Cool place to play different arcade games and have drinks. Staff is friendly. Prices are fair. They recently opened up a second floor here with more cool arcade games and an additional bar.

We went for the first time last night with friends and had a blast! I actually like it here better than Barcade in New Haven. More machines, more room, plus it's two floors. Such a fun night out!

A Pixel-Powered Paradise Two floors. Over 100 arcade and pinball games. If you're even remotely nostalgic for flashing lights, 8-bit soundtracks, and flippers that defy gravity, GameCraft Arcade is a must-visit. Games range from 1 to 4 tokens, with most pinball machines running at just 2-3 tokens per play. I grabbed the Sack ($10 for 40 tokens) and easily got an hour and a half of gameplay out of it. Token pack options are clearly laid out, and the value is strong -- especially if you're a flipper fanatic or just want to button mash your way to glory. Token Packs: Purse: $5 for 20 tokens Sack: $10 for 40 tokens Satchel: $20 for 80 tokens Adventurer's Pack: $45 for 200 tokens The drink menu deserves its own bonus level -- themed shots like Kirby's Dreamshot, mocktails like Koopa Beach, and even non-alcoholic beers for the designated Jedi. Seriously, there's something for every kind of player here. Added to my Yelp favorites without hesitation. This place hits the high score for fun, nostalgia, and good vibes. Whether you're on a solo quest or bringing the whole party, this arcade is worth the tokens.

Always a good time! We come for the drinks, haven't had something I didn't like yet, and some fun games! All the machines are clean and feels real nostalgic. The staff is amazing, only recommendation is to invest in the outdoor area parking and lighting would be nice. At night if you don't know where you're going, you could miss it! Great place and vibes though

Safe to say just found my new favorite arcade in Connecticut. Ever since leaving Austin I've been looking for a place that is the best of it all and I'm happy to say that this place has it all. from the impressive drink menu to the array of games! The music and the fact that it's 21+ makes this my new favorite spot.

GameCraft Arcade was super fun! A group from work and I went to check out the games and drinks. The room was low lit so the lights of the game cabinets could illuminate the room. Classic games, pinball machines, Pac-Man, DDR and Guitar Hero, there was a wide variety of games to play. Most games costed 2 tokens or 2 tokens for each player if you played a multi-player game. You purchase the tokens at the bar. They will ask for ID! We got the cheapest option, 20 tokens for $5. You can purchase more if you need them. A lot of people in my group had wished that you'd get prizes for the games, but it didn't bother me. This was not like a Dave & Busters or Chucky Cheese. It was very chill and no kids. A few of us got drinks and surprisingly GameCraft had a lot to offer. They had draft beer, cocktails, mocktails, and soda. I was happy to see that they had non-alcoholic options. I can see us as regulars at GameCraft since it's near our office. I found a few tokens in my pocket that I'll need to go back and use.

How have I never been here before?! We had such a blast coming here on a Saturday night. At around 9:30PM GameCraft was PACKED! It was so fun to see people play mariokart on large tv screens above the bar (instead of watching a sports game haha). When it's busy you definitely have to wait your turn for a bit for a popular game but it's worth it. They also have a cool variety of pinball machines ranging from stranger things, Star Wars and lord of the rings. We had a blast facing off on guitar hero, Pac-Man, and DDR. The bar was also a cool touch! They have specialty drinks based on different games- loved that. Oh and one of the coolest parts is how you can purchase a pouch of coins to play the games. Makes the whole experience that much special. We celebrated my husband's 30th here and stayed til close. We had so much fun and can't wait to come back!

In Southington, the games take actual tokens, I like that each game has a place for your drink. The games are big nostalgia if you grew up in the 80's and 90's however, some games I only played for 30 seconds. Frogger, Donkey Kong, and Pong killed me off so fast!!

GameCraft Arcade is a craft beer bar and classic video arcade that opened in Southington, Connecticut in January 2020. It was founded by brothers Brody, Chris, Bryan and Brandon Marion as well as their friends Alpert and Elise Sanford. The Marion Brothers had been interested in opening their own arcade bar for 10 years before they finally decided to make it happen. Southington's Factory Square was chosen as the location of the bar because the building and its floor plan matched what the brothers were looking for. The building was originally home to the Southington Manufacturing Company (circa 1883). The complex was converted into a mixed-use property in 1985. The arcade features more than 30 arcade cabinets and pinball games with some of them dating back to the 1970s. The bar has 16 local craft beers on draught as well as various canned beers and arcade-inspired cocktails. I recently stopped at GameCraft for the first time while I was cycling by on the Farmington Canal Heritage Trail. Factory Square is located conveniently alongside the trail. One thing I love about the building is that it's home to so many cool businesses: including Witchdoctor Brewing Company, Perkatory Coffee Roasters, Rosie's Royal Chocolates, Montana Nights Axe-Throwing, and Leaps & Bones. I really loved the wide variety of arcade games available at GameCraft. Some of the cabinets are classic games from the 1980s and some were more recent releases. At the bar, I started off with a pour of Witchdoctor Brewing's "How Pie Are You???": a delicious sour beer brewed with blueberries and graham crackers. Afterwards I ordered a pour of Hoax Brewing's "Intergalactic Space Rainbows": a sour inspired by Rainbow Sherbet. I also got $5 worth of tokens and decided to play some games. I played a few games of Donkey Kong while sipping on that delicious sour beer. I noticed a wide range of ages in the bar ranging from young children to senior citizens. I finished off the rest of my tokens playing a brand new pinball machine inspired by my favorite band of all time: RUSH!! I had a fantastic experience at GameCraft and look forward to returning.

Gamecraft was a lot of fun especially the 4 player Pac-Man game. It has a lot of draft beer and cocktail options. Many games to choose from and cost play is reasonable.

Super fun place! Didn't have to bring cash to buy the tokens, can put them right in your card. Everything was pretty expensive which was awesome! Had a good amount of fun for $10 over an hour with 3 people! Only reason there's a 4 instead of a 5 is because there were no coatracks, the fun cocktail cups for 2 you had to share at the bar and the popular games it would be nice to have 2 of.

This is the $5 food you must legally buy to get a drink

I've known about this place for a while, and a friend reminded me that they recently changed locations. We were seated in the bar area at a high table and were given two menus: a happy hour menu that lasted until 6 PM and their regular menu. We figured we'd order a few things off of their happy hour menu while it was still going on, then move on to the regular menu after 6 PM, since we knew we'd be there for at least a couple of hours. We ordered a shrimp appetizer, gnocchi, fries, wine, and a white Cosmo to start. My absolute favorite was the grilled shrimp appetizer, even though the other two were very good as well. My friend's favorite was the gnocchi. From the regular menu, I ordered the ham and cheese croquettes and she ordered the regular cheese croquettes since she is vegetarian. We loved those as well. These four tapas were enough to serve as our dinner and we didn't have to order anything else. The service was fantastic and I thought that everything was priced very well. I liked that there was a parking lot right next-door. A friend met us. Later on for a final drink and mentioned that he liked this new location better than the old location. I would definitely return and try different tapas. Their entrées also looked very good. I really like this location because you can walk around and do other things after dinner in the area.

It was 3 of us that came out to celebrate my birthday and 2 of us ordered an entree and our other friend ordered tapas. We were all very happy with it. I had the grilled salmon and it was perfect! Since we got there a bit early we had enough time to order from the happy hour menu so we ordered Grilled Shrimp and Escargot and drinks of course. I love that they have a tray of desserts to showcase! Makes it easy or hard to choose from because they all look so good! I must say prices were good, service was wonderful, food was delicious! We all agreed we would go back!

It was also well decorated for the Fall Season. There were a few employees that were visible at times, but they weren't organized in such a way to provide a typical lunch experience. The person who was working the bar also served as hostess and my server in the main eating area. So I waited a minute or so at the host stand to be greeted while she finished a drink. There was also hammering in the kitchen area for a decent part of my lunch. My server was very nice though and hustled to try to meet everyone's needs. I believe Ideal Tavern recently won the Southington Wing Fest. So I wanted to try the wings. I asked my server what the most popular wing flavors are and she didn't have an answer. I ordered the Sweet Chili Gorgonzola because it looked like the most interesting option. I also ordered an Ideal BLT Burger. The wings and burger were brought together, which I didn't ask for. That obviously defeats the purpose of ordering an app. The wings were meaty and had great texture. They were more glazed than sauced. I thought the Gorgonzola component would be more of a sauce but there were actual pieces of Gorgonzola cheese. The Gorgonzola was good quality. The burger was big and cooked to my requested medium rare. I didn't note any seasoning. The burger came with cheddar, which isn't the best melting cheese. You could tell they tried to melt the cheese, but the cheese broke off rather than stretched when I pulled at the side. The bacon seemed like it was probably high quality, possibly uncured bacon. The texture of it wasn't great for a burger. It was hard in parts and too difficult to chew. I also wish the LT part of the BLT had a bit more focus. I didn't think the Truffle Aioli worked for a BLT either. The fries had kind of a unique wide swoop cut style. I think Ideal Tavern could pay a bit more attention to the details of what makes a good customer experience. They have some good things to work with though. 3.75

Yes, we love J.Tim's,…read moreappreciate the local flair of O-Joe's (both locations), and even admire the smoked wings in an around Torrington. Someone gave me the tip to try these as he thought they would "compete" with the aforementioned. For the first 5 min of my visit, I thought it might be the case. Here are the reasons to ABSOLUTELY GO!!!!! Even if a 30-45 min drive. 1) SERVICE - simply fantastic. Huge thanks to Destiny and the kitchen for making my experience great. 2) ATMOSPHERE - THIS IS the place I want to come to watch the games, for the long haul in the fall or playoff time! Great lighting. Music gives way to the game. Locals. Golf and bowling games. You name it. Fantastic. 3) THEIR BLUE CHEESE - unique. Delicious. Clearly house made. Makes the wing experience better. Here are the reasons I would only go if convenient: 1) THE FOOD - My chili to start only said beef chili on the menu. On first bite, there was a stinging salty taste of BACON. I have no problem eating bacon, but should say it on the menu for those who do not. And, that flavor profile is not what chili evokes. 2) THE WINGS - when the blue cheese and veggies came out, I was almost hyperventilating with excitement. The wings then came. Huge let down. Without going into the subtleties of the sauces, I'm more focused on deciding if they were frozen-pre-breaded wings or fresh wings with a salty/shake and bake coating on them. They're huge. They're crispy (kitchen is good). They're just not a traditional wing (should also say coated on the menu). 3) THEIR OIL - one of my wings was a delicious lemon pepper dry rub. So much promise. So crispy. Then, the flavor transfer hit. They must have fried fish on the menu. Same/old fry oil So my wings without a sauce (dry rub) tasted faintly of fried cod. Gross. I will go back. I liked the staff and feel enough. It could be fun. But it's not the hidden wing Mecca I will continue to search for. Service, feel, blue cheese earn all the stars.
