaw and a side salad. I had the fish and chips. Both meals were excellent, their coleslaw and cornbread were delicious. Good size portions, and the service was excellent.

    Seafood Combo Platter

My husband and I were looking for a seafood lunch spot. We stumbled across this place on Yelp. They have a series of #1 awards in their store front window (which is always nice to see) You can't help but notice the fresh seafood department. I will say that I plan on returning for some fresh seafood one day and will take it home to cook it. Now onto my review of lunch: I was honestly rooting for this place, but to start off my lemon drop martini stopped at least an inch down the glass when served to me. Not to mention I had to ask for simple syrup because it honestly tasted like lemon juice and Tito's. We ordered the seafood combo off the appetizer menu. What you see here in the pictures is what you got and this was priced at $20. I don't mind paying for good food as long as I feel like the restaurant isn't getting over on me. Unfortunately, this restaurant gave me that feeling. We received 2 oyster Rockefeller's, 2 casinos, 2 shrimp cocktail and about 3 maybe 4 ounces of fried calamari. And we had to add salt and pepper and a bunch of lemon wedge juice, which is never a good sign. The breading was very light, which I did not mind, but flavor was definitely lacking. I will say the marinara sauce for the calamari was very good! Onto the main course, my husband and I shared the seafood combination platter. I will say I was very pleased with the freshness of the seafood! Unfortunately, we barely got enough! $32 for 3 shrimp, 3 scallops and one 4 ounce piece of fish. They put the seafood on top of the truffle fries we ordered when I tell you the soaked up all of the oil and grease we didn't even eat half of it because they were so greasy. The parmesan truffle fries really lacked.... TRUFFLE?! And where was the Parmesan cheese? A lot left to be desired. I'm also not a fan of folks using dill relish in tartar sauce. Sweet relish should be used to balance the flavor. Service was decent, nothing special. The bartender doubled as our server. The overall feel of the place gave a small town, mom and pop dive bar that caters to a much older crowd. Try it for yourself if you want.

We decided to stop at Close Harbour because we heard very good reviews. We started with the steamers as an appetizer they were so juicy and larger than expected .The bartender also served Italian bread and the best (cornbread )and butter. I ordered the seafood combo with scallops and sweet potatoes fries the seafood was so fresh , definitely was enough food I couldn't finish it. It was nice to bring home a doggy bag. The atmosphere is a casual seating. They also have a seafood market attached to it, which is very convenient . We decided to sit at the bar, but they do have a very large patio for outdoor dining. The service was very good. The staff were very friendly.

As fresh as it gets. Date of Visit: 10/9/22 Stopped at Close Harbour while on a road trip from RI to NY. I went out of my way ~30 mins to get my seafood fix, and I'm glad I did! I started with the Rhode Island Clam Chowder, which was ok, but made me wish I'd stuck with orthodox New England, or their Combo Chowder (NE + RI). The star of the show was the fried seafood combo platter, which was 14/10. I went with Shrimp, Fish, and Whole Belly Clams -- which you *CANNOT* skip when in this area. Everything was fresh, beautifully battered, and fried to perfection. My only semi-gripe would be on the fries, which were a bit soggy. That said, I would absolutely go out of my way to visit again.

Bills Fried oyster dinners ! Fresh and delicious , my wife had the lobster sandwich not pictured but looked amazing!

Welcome to the great stuffed shrimp taste-off of 2021!!…read more In search of the best stuffed shrimp in the area to serve on Christmas Eve, I posted on various Facebook pages to solicit recommendations. Of course, I can't just trust strangers on Facebook, so we did what any self respecting Yelpers would do...we did a trial run of five spots over a two day period, ordering 4 stuffed shrimp from each. We sampled them plain, with lemon, butter, and cocktail sauce, critiquing the size, quality of the shrimp, taste and quality of the stuffing, and overall value for the price. With, of course, photos of both the raw starting point and the cooked final product. Gulf Shrimp was 4th in the line up, but came with numerous recommendations. Upon arrival, I was struck by the horrific rancid smell of decaying fish. Outside!! I mean I know it's a fish market, but are they throwing fish carcasses in the woods?? Upon walking in, the smell was even worse. I wanted to walk out, but we were committed. Now remember, we went to 5 fish spots in two days - none smelled anything like this. We aren't at the docks next to the fishing boats. It's in an industrial area off the highway, and there is absolutely no reason for it to smell like this. I already knew they only sold the stuffed shrimp frozen, which was a major con as I needed to cook it that night. 4 for $28, or $7 each. On the higher end of what we had paid. We decided to try 8 cooked cocktail shrimp as well, as they had some nice large ones. Their fresh seafood selection was extremely limited though. I'm not sure why...I've seen more seafood at a grocery seafood counter than at this dedicated fish market. We get it home, I have to thaw the stuffed shrimp. We decide to eat the cocktail shrimp while we wait. Of the 8, two were not properly cleaned (nasty!) so I had to do that myself. I'd be hard pressed to pay $24.99/lb for cooked/cleaned shrimp that I then have to inspect at home before serving to my guests. That was a huge miss. They were also a bit chewy. Stuffed shrimp was good in size, but the stuffing was extremely fishy to the point where my husband didn't finish his. He ate all the other shrimp in the taste off. I also was reluctant to believe they were cleaned properly after the cocktail shrimp experience. No amount of lemon, butter or cocktail sauce saved these stinkers for us. So in summary, smelly, expensive, mediocre quality. I'd skip Gulf Shrimp and try a different spot instead. We won't be back. Gulf Shrimp came in at #5 out of 5 in the great stuffed shrimp taste-off of 2021.

We were in the Pajer Superette (one of our favorite Italian delis) in Agawam a few days ago, and bought a 16-ounce jar of Napoli sliced jalapenos for $2.89. I opened that jar tonight and tossed a few slices on both my salad and a pizza we made at home using a crust we also bought at Pajer. The jalapenos were good - crisp with plenty of zip. I'd bet the mortgage this wasn't the first Napoli product we ever bought. But it was the first time I decided to see if they were listed on Yelp. Yes, they were.

The new booth was great, but there was no table set up until we asked for utensils and napkins. Water tasted chlorinated. After ordering the food arrived quickly.. too quickly, and should have been spaced out; drinks and bread, appetizers, and main course. Food was piping hot! Too hot to enjoy and burned mouth, making the taste unenjoyable until cooled. Soup was boiling in crock bowl. Someone should be checking the temperatures in the kitchen, before sending it out to be served. Appetizer was served without small side plates and had to ask for them. The added flower was a nice touch, but taste of food was hit or miss. White ventilation vents appeared dirty on the walls, and were mounted high up on the wall in the main dining area. Someone should clean them. Sorry, but I think this restaurant could better. As I walked through the front doors, I noticed kegs alongside on the floor. This was kind of a turn off, kind of reminds me of a dive bar. So my mentality kicked in that we were going into a dive bar serving food. I kinda get the sketchy feeling. Once we were seated, and menus placed, we were served iced water A few minutes later, the server came back and took our order. My friend ordered a cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, and some string french fries. I ordered the 1/2 smoked chicken, which came with two sides. I chose the rattlesnake beans and the creamy macaroni and cheese. Also include included was cornbread I originally wanted the street corn, as a side, but it was not available. Our lunches came quick, and my friend only ate half the french fries and cheeseburger, as she wasn't really turned on by them. The smoked chicken was fairly dry, with a very interesting smoked flavor to it that I can't put my finger on. I eat about 1/3 of it. Left the rest on the plate. The creamy macaroni and cheese was out of bounds top-notch. I could've eaten this all day. The rattlesnake rice and beans were just OK. The rice was cooked pretty good, and was seasoned well. The beans had a weird taste. Now thinking of this side dish, I was hoping for raw onions to be on top, but they were nowhere to be found. It'll be nice if there was chopped raw onions to go with this. The cornbread was delicious. I ate about half of it. It was a generous slice. While the server was fairly attentive, as she only checked in to fill the water glasses and ask how lunch was. She didn't ask us if we wanted a desert or coffee. Being old folks this would've been a great up for us, but it didn't happen. I had to ask for the check. I'm not sure if I would come back. I think this might be a one and done. The vibe just didn't hit it for me. Restrooms were clean. The restaurant was clean; the silverware clean. I don't know. It just was like a funky type layout and those beer kegs kinda sent the wrong tone to me as a guest. Lunch for the two of us was $40 and change and I left a $10 tip. We didn't have any cocktails or mock tails, we didn't have coffee or dessert either. From what I understand, the owner was near the exit when we left, not even a smile or a thank you for coming in...
