    Unprofessional Service and Surprise Charges

Never Again -- Unexpected Table Fee Scam I visited this place with my family, and the experience was extremely unprofessional. They secretly added a table charge without informing us at any point. I only came to support them, but I will never return after this. There was no notice, no sign, and no explanation that we would be charged an extra $17.58 just to sit at a table that was no different from any regular one. For seven people, we were simply seated--nothing special, yet they added a hidden fee. The cashier, Hassna, also failed to mention anything about this charge. This is unacceptable, misleading, and untrustworthy. I will not be coming back, and I don't recommend this place to anyone

Kabob always tastes soooooooooooooooo good . 100% Totally recommend it for lunch or dinner. Staff are consistently lauded for being attentive. keeping service upbeat and tables tidy . even during busy buffet hours . Shish Kabob Café offers a delightful, no-fuss Mediterranean dining experience.

Shish Kabob Cafe Every time I am off of Coit road, I have to stop by here for lunch. This is an amazing Mediterranean buffet. The food tastes very fresh and very well prepared. Some things on this menu will amaze you. You just have to try everything. There does seem to be one waitress in here most of the time and she is doing an amazing job keeping up with everyone.

Apparently, the owners at Shiraz were the old owners at Giovanni's. It is located in a small strip mall and very nice inside. We were seated right away. We were planning on eating a lot and our waitress seemed a little irritated that we were going to share a combination chicken and kebab plate. To appease her, we also ordered some appetizers of Hummus and Babaganoush. Both were very tasty with a different taste profile than the Lebanese or Greek versions. The Koobideh and Chicken Kebab combination plate was delicious. The Rice and Grilled Tomatoes that came with it were very tasty as well. We finished off with some Baklava and Persian Tea. The Baklava tasted like it was made in-house. This place is a little pricier than some other Persian Restaurants but you can tell in their quality. I would definitely return here in the future.

Unfortunately, I didn't like the taste, it was nothing special and was just okay. I ordered their most popular item which is Baghaleh Polo ba Mahicheh (Lima Bean & Dill rice and Lamb Shank). Lamb shank was tendered and easy to eat but had no taste. Tasted like I was just eating a boiled meat. Rice was also nothing special. I have ate Persian food at other places and just the taste of rice is always to die for. Unfortunately, I didn't taste the same here and it was just a simple boiled rice with bean and dill. Customer service was great and had no issues with it. Restaurant is old, aged, and very run down. They don't even have proper restaurant menu and have bunch of random old photos on loose papers and some on the wall. It doesn't look owner (old) has any intentions to renovate/update. It was also very hard to locate from outside as there is a very small hidden restaurant sign and you will easily miss it if going for the first time. Very limited free parking next door. From outside restaurant looks like it is inside a house with overgrown front yard with weed and others. I guess owner is just happy with as-is setup and income :) Not sure if I will go again or not, but you can definitely try your luck with other food items.

You can pile your plate high enough to feed a small medieval village, which is good, because you're going to need all those calories to recover from the sheer emotional confusion of the experience. The portions are endless, but the flavor profile has apparently been locked in a witness protection program, because it is nowhere to be found. I ate a mountain of food that tasted politely like nothing, as if the spices took an extended vacation and forgot to notify the kitchen. To make matters worse, I scooped up some Baghali Polo, which visually looked so authentic and picturesque that it belonged in a travel magazine. Unfortunately, eating it felt less like enjoying a traditional Persian meal and more like stepping on a tactical minefield. One second you're having a pleasant texture, and the next you are crunching down unexpectedly on hard, undercooked rice bits that threaten to violently separate your molars from your jaw. The only redeeming grace of the entire operation is that the owner is genuinely one of the nicest, most welcoming human beings on the planet. He greeted me with such warmth that I couldn't even bring myself to look angry, forcing me to sit there at the all-you-can-eat bar chewing my acoustic-hazard rice with a pained, polite smile while questioning every choice that led me to that table.

I ordered the Chicken TAwook plate with fries and tabouleh. It was divine. I love that it came with garlic sauce. That's actually why I ordered it. I was impressed with how my fries remained crispy even though they didn't make any steam holes. The tabouleh was so fresh and the rice was perfectly cooked. The star of my plate was of course the chicken; there was a lot of it. Large chunks that were perfectly grilled and they weren't dry. My husband ordered the Kafka Beef Plate with tabouleh and hummus. I hate that I had to remove a star but he said his hummus was "runny and watery". I was having too much fun with my food to investigate, but I'm going to take his word for it. I'm picky with hummus so I don't normally order it from random places. He'll learn someday. He also didn't like a spice that was in the Kafta. It was probably nutmeg or cumin or a combination of both. I also have learned my lesson with Mediterranean cuisine that I'm unfamiliar with. I don't like cinnamon or those pumpkin pie variety of spices in my meat so I never order anything that's beef or lamb. In their defense, I bet the meat was delicious if you like those spices. I wish they had included ketchup for my fries. I'd order from here again.

I walked in thinking I'd have a "light lunch" and walked out needing a nap and a structural engineer to check if my belt was still up to code. The Food: The hummus is so smooth I'm pretty sure it could solve international conflicts if we just gave everyone a pita bread peace treaty. I ordered the Kabob, and let me tell you, the meat was so tender it basically gave up and melted the second it saw my fork. The rice is fluffy enough to be used as a premium hotel pillow, though I wouldn't recommend sleeping on it--you'll want to eat every grain. The Experience: The staff is great, but be warned: they have a "dangerously hospitable" vibe. You'll be sitting there, minding your own business, and suddenly there's more food on your table. I didn't know if I was at a restaurant or if I'd been adopted by a Iranian family who thinks I haven't eaten since 2022. The Verdict: If you're in Frisco. TX and you want to eat until you can no longer comfortably sit behind a steering wheel, this is your spot. Come for the garlic sauce, stay because you're physically too heavy to leave. Pro Tip: Wear your "stretchy" pants. You've been warned.
