It was our first time trying Bonchon in Addison. We saw a video on Instagram about the crispy chicken, so we thought we'd give it a go. We were pleasantly surprised by how crispy the chicken was; it had a really nice flavor. We also ordered a side of onion rings, which were super crunchy and delicious, and a side of sweet potato waffle fries. While the sweet potato waffle fries tasted amazing, the portion was pretty disappointing; we got about 10 fries total to share between two people. We originally wanted to order the K-Meal To-Go for 4-6 people, as we thought it was good value for money, but unfortunately, it wasn't available. They only had the large K-Box To-Go available, which costs around $90. We were told the K-Meals are not available on Fridays so they "don't lose money." If that's the case, then that's terrible marketing. Overall, the chicken and sides were great. We just think the sweet potato waffle fries portion should be larger for the price. read more

I ordered the 4 wings and 2 drumsticks with seasoned fries, japchae and a Bibimbop. Best item was the japchae yet it was lacking as well. No flavor here, the chicken, the fries just everything. Couldn't eat the Bibimbop because the foundation of rice was undercooked and hard. $64 for that?! No way but unfortunately yes. Never again. This is not Korean fried chicken. Service was friendly. The Korean fried chicken here is really good. The menu is really big so I will definitely have to come back few times to try some other dishes. I tried the bibimap which is a Korean dish and it was outstanding. It has scrambled eggs, rice, lettuce, carrots, onions, spinach, and mushrooms with chicken. I went here one weeknight for dinner with my roommate. The place was not real busy inside but they were running around doing a ton of to go orders. You order on a kiosk here. I could not make up my mind so I ended up getting the Seoul Sampler $33.99 which came with 2 drumsticks, 4 wings, 4 potstickers, an order of Bulgogi Fries, Korean Street Corn and Coleslaw. I got the Soy Garlic for the sauce which they apparently put on the drums, wings and potstickers. I got the pork potstickers with a side of spicy mayo. The chicken is great, extra crispy with the double frying and the soy garlic was a winner taste wise to me. The potstickers were awesome, as well as the massive drumsticks and wings. The coleslaw was fine nothing special. I also like the street corn for the slight heat and cheesiness. The fries themselves were great and extra crispy but for the amount of stuff on them from the bulgogi, cheese and sauces, it didn't really add much flavor to them. I also got to try their pickled radish side and some fried zucchini. The radish was generic but a good palate cleanser when switching between things. The fried zucchini was okay, the middle inside was soggy due to the moisture the vegetable creates naturally. I saw that they have $1 wings on Monday's and Tuesday's for dine in. Tried Bonchon for the first time and I was impressed! The lunch special was a great value and came with 4 wings with your choice of sauce and a side. I wasn't a huge fan of the pickled radish, but the fries were so delicious and fresh! It's a very casual spot but they definitely cook your food to order because all that we got was fresh. I loved my food but the next time I visit I will ask for a side of sauce for my chicken because mine was just lightly brushed with sauce. read more

I asked for soy garlic sauce to put on my rice and they refused to give me any because it's "too concentrated" but honestly that's exactly what this flavorless rice needed! I asked a side of the sauce the wings are tossed in, but the person that helped me told me the sauce is TOO HOT to hand out, even though I ordered it hot. The reason why I asked for it is the last couple of times, I've bought wings, from this restaurant, the wings have been dry. Who wants DRY wings? We went for lunch to check it out. The food was well prepared and had good flavor. The lunch special was a great deal but they upcharge for fries which a little weird (IMO). It came with 6 tenders with your choice of sauce. We did half and half. Both were very good. The seasoned fries were nicely fried, extra crunchy with lots of "seasoning" so we got our $2 worth. The house salad came with sesame ginger and I wanted to try the wasabi ranch as well. The ranch was interesting but the sesame ginger was definitely the winner. The salad is a decent size but I probably wouldn't get it again. The fried rice with bulgogi was excellent. It is a good amount of rice and is seasoned perfectly. They gave you side of soy but it's unnecessary. I was impressed with this dish. It exceeded my expectations. The lady working the front counter deserves a full 5 stars. She was fantastic. She gave recommendations, was helpful and just pleasant to talk to. Excellent customer service and we were wowed by her overall attitude. It was a very nice experience. read more

Ah, how disappointing. After almost a year of not eating BonChon after a disappointing service, we finally decided to try again. I ordered 5 chicken strips. Double fried. Extra delicious. As I remember them - EXCEPT. They weren't fried. At all. They were coated in something slimy, like a dumpling. Not fried at all. Not crunchy. Not like the other chicken we ordered. Very, very disappointed. The fries were great. The corn was great. The chicken wings and legs were just right. But the fact that the strips weren't even fried!? For a Korean fried chicken chain, this one is always consistent and delicious. I normally order delivery and the chicken is still somehow super crispy. I don't know how they do it but I love how crispy it is. I've had other items, the fried rice is also really good. It looks like they've added some new flavors for the chicken, but I like the spicy flavor. It is pretty spicy though, so just be aware of that. read more

Two of my friends insisted I try Bonchon because the chicken is amazing! They also recommended that I sign up for their Crunch Club at least two days before I made my way there which got me a free soda. I came to the Addison location and was amazed at the awesome flavors and the crispiness of the wings. I have found my new favorite chicken wing place! I had to rate it before I left because it's really good! I got their summer time flavor: Korean BBQ which is spicy but not overwhelmingly. Normally I start crying from the spicyness of some foods but this time the tears were those of delight. I also got the Soy garlic and they were nice and sweet but not overwhelmingly sweet. Y'all I had been dreaming of a repeat of the delicious wings that I first tried at Bonchon. Unfortunately, I was woefully disappointed. Now, the cashier was as nice as could be, truly pleasant. I ordered 6 pc wings half original and half soy garlic. The soy garlic were fine. But the original didn't have any seasoning on it-not even salt. So imagine, plain double fried wings and there you have it. The mozzarella corn dog was good but I really had my heart set on some yummy (at least) salted original wings. AH...there are a million chicken restaurants floating around these days. This is one of them. The Korean spin is different with the double crust/fry. Nice and crunchy without being overly greasy. The seasoned fries were pretty good with parmesan cheese. You get a lot of food for the price . My only gripe is the crazy issues with parking in the area . Bonchon has a great atmosphere with lots of natural lighting, a tidy interior, and cute decor. Service was super friendly and helpful; the lady at the counter went out of her way to bring us our tray and was super kind! I ordered the chicken sampler with soy garlic sauce, Mac & Kimcheese as the side, and a vanilla chocolate chip mochi. The chicken was delicious and so crisp. The soy garlic sauce was a nice semi-tacky consistency and had amazing flavor. The cuts of meat were very high quality; usually I'm kind of picky with my chicken and hunt for imperfections, but there was nothing to find! The Mac & Kimcheese had delicious savory flavor; I'm still thinking about it! I'd never tried mochi before but am so glad I did. The doughy outer layer was so soft and gave way to yummy cold ice cream. I definitely recommend all three of these items! I only dock a star because the place is generally kind of pricy and I'm not quite sure you get a good amount of food for the money. I tried this place yesterday, and I'm not ashamed to throw two thumbs waaaaay up! The sweet red chili sauce chicken was fire. The mac n kimcheese was the best I've had outside of my grandmother's house or Del Frisco's, and my 2 year-old and I were fighting over the Mochi dessert - I'd call this a win. lol There was a slight stench when I walked in and I almost turned around, but so glad I didn't. I was greeted with a smile which was rejuvenating but the spicy chicken fried rice & white rice were inedible. The rice had a mashed potato consistency, no lie. JUST TERRIBLE. They also forgot my cole slaw in my to-go order. OH THE AGONY! The fries, boneless wings, and bone-in wings had a fantastic crispiness but all were oh so very cold. The Japchae is the only dish I'd return for, but $51 on a lunch for two is another factor that'll keep me away from this place. read more

Despite all the negative reviews, my boyfriend & I went ahead and gave Bonchon a try since this is their second attempt at coming to Dallas from the East Coast. We ordered the half n' half wings which came with half soy garlic half spicy wings and a complimentary side (korean radish, white rice, or coleslaw). The chicken was nice and crispy and filled with so much flavor! If you like spicy, I would definitely recommend the spicy wings. It has that spicy kick that you wouldn't normally find in Korean fried chicken. The service was great and our food came out pretty quickly. It was only about a 10 minute wait for our chicken to come out? My only complaint is that the wings are on the smaller side for how pricey it is, but overall I'd give this place a 4.5/5. read more

So I learned a little about Bonchon during my trip in for lunch today. When I lived in Washington, DC there were Bonchons everywhere! I was super sold on the idea of franchising locations in Texas for a while! We eventually gave up on chicken slinging dreams but continued to stay fans of the product. When moving back to Texas, I was bummed that there weren't any here! Well I learned through this Yelp event that there are! The Addison location is one of the few corporate owned location and it shows. Jimmy, the manager, took great care of us. The storefront is clean and everything was top notch. This is one of their new Fast Casual concepts but don't let that fool you. I would say the service was even better than their sit down concepts. I highly recommend the bone in wings / drumsticks and the Mac and cheese! So tasty!!! read more
