The hot is HOT! I like spicy and this is up there. Its got a great flavor but is legit hot. I ordered the big cheese stick which delivers in size and comes with slice of bread and some pickles, about $6 all in. If I got again I would get medium. My lips are burning long after eating the hot. read more

There was a hair in the food, not just on top of the bread. I mean I took a bite, and the hair was cooked into the chicken. Went back and they gave me another meal but other than the manager didn't really seem to care. read more

I got tenders and they tasted delicious. The customer service was great, and the price was very reasonable. Overall, it was a satisfying meal and a good value. read more

Dave's Hot Chicken - Tenders - Chicken Shop Near Me - Richardson, Texas

It's a cute chicken place but pricey for a chicken and fast casual food. The meal prices don't include a drink which is silly. The full meal with a drink is $16 or so. The sandwich was good and filling and they do give you actual large amount of fries. I came for the x men toy but I didn't enjoy it so much to come back read more

We are addicted. My 10 year old always asks when a location is near so we can go eat:). We get the 2 sandwhich combo, medium in heat level. Omg! Slathering that honey all over it is so good! The Mac n cheese is a fave as well. You can get extra sauce and pickles if you like. Drink is extra. Love eating here! read more

Good battered chicken, fries, pickles, sauce and not much else. They keep it simple and straightforward. Choose fried boneless tenders, chicken bites, or fried cauliflower bites with fries, a slice of bread, and pickles. Then pick your level of hot which ranges from low to high heat. Make sure to grab their sauce and some honey as well. The service can be slow which has been my experience every time I visit but the food is really good. read more

Excited cauliflower bites are back disappointed can only order them in size of 10 pieces. Utilized drive thru and took soooo long and they were not that busy. I get they cook fresh when ordered but right at 20 minutes for a box of bites so sad. Awww Dave's I was hoping better from you as I pass 3 chicken places to get to you. So there is plenty of yummy spicy chicken in the neighborhood you were our go to for alternative choices. 2 of the 10 where dried out chicken bites, really. read more

Dave's Hot Chicken - #Dave's #3 1 Tender & 1 Slider w/ Fries - Chicken Shop Near Me - Richardson, Texas

Great customer service, great food, nice restaurant itself. The chicken is nice and crispy and the fries are amazingly seasoned

Long time Dave's fan here. I was there the day this location opened. Aside from a few so-so experiences early on it's been pretty consistently good. That brings us to yesterday. Got our usual order, two sliders w/cheese which looked a little off. Took a bite and it was not juicy, did not taste like brined chicken, had no crisp to the skin. On closer inspection it looked far more like a tender than the filet we were accustomed to. Typically the filet covers and is much bigger than the bun but these were much, much smaller like a tender. This was the case for three out of the four sandwiches in our order. Additionally the spice level was way off which has been an issue for Dave's from time to time. I ordered extra hot and there was very little heat. The spice level is manageable but the poor quality of the chicken is unacceptable. The fries were also stiff and subpar to match entire meal. I don't mind paying a premium for a high quality chicken sandwich but I expect it to live up to its price tag. This unfortunately did not. read more

The chicken had a very sweet taste. We ordered the mild and it was just okay. The fries were decent but the fried pickles also had a sweet batter, the ranch was not good, but Dave's sauce helped. Won't be going back. read more

The food is very good, but a little pricey. When I compare the amount of food you get with the price you pay, versus the other popular chicken finger place, not far from here, It was a little surprising. Once I got the food, I understood better. The chicken fingers at Dave's is more than twice the size of the competitors chicken fingers, so it becomes a wash. Thing is, they've got all different levels of spice/heat on these things. I love that. This was my first visit at Dave's Hot Chicken, and it did not disappoint. I got the number three combo, medium, plus I got an additional two chicken fingers. I'm not a big fan of slaw, especially on a sandwich, so I asked for it on the side. I gave it a try and added some to the sandwich, it's just not my thing. Perfectly happy with the sandwich/slider without slaw, and it was great. The two additional chicken fingers I got, I got as mild, just in case the medium was a bit too much. The medium was perfectly satisfying without being too hot. The mild was really good as well, but I think I'll stick with the medium when I come back. read more

The tenders are ginormous. I wasn't sure if two tenders would be enough but I think I might only be able to eat 1. Food came out fast and hot. read more

Had higher hopes! Building look fabulous, food quality, meh, cold. Ordered the single sandwich (medium hot) with FF's. The glass they give you for water is the size of a Dixie cup, way too small. Also, why do businesses that have counter service try to intimidate customers into tipping...especially starting with 18%??!! I am an excellent tipper, but it should be for full service, those employees only make $2.13 an hour. Sadly I will not be a repeat customer. read more

I expected better from this place considering there are so many other chicken options nearby. Disappointingly, everything about Dave's Hot Chicken was pretty bad . Ordered to go and had to wait over 20 minutes for my slider. When I got home I realized they gave me a single chicken tender instead but they sure did charge me $7+ for it. I decided to give this a try instead of going back but it was the most tasteless chicken I have ever had. I really don't see this place lasting. You can find better chicken down the street at a much better price. read more

Lowkey mid af compared to the hot fried chicken spots in DFW. Prices are pretty high for what you're getting and their sauce doesn't hit like it should; its like 95% mayo. They do have spicy chicken but it isn't as flavorful as it should be. It is halal though, but drizzy drake owns it so overall its "ight" read more

I rarely leave bad reviews, but my visit to Dave's Hot Chicken was so bad, I had to. The drive-thru employee was unprofessional and made an inappropriate comment. Also, my food was overly moist, and the pickles ended up in the bag instead of the container. Not a good experience at all. read more

I forgot to take pictures but the food overall was kind of mid. The chicken is very moist which is nice but the flavor is bad and all you can taste is the spiciness. The sauce I couldn't taste much either. I did try it in Hot, Maybe I will order it in a mild next time. However, restaurant was pretty clean and the lady at the front staff was fairly polite and nice. read more

Great chicken! Excellent friendly & courteous service from Brian B. Will definitely be back again!

$15 for two tasteless tenders (medium), fries, bread and drink. The only reason I went through with my order was the amount of time I wasted in the drive through line! I will never return. read more

Not impressed. The tenders are okay but nothing special. Taste if they were coated in seasoning but the actual inner part of the tender is bland. For 3 tenders it was almost $19. Couldn't imagine feeding a family of four. The fries are ok but taste as if the seasoning was put on after cooking instead of pre-cooking. The tenders are the size of chicken breast so that's a plus. read more

My husband and I go to Dave's at least once a week. Their chicken is delicious and the spice level I perf! We were greeted nicely. But as we waited on our chicken . I noted the staff in the back around the food production area on their phones. Several had gloves on and were touching counters and their own clothing. This contaminated the food. The person assembling the food was not wearing gloves. Tables in the dining room were dirty. terrible for 2 in the afternoon. read more

Honestly the lack of traffic stands as a testiment to the lack luster over seasoned over priced chicken Cashier wasnt inviting came off stuck up and a smile would go a long We were the only ones here and got my order number screamed at us as if i wasnt already walking up to the counter after it was screamed the first time Do better read more

So fresh and so good!!! Staff was friendly and food was absolutely delicious. Would definitely recommend

Visited this location yesterday evening for the first time. Called ahead to order as we always do when ordering from Dave's and we were informed that they cannot take orders over the phone. Online ordering was not processing. Arrived and ordered a hot box of sandwiches with cheese (1/2 hot 1/2 extra hot) and a vanilla milk shake. We showed the cashier the QR on my phone as I do every time I go to Dave's and she told me about ten times to move the phone to different places to scan it without providing clear instructions. Once scanned, she told us there were no points available to redeem. We informed her we were trying to earn points on the order not redeem. She kept repeating that we had no points to redeem and we kept informing her that was not what we were trying to do. Finally, another staff member came over and we told her what we were trying to do and she repeated what we said to the cashier and told her nothing else was needed. We then requested the military discount as we always do at Dave's, the cashier was unable to locate the discount and suggested that it had been discontinued until we asked for someone else to help her. A woman who I assumed to be management, came over and assisted. She discovered the issue and fixed it. Once applied, the discount was only 10% (not sure if this is standard for this location as every other Dave's we have been to has provided a 30% military discount). We paid, received the milkshake and waited for the order. The order came out relatively quickly. The ambiance was casual and clean. We ate and shared these sandwiches once home. This morning, we all woke up with stomach aches and felt sick. These sandwiches were the only shared meal that all of us had so we attributed the illness to them. Overall the service was poor and the food was poor. We love Dave's, but would NOT return to this location after this awful experience. read more

We finally tried the famous Dave's Hot Chicken and it is lacking. First of all they don't even serve fried chicken, it's all tendies. Then they just throw the dry spices on the tendies, there's no oil or fat, just some dry dust. Then they rest this dusty tendy on a slice of white bread like don't y'all even know what the bread is for? There is nothing to soak up off of this dusty white meat. Like cool now my breads all dusty? Sauce is mid, pickles barely picklin. And it's expensive. My first instinct was to give is 1 star because Ricky's and Hattie B's are infinitely better. But it's not actually GROSS, it's okay, just far far behind the local competition. read more

The front staff is very inviting and friendly. I ordered a Dave's #4 Hot with Fries. The food was ready in an appropriate amount of time. When we received them, the fries were crunchy and tasty! The toast looks like it came from Mrs Bairds Bread instead of homemade bread. Other than that the service was great, but wish the milkshake size was bigger. I ordered a large but looks small. One last thing Extra Hot is a step lower than Reaper (u have to sign a waiver for this). I should've ordered a lower heat, but I've had Extra Hot from another restaurant, but was not as hot from what I had. read more

The food was nice and fresh. Amazing customer service. When I walked in and everything was clean and welcoming.

Delicious food, chicken it's very good nice friendly costumer service. The place is small so you can't eat inside but the food is good

Overhyped. Fries tasted salty. Tenders were nothing out of the ordinary. Slider was meh. I don't get the hype. By the way watch out on the drive through because right after the window the curb comes out in weird way and I really thought how someone might drive over it or hit it. And it was $20 bucks for a simple menu combo and 1 extra side. So my guess it's that the combo was around $15 bucks. read more
