My two thighs happened to be on the smaller side, so they hooked me up with another leg. The chicken is fried very well, the skin is super crispy. The chicken itself is moist and juicy too. The fries were pretty solid, the slaw was standard, and the biscuit was average. The combo also comes with a side of sauce, which I chose the Mike's sauce, which is some sort of orange sauce that goes well with the chicken and fries. The service is pretty good too as the employees are attentive and nice. For the price, this is really worth it. Mike's is some of the best fried chicken I've had in the DFW area. I would make sure to place an online order since they cook the chicken fresh, which takes about 15-20 minutes. Overall, I would recommend this place if you want fried chicken. read more

This chicken is so moist and crispy! The chicken batter is so light but super crispy. You can hear the crunch on every bite! I love how they make the food fresh so it's piping hot every time. For the bone it, it's about a 20 min wait. For the tenders, it's a 15 min wait. This a must try! Fries were crispy and mashed potatoes went well with the chicken. The biscuit was not bad. If you're wanting and in and out experience, this is not the place! Every meal is "cooked" to order. When I placed my order at the counter I was told it would be about 20 minutes. I had my order in under 10 minutes. I had to taste first the green beans and corn. The garlic green beans were wonderful. The corn was not a wow, but okay. I had a biscuit and a slice of bread with some pickles. The chicken the real reason why I came to visit, was good. The crunch reminded me of a Korean style fried chicken. You Low playing music adds a vibe to Mikes. Not loud or over the top. The last thing I'll say is, a warm smile goes a long way. We had the chance to finally dine-in. The same, consistent spicy fried chicken we always get. They now have an ordering kiosk but still take time for orders to come out. I know they are new but they need to work out the kinks before opening. This is not their first location. I've been going to their original oak lawn location for like ten years. I thought that the food here was pretty good. The chicken was so moist and juicy that literal liquid was pouring out. The skin was super crispy and the sauces were amazing. I really liked the buffalo sauce and mikes sauce. The honey mustard was also good and I think the ranch was a little lacking. So I definitely need to revisit Mike's when I actually have time to sit down and enjoy it properly. I stopped in between work appointments and quickly realized that this is not a fast in and out lunch spot. There's no drive-through for customers, it's only for delivery pick ups, so you have to go inside and it gets very busy during lunch. If you want bone-in chicken, expect about a 30 minute wait since it's made to order. I went with spicy chicken tenders instead, and got two sides. The creamed corn and mashed potatoes plus a biscuit. First of all, the tenders are actually spicy, which pleasantly surprised me and they were cooked perfectly. The creamed corn was really good, especially mixed into the mashed potatoes. And the biscuit was soft and buttery and nothing like those hard hockey puck biscuits you get at some chicken fast food places. The food was excellent across the board, but this is definitely a place best enjoyed when you're not rushed. If you really want to experience everything they offer, come when you have time. We went on the Grand Opening day of the Plano location, right when they open. 30 minutes in and the whole parking lot and inside is filled with people. The inside is really nice and spacious, the location is good too right next to the highway. We got their half chicken with creamy corn and fries as the 2 sides, and we got Mike's sauce and Gravy for our sauces. All of this only costed $16, yes, $16 to fill up 2 people! If you order the tenders (which are super delicious btw), the wait time is about 10-15 minutes but if you order bone-in chicken, it takes longer about 25 minutes. The food came out piping hot and the chicken was incredibly juicy, even the chicken breast had so much juice. The batter made the skin so crispy and flavorful, but it was a bit oily though. The creamy corn was okay, not as flavorful as the location on Forest Lane, that one is my favorite ever! Overall, this location is good but I think it tastes a bit different from their other locations though, I would prefer the one on Forest Ln more. There seemed to be no proper time management or system in place, some people got their food sooner and others were waiting for over an hour. The fries and biscuit were great! Unfortunately the fried chicken seemed too greasy for my liking, maybe that's a personal preference. The mac and cheese was ok, nothing special and light on flavor. The gravy was good but one was runnier and one was extremely thick, flavor was good though. Spicy tenders were good overall. First timer here. I heard it was really good so I figured I would try it. I placed my online order at 5:30pm on a Saturday and the ready time they gave me was 6:15pm. I drove from Lewisville so that was fine. They have a "convenient" drive through for mobile order pickups which sounds great...until your order isn't ready and they ask you to circle back around. Then that circle request turns into 5 more circles around. I felt bad for the drive thru employee since he had to be the bearer of bad news. "Orders are behind" he says. I gave them grace because they haven't been open even a month yet. Each time I circled the building I would look at the crowd inside and they looked miserable each time (photo for giggles). If my order took an hour total theirs was probably similar. 20 minutes later I got my food! It WAS worth the wait. I got the spicy breast/thigh combo with green beans and corn (literally the only 2 sides available to order at the time). It came with a biscuit. I added on a tender (to try) and a whole jalapeño. The Mike's sauce is a good dipping option for the tenders. The green beans were seasoned well. The creamy corn was just right. I'm not a biscuit girl but if you are I think it's a good one, brushed with honey on top. And finally the fried chicken: I don't know what sorcery they use to fry their chicken but the crust was perfectly crispy and spicy while the chicken was juicy and delicious. It was tasty, but the spicy crispy skin on my husbands chicken convinced me to get spicy next time. The sides were delicious ... he had fries which seemed to have a bit of a coating on them (delicious), we both had the green beans which were prepared very healthy and fresh, and I got mashed potatoes and gravy. We got a choice of two sauces and I selected gravy as one of my sauces, which was a good thing since I didn't get much gravy on my mashed potatoes. They have a sign posted on the wall to prepare people for the wait time in their orders. For bone-in chicken it indicated a 20-25 minute wait ... it was more like 30-35. My 5 star rating gave them grace ... they do need to work on their process since the meals are handed out from the kitchen and the counter staff then must open each one to figure out which order they belong to. We opted to try this location the week after the official opening. The crowds had diminished a little and we were able to find a parking spot. Ordering was a bit chaotic as there were many people standing around and weren't sure which was the order line and which was the pick up line. The person taking our order was friendly and efficient so that was a positive. Inside was a little on the noisy side for us. I'm blaming that on the open ceiling and cement flooring. Definitely a lot of reverb and echo going on when it is at high occupancy. We waited about 25 minutes for our order to be ready. A definite negative. And the ability to sit while waiting was limited at best. We were finally able to snag a few seats by the side door. Overall food was good. The crunch on the chicken was excellent. Though we felt the breading was a little bland and needed more seasoning. The sides were very good as well. The mac and cheese was not mushy but rather a good firmness. Glad to see Mike's Chicken make its way up to the suburbs. I went after the lunch rush and thankfully only ran into a line with less than 10 people. At Mike's Chicken they fry their chicken fresh here so it takes a little longer to get your food. However, the wait is worth it. I usually frequent the location on Forest Ln across from Medical City, but this location is closer to me now. You get the crispiest chicken and it's burning hot too! I've never had any chicken that was this hot and juicy before until Mike's and I'm glad to say that this remains true at this location. You order with the employee at the front or at the computer right next to them. While I was waiting for my food I noticed that many people were confused and thought you could only order at the computer. There was a line to order at the computer while the guy just stood there. Would have been helpful if he directed some customers towards him instead. The food took around 15 minutes to come out so that was excellent. As for the chicken itself it was almost as perfect as the other Mike's location. The chicken was burning hot, the skin was extremely crispy, and it was so juicy. I got spicy and the chicken was indeed spicy. The only downside was that the chicken was a little bland compared to the other Mike's location. Still delicious, but if you ate at the other locations often then you'll be able to tell the difference. The creamed corn was delicious, biscuit was nice and fluffy, and the fries are spectacular (my favorite French fry in all of DFW). The Mac and cheese though was overcooked. The pasta was mushy and it was lukewarm. Flavors were delicious though. Plus every fried chicken order comes with a dipping sauce and pickles. I love the pickles here and the Mike's sauce and ranch were so good. All in all I highly recommend that everyone go to Mike's Chicken. They're still relatively new at this location so there are some kinks to work out, but these are all things they can fix. I'm just glad there's a location closer to my home. They also serve chicken tenders, chicken sandwiches, and salads instead of bone-in chicken. I know some picky kids who don't like bone-in chicken and prefer tenders so Mike's Chicken has you covered.
