Came here for the first time during lunch, was thankfully not too busy around 1pm during the week. This place serves salads and sandwiches. You can either make your own or order off the menu. To make your own salad they have a sheet and you just check off what you want want. They star the ingredients that cost extra. I would say overall I enjoyed my salad and the place was nice and clean. My main complaint was there was only 1 size for salads which was pretty large so I would've like a half size since saving salad doesn't really stay good for long. Also the price was a bit steep. But again it was a large salad. Unfortunately most of the ingredients I could actually eat were ones that all cost me extra. I would likely come back here. My mom and I stopped in for a nice girl's day lunch at BMuse! The ham and Brie sandwich was absolutely delicious. As soon as I saw it on the menu, I knew I had to get it! It came with a delicious homemade honey mustard, and the roll was very fresh. I found BMuse to be very clean, and despite how busy they were during the lunch rush, we received our order quickly. My mom really liked her Asian chicken salad, and ended up asking for some almonds to add a crunch. The cookies were a great little treat too! I do wish they were open on weekends, because it's rare that I'm able to make it to Wallingford during the week. I wish I lived or worked closer to get here more often! read more

I always get food to go out of convenience. They are always friendly and fast! However their dining nook (tucked away from the counter and in-and-out lunch patrons), is pretty and quiet. The chicken is chunky and tasted very good. They also provide catering I just wished they had more seating available but the bar stool area does offer plenty of seating. I enjoy the wonderful online feature of ordering lunch bmuse offers. It's easy peasy for me to do a build my own salad or recently I love the chicken Caesar wrap, and stop in and grab my bag off the counter. The ingredients have always been fresh, and the dressings good. Just tried the shortbread cranberry cookies with my last meal order and I'm a big fan! If you are looking for a filling yet healthy meal option that won't weigh you down, this is the place to go. They even offer a few chilled soups, chili, snacks, desserts, and salads in a chilled case that are great for a last minute meal at home (more info on these options below). B Muse is located in a newly built plaza constructed only a few years ago right next to the Valvoline gas station and across the street from Quality Subaru. The location/Atmosphere: Right off of route 5 in Wallingford, this is one of those grab and go locations. Seating is minimal. There is bar stool seating available against the windows as well as by a smaller wall off to the side. When customers place their orders they often stand close by to, or up against the seating area (no one likes to stand in the middle of a room and that is the only other place for customers to stand and wait for their orders). Aside from the confusion of where to wait or where you should eat your food, the design of the area is well done. Simple and clean. You are able to view all ingredients in an open design, and all orders are prepared right in front of you (think subway, but with fresh REAL ingredients). The Food: All of their food is not only fresh and real but also reasonably priced for the quality and portions of food you receive. They don't use processed proteins, instead the quality is similar to you grilling your protein of choice at home, on your own grill. I have had both their chicken and their salmon and it was as if they grilled everything fresh for your order (just know that the ingredients are chilled). Portions: This may just be my own experience, however regardless of what you order, the portions are always very filling. In fact I always have something left on my plate. This has a lot to do with the quality of ingredients they use! Menu Options: From sandwiches, wraps, to salads and soups, this is a perfect place to get your lunch. Along with their made to order options (yes you can customize your wraps, salads, and sandwiches) they also have a cooler filled with drink options such as sodas and teas, as well as pre-made smoothies. In the same cooler they sell pre-made pasta salads like macaroni or quinoa, as well as chilled containers of soup, desserts and snack cups filled with either a fruit salad or veggies and hummus. * Parking is limited to the available parking within the plaza. I was looking for a healthy option for lunch and stumbled across this gem. I've been moving to plant based eating, which can be challenging when traveling. Too bad Bmuse is not a franchise! The restaurant has a salad buffet type set up, but the food access is on the opposite side for the employees to fill your order after you fill out a checklist of what you want your "bowl" to be filled with. You just get to gaze at the fresh veggie selections while your order is put together They have a large variety of veggies and dressings, and offer some hot sandwiches and wraps and soups. Best place to stop for lunch in Wallingford. I love their tossed salad options - they have pre-selected salads as well as a build your own option which I always go for. You grab the checklist and go to town adding as many veggies and toppings as you want. The best pet about this place is that there is no extra charge for what other places call 'premium toppings' (avocado, grape leaves, etc). Only extra charge here is if you add protein and they give you tons of it so it's worth the money. My daughter and I were looking for a nice place to eat lunch. She had gotten food here before and loved it. They have a nice selection of sandwiches, salads and a couple of daily soups. You can place your order ahead of time or order there. I suggest you go there because you get to see the fresh items that they add to your salads or sandwiches. They have a menu of salads you can choose from or a build your own. I opted for the southwestern salad that comes with a lime chipotle vinaigrette. My daughter went for the build your own. They had a menu you can fill out with your build your own choices. They start out at 7.95 and protein or a few additional items like extra cheese, avocados and grape leaves are extra. They have a lot of dressings to choose from. We were greeted by a friendly woman as soon as we entered and were shown the menu and various other choices. She commented on our tandem stroller with a cover over the babies. She asked if they were twins and engaged in some friendly banter while we decided what we wanted. She asked if we wanted the dressing tossed or on the side. The team of associates were lined up behind the counter with masks and gloves on cheerfully putting the orders together. It started to get busy, but they quickly filled our orders and the others that had placed theirs. We got a couple of drinks from the cooler and also got a couple of chocolate macaroons. They didn't have any seating inside, but they had a few tall bistro tables and chairs outside. We sat outside and ate our salads. Was so not impressed, you walk in, there are little pads (menus) you check off what you would like on your salad, easy enough?!? One would think that; upon getting the salad I ordered- it seems like if you Checked off "cucumbers" you should write "x5" next to it because there was ONE of each thing I wanted. ONE olive, ONE snap pea, ONE candied walnut" the list goes on.... what this salad was lacking wasn't made up for by the bland chicken salad, flavorless, mush- basically we paid $25 for a field of lettuce, and not even a handful of mixed vegetables, forget checking off any of the dressings listed, because odds are they'll only add a DROP if that-and it wouldn't change the flavor regardless. They have signature salads on the menu and I ordered the Roasted Beet Salad. Baby arugula, roasted beets, tomatoes, crumbled goat cheese and La Flora Italian dressing. The portion is huge and the ingredients are super fresh. The creamy goat cheese is incredible. I also had a deep rich flavorful cream of mushroom soup. BMuse Cafe is bright and very clean. They have limited seating because it's mainly a take out restaurant. They have a cool concept for custom salads. All ingredients except proteins are included in the price. $6.95 is the price for a standard salad with $2.95 - $3.95 additional if you want a protein (hard boiled eggs are free). Some have said that's too much money for a salad. For the size of the salad, amount of ingredients, and quality of the ingredients, I think it's well worth it. Most people can get two meals out of one salad. I've also had a couple sandwiches here, which I think are good as well, but the salads are what keeps me coming back. What's that you say? Salad isn't a meal? I beg to differ, oh reader mine. I work close to B Muse and have heard many good things about its salads from some co-workers who frequent the shop. One day not long ago I decided to hop on the salad train and give this place a whirl. So begins my strange and bewildering (if not bemusing) journey into leafy green goodness. A salad train, by the way, runs on eco-friendly solar power coupled with the magnetically gathered positive energy of people who run "tough mudders", cross-fit enthusiasts and people who drive hybrid cars. I've been to B Muse several times in the past two months or so. On my first visit I ordered a Caesar Salad. What I received was not a Caesar Salad. This is an honest mistake, and not something I was upset over. Since I was already back to work by the time I opened the box, I ate what I had received which I could only describe as the best salad I've ever had. A bed of baby greens tossed with red onion, kalamata olives and stuffed grape leaves. The dressing was tangy, savory and had earthy tones which I found to be a wonderful contrast to I'm what I'm used to in a salad dressing. I knew what I had eaten was not a Caesar salad, but now I had to find out what it actually was. Over the next handful of visits I tried to duplicate this salad, but for one reason or another, I was not successful in doing so. Ordering a salad at B Muse goes like this: You take a checklist which has every salad ingredient listed on it. Check off the ingredients you want in your salad, write your name at the top, and wait. If you want your salad to consist of six hard boiled eggs and three croutons, you are more than welcome to do so. Using this ordering system, I made every effort to replicate the salad I received on my first visit. But each time I fell short. A different dressing, missing ingredients, wrong salad blend. I just couldn't find the right combo. Then, one fateful day, I was putting together my combination of ingredients and noticed there was another menu with actual, named salads. I read through and found it. The Classic Greek Salad. That's the one I had on my first visit! Feeling ashamed I had never noticed this menu before yet elated that I had finally found my mystery salad, I placed my order. I've gone back many times and always gravitate back to the Classic Greek salad. It's just that good. Of course, you can get whatever you want. Seriously you get like 12 unpitted Kalamata olives, goat cheese, nineteen raisins and a side of French dressing. They wouldn't even bat an eye. Don't like salads? Not a problem. B Muse offers a host of sandwich options along with cookies and other dessert type items. They also have a diverse selection of juices and softdrinks for those pesky "I'm on my lunch-break and probably shouldn't drink a beer before I go back to work" days. read more

The prices are good with a basic salad at $6.95 and additional proteins (chicken, tofu, etc) from an extra $2.50 on up. On a strip full of fast food, it's so refreshing to find a place with healthy options!! They have salads, soups, sandwiches and quiche. Where I live in NYC, we have tons of similar places and it's about time they had something of the sort in the CT area! All of their salads are made to order, so they put whatever you want in(woo hoo, I don't have to waste time picking out the stuff I don't like!). They have a menu where you can check which items you want and then they'll make it up for you. My only gripe was that they placed the sheet of paper I filled out directly onto my salad in the closed box- pretty gross considering that same pad has been in all random people's hands/on the counter exposed to who knows what- nastiness and an infection waiting to happen! I went into B Muse and ordered two made-to-order salads, two NE Clam Chowders, and a couple of slices of roasted vegetable quiche. I was in and out in ten minutes with my order. Everything was exactly as they promoted- fresh, and delicious. I had a custom salad loaded with vegetables- all stuff I love in salads but that I am unlikely to buy in the stores. Roasted beets, brie cheese, fig balsamic dressing? It was a delicious combination. I felt like a chef in training designing my own salad, and sort of begrudgingly admitted it was better tasting than going out to get a burger and fries. The stand out was really the quiche. I did not order it for myself, but shared a bit of a coworkers. Oh goodness. It was delicious. And filling. Large, especially for the price.
