    Everything is awesome!

We were traveling for work and the hotel suggested we check out Pig Rig. We were not disappointed! The BBQ baked beans were awesome. It is kind of unfair to just call them baked beans, there is so much going on that it could be the entree by itself. Whatever you get make sure that bbq baked beans is one of them. The brisket is shredded not sliced and I loved it (6) different sauces and they are all great. The food was awesome and the staff were just as great! The owners were super friendly and I will definitely be returning. Hidden gem in CT for sure!

This was my first time trying The Pig Rig and the locals were right, this place is the best. The half rack of ribs combo was incredible. The meat was fall-off-the-bone tender. The cowboy beans were superb with tons of smoky flavor and full of pulled pork. The cornbread was classically made and good. The cold-hard butter was a bummer. But the pig mac sandwich was really good. The bread was super soft, the macaroni was very tasty as was the pulled pork. Multiple sauces to choose from but the spicy bbq was my go to and it didn't disappoint. Will be trying new items the next time I'm close by.

A delicious find while driving from CT to NY. My favorite parts were the ribs and the amazing cheese grits. I love that they had extra BBQ sauce right on the tables. The soda machine was broken which is sad and while they did have high chairs for kids, they didn't have a changing table.

This is tough review for me, I was pretty excited about going to this place based on the reviews. I must say I ended up being disappointed. I thought the place was pretty cool inside and the food co es out super fast. The guys at the counter were friendly so first impressions were good. We ordered a pulled pork sandwich and a meat combo. I figure, in my experience, a pulled pork sandwich says a lot about a BBQ place. I must say the pulled pork lacked flavor, it was just meh... the mac and cheese had a good texture but didn't have that much flavor. And the corn bread felt it was one of those you will buy at stop and shop. Now, I was not impressed, however my son who likes BBQ likes this place. So even though for me is a 2 star for him is 4, so a 3 average sounds about right. I may try a different meat in the future, so hopefully my experience will be different.

Lookin' for some good BBQ? The Pig Rig BBQ in Wallingford is the place for you. This is a place I would randomly crave. The pork, brisket, and chicken are smoked daily--tasty and juicy! Their sides are phenomenal too; smoked mac and cheese with pork and bacon mixed in, cornbread, coleslaw, potato salad, cheesy grits, and collard greens to name a few. They also have very good sauces to dunk into. My favorites are the spicy and tangy Carolina Gold sauce and Kansas City bbq sauce. Reading the menu and item descriptions are very entertaining. You can tell they had too much fun writing it up. The last time we had The Pig Rig BBQ we got takeout. It's always packaged well and warm. My husband got a Two Meat Combo Platter and chose Beef Brisket, Chicken Thighs, side of coleslaw and cornbread . I went for a pulled chicken sandwich, the Cluckin' D'lisious! It's topped with coleslaw, blue cheese and served with two sauce (Carolina Gold and Kansas City). I always make it a combo for a few bucks more. I got a side of mac and cheese and cornbread. The side portions are very big, scooped in 16 oz foam bowls. Besides the BBQ, my husband and I rave about the coleslaw. Firstly, it's bright purple-pink color that makes it visually awesome. The slaw is dressed perfectly, tangy and slightly sweet. The Pig Rig BBQ is a fantastic option near Wallingford area. I highly recommend giving them a try. The staff is always awesome and they are putting out really good food.

I got it picked up and delivered to me. The Burnt ends were very soft didn't seem burnt. It was tender, and Luke warm. The taste wasn't anything special. No smoked flavor. The Mac and cheese was different, also didn't taste smoked. I couldn't decide if I liked it or not. I did not eat the cornbread.

We visited in July to celebrate my fiancée's birthday. He loves it here. The food was so good. I had to bring the rest home. They have a bunch of different sauces to choose from at the table. It was a little warm in the restaurant but it was okay. I enjoyed the food very much.

Clean and pleasant place. The owner was very welcoming Its a dine in/take out kind of place. Food was good, pretty filling for the portion size and extra sides. My husband loved it. One thing that I didn't like was the food temperature. Im not cold food kind of person, specially meat but it was edible, it was good.

This the trash they called briskets and Ribs. This is like dog food, even a dog eats better than this.

Total disrespect the left over Burnt bottom scraps they sent me on doordash. Here's proof!

I first heard of the "Pig Rig" on one of the "best in your state" lists for barbeque. I didn't quite expect it to be tucked into a strip mall, but there we were. The owner was right behind the counter greeting people, and genuinely interested in who we were and why we were there. They have a lot of options on the menu, and also their sauces available on the side if you want to try different flavors from what you ordered. I am not a big barbeque fan, but the pulled beef was so tender and well flavored... Yum. The mac and cheese was creamy, and the cornbread had the perfect honey accent. They are also a Coke restaurant! The bathrooms are very clean and a little cold with AC.

If you're looking for good barbecue, this place is the real deal. The restaurant has a nice spacious sitting area, and let me tell you this restaurant was immaculate. OK let's talk food. I ordered a half rack of ribs, side of mac & cheese with cornbread. The ribs were cook with a nice dry rub flavor to them, and then they add some house sauce on the bottom.Inside the meat was nice, and moist, and cooked to perfection. There was plenty of meat on the bone. There's a choice of four different sauces that you can add. I fell in love with their house sauce. It had a hint of sweetness to it, and just the right amount of kick. I also highly recommend their mac & cheese. It was not soupy, and had a nice pasty cheese to it with plenty of pork and bacon mixed in. Great BBQ restaurant worth checking out.

Wright Way is small and more functional than nice, but there is some cool branding and the place has a very friendly vibe. I'm the only person who dined in, but while I was there, there were a number of people there for takeout orders. The Wright Team was very kind and accommodating while I there. I ordered a Fungi Burger, which was a double beef smash burger, grilled onions, sautéed shrooms, garlic sauce and Swiss Cheese on a standard bun. The smash burgers were not cooked to the point of char. For a double smash burger, it didn't look particularly big, but each of the components was very good. And the burger was better than the sum of its parts. The fries were good too. I also ordered a Small Wings, with dry rub and BBQ Sauce, and Alabama Sauce (a white sauce) on the side. We must have had a misunderstanding about the sauces, because they came with dry rub and all sauces on the side. Not a big deal. I sauced the wings at the table. The wings are smoked, but there wasn't a strong smoke flavor. They had the texture of smoked wings, but the outer texture was still good too. The meat wasn't dry at all. The Wright Way was nice enough to accommodate all my crazy sauce requests. Blue Cheese or Ranch. I tried both, and I'm going to tell you that a side of Alabama White Sauce is the way to go. A nice bit of horseradish. Very flavorful. I can definitely see returning even though I don't live in the area. If you live nearby, you should definitely visit and start exploring the Burgers, Sandwiches, Wings, Breakfast Sandwiches, etc. 4.5 Stars

So I did get the Brisket, and I also decided on a 1/2# of the Pulled Pork instead of the Ribs. I was underwhelmed with the Brisket, it was dry. Went back inside for some vinegar based sauce, the gentleman provided me some in a small cup. Although the sauce certainly did help flavor the Brisket, it was extremely spicy. BBQ, IMO, should not be spicy. The Pulled Pork was very good though, fresh & flavorful. I suspect that the Brisket was old, from yesterday, based on the lack of flavor compared to the fresh Pulled Pork (and that I had walked in just after Royster's had opened for business this morning). The Pitmaster knows what he is doing, he was just trying to cut corners. I've had plenty of BBQ when I lived in the South, the Pulled Pork was a good as any I had when I lived down there. There shouldn't be that much disparity between the quality of the meats. Disappointing, because it's hard to find real Q North of Mason-Dixon line. Inconsistent makes me ponder on whether I want to come back again a 2nd time. Maybe, maybe not. Now I'm indecisive, not good. So for now, I have to give Royster's BBQ Company in Cheshire a weak 3 Star rating. If I'm in the area and get a chance to drop in again, I'll post an update.

They give you a nice "tray" to take your food so that was nice. Atmosphere a bit odd. I'm in food service...so it was a bit gross that the owner was pouring bbq sauce from a large vat into small bottles right by the front where your customers are walking in (should be done in the back) and I believe there was a dog bed on the floor. Ok onto the food. My mom's spare ribs were red. Definitely not cooked enough. She was worried she could get sick. She called and he said that's how they are supposed to be cooked but she ended up throwing them out. The sides were unfortunately not good either. Mushrooms and mashed potatoes overpowering smoke flavor and very salty. Pulled pork ok. Bbq sauce not very good either. Mac and cheese lacked flavor.
