Mozz sticks. Appears to be done with a fish n chip type batter. Meh!

Service 5/5 Atmosphere 1/5. Tony, your old influence needs to be laid to rest. You may be there almost every day and that may be killing the new hope for change. Time to let go ma-dude. New bar area looks great. Tony's old interior and pink booths remain. Nothing in this restaurant would draw me to the bar as there is no fun/hip/friendly vibe and the bar is hidden. Food 2/5. Dinner rolls were honestly the highlight. The "honey butter" they came w was just lazy. A dish of butter w a drizzle of honey atop. Made me sad to see the lack of infused butter effort. Chef, I know you can do better with everything! There were 0 other patrons in the place at 1:00 on a Thursday Prob wont go back. Sorry. Thanks for staying open for a 2-top for us!

Bread. This was exceptional. Great crust and delicious.

We were looking forward to trying out Morava, the reviews online have been looking good. The restaurant was very clean if a bit dated and I really wish our waitress introduced herself. This personal touch is something that helps me to want to come back, establishing that personal connection. The rolls were a great start but unfortunately they were the best part of the meal. With perfect crust and texture they set the standard high for the remainder of the meal. We ordered calamari with hot peppers on the side (since my wife isn't a fan of high heat foods) and seafood stuffed mushrooms. The calamari (small as it was) serving came out with the peppers mixed in and our waitress acknowledged this but only offered to bring out a fork to let us fish them out of the rest of the calamari; not something I expected to have to do at a restaurant with table service. The seafood stuffed mushrooms were okay but not remarkable and tasted as thought they were previously prepared and frozen and baked. The entrees: My wife had the Taste of Italy with Penne and mozazarella cheese, manicotti, stuffed shells, sausage, and meatball. The meatball was overly dense but tasty and the sausage had little flavor. I ordered seafood fra diavolo. The pasta tasted like it was out of a box and not fresh and the sauce only had heat from adding in pickled hot peppers. This was not what I was expecting from a dish costing nearly $40.00. Oh, and the seafood... the clams were cooked so long there was barely any meat in them and the mussels were rubbery. The shrimp and scallops were okay. All in all, a 2.5 but I'll round up to 3. I wish that I can find a local middle of the road establishment that delivers the goods but my quest continues!

Pistachio Ricotta pie...yum!

Very pleasantly surprised! Very moderately priced for what you get! Everything is homemade & cooked to order. The service was friendly & efficient. The drinks were low in price & high in quality! The decor is a little outdated but everything is immaculate! Give this restaurant a try...you won't be dis

Overall not bad, pretty similar to Tony's (Previous Owners). The pizza was a really good greek style with fresh ingredients. Crispy crust that was pillowy inside, and cut in triangles. Which is unusual for that style pizza crust, but we are close to New Haven so the hybrid style is not lost on me. The salad said mixed greens but was all iceberg, I guess they meant it was mixed-up? Either way 4 stars, we would come back for the portions if nothing else.

took backroads on my way home & @ intersection looked over to see a new restaurant ( at least to me! open for a year!) walked in and was greeted by a stunningly beautiful & competant Kelsie. she is the mixologist & takes great pride in her mixing skills. pistaccio or espresso martini anyone? i was first impressed by the cleanliness, and the bar: its comfortable and is a great local bar with a "regulars" following. i caught some of the loval flavor at the bar. very funny." felt comfortable immediately. really good HH MENU, and their regular menu is compact, manageable & satisfying to just about every taste. prices are teasonable; they are working on a patio for better weather. had a very pleasant experience here. hamburger & truffle fries satisfying, very fresh & hearty. they do have karaoke & trivia nights which i am planning on catching soon. this place is proving to be alot of fun, right off 691 old exit 3 new exit 7 & half mile down the street from Vyron Rondos & smack next to Sam the Clams, so i can imagine they would get alot of traffic from people who dont want to wait the hour & a half @ Vyrons. looking forward to the patio!

I've known about this place for a while, and a friend reminded me that they recently changed locations. We were seated in the bar area at a high table and were given two menus: a happy hour menu that lasted until 6 PM and their regular menu. We figured we'd order a few things off of their happy hour menu while it was still going on, then move on to the regular menu after 6 PM, since we knew we'd be there for at least a couple of hours. We ordered a shrimp appetizer, gnocchi, fries, wine, and a white Cosmo to start. My absolute favorite was the grilled shrimp appetizer, even though the other two were very good as well. My friend's favorite was the gnocchi. From the regular menu, I ordered the ham and cheese croquettes and she ordered the regular cheese croquettes since she is vegetarian. We loved those as well. These four tapas were enough to serve as our dinner and we didn't have to order anything else. The service was fantastic and I thought that everything was priced very well. I liked that there was a parking lot right next-door. A friend met us. Later on for a final drink and mentioned that he liked this new location better than the old location. I would definitely return and try different tapas. Their entrées also looked very good. I really like this location because you can walk around and do other things after dinner in the area.

There is an areas where it is more intimate and quieter and another area where there are high tables that are close to the bar area. Service in the bar area and in the dining area were both wonderful. Both the waitress and bartender were awesome! I liked that the menu had items labeled gluten free. Always makes it easier. It was 3 of us that came out to celebrate my birthday and 2 of us ordered an entree and our other friend ordered tapas. We were all very happy with it. I had the grilled salmon and it was perfect! Since we got there a bit early we had enough time to order from the happy hour menu so we ordered Grilled Shrimp and Escargot and drinks of course. I love that they have a tray of desserts to showcase! Makes it easy or hard to choose from because they all look so good! I must say prices were good, service was wonderful, food was delicious! We all agreed we would go back!

Overall experience wasn't the best but definitely worth another chance.

It was also well decorated for the Fall Season. There were a few employees that were visible at times, but they weren't organized in such a way to provide a typical lunch experience. The person who was working the bar also served as hostess and my server in the main eating area. So I waited a minute or so at the host stand to be greeted while she finished a drink. There was also hammering in the kitchen area for a decent part of my lunch. My server was very nice though and hustled to try to meet everyone's needs. I believe Ideal Tavern recently won the Southington Wing Fest. So I wanted to try the wings. I asked my server what the most popular wing flavors are and she didn't have an answer. I ordered the Sweet Chili Gorgonzola because it looked like the most interesting option. I also ordered an Ideal BLT Burger. The wings and burger were brought together, which I didn't ask for. That obviously defeats the purpose of ordering an app. The wings were meaty and had great texture. They were more glazed than sauced. I thought the Gorgonzola component would be more of a sauce but there were actual pieces of Gorgonzola cheese. The Gorgonzola was good quality. The burger was big and cooked to my requested medium rare. I didn't note any seasoning. The burger came with cheddar, which isn't the best melting cheese. You could tell they tried to melt the cheese, but the cheese broke off rather than stretched when I pulled at the side. The bacon seemed like it was probably high quality, possibly uncured bacon. The texture of it wasn't great for a burger. It was hard in parts and too difficult to chew. I also wish the LT part of the BLT had a bit more focus. I didn't think the Truffle Aioli worked for a BLT either. The fries had kind of a unique wide swoop cut style. I think Ideal Tavern could pay a bit more attention to the details of what makes a good customer experience. They have some good things to work with though. 3.75

First time coming to this bar and will have to say this is a hidden gem. Michaela was at the bar…read moreand she did an amazing job. She kept conversation going, was quick with the drinks and made sure we got our food order right before the kitchen closed. I came in not knowing the wings are on sale, so I opted in for the garlic Parmesan and the Nashville hot dry rub. These wings are definitely on my top 5 places to go for wings! They were full of meat, flavor and were very crispy! We also got the strawberry limeade which came with sour patch strawberries. I will definitely come back as the vibes were chill and the service was great

My sons and I are in search for hidden wing gems throughout the state. Yes, we love J.Tim's,…read moreappreciate the local flair of O-Joe's (both locations), and even admire the smoked wings in an around Torrington. Someone gave me the tip to try these as he thought they would "compete" with the aforementioned. For the first 5 min of my visit, I thought it might be the case. Here are the reasons to ABSOLUTELY GO!!!!! Even if a 30-45 min drive. 1) SERVICE - simply fantastic. Huge thanks to Destiny and the kitchen for making my experience great. 2) ATMOSPHERE - THIS IS the place I want to come to watch the games, for the long haul in the fall or playoff time! Great lighting. Music gives way to the game. Locals. Golf and bowling games. You name it. Fantastic. 3) THEIR BLUE CHEESE - unique. Delicious. Clearly house made. Makes the wing experience better. Here are the reasons I would only go if convenient: 1) THE FOOD - My chili to start only said beef chili on the menu. On first bite, there was a stinging salty taste of BACON. I have no problem eating bacon, but should say it on the menu for those who do not. And, that flavor profile is not what chili evokes. 2) THE WINGS - when the blue cheese and veggies came out, I was almost hyperventilating with excitement. The wings then came. Huge let down. Without going into the subtleties of the sauces, I'm more focused on deciding if they were frozen-pre-breaded wings or fresh wings with a salty/shake and bake coating on them. They're huge. They're crispy (kitchen is good). They're just not a traditional wing (should also say coated on the menu). 3) THEIR OIL - one of my wings was a delicious lemon pepper dry rub. So much promise. So crispy. Then, the flavor transfer hit. They must have fried fish on the menu. Same/old fry oil So my wings without a sauce (dry rub) tasted faintly of fried cod. Gross. I will go back. I liked the staff and feel enough. It could be fun. But it's not the hidden wing Mecca I will continue to search for. Service, feel, blue cheese earn all the stars.
