I always appreciate the consistent quality and taste at Ricky's!! My go to lately has been the mild tenders, adding a piece of toast and extra comeback sauce.

Seasonings on the chicken was good. Chicken and fries are crispy. I wish the ranch tasted a bit better. Very small and limited seating, but spacious parking.

I come to this kitchen so many time because they have the best fried chicken ever The seasoning is so perfect which is you can even eat them without dipping sauce. It doesn't mean their sauce isnt good, i love the sauce too. I only pick the medium spicy as high recommend for first try. You can challenge yourself with higher level of spicy but be careful of A-Bomb Service is so in and out as you can have your order in minutes. The only thing i dont like is the opening time they open from 11-2pm then 4-7pm The interior is straightforward with a focus on the open kitchen where you can see the staff preparing fresh chicken, contributing to a sense of authenticity.

FOOD Bird's Nest (medium) - my spice tolerance isn't too good so I usually get the medium. I love how in the bird's nest the sauces are incorporated well the chicken and the coleslaw. It is evenly balanced with the flavors and spice. Legit such good crispy chicken. The fries are also flavored and crunchy! VIBES Place is pretty small. Lots of people grab and go. They have some limited seats with a couple of tables and some seating against the window. SERVICE Service always super quick! They are very efficient with the system that they used to get chicken out to customers fast

I give this place a 30/30!! This is the best hot chicken place in the DFW area that I have had. Both locations are great and you can't beat the price. Yes the lines get long depending on the day and time but overall it's worth it. The chicken has a nice sweetness to it and the "comeback sauce" is phenomenal. The portion size is a lot and very filling.

I stopped by today for the first time since they first opened years ago and got the tender combo medium spicy. Not going to lie, I was a little disappointed this time around as the chicken tenders are more on the dry side. The spice on the outside is good but the chicken itself is more on the bland side. The fries were nice and crispy and paired well with their ranch. I was expecting the bread to be soft but it was dense and dry. The workers are nice and get your food out quick, I think by the time I had filled my drink my food was ready. I commend the attention to detail when packaging the food as they cut holes in your box to make sure the chicken and fries stay crispy. I think this was maybe an off night for them and it probably didn't help that I came in 30 minutes before closing.

FOOD We've been on the search for the best hot chicken in Dallas, and we stumbled across Ricky's Hot Chicken through reddit posts and suggestions from friends. I will tell you, the hype did not disappoint. I ordered the Chicken Sando - Medium heat. This place knows how to bring in the heat with their spice levels. I have moderate spice tolerance and thought medium was a good level of spice. If you are feeling adventurous, there are several other higher spice levels. Not only was there good spice, but the taste was very flavorful and the chicken was moist. Fries were also seasoned nicely. Don't forget to order some extra come back sauce to dip! SERVICE I was impressed by the efficiency of the staff. We got all of our meals within just 5 minutes of ordering. The food came out hot and freshly made ENVIRONMENT The space has a few tables and it can get crowded when busy. However, you can easily get a table if you wait a little.

Yummy! Fresh and hot chicken and also quickly. Great flavors and definitely packs in a kick. Sauces should've been cheaper that's it. Very little seating but the vibes are more causal not sit down.

BOMBBBBB! Best chicken I have had in DFW period. There is a line usually, but they are organized and they get you your fresh chicken in a timely manner. I literally have no complaints. This is now in rotation for sure.

I had been meaning to try Ricky's hot chicken for a while and finally got the chance! Let me tell you, in my personal option this place is rhe best hot chicken spot in DFW. Simple menu and super quick in getting your food. What I loved is that there is barely a wait, even with a line. My wait to receive my order was under 5 minutes and that's with a line. The chicken was HOT(temp wise) like it was fresh out of the frier with a nice crunch. They have a sauce which reminds me a little of canes sauce. Not the biggest of places but it's appeared very clean I liked this place so much I went from never having it, to going twice in one week. The second visit I was able to get theirs birds nest instead of just the tenders and I loved that too! Anyways definitely give Ricky's a try, it's worth it!

Ricky's is the best hot chicken sandwich spot in the DFW area (arguably better than Dave's Hot Chicken). From their quick service to delicious food I will always recommend this spot to anyone visiting Dallas. Their coleslaw is one of the few that I like and goes great to balance the kick from the chicken. The birds nest is a great, shareable option and is drenched in their signature sauce. Vibes are great but the inside gets slightly cramped when they get busy but nonetheless 100% worth the trip!!

Ask the Community - Ricky’s Hot Chicken

What cooking oil do they fry the chicken in? And the fries?

I'm not honestly sure what oil they use. I can tell you that the chicken doesn't taste oily nor is it greasy. It's literally the best juiciest, moist chicken breast sandwich I've ever had. I'm a big foodie snob when it comes to chicken…

What all dipping sauces do they have?

I think just that 1 orange sauce they put on the sandwiches

Hi heard this placed sold halal meat, i was wondering if the meat, bun and cheese Halal? Some cheeses have animal enzymes and some breads have whey or other ingredients that…

The buns are brioche (butter, milk, egg). Cheese is not offered. Chicken is machine slaughter halal.

    How spicy is the food?

    * NO HEAT has a hint of heat but nothing a 2 year old can't handle 😊 * MILD goes through our spiced oil bath…

Can you order No Spice for the chicken sandwich or leg quarter? I do not like anything hot or spicy and wonder if I can even try this place.

    Yes!

Are the bread/fries also dairy free or just the chicken?

The buns are brioche so they contain dairy but the Pullman bread has no dairy. The sando can be made with toasted Pullman.…

How does this compare to Prince's or Hattie B's? I haven't found anything in the area yet that comes close.

I would say Hattie B's is better personally, more menu options but this is good for what it is.

What type of dipping sauces do they have?

Their side sauce taste similar to Raising Canes sauce, basically like a spiced up thousands island dressing.

Why don't they answer their phone? Calling on their business hours that they have listed on their door.

They are extremely busy. They do not take phone orders. They have a contact form on their website if you need to reach them for something else.

What is great about this is that the initial room is great for placing your order, looking at the menu, chatting with the staff, paying, and waiting around for your food to come out. The next room over is great for finding a seat, relaxing, and eating without being jostled by people coming and going. Food was pretty good. I forgot to specify the bread wrap, so my sandwich was more like panini than a shawarma. My husband was less than enthralled. He wasn't a fan of the lamb mix, but that is to be expected as he didn't grow up with it and hasn't learned to acquire a taste for it. Staff are really friendly here. Food comes out quickly and remains hot on the way home.

I've tried Abu Omar Halal in Orlando and now at two different Texas locations, including this one in Dallas--and the consistency is seriously impressive. No matter where I go, the flavor hits every single time. What We Ordered: * Arabic-Style Shawarma Wrap - Tender, juicy meat with just the right amount of seasoning. Wrapped tight and no soggy mess. * Falafel - Crispy, golden outside with a light, herby interior. Freshly made and full of flavor. * Loaded Fries with Beef Shawarma - A must-share (or not, no judgment). Crunchy fries loaded with shawarma, garlic sauce, and just enough kick. * Family Shawarma Plate with Fries - Big portions, great variety, and perfect for a hungry group. Note on Service Time: Was the service fast? Not exactly. But here's the thing--it's clearly made fresh to order, and you can taste the difference. Everything came out hot, seasoned well, and never felt rushed or reheated. Highlights: * Consistently great across multiple cities * Clean setup and friendly staff * Ideal for late-night bites, group meals, or serious shawarma lovers Bottom line: worth the wait. Afrah is THE place to be for Mediterranean food - before Greenville Ave became Arab central, before there was anyone, there was Afrah. A beautiful, airy restaurant with gorgeous seating, a bustling dessert case, ice cream center and so many treats to offer under one roof. Afrah is to the Muslim community in Richardson as a glove is to a hand. It truly is a one stop shop for all your nostalgic cravings, and it would be a grave injustice on my part if I didn't stop by here and sing praise to one of the most loved Mediterranean restaurants in the DFW area. We visited here recently for an iftar buffet experience and were very very happy with the food we got. The buffet line was running smoothly, from staff working diligently to hand everyone a tray with napkins, plates and cutlery already set for you. Waiters were going around the massive dining hall clearing plates, making sure everyone had what they needed, seating patrons and asking if everything tasted good. This establishment runs like a literal well oiled machine and I am so impressed. The food was as always out of this world. Carefully prepared menu that satisfies everyone's taste buds. A good selection of classic cold appetizers like the baba ghanoush, hummus, and variety of salads. Always including something unique for a typical Middle Eastern flare. Hot lentil soup available with bowls carefully placed in the vicinity. So many different types of kebabs and freshly made hot pita bread being replaced like clockwork. The buffet had many of my favorite classics like Shawarma meat, beef kebab, chicken kebab. Lamb, chicken stew, baked chicken, everything was present in abundance. They even had salmon which I deeply appreciated as a seafood lover. My only complaint is the food wasn't hot enough which can be annoying with a buffet that is serving so many people during a busy time like Ramadan. Everything tasted absolutely phenomenal and when I returned for dessert, I was greeted with six different types of sweets from all over the world. That's the thing about this place. There's always something for everybody. The dining hall was bustling with not just Muslim patrons, but also a lot of American white patrons who equally enjoy the food here as much as we do. Inclusions of dishes like shrimp pasta, fried fish, chocolate mousse, and other fan favorites is a humble nod to non-Arab customers who love to frequent this place as much as we do. If you are looking for a quality Mediterranean experience look no further than this long-standing Mediterranean Haven. Thank you for nourishing the community.
