This chicken is so moist and crispy! The chicken batter is so light but super crispy. You can hear the crunch on every bite! I love how they make the food fresh so it's piping hot every time. For the bone it, it's about a 20 min wait. For the tenders, it's a 15 min wait. This a must try! Fries were crispy and mashed potatoes went well with the chicken. The biscuit was not bad. Wish it had a little more honey on it. The spicy wasn't really spicy to me but I have a high spice tolerance lol I liked the agua de piedra water. Salad was basic but nice to have a lil veggies with all the fried food
A friend recommended this place, so we decided to check it out. We did takeout on Saturday, 3/28/26. We ordered a 2 x 4 piece Tenders with sides and 2 x 2 piece (breast and wing) with sides. Everything was delicious and still hot! The only issues: They ran out of the Mike's Sauce. Huh???! The wait was significant ~ probably about 30-40 minutes. We wish it was closer to the house, so we can go more often!
We placed a dine-in order ahead of time and the food was ready shortly after our arrival. Perfect timing! I observed pleasant and attentive interactions with the staff and guests. Two people from our group ordered the 4-piece tender meal and three others each ordered the half chicken meal. Everyone was thrilled about their food and repeatedly said that it was delicious! The spicy tenders warrant special mention. They were had the perfect balance of spice, texture, moisture, and flavor. The green beans were also a highlight! They were garlicky l, crunchy, and perfectly seasoned.
We had the chance to finally dine-in. The same, consistent spicy fried chicken we always get. They now have an ordering kiosk but still take time for orders to come out. Expect a 20 minutes wait for your chicken to cooked to perfection. We always order half a chicken and sometimes an extra piece of thigh but today I have an extra piece of tender. This location have a drive thru but you can't order on the spot. It's for online orders only. I'm just really excited for this corner of Plano. Hey have 2 of my favorites food places here now.
This place is crowded and loud from people and they have speakers with music playing. The wait can be about 10-30 minutes depending on what you order, ours was 40 minutes. The food was ok. First you're waiting long cause it's fresh. The spicy chicken was saltier than I prefer. The mashed potatoes were ok and the green beans were barely warm. Overall if they can speed up service and use less salt, it could be quite good.
I don't know who Mike is.. But I can tell you one thing, he knows how to fry some chicken. You have two choices regular or spicy. I'm not into spicy foods so I immediately ordered the regular. I must say as good as the chicken was, the regular lacked flavor. I think next time for once, I will try the spicy just to have some flavor.
We went on the Grand Opening day of the Plano location, right when they open. 30 minutes in and the whole parking lot and inside is filled with people. The inside is really nice and spacious, the location is good too right next to the highway. We got their half chicken with creamy corn and fries as the 2 sides, and we got Mike's sauce and Gravy for our sauces. All of this only costed $16, yes, $16 to fill up 2 people! If you order the tenders (which are super delicious btw), the wait time is about 10-15 minutes but if you order bone-in chicken, it takes longer about 25 minutes. The food came out piping hot and the chicken was incredibly juicy, even the chicken breast had so much juice. The batter made the skin so crispy and flavorful, but it was a bit oily though. The creamy corn was okay, not as flavorful as the location on Forest Lane, that one is my favorite ever! Overall, this location is good but I think it tastes a bit different from their other locations though, I would prefer the one on Forest Ln more. I would come back after a while so they hopefully perfect their recipes by then :)

So I definitely need to revisit Mike's when I actually have time to sit down and enjoy it properly. I stopped in between work appointments and quickly realized that this is not a fast in and out lunch spot. There's no drive-through for customers, it's only for delivery pick ups, so you have to go inside and it gets very busy during lunch. If you want bone-in chicken, expect about a 30 minute wait since it's made to order. I went with spicy chicken tenders instead, and got two sides. The creamed corn and mashed potatoes plus a biscuit. First of all, the tenders are actually spicy, which pleasantly surprised me and they were cooked perfectly. The creamed corn was really good, especially mixed into the mashed potatoes. And the biscuit was soft and buttery and nothing like those hard hockey puck biscuits you get at some chicken fast food places. The food was excellent across the board, but this is definitely a place best enjoyed when you're not rushed. If you really want to experience everything they offer, come when you have time. Stay tuned because I will most definitely be back.
Food is phenomenal. 3 piece dark and tenders are 13 each platter but they come with 2 sides and a biscuit. I ordered the Mac and cheese as a side but that is a $1 extra charge. Food is made fresh so expect to wait at least 15 minutes. Downside is there is only one stall restroom for each sex. Another downside is that I found only one place to dispose of trash. The place can be pretty packed so you'd really have to be on the lookout for seats during peak hours.
I thought that the food here was pretty good. The chicken was so moist and juicy that literal liquid was pouring out. The skin was super crispy and the sauces were amazing. I really liked the buffalo sauce and mikes sauce. The honey mustard was also good and I think the ranch was a little lacking. The fries were amazing and the creamy corn was alright, but I think the coleslaw is much better. I thought the service here was amazing, our cashier was super friendly and nice. The restaurant itself has a unique design and loved how open and roomy it was. It was also very clean and neat.
Sad that it wasn't great, really wanted to love it! We went 2-3 weeks after opening and unfortunately it was a miss. The wait time was extremely long, it took about 35 minutes to get our food to go. There seemed to be no proper time management or system in place, some people got their food sooner and others were waiting for over an hour. The fries and biscuit were great! Unfortunately the fried chicken seemed too greasy for my liking, maybe that's a personal preference. The mac and cheese was ok, nothing special and light on flavor. The gravy was good but one was runnier and one was extremely thick, flavor was good though. Spicy tenders were good overall. Maybe they need a little more time to get things in order and quality control under control, might try them again in a few months because I hear the Dallas location is amazing.
You know it's good because of the packed house. Be sure to order ahead. Fried chicken was just like grandma's. Hot, crispy, and delicious! Sides are wonderful and huge portions. Be prepared to share a table. Family feel to the inside. Definitely coming back.
Tried Mike's Chicken and really enjoyed the food. The chicken was crispy, flavorful, and juicy, which is exactly what I look for in fried chicken. The biscuit was also great - soft, fluffy, and not dry at all. The green beans were cooked well, although the flavor was a little too salty for my taste. The creamed corn wasn't bad either and was a nice addition to the meal to help balance the saltiness. A great spot for fried chicken and the place was clean and well kept. read more

Rating: 9/10 Date Last Visited: 6/30/2026 I ordered the 3 pc dark fried chicken w/ fries and cole slaw ($13). You have the option to choose two thighs and a leg or two legs and a thigh. My two thighs happened to be on the smaller side, so they hooked me up with another leg. The chicken is fried very well, the skin is super crispy. The chicken itself is moist and juicy too. The fries were pretty solid, the slaw was standard, and the biscuit was average. The combo also comes with a side of sauce, which I chose the Mike's sauce, which is some sort of orange sauce that goes well with the chicken and fries. The service is pretty good too as the employees are attentive and nice. For the price, this is really worth it. Mike's is some of the best fried chicken I've had in the DFW area. I would make sure to place an online order since they cook the chicken fresh, which takes about 15-20 minutes. Overall, I would recommend this place if you want fried chicken. read more

Mikes chicken has finally opened their new location in Plano. This location makes it more convenient to try them since it's closer to my house than the other 2. I got a 2 pc dark plate, which comes with a thigh and a drumstick, 2 sides, a biscuit, and 2 sauces. I also got my chicken spicy. Wait time was about 20 minutes for my food to come out. The chicken skin was crispyyyyy affff and had a little spicy kick in it. The chicken was fresh out of the fryer so they were piping hot and full of juice. For my sides I got the corn and the coleslaw. They were just ok, nothing special. Corn was kinda heavy, and I usually like coleslaw with more mayo mixed in. Theirs was dry and pickled. I got their special mikes sauce and honey mustard as well. The biscuit was not dry and covered with a coating of honey. If you're wanting and in and out experience, this is not the place! Every meal is "cooked" to order. When I placed my order at the counter I was told it would be about 20 minutes. I had my order in under 10 minutes. I had to taste first the green beans and corn. The garlic green beans were wonderful. The corn was not a wow, but okay. I had a biscuit and a slice of bread with some pickles. The chicken the real reason why I came to visit, was good. The crunch reminded me of a Korean style fried chicken. You Low playing music adds a vibe to Mikes. Not loud or over the top. The last thing I'll say is, a warm smile goes a long way. I am assuming but could be wrong is to push all the orders online, because people know there is a wait time. That way your order is paid for when you walk in and go! Listen, I'm usually not one to order bone-in chicken first, I'm a chicken finger girl, but let me tell you - this chicken was hot & fresh, juicy, the batter was perfect. Really good and really crunchy, full of flavor! And honestly, one of the best fast food biscuits I've ever had. So soft, fluffy, melt in your mouth. I loved the brushed honey on top. This location opened recently so I had to try it after hearing all the rave and love for it. And boy it did not disappoint and I totally get the hype now!! Some of the best fried chicken I've had stateside. It's a bit like eating Korean fried chicken meets southern chicken for the former's crispiness and the latter's flavor profile. I tried the spicy dark meat and it was so good. The spice wasn't too much I could've handled more yet it gives enough of a kick. As for the sides I highly recommend the fries. The green beans and creamed corn were good too. My husband liked the Mac n cheese but it's a bit too waxy for me. But that's more of a preference thing it didn't taste fake though. So overall this is an amazing spot for fried chicken. Do expect a decent wait especially since this just opened a few weeks ago. read more

I was pleasantly surprised. You will wait about 20 mins for your order because as is very clear - this is not a fast food place. Totally worth the wait. The tenders and the bone in chicken are delicious. The sides are wonderful and filling. My favorites were the fries and corn. The Mac n cheese was also good but maybe a little mushy. Stayed at a hotel nearby and stumbled upon this location. Fairly new so interior looked clean and comfy. First time I ordered the leg +thigh, original, (choice of two sides) I chose mashed potatoes w/gravy and paid the extra to get an extra biscuit; it already comes with one. The wait was a little long but that just verified that it was made to order. When my order was ready, wait was 15 min, I ordered one of their reeces peanut butter cookie for my dessert. My food was gone quick. EVERYTHING tasted fantastic. Chicken was crispy, mashed potatoes was comforting, and biscuits were fresh with a little sweetness brushed on the top. And I can't forget about the reeses cookie. It was so good. It was bigger than my palm, soft and chewy, and if peanut butter and reeses is your jam you'll have no regrets other than not buying two. First timer here. I heard it was really good so I figured I would try it. I placed my online order at 5:30pm on a Saturday and the ready time they gave me was 6:15pm. I drove from Lewisville so that was fine. They have a "convenient" drive through for mobile order pickups which sounds great...until your order isn't ready and they ask you to circle back around. Then that circle request turns into 5 more circles around. I felt bad for the drive thru employee since he had to be the bearer of bad news. "Orders are behind" he says. I gave them grace because they haven't been open even a month yet. Each time I circled the building I would look at the crowd inside and they looked miserable each time (photo for giggles). If my order took an hour total theirs was probably similar. 20 minutes later I got my food! It WAS worth the wait. I got the spicy breast/thigh combo with green beans and corn (literally the only 2 sides available to order at the time). It came with a biscuit. I added on a tender (to try) and a whole jalapeño. The Mike's sauce is a good dipping option for the tenders. The green beans were seasoned well. The creamy corn was just right. I'm not a biscuit girl but if you are I think it's a good one, brushed with honey on top. And finally the fried chicken: I don't know what sorcery they use to fry their chicken but the crust was perfectly crispy and spicy while the chicken was juicy and delicious. Mike, you're on to something but the wait time could definitely improve. read more
Deliciously crispy, tasty chicken! My husband got the two breast meal and ordered spicy. I got three wings meal without the spiciness. It was tasty, but the spicy crispy skin on my husbands chicken convinced me to get spicy next time. The sides were delicious ... he had fries which seemed to have a bit of a coating on them (delicious), we both had the green beans which were prepared very healthy and fresh, and I got mashed potatoes and gravy. We got a choice of two sauces and I selected gravy as one of my sauces, which was a good thing since I didn't get much gravy on my mashed potatoes. They have a sign posted on the wall to prepare people for the wait time in their orders. For bone-in chicken it indicated a 20-25 minute wait ... it was more like 30-35. My 5 star rating gave them grace ... they do need to work on their process since the meals are handed out from the kitchen and the counter staff then must open each one to figure out which order they belong to. Hope they get that straightened out. In the meantime, we will order ahead. We will definitely be back and this will be one of my favorite spots. read more

Great addition to the chain was super happy when they opened up a location in/near Plano. Great food, I recommend the spicy fried chicken. Best Buffalo Sauce ever!!! The only place I'll eat Buffalo flavored anything. Fresh fried chicken so it takes about 20 min for your order but worth it. Friendly service and clean. read more

The food was great, thankfully, because the service left a lot to be desired. I placed an online order and picked it up through the drive-thru, but the employee at the window was surprisingly rude. While I'd likely order the food again, I wouldn't return to this location--especially since this was my first time trying Mike's Chicken. A more welcoming and professional greeting at the window would make a big difference. read more

Glad to see Mike's Chicken make its way up to the suburbs. I went after the lunch rush and thankfully only ran into a line with less than 10 people. At Mike's Chicken they fry their chicken fresh here so it takes a little longer to get your food. However, the wait is worth it. I usually frequent the location on Forest Ln across from Medical City, but this location is closer to me now. You get the crispiest chicken and it's burning hot too! I've never had any chicken that was this hot and juicy before until Mike's and I'm glad to say that this remains true at this location. You order with the employee at the front or at the computer right next to them. While I was waiting for my food I noticed that many people were confused and thought you could only order at the computer. There was a line to order at the computer while the guy just stood there. Would have been helpful if he directed some customers towards him instead. The food took around 15 minutes to come out so that was excellent. As for the chicken itself it was almost as perfect as the other Mike's location. The chicken was burning hot, the skin was extremely crispy, and it was so juicy. I got spicy and the chicken was indeed spicy. The only downside was that the chicken was a little bland compared to the other Mike's location. Still delicious, but if you ate at the other locations often then you'll be able to tell the difference. The creamed corn was delicious, biscuit was nice and fluffy, and the fries are spectacular (my favorite French fry in all of DFW). The Mac and cheese though was overcooked. The pasta was mushy and it was lukewarm. Flavors were delicious though. Plus every fried chicken order comes with a dipping sauce and pickles. I love the pickles here and the Mike's sauce and ranch were so good. All in all I highly recommend that everyone go to Mike's Chicken. They're still relatively new at this location so there are some kinks to work out, but these are all things they can fix. I'm just glad there's a location closer to my home. They also serve chicken tenders, chicken sandwiches, and salads instead of bone-in chicken. I know some picky kids who don't like bone-in chicken and prefer tenders so Mike's Chicken has you covered. Bonus: they also have a drive-thru IF you order ahead on their website. read more
