Great authentic Italian food and dessert. Friendly attentive service. Great atmosphere. Our fourth visit. Highly recommend.

Nice atmosphere and good selection of meals available, and friendly staff. However, service was not good. Hostess seated us in a tight booth with a large torn seat, while many other booths were available. Replace the torn seat or don't seat customers there. The waitress suggested a regular booth, just 2 away from the one she originally seated us at, so we moved. We thought it was a joke, but it wasn't. The new booth was great, but there was no table set up until we asked for utensils and napkins. Water tasted chlorinated. After ordering the food arrived quickly.. too quickly, and should have been spaced out; drinks and bread, appetizers, and main course. Food was piping hot! Too hot to enjoy and burned mouth, making the taste unenjoyable until cooled. Soup was boiling in crock bowl. Someone should be checking the temperatures in the kitchen, before sending it out to be served. Appetizer was served without small side plates and had to ask for them. The added flower was a nice touch, but taste of food was hit or miss. White ventilation vents appeared dirty on the walls, and were mounted high up on the wall in the main dining area. Someone should clean them. Sorry, but I think this restaurant could better. It was my first time going there, and would consider going back knowing that my concerns were addressed with staff and corrected. Locals love this restaurant. We went on Valentine's Day. We had looked at the menu online. It looked good. We arrived only to find a special Valentine menu. Our waitress brought drinks and app fast. The apps and drinks were great. Well then she just disappeared.We had to flag her down for drinks. I want to say over an hour went by. we still had not received our meals. Our second drinks were about gone. We were finally served our meals. Now not just mine but my other three guests were not very pleased. Our meals were tasteless could not even eat it. so fast forward our dessert was even worse. Then came the check. We could not believe it. It was almost 270.00 dollars. We were charged extra for peppers in our Calamari and ice cream for our cake. If you don't want to go home broke and disgusted don't go there. read more

New bar area looks great. Tony's old interior and pink booths remain. Nothing in this restaurant would draw me to the bar as there is no fun/hip/friendly vibe and the bar is hidden. Food 2/5. Dinner rolls were honestly the highlight. The "honey butter" they came w was just lazy. A dish of butter w a drizzle of honey atop. Made me sad to see the lack of infused butter effort. We were looking forward to trying out Morava, the reviews online have been looking good. The restaurant was very clean if a bit dated and I really wish our waitress introduced herself. This personal touch is something that helps me to want to come back, establishing that personal connection. The rolls were a great start but unfortunately they were the best part of the meal. With perfect crust and texture they set the standard high for the remainder of the meal. We ordered calamari with hot peppers on the side (since my wife isn't a fan of high heat foods) and seafood stuffed mushrooms. The calamari (small as it was) serving came out with the peppers mixed in and our waitress acknowledged this but only offered to bring out a fork to let us fish them out of the rest of the calamari; not something I expected to have to do at a restaurant with table service. The seafood stuffed mushrooms were okay but not remarkable and tasted as thought they were previously prepared and frozen and baked. The entrees: My wife had the Taste of Italy with Penne and mozazarella cheese, manicotti, stuffed shells, sausage, and meatball. The meatball was overly dense but tasty and the sausage had little flavor. I ordered seafood fra diavolo. The pasta tasted like it was out of a box and not fresh and the sauce only had heat from adding in pickled hot peppers. This was not what I was expecting from a dish costing nearly $40.00. Oh, and the seafood... the clams were cooked so long there was barely any meat in them and the mussels were rubbery. The shrimp and scallops were okay. All in all, a 2.5 but I'll round up to 3. I wish that I can find a local middle of the road establishment that delivers the goods but my quest continues! read more

Ordered pizza from Morava this evening and were told it would be ready in 25-30. I picked it up at 25 and it seemed cool. Got home and put it in the oven to heat for a few. Surprised. This restaurant is truly a hidden golden gem. My hubby and I decided to go some place new to celebrate our birthdays and when researching found this incredible restaurant right here in town. The food was absolutely phenomenal. The bread is homemade and baked on the premises (best we have ever had in any restaurant) and my hubby and I had chicken Morava and chicken saltimbocca both of which were absolutely delicious. Even my peach ice tea was perfect LOL. The atmosphere was just so comfortable and friendly and the prices are incredibly reasonable. We were completely overwhelmed with how friendly the entire wait staff was. We had two absolutely beautiful servers with the most delightful personalities, Gina and Joanna. Together with yet another charming server, Dita, they sang Happy Birthday to us (as did patrons dining in the restaurant) and brought out dessert on the house with birthday candles. As if all of that wasn't enough, we were pleasantly surprised to have the owner Adrian come out to say hello and chat with us for a bit sharing much about his personal life. His lovely wife Mamica made our reservation and extended birthday wishes as well. What a delightful dining experience it was and what a blessing to meet a group of such gracious, beautiful people. As it turns out, we learned that their pizza dough is the same dough as the fresh baked bread so we are headed back to Morava tomorrow on the last weekend day of our birthday celebrations to try their homemade pizza. If you are looking for a cozy place to have a delicious, affordable dinner coupled with a wonderful dining experience and the friendliest of staffs, then Morava is the spot for you! Trust me. Our first visit. I really wanted to give 5 stars but couldnt quite get there. Kudos on the service! The young ladies who took care of us did a GREAT job! Very positive and super helpful. The food was mostly great- I had shortrib over mashed potato and it was excellent- tender & flavorful. My wife had an Italian sampler and said it was top-shelf and she brought home a generous amount. For dessert I had berry gelato and my wife had cheesecake with blackberry topping. Both were perfectly sized. The couple we were with had chicken Diana & tiramisu (wife) and Seafood Fra Diavolo and triple chocolate cake (husband). Everything they had was great except the side of vegetables that the wife ordered. It was severely overcooked and lifeless. When she mentioned it to the server, she removed it from the bill- no questions asked. The other issue we had was that the AC system didnt cool the place all that much. It was a hot & muggy day today and when we were initially seated in a booth, it was stifling in the corner of the room. Fortunately they were able to re-seat us at a table in the middle of the floor and it was MUCH better. So overall, we will DEFINITELY go back because the food was terrific and the service was A+. Worst dining experience ever. I ordered a Tonic Water and told the waitress I am diabetic so just "plain Tonic water". She gave me tonic water flavored with some sort of synthetic tasting lime/lemon mixture which, of course, has sugar in it. The they kept giving us other peoples orders. My girlfriend finally ate one rather than return it and wait. I got someone else's order and the waitress finally came and got it to the right patron. After 40 minutes my order never came and when I told the waitress that I wanted to cancel my order as we were leaving she disappeared for 10 minutes and came back with my order telling me I had to pay for it as "its here now." Overall not bad, pretty similar to Tony's (Previous Owners). The pizza was a really good greek style with fresh ingredients. Crispy crust that was pillowy inside, and cut in triangles. Which is unusual for that style pizza crust, but we are close to New Haven so the hybrid style is not lost on me. The salad said mixed greens but was all iceberg, I guess they meant it was mixed-up? Either way 4 stars, we would come back for the portions if nothing else. read more

My BF and I had a late dinner. I wanted to try this since I drive by it every day. Inside is nice and looks like a bar is getting ready to open and it's beautiful. It was a Weds night. There were 5 of us in my party. There was another couple in there when we arrived around 6 pm. I will preface by saying - I hadn't been in there when the restaurant was Tony's. It looks like there may have been some updates (floors/bar area) but the booths/tables and some of the decor still need some serious updating. Our waitress Colleen was sweet. Good sense of humor. Engaging but not overwhelming. She also seemed to be the bar tender, and for as long as dinner took to come out (about an hour) - she may have been the cook as well (I'm not joking). I had the Mor-tini to start. It had vanilla vodka and passion fruit liqueur - right up my ally. It was sweet but delicious. A friend had the cosmo - it tasted good but she felt like it had no booze in it. For appetizers we had wings (mediocre) and fried mozzarella (also mediocre). Their sauce wasn't my favorite but I'm Italian and I feel like that always means it's hit or miss for me. 2 ladies in the group had the chicken skewers, which they loved (but note - the menu said it was served with quinoa and instead it was served with wild rice). Another friend had the apple walnut salad with shrimp, which looked delicious. Someone had a whole chicken parm grinder which was some cut up chicken tenders with a scant amount of sauce and not enough mozzarella. It was very underwhelming. I had the chicken Diane with penne instead of mashed potatoes. The pasta was a hair over cooked . The chicken was good - served with capers, artichokes and mushrooms in a lemon sauce. Unfortunately, nothing was memorable. Also - be sure to check your bill. Thankfully we did and noticed we were charged for an extra martini. She was very apologetic and blamed it on learning the computer system. No big deal but just double check. I'll give them another try in a couple months after they've hopefully made some more updates but mostly so they can get the timing/food down a bit better! read more

took backroads on my way home & @ intersection looked over to see a new restaurant ( at least to me! open for a year!) walked in and was greeted by a stunningly beautiful & competant Kelsie. she is the mixologist & takes great pride in her mixing skills. pistaccio or espresso martini anyone? i was first impressed by the cleanliness, and the bar: its comfortable and is a great local bar with a "regulars" following. i caught some of the loval flavor at the bar. very funny." felt comfortable immediately. really good HH MENU, and their regular menu is compact, manageable & satisfying to just about every taste. prices are teasonable; they are working on a patio for better weather. had a very pleasant experience here. hamburger & truffle fries satisfying, very fresh & hearty. they do have karaoke & trivia nights which i am planning on catching soon. this place is proving to be alot of fun, right off 691 old exit 3 new exit 7 & half mile down the street from Vyron Rondos & smack next to Sam the Clams, so i can imagine they would get alot of traffic from people who dont want to wait the hour & a half @ Vyrons. looking forward to the patio! read more

I went for lunch and it was just ok. I had turkey triple decker and bread warm not toasted. Roast beef grinder ordered by another was delayed to table because they had to thaw the meat . Another had a chicken, artichoke and caper dish that he liked. Service was fine and atmosphere good and clean. We waited 23minutes for the server to take our drink order. The burger was a thin frozen patty. The server brought out 6 rolls of bread for 8 people. We got the other two rolls right before we got the check. There was a mandatory 20% tip for terrible service. They charged full price for each drink refill and the root beer was poured out of a 2 liter bottle. We had a 21st Birthday dinner party and Stefan was the most gracious and accommodating waiter, he stored 2 Birthday Cakes and our Pizza's were amazing. He was very pleasant and very helpful making sure we had everything we needed. He even cut the cake free of charge (considering we brought the cakes in) I will DEFINITELY come back for dinner and karaoke on Thursdays going forward. Bravo Stefan! My review is strictly for the food alone because I can deal with a waitress that doesn't want to work on Sunday around noon. There were 4 of us and everyone loved their dish. The chicken parm was one of the best my daughter has had. The sauce was flavorful and the portion was huge. My wife and I both had chicken dishes and both were full of flavor and the chicken was tender and not over cooked. Just as I was bitching about not getting bread, it came out warm and fresh. We have been there twice in the past month with friends. Their baked stuffed shrimp, stuffed fillet of sole, seafood fra diavolo, broiled scallops and chicken marsala were all very good.
