One of my favorite spots in Southington! They've got a great mix of old and new games, good music, and drinks for 21+. They added a second floor this year I believe and it's only made the place better. GameCraft Arcade was a lot of fun and much bigger than it first looks. Make sure to check out the second floor and the back corner--there's a ton of pinball and way more machines than I expected initially. A lot of the games are vintage, which adds to the fun. It does get crowded at times, and some games become harder to get on, but that's to be expected. It's a 21+ spot (except on Family Day Sundays), with plenty of drink options and a solid bar setup. What really surprised me was how affordable the gaming was. Ten bucks in tokens went much further here than at most arcades, especially compared to places where every game costs at least a dollar. Reminds me of being a kid with a roll of quarters... Whether you're looking to hang out with friends and revisit games you haven't seen in decades, or you just want a time warp into an era that might pre-date you entirely, it's a fun spot. I briefly felt a little old, but the crowd was mixed enough--and the nostalgia hit strong enough--that I stopped thinking about that pretty quickly. 3 hours ago New I suppose you are wondering how an awesome pinball arcade could get a 1-star rating from someone who LOVES pinball and does reviews for a major pinball website but the answer is simple, BAD BUSINESS. Before leaving on an over 45 minute drive with my 9-year old daughter during the only 5 hours a week that they even allow kids into the arcade (1-6 on Sundays), I went on their website to read all about it only to get there to an empty arcade with 2 guys at the counter who told me it was closed for a private party that started in 30 minutes I asked them how I was supposed to know that and the "manager" said there was a sign on the door. I'm not kidding. He actually said that. I asked him if my daughter could play for a few minutes until the event started and they said no. They didn't offer her a voucher for a later visit. We just had to drive home. Ruined the day. Bottom line, don't take on a private party that takes up BOTH of your floors on the only day kids are allowed in. They have 2 floors and still kicked us out. Unreal. If I could give them a zero star rating I would. Really a bummer. read more

GameCraft Arcade was super fun! A group from work and I went to check out the games and drinks. The room was low lit so the lights of the game cabinets could illuminate the room. Classic games, pinball machines, Pac-Man, DDR and Guitar Hero, there was a wide variety of games to play. Most games costed 2 tokens or 2 tokens for each player if you played a multi-player game. You purchase the tokens at the bar. They will ask for ID! We got the cheapest option, 20 tokens for $5. You can purchase more if you need them. A lot of people in my group had wished that you'd get prizes for the games, but it didn't bother me. This was not like a Dave & Busters or Chucky Cheese. It was very chill and no kids. A few of us got drinks and surprisingly GameCraft had a lot to offer. They had draft beer, cocktails, mocktails, and soda. I was happy to see that they had non-alcoholic options. How have I never been here before?! We had such a blast coming here on a Saturday night. At around 9:30PM GameCraft was PACKED! It was so fun to see people play mariokart on large tv screens above the bar (instead of watching a sports game haha). When it's busy you definitely have to wait your turn for a bit for a popular game but it's worth it. They also have a cool variety of pinball machines ranging from stranger things, Star Wars and lord of the rings. We had a blast facing off on guitar hero, Pac-Man, and DDR. The bar was also a cool touch! They have specialty drinks based on different games- loved that. Oh and one of the coolest parts is how you can purchase a pouch of coins to play the games. GameCraft Arcade is a craft beer bar and classic video arcade that opened in Southington, Connecticut in January 2020. It was founded by brothers Brody, Chris, Bryan and Brandon Marion as well as their friends Alpert and Elise Sanford. The Marion Brothers had been interested in opening their own arcade bar for 10 years before they finally decided to make it happen. Southington's Factory Square was chosen as the location of the bar because the building and its floor plan matched what the brothers were looking for. The building was originally home to the Southington Manufacturing Company (circa 1883). The complex was converted into a mixed-use property in 1985. The arcade features more than 30 arcade cabinets and pinball games with some of them dating back to the 1970s. The bar has 16 local craft beers on draught as well as various canned beers and arcade-inspired cocktails. I recently stopped at GameCraft for the first time while I was cycling by on the Farmington Canal Heritage Trail. Factory Square is located conveniently alongside the trail. One thing I love about the building is that it's home to so many cool businesses: including Witchdoctor Brewing Company, Perkatory Coffee Roasters, Rosie's Royal Chocolates, Montana Nights Axe-Throwing, and Leaps & Bones. I really loved the wide variety of arcade games available at GameCraft. Some of the cabinets are classic games from the 1980s and some were more recent releases. At the bar, I started off with a pour of Witchdoctor Brewing's "How Pie Are You???": a delicious sour beer brewed with blueberries and graham crackers. Afterwards I ordered a pour of Hoax Brewing's "Intergalactic Space Rainbows": a sour inspired by Rainbow Sherbet. I also got $5 worth of tokens and decided to play some games. I played a few games of Donkey Kong while sipping on that delicious sour beer. I noticed a wide range of ages in the bar ranging from young children to senior citizens. I finished off the rest of my tokens playing a brand new pinball machine inspired by my favorite band of all time: RUSH!! Unbelievable is my first response. As we walk in we see many pinball and "retro" arcade games. I order a drink and the bartender says "It's state law that you have to order food if you order a drink!" So knowing they don't serve food I ask for a menu. She says "We don't have menus for food! We have cheese and crackers for $5." Which they made and served in a plastic cup. No nutrition information, just a sticker with the business name on it. So I have to buy it. The drink I ordered had almost no alcohol and tasted like a sugar drink! So we played some games, $.50 a game with their tokens. As we take a break we see kids at the bar, getting free drinks from their friend the bartender, no food ordered, and we couldn't leave fast enough. A side note to the management: we are in our 40's and have disposable income. We are the people you want there, not 19 year olds jeopardizing your license. I had so much fun here. The games are all set up to use tokens that you buy at the bar. There is a good selection of games - I'm very glad I was here early on a Tuesday, because this place filled up! I can't imagine what a weekend night might look like. The games are kept in good condition, a necessity for token-operated play. I find that if it's a timed wristband scenario, the business is less likely to keep the games in pristine condition. Tons of pinball right as you walk in, then the arcade style games are around the corner to the right of the bar. I would say this place prioritizes pinball, and has a good selection of old, new, and very new games. The parking lot is vast with little to no lines. You'll notice as the lot begins to fill up, people create their own rows to park in. The entrance is a little misleading, trust the door in the back. read more

Came here to celebrate my husbands birthday (33) and we had a blast. The arcade has almost everything you'd want. Most of the group stayed at the bar playing Switch games (Smash Bros, Mario Cart, etc- they only had a handful of choices but they were exactly what we wanted) Guitar Hero is my personal favorite so I really enjoyed the nostalgia of rocking out. They also have Mortal Kombat, a huge selection of pin ball- which was a classic favorite, an interesting take on air hockey... and a ton of other games to play. The bartender was friendly, they have a huge selection of cleverly named cocktails and craft beer. The only two things they're lacking in my opinion? Dance Dance Revolution and bar food. They're located in Factory Square and if you're there after the neighboring businesses are closed- there's nothing to eat nearby. (We were there at 7pm on a Monday and everything else was closed.) Other than that- it was exactly what we wanted and needed. Token prices weren't too bad, they have $10, $20, $40 options. I spent way more than I needed to on tokens because I didn't realize they had a 200 token option for less than what I was paying (You can get 200 tokens for $40, but I didn't see that at first and bought multiple $20 for less tokens. That's my bad.) I didn't notice that there was not an exact number of tokens - I had counted them to divvy out to my friends and for example, there was supposed to be 40 tokens but there was only 38. An absolutely blast from the past right in the heart of the Southington town area. A little hard to figure out where it was I ended up taking advantage of the parking near the walking trails and cut across the back of the industrial building that housed the business. Walking in with some friends, we got excited as we saw old games like Gauntlet Dark Legacies along with the Simpsons, House of the Dead 2 and many other games both single player and multi-player with pinball by one wall. An arcade and bar all in one if you don't want to stand and play an older game you can park yourself at the bar and enjoy fortnite or Mario kart. The draft selection is pretty local and offer variety letting us enjoy some different brews while admiring the high top tables and the bar which had old NES cartridges in them. One of the high tables was the old Golden Zelda cartridge that I remember blowing into to try to make it work before slaying same monsters. You'll be able to purchase a small loot bag of coins to play the games, most of them two coins apiece. We took the coins home and will return to finish them. We were transported back to a time where coin after coin were fed into XMen and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles all hoping to beat the level and game before that last token ran out. read more

Just go because they have Crazy Taxi. For the record, one of the most fun coin op games ever made. So I stopped in tonight. It's Monday. I made my family dinner. I had no plans. I thought it might be fun to burn some time at a new business before I watched some Netflix or Hulu on a work night. Game Craft here I come. So the first thing I should mention is that the tap list tonight was pretty diverse. I was able to order a Pilsner, a Munich Dunkel and an American Pale Ale. While there were IPAs of very strengths, you could totally bring your friends that aren't hop heads and they can have a good time. I'm mostly into traditional European beer and this was a plus for me. The bartender was very nice to me. Conversational. Gave me a sample or two of some local stuff that I had no experience with. I would describe the service as personable. Video games? Stuff that I loved at 11-16. Mortal Kombat 2. Street Fighter 2. Some of the side scroller button mashers like the Simpsons and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. They had a side scroller Spider-Man game that I was unfamiliar with but it was pretty dope. Marvel vs. Capcom. They had five or six pinball machines as well. I enjoyed playing the Walking Dead , Super Mario bros and Deadpool. Also they carry 20 drafts and another 30 different beers and other libations! Drink up and play the driving games! The crowd is young gamers and my type of people! They were packed to the gills when we went back in for the second time last night. Well first we went in around five, very light traffic, stayed for about an hour , had a beer, played some games, went for dinner (stay tuned) and then came back in about eight, packed ! It's got the arcade games you want to play. Cool concept, in a warehouse. Pinball and video cabinets all worked however the volume on most are turned down way too much. We happened upon this place by accident. My husband was looking for a craft beer brew pub and saw this. We had our 15 year old son with us so we knew he would like it. When we first got there. I was a little upset because there were reserved signs at every spot including the bar. We got there at 5:30, and they were having trivia at 7:00. But the bartenders let us sit at the bar.
