Seasonings on the chicken was good. Chicken and fries are crispy. I wish the ranch tasted a bit better. Very small and limited seating, but spacious parking.

I give this place a 30/30!! This is the best hot chicken place in the DFW area that I have had. Both locations are great and you can't beat the price. Yes the lines get long depending on the day and time but overall it's worth it. The chicken has a nice sweetness to it and the "comeback sauce" is phenomenal. The portion size is a lot and very filling.

FOOD Bird's Nest (medium) - my spice tolerance isn't too good so I usually get the medium. I love how in the bird's nest the sauces are incorporated well the chicken and the coleslaw. It is evenly balanced with the flavors and spice. Legit such good crispy chicken. The fries are also flavored and crunchy! VIBES Place is pretty small. Lots of people grab and go. They have some limited seats with a couple of tables and some seating against the window. SERVICE Service always super quick! They are very efficient with the system that they used to get chicken out to customers fast

I stopped by today for the first time since they first opened years ago and got the tender combo medium spicy. Not going to lie, I was a little disappointed this time around as the chicken tenders are more on the dry side. The spice on the outside is good but the chicken itself is more on the bland side. The fries were nice and crispy and paired well with their ranch. I was expecting the bread to be soft but it was dense and dry. The workers are nice and get your food out quick, I think by the time I had filled my drink my food was ready. I commend the attention to detail when packaging the food as they cut holes in your box to make sure the chicken and fries stay crispy. I think this was maybe an off night for them and it probably didn't help that I came in 30 minutes before closing.

FOOD We've been on the search for the best hot chicken in Dallas, and we stumbled across Ricky's Hot Chicken through reddit posts and suggestions from friends. I will tell you, the hype did not disappoint. I ordered the Chicken Sando - Medium heat. This place knows how to bring in the heat with their spice levels. I have moderate spice tolerance and thought medium was a good level of spice. If you are feeling adventurous, there are several other higher spice levels. Not only was there good spice, but the taste was very flavorful and the chicken was moist. Fries were also seasoned nicely. Don't forget to order some extra come back sauce to dip! SERVICE I was impressed by the efficiency of the staff. We got all of our meals within just 5 minutes of ordering. The food came out hot and freshly made ENVIRONMENT The space has a few tables and it can get crowded when busy. However, you can easily get a table if you wait a little.

I've never had a hot chicken sandwich that was as good as this one. Absolutely amazing.

Yummy! Fresh and hot chicken and also quickly. Great flavors and definitely packs in a kick. Sauces should've been cheaper that's it. Very little seating but the vibes are more causal not sit down.

I had been meaning to try Ricky's hot chicken for a while and finally got the chance! Let me tell you, in my personal option this place is rhe best hot chicken spot in DFW. Simple menu and super quick in getting your food. What I loved is that there is barely a wait, even with a line. My wait to receive my order was under 5 minutes and that's with a line. The chicken was HOT(temp wise) like it was fresh out of the frier with a nice crunch. They have a sauce which reminds me a little of canes sauce. Not the biggest of places but it's appeared very clean I liked this place so much I went from never having it, to going twice in one week. The second visit I was able to get theirs birds nest instead of just the tenders and I loved that too! Anyways definitely give Ricky's a try, it's worth it!

Ricky's is the best hot chicken sandwich spot in the DFW area (arguably better than Dave's Hot Chicken). From their quick service to delicious food I will always recommend this spot to anyone visiting Dallas. Their coleslaw is one of the few that I like and goes great to balance the kick from the chicken. The birds nest is a great, shareable option and is drenched in their signature sauce. Vibes are great but the inside gets slightly cramped when they get busy but nonetheless 100% worth the trip!!

BOMBBBBB! Best chicken I have had in DFW period. There is a line usually, but they are organized and they get you your fresh chicken in a timely manner. I literally have no complaints. This is now in rotation for sure.

Xhot tenders, the perfect balance of fire mouth and flavor!

This chicken is FIRE! Whenever I visit the area I make sure to stop by. Think Cane's, but with an ass kicking spice level.

Okay, this review is long overdue. Went to Ricky's for the first time after being hyped for so long. True to self, I thought it's just gonna be an overhyped spot, but after experiencing Ricky's first hand, I gotta say the hype is real. Let's get some of the complaints out of the way, starting with their business hours. They're open for a bit during lunch time and then again for dinner. When I say a bit, it's literally only a few hours, so if you want to get your chicken dinner, you better get there fast (by 7 pm). Speaking of hours, they do run out of certain things, come early, so you can get what you want. Last is their location, specifically the Richardson one. There's practically no seating, so just be prepared to eat in your car or take it to go. They will put your food in a to go container anyway. So with all those complaints, is it worth it? In my opinion, it's a resounding hell yes!! I visited Ricky's 3-4 times in a week; something I don't do very often. I wanted to make sure that it's not just a fluke before writing a review. I tried both the bird's nest and the quarter bird. Both were amazing!! The tenders are so juicy and flavorful even without the sauce. The combination of slaw and fries and sauce made it the perfect meal. As for the quarter bird, the bone-in pieces are even better. Ricky's doesn't just try to hide behind its spiciness like most hot chicken establishments do; they also seasoned their chicken so well that they can stand on their own!! Honestly, there's not much else I can say when it comes to good fried chicken, and Ricky's definitely has one of the best hot chicken. Speaking of spicy, fair warning that their hot chicken is HOT, so please start off with medium even if you're an avid hot chicken fan. My friend, who has a very high spice tolerance, ordered half hot and half extra hot or something, and he was bawling all the way (had to stop mid way and continue his meal because the spice kicked his ass). Luckily he didn't throw up, especially not in the sink. Ricky's staff prob has seen their fair share of people soiling the sink that they put up the sign (pictured) in the bathroom. Two other aspects I love about Ricky's are their prompt service and value. You order at the counter and wait till they call your name. You can have your meal there if there's space, but the tables were full every time I went there. Your meal also comes with fries and drinks, so there's no need to order separate, which makes it a perfect spot for me to frequent lol All in all, I can't say enough good things about Ricky's despite the minor complaints. I do hope they stay humble and continue to maintain their quality. And for us, dear patrons, the least we can do is to NOT throw up in the sink please!

What cooking oil do they fry the chicken in? And the fries?

I'm not honestly sure what oil they use. I can tell you that the chicken doesn't taste oily nor is it greasy. It's literally the best juiciest, moist chicken breast sandwich I've ever had. I'm a big foodie snob when it comes to chicken… Read more

Can you order No Spice for the chicken sandwich or leg quarter? I do not like anything hot or spicy and wonder if I can even try this place.

How does this compare to Prince's or Hattie B's? I haven't found anything in the area yet that comes close.

I would say Hattie B's is better personally, more menu options but this is good for what it is.

What type of dipping sauces do they have?

Their side sauce taste similar to Raising Canes sauce, basically like a spiced up thousands island dressing.

Why don't they answer their phone? Calling on their business hours that they have listed on their door.

They are extremely busy. They do not take phone orders. They have a contact form on their website if you need to reach them for something else.

Afrah is THE place to be for Mediterranean food - before Greenville Ave became Arab central, before there was anyone, there was Afrah. A beautiful, airy restaurant with gorgeous seating, a bustling dessert case, ice cream center and so many treats to offer under one roof. Afrah is to the Muslim community in Richardson as a glove is to a hand. It truly is a one stop shop for all your nostalgic cravings, and it would be a grave injustice on my part if I didn't stop by here and sing praise to one of the most loved Mediterranean restaurants in the DFW area. We visited here recently for an iftar buffet experience and were very very happy with the food we got. The buffet line was running smoothly, from staff working diligently to hand everyone a tray with napkins, plates and cutlery already set for you. Waiters were going around the massive dining hall clearing plates, making sure everyone had what they needed, seating patrons and asking if everything tasted good. This establishment runs like a literal well oiled machine and I am so impressed. The food was as always out of this world. Carefully prepared menu that satisfies everyone's taste buds. A good selection of classic cold appetizers like the baba ghanoush, hummus, and variety of salads. Always including something unique for a typical Middle Eastern flare. Hot lentil soup available with bowls carefully placed in the vicinity. So many different types of kebabs and freshly made hot pita bread being replaced like clockwork. The buffet had many of my favorite classics like Shawarma meat, beef kebab, chicken kebab. Lamb, chicken stew, baked chicken, everything was present in abundance. They even had salmon which I deeply appreciated as a seafood lover. My only complaint is the food wasn't hot enough which can be annoying with a buffet that is serving so many people during a busy time like Ramadan. Everything tasted absolutely phenomenal and when I returned for dessert, I was greeted with six different types of sweets from all over the world. That's the thing about this place. There's always something for everybody. The dining hall was bustling with not just Muslim patrons, but also a lot of American white patrons who equally enjoy the food here as much as we do. Inclusions of dishes like shrimp pasta, fried fish, chocolate mousse, and other fan favorites is a humble nod to non-Arab customers who love to frequent this place as much as we do. If you are looking for a quality Mediterranean experience look no further than this long-standing Mediterranean Haven. Thank you for nourishing the community.
