The flavors is pretty good I really enjoyed it. My only problem was the price I get it price is going up on food everyday but $17 for a plate of food that have a lot of rice and a small portion size for the meat is a tad bit ridiculous. If I feel like spending almost $20 on a plate of food without a beverage I would. I do recommend you give them a try because the food does taste good.
First time here... menu is kind of confusing so I had to ask. I wound up ordering the chicken and beef bowl. Two meats, rice, cabbage and carrots. Took about 5 minutes to get my food. The bowl is the size of a small black plate/bowl at a Chinese restaurant, for comparison. I must say the meat was seasoned and cooked to perfection. The veggies were cooked but not to my taste regarding seasoning. My issue is for 17.00 too much rice and not enough meat. I understand COVID, UKRAIN WAR and whatever else is driving prices up BUT not that much. If the portions were more in line with the price point, I would be here regularly because the food is good and not fried to death.
I found this hidden gem when searching for healthy restaurants in my area. This is my second time eating here, it was so good I am going to come back often ! The restaurant is very clean and quiet. A nice place to eat in at. Their food is affordable, delicious, and simply amazing. I personally really like their message of no msg, oils, and using fresh ingredients. It didn't take them long to prepare my food, staff was very sweet. Along with my Chicken and Steak veggie bowl I also got a mango soda! Would recommend this place!!
If you're looking for a healthy lunch spot, HFT defines health! HFT stands for healthy, fresh, tasty and that's exactly what they state in their mission statement. HFT delivers and is consistent!! The meals here are portioned to perfection and priced even better. My only issue with this establishment is the customer service, if that changed I would recommend this place to everyone! and give it 5 stars. Also the ambiance is dull, it's clean but no music ever... just the sounds of cooking and refrigerators. If I'm dining in somewhere I want to feel welcomed, this place is structured better for take out. If you need a healthy '' meal prepped" styled lunch, give this place a try!!
This place deserves 10 stars fresh ingredients and always made to order. I love going here I have tried almost everything on the menu and would definitely eat all of it again. I would highly recommend for lunch or dinner. I have never been disappointed by going to this restaurant. It is a little tricky to find on route five but once you do you'll keep going back.
Generally this is not a typical place I would review but the food was unexpectedly delicious. So I was passing by the area and needed a quick bite to fuel my discounted shopping on the main strip. Upon a quick search, HFT pops up and the girlfriend, aka the decision-maker, aka my master, decided to give it a try. To be frank, I wasn't expecting much. The location, the space, the ambience was eerily normal. So much so, that I was just planning to speed eat, trying to not further delay my aquisition of a coffee mug for 40% off. So I ended up with the bibimbop(mixed rice bowl) and my girlfriend got the bulgogi steak / chicken bowl. What followed next shook me down to the core and made me reevaluate life. The bibimbop was unexpectedly authentic... Nicely seasoned and fresh vegetables with a bite. It was authentic but also healthier version of bibimbop. The steak/chicken bowl was delicious too, but I prefer slightly less teriyaki sauce as I'm generally not a fan of sweet beef unless it's alive. HFT is a hidden gem and if I ever travel back to CT, I'll definitely make another stop here...on my own accord this time.
"Tantalizing Teriyaki" HFT Grill is a great find amongst all of the typical fast food joints on route 5. The food is prepared almost as fast as a fast food restaurant, but it's fresh, healthy, and delicious. HFT Grill is located in a small plaza with Casanova Ink Tattoo Shop and Shimmer Hair Salon. The tattoo shop's sign is more eye catching than HFT's so keep your eye out for the word "Ink" to find it. Very easy to pass by if you're not paying attention. But the inside of HFT Grill is clean, bright, and eye catching. I had the Steak & Chicken Veggie Bowl. White rice topped with cabbage, carrots, and broccoli on one side and tender shaved steak and chicken on the other side. And then a heavy drizzle of their tantalizing teriyaki sauce. The teriyaki sauce is very delicious. I would prefer chunks of meat rather than the shaved pieces, but it was still excellent. You're getting a meal for under ten dollars that's healthy and satisfying. Plus it blows away anything from the list of fast food restaurants in the area.
The concept is nice but perhaps the execution could be better. I think it's terrific a little food joint opened up on Route 5 that's unlike all the other fast food joints on that road. It's different. It's unique. It's healthy. However both the menu and interior come across a little too sterile for me. There's not much variety to the menu. They offer three items: teriyaki bowls, salads, and signature plates. That's all. And there's no difference between the bowls and signature plates except the signature plates provide a slightly bigger portion size. Regarding its interior, it's designed just like every other Asian-owned fast food place... modern looking yet plain and austere. It needs a more homey touch. Maybe because there was no one else dining inside and maybe because there was no background music I therefore got a cold feeling from my visit. Background music goes a long way in setting the atmosphere for a place. Food was OK. The teriyaki sauce reminded me more of BBQ sauce than traditional teriyaki sauce, which was fine with me because I like BBQ sauce. In addition to my chicken, I received white rice, salad, and a few orange slices. It was perhaps the most healthy fast food meal I've had in a very long time. I say fast food because it probably took no more than 6 minutes to prepare.

We to get an alternative meal late night. I got to try the chicken and steak combo. It was amazing like cooked fresh great taste of teriyaki. Not to filling but just enough to enjoy all of it. If you haven't tried this it is a must try. I got there late so it was a little dark inside and definitely felt cold. Probably they were getting ready to close but I can this place being packed for lunch. They are open late so it makes it nice get there and eat after work. Will need to try the shrimp bowl next time, can't wait. read more

My food definitely DID NOT look like these pictures. $26 for burnt rock hard salmon and 4 baby shrimp is just ridiculous. Grilled and burnt are 2 different things. The man that was working acted like I was bothering him when I tried to order. read more

I was looking to try HFT after reading the reviews on Yelp. I knew roughly where it was, so I hopped in the car and headed over. HFT is located in the old D'Angelo's spot. I spotted the place immediately. It has a very bright and trendy decor. I liked it right away. The pictures show more than I can explain, but it is clean. The menu is limited and on point for what they are trying to do. Basically, it is a teriyaki bowl restaurant. The food was indeed, healthy, fresh and tasty. A much better option than another burger with a kajillion additives in the buns etc,.. It was reasonably priced. Service was fast (I was the only one there at 8:53 PM), and everyone was courteous. It is the kind of food you can eat frequently and enjoy. I expect I will be back often. As others have noted, there is a TON of competition on the strip, so I hope they do well. I am quite happy with them as a replacement to D'Angelo's. Not sure of the store hours. I think these are on the door, but not on the menu or website. They may be closed on Mondays (not sure), and close at 9 PM during the week. read more

The meals are very flavorful and when you order meat they provide a lot of it. I like it here because I can eat a meal and feel full but in a good way. The bottles of juice are so good! I would definitely recommend this place for lunch. HFT stands for healthy, fresh, and tasty. read more
The food definitely matches the name-- healthy, tasty, and fresh. Absolutely delicious food! I ordered the chicken & veggie bowl with brown rice and I couldn't believe how tasty the food was, even though it wasn't cooked in oil. The veggies tasted great and they weren't over-cooked! The chicken tasted great as well. I cannot wait to go back and try more food items such as the steak and salmon bowls. They seem to have specials listen on a chalk board when you first enter the building, so keep a look out for that! This place has great potential. Glad to see some local, healthy options here in town. read more

Hard to believe the food is actually healthy because it tastes so good! We had the chicken, steak and veggie rice bowl and the salmon rice bowl. They were both great! They also do their take on burritos if you're into that. read more

My queen and I decided to visit this restaurant, based upon my youngest son's recommendation. Immediately, the owner(s) were very friendly and polite. I opted for the teriyaki chicken veggie bowl with brown rice. And my Queen opted for the teriyaki chicken plate with white rice. I was happy with the fresh veggies ( carrots and cabbage ) and the brown rice. The meal was delicious, but my only complaint was the teriyaki sauce. It was a tad bit salty to my liking. Regardless, it was an excellent experience and looking forward to returning... read more

HFT is one of my go-to's when looking for something fast yet somewhat healthy. It is exactly what it's name stands for (Healthy, Fresh, Tasty) however if you are on a strict diet, you should still me carful about your meal and beverage choices. Is it Heathy? Mostly This is an excellent place even for health fanatics, if you are running out of time and need a meal after leaving the gym. They can and will change a few things in the menu to meet your needs, such as giving you more veggies if you do not want rice in one of their bowls. Just know ahead of time that nutritional information is not posted on the menu or anywhere in the restaurant. If you are simply looking for a healthier option other than your normal take-out locations, this place is a giant step above the rest. The veggies are steamed, you have the option for shrimp, steak, chicken, or Salmon as a protein, and a choice of white or brown rice. The sauces they use are not heavily saturated on the foods which is an added bonus. Also their portion sizes are great. I opt for a chicken and veggie bowl with no rice, and I usually have 1/3 left over for another meal. They can go heavier on the rice which is why I choose to order bowls without the rice. Is it tasty? Very Is it fresh? Yes. I love that the veggies are steamed and minimal if any oil is used in their dishes. The veggies taste fresh and are never over cooked. Eating in? They do offer seating inside, multiple small tables and a bench facing the parking lot. There is also a very small area where you can eat outside when the weather is nice (however the view would simply by the front of someone's car, and the ever busy route 5). The Service The service is always excellent. They make sure to listen to my requests and serve you as quickly as possible. You do pay for your meal beforehand, and then once you've ordered you will usually receive your food within 10-12 of leaving the register. read more

Fresh, delicious food. I got the chicken veggie bowl with white rice and it was so good; the chicken was so tender and delicious that it even held up through reheating when I microwaved my leftovers. The vegetables could have been steamed a little bit more but the chicken was so tender, i honestly didn't care too much. Will definitely be back soon. read more
