We opted to try this location the week after the official opening. The crowds had diminished a little and we were able to find a parking spot. Ordering was a bit chaotic as there were many people standing around and weren't sure which was the order line and which was the pick up line. The person taking our order was friendly and efficient so that was a positive. Inside was a little on the noisy side for us. I'm blaming that on the open ceiling and cement flooring. Definitely a lot of reverb and echo going on when it is at high occupancy. We waited about 25 minutes for our order to be ready. A definite negative. And the ability to sit while waiting was limited at best. We were finally able to snag a few seats by the side door. Overall food was good. The crunch on the chicken was excellent. Though we felt the breading was a little bland and needed more seasoning. The sides were very good as well. The mac and cheese was not mushy but rather a good firmness. The fries were well cooked and not soggy or limp. We will give it another try soon to see if they have found their groove and improved on speed of getting food out. read more

EDIT TO ADD...Whatever the material. The bag and box were open when I saw them at the drive through window shelf (at that time, I was not yet sure it was my order). Perhaps you need to address your takeout procedures. When I called (5 times in 5-10 mins) to say I accidentally chose cole slaw instead of mac n cheese (as the Toast App directs), I was told there would be a dollar upcharge for the mac n cheese. I said "no problem, and I'm not dissing your coleslaw, because it's lovely." I was not told at that time it would not be added to the initial order charge; I just grabbed my bag and left since I had not received an alert the order was ready. I merely advised others in case they had the same issue. After looking at your photo, it looks similar to you (or someone who somewhat resembles you) who did the pointing when I arrived. No greeting. Just a flung out arm...I didn't realize that an excess of patrons allows for rudeness. No big deal, I was prepared to wait. If that was indeed you, I came in with a smile. I left with disgust, if it was not, indeed you, I still left feeling being treated with less respect and kindness than what a paying customer should receive. Your response doesn't surprise me after how I felt about the entire process...you reacted with a threat. Good Luck. Takes SEVERAL ATTEMPTS for them to answer the phone if you have a question about your online order. If you want to change your order after ordering via "Toast," be aware they are not able to add the charge to the existing order. In my case, I was screamed at from across and several feet down the counter how much I still owed...despite not telling me to expect to either bring cash or a card to cover the change when I actually called. (In my case, $1.09...for the egregious error of accidentally hitting cole slaw instead of mac and cheese...) Meanwhile, they couldn't locate my order and then...there it was, sitting by the takeout window...bag wide open...as was the styrofoam box...not exactly hygienic. Also, I never received a notification that the order was even ready and only went by the fact I originally saw it would be ready around 8:05. Upon arrival, I asked where to go for pickup and the guy at the far right register just flung his arm out and pointed to the other end of the counter. No one was there, then some young kid climbed up on the counter to the left of the drive up window to get something and left. A girl finally came over and figured out mine was the open bag by the drive up window. I then fished a dollar and a quarter from my purse, handed it off and, having little hope the initial rude guy would actually know how to make change without getting help from Google, I grabbed my bag and left. Word to the wise...If you order pickup (via "Toast" or whatever else they use), DO NOT TIP ON THE APP!!! WAIT until you get there and MAYBE they will learn to use a little respect upon your arrival. This was a pickup order and it went smoothly. This was my first time trying Mike's Chicken and I can say that the food far exceeded my expectations. The fried chicken and sides were spot-on. This establishment leaves places like Babe's in the dust. Hands down the best fried chicken I've had at a restaurant. You won't be disappointed with the Plano location. When I ordered from the Plano location, I tried the spicy dark chicken, but it wasn't spicy at all and was quite oily, with a puddle of oil underneath. The green beans were OK but very stringy, and I was overall dissatisfied with the to-go order. I didn't even have the energy to call and complain.
