Whether it be the African locations, in Toronto, or this Addison location, Nando's never disappoints. The service is always consistent and good. We got the family platter which comes with juicy chicken, delicious kebobs, and sides - we chose peri peri fries, Mac and cheese, Brussels sprouts, and sweet potatoes. Last I had Nando's was almost a decade ago in DC. So I was stoked to see this store in Addison. It was a gorgeous location, full of colors. Both indoor and outdoor seats were available. When I went on weekday dinner time, the place was packed. I was lucky to get one of the last tables. It was a semi self serve, I put in the order via website, got my utensils and water, but the staff brought the drinks and dishes to the table. I was looking forward to trying the chicken liver, but they were out of stock. That was a bummer! But I ordered the quarter dark meat chicken with mango lime sauce. I was glad the chicken still tasted so good, topped with really flavorful grilled skin. The coleslaw and fries were decent side. Prices were good for most of the items. The staff members were nice. The shift manager apologized for not having the chicken liver and processed the refund right away. They also checked with us multiple times if we got all our items. All the sauces, utensils, water bottles were constantly refilled in the condiment area. Nando's Is so freaking famous I had always wondered how good it was since I've never been. When I was a kid, my friends told me about but since there wasn't a Nando's near me, I never had it. This has been one of our favorite places to eat at no matter what state that we've been in. The food has always tasted amazing. We have a few new favorites too, including the skewers. I ordered the peri peri chicken thigh skewers with onions and bell pepper, golden cauliflower, Cole slaw, fries and half chicken breast with the mango and lime level and thought it was amazing. The way the chicken was cooked itself was great without the need for sauces. Golden cauliflower was the most notable sideand sauce sweet with tangy flavor as well as the Brussels sprouts. There is no boneless or fried option either but that was expected since Nando's specializes in peri-peri chicken. The one and only time I experienced Nando's was in London in 2016. It was so impressive that I found myself craving it every so often over the years. When I heard that they were opening locations in various US Cities, I knew we were in for a treat! I wanted to wait until the crowds dissipated so that is the only excuse for not visiting sooner. I can also see that it can get rather overwhelming at peak times in a limited space designed for dine-in patrons. The new-ish Addison location is beautiful. Everything was flawless! Dez - the Manager - was on the floor going to each table and interacting with customers. Everyone we encountered was attentive and appeared to work seamlessly and efficiently as a team. Everett was taking orders at the register, fulfilling them, and delivering them to the table. There was also another sweet young lady there delivering food to tables whose name I cannot recall. We ordered Honey Lavender Lemonade, hummus and pita, halloumi cheese sticks with chili jam for dipping, followed by the three piece chicken thighs, which were seasoned with mango and lime and two sides - we chose Portuguese rice and Fries and shared amongst the three of us. My favorite thing to get here is the butterfly chicken breast with fries and peri mac. To be honest, every time I get the boneless chicken breast it has been on the drier side but all the different sauce offerings make it up for me. I opt to get boneless chicken because I usually go here for lunch when working in the office nearby and don't want to get my hands dirty. The peri mac is always amazing and the fries go so well with the variety of sauces they have. One thing to note is that everything here is self serve which could be a little confusing for a first timer. There are water cups next to the fountain drinks and tea and that might confuse people if there is no sign indicating those cups are just for water. My first meal of the day on 9/1/24 at 5PM was at Nando's Peri-Peri. We had a long morning and didn't have time to eat anything. So, I was so glad that Nando's was a quick five minute walk from where we were at. We had to wait a few minutes to be seated, which my boyfriend thought was odd because he had been here a handful of times before and never had to do that. It wasn't a big deal to me, I thought that was pretty normal at restaurants. Once we were seated, we were able to view the menu via a QR code, as well as a hard copy of the menu that was already at the table. The QR code menu was more helpful since it also had the pictures of the items. We ordered (1) 1/2 Chicken Mango & Lime with Portuguese Rice and Red Skinned Mash Potatoes and (1) 1/2 Chicken Lemon & Herb with two sides, the PERi Chips with PERi Ranch and PERi Mac. We also got a pitcher of the Honey Lavender Lemonade to share between the two of us. We got our drink first, then about 10 minutes later got our food. The food came out relatively quickly, given how busy it was at the time. I enjoyed everything we ordered! The fries and the ranch are a MUST. We were a fan of the medium but the lemon and herb in my opinion was more like lime rather than lemon. They had a self serve bar type area with all the different sauces that you could try.
