My husband, brother, cousin, and my son and I came here for dinner on a Saturday night. We ordered naan, goat biryani, beef haleem, and nihari. They also have a buffet, but we wanted to order separate dishes. For drinks, we ordered mango lassi. The mango lassi was so fresh and delicious. My son loved it as well. This place is large with plenty of seating. The staff and service are great. Please read further for pros and cons for different foods/drinks we tried: Food: *Nihari* The meat was so tender and the gravy delicious. This went perfectly with their piping hot naan, which was very fluffy and had a great tandoor taste. No complaints here. *Goat Biryani* I did not try this, but it looked incredible *Haleem* The haleem was a little flavorless and a little watery for my liking, but it wasn't bad. *Macaroni & Cheese* I ordered this for my son and it wasn't good at all. It looked like they used a whole box of macaroni and a whole lot of cream and milk, but it didn't taste cheesy at all and was not appetizing. It also came out extremely hot and there was no warning of not touching the bowl, and it wasn't served with anything underneath it. *Chocolate Ice Cream* I also ordered this for my son and he loved it. The ice cream was very creamy and appetizing. Overall, I think the quality of the food here is great. Of course I wouldn't expect this to be an expert on making macaroni and cheese, so it's perfectly fine that that dish wasn't great. The Nihari is absolutely amazing. First off, this restaurant is HUGE! it looks like it could easily seat a hundred people. Their buffet setup is also huge but I missed it unfortunately. I ordered the palak paneer, naan, and pakora. The only saving grace was the service from one particular server, who wasn't even ours and the dining hall. This place was suuuuuper lackluster. It's an older place where I feel like they have regulars but we haven't been in a few years. I remember why we didn't go back for so long. Our order included a kids meal nuggets, fries and a soda - one chicken biryani - 2 chicken tikka burgers - second side of fries, chicken seekh kabob roll and 2 water bottles. We were told 10 minutes after ordering that they were out of chicken nuggets and we couldn't sub the soda in kids meal for a juice. Our kids do not drink soda and they didn't have any kind of juice available at all. The chicken tikka kabobs were pieces of bbq chicken, my boys didn't love them but they were okay. Hard to eat with the ingredients falling out because the chicken was cut up small. The kabob roll was full of big pieces of random cucumber and a whooole lot of mayonnaise or a mayonnaise based sauce. The chicken biryani was just all out bad. No flavor. No salt, no pepper. It literally tasted like boiled rice. I couldn't believe how bad it was. We will definitely not be going back again, total waste of our money. For the Desi equivalent of the Dim Sum experience, come here for the Sunday brunch buffet: you'll find a similarly bustling interior filled with LOADS of food, laughs, and people chattering away in foreign languages. The friendly staff, comfortable setting, and food that tasted home-made makes for a vibe that felt like we were at family's. While most buffets are notorious for serving watered-down food, at BBQ King the food comes out fresh and frequent. The "naan" was buttery and fluffy, perfect for sopping up the "Butter Chicken" which was thick, creamy, and popped with a tomato flavor. Naan could also be used to wrap around their famous "Green Chicken", which had a mostly spinach flavor instead of green chili. The "Mango Lassi" was actually thick even though it was from a big batch; it was a bit too sweet. The "Nahari", an essential dish, was rich and thick. However I felt it could've been seasoned better. Similarly, the "Chicken Biriyani" was totally bland. Some surprises: the "Halwa" was very flavorful. It had almost a creamy aftertaste. To wrap it up I used their "Paratha" which didn't look particularly appetizing because it was so brown it looked old, but it's actually because it's made from wheat! The wheat flavor added a nice nutty accent to the Halwa and made for a really satisfying finish to the meal. Give it a chance! In Desi style, I had to finish the meal with "Paan". They have a dedicated paan maker wrapping them fresh, and a lot of exciting varieties (chocolate paan, cherry paan). In Chipotle fashion, you get a thick roll wrapped in foil. So after reading reviews that state the long lengthy time for food to be ready. I ordered take out, waited an hour until I showed up. My food was ready at the desk. My food was still warm when I got home. All of the food was just ok. It wasn't great nor bad. The portion size was a slight bit more than other places with similar food. However the prices are way higher considering that the meals ordered didn't come with any rice nor naam. That had to be ordered separate and again the price was high for those very essential sides to eat your food with. The inside of the restaurant was almost elegant. There were many chandlers , unfortunately there were also random gold plastic streamers hanging from the ceiling. I think in this case less is more. read more

Fairly popular in the DFW South Asian community for its supposedly authentic flavors and value pricing, I've heard countless rave reviews of BBQ King, urging me to try them out. However, my experience here has been nothing but a swift punch to the gut. The service here was definitively sub-par, with wait staff that were uncoordinated, confused and generally unfriendly. There was no sense of hospitality or efficiency - rather, a constant sense of the customer being a burden upon them. Their inability to explain the menu only further exacerbated the problem, further hammering in the nail in this coffin. As for the food, the flavors were a range of below average to wholly disappointing, and that's before considering the prices. Their "King Chicken" in particular lists an intriguing selection of ingredients, and that's exactly where they get you. The ingredients didn't mix, complement or add to the dish in any manner. As for others dishes, they were also relatively weak on flavor and authenticity overall. It was frankly a synchronized assault on my tastebuds and wallet. Sealing this one off for now, this isn't a place I ever intend to return to. Even if someone else were to offer me a free meal, I'd still turn it down in respect to their pride and finances. Visited BBQ King for their weekend brunch buffet after a long time! The seating arrangement is decent size with adequate distancing. The buffet spread was really nice! Everything was fresh and aromatic! The dishes we were able to try were biryani, nihari, paye, chicken tikka, anda paratha, halwa puri, qeema, haleem, butter chicken, shahi tukrey, chai, sweet and mango lassi! Everything and i mean everything was delicious!! The spice level was reasonable so that was a plus for us gentle palate people and the others used some green chillies! I would really like to see them progress in customer service. It's really sad to see our Muslim community hasn't picked up on being a good host. Especially when you are running a restaurant that people depend on. Please kindly have proper energetic helpful people around customers. I have noticed a lot of times (take-out) orders are the ones are being neglected. Pay attention to those orders as well as customers dinning in. Prices can be reasonable and portions definitely need work on. I'm a valued customer that orders from them giving them the benefit of the doubt that they will come around. They had a buffet out for the night but when we asked for a la carte they happily obliged. Great food! We tried a few different dishes and they were all delicious, (Chicken tikka, beef naan). The yogurt (rata) is very spicy so make sure you only use a tad bit if your sensitive to spice. We also tried the whole chicken omg it's so good and a very large portion for sharing with a few people. The ONLY reason I gave them 3 stars is because their service sucks, we had a terrible experience in the restaurant, we waited 30 min for them to eve take our order, and they don't serve alcohol or beer. I only recommend Take-out, unless your Pakistani. They don't seem to serve people that don't speak the language very quickly and really favor their own people I'm guessing, but I'm not sure. One of our favorite Pakistani restaurants...the bread is homemade and we especially enjoy the beef keema and beef nihari. The service is very nice and good people. Ambiance is great. Buffet food quality and options was poor, no Eid special - dry naans, soggy & oily Pooris, no mutton dish, no BBQ / tandoori items, no Paya meat - just watery soup, poor looking butter chicken (taste ok), OK nihari, and half cut Gulab Jamun for dessert. $100 for four. I have never visited the restaurant, but I have ordered food from them,,via Uber Eats, many times. It is a bit on the pricier side, but so tasty, so I keep coming back. Last night, due to a miscommunication on the Uber Eats app, one dish was not included in my delivery: the "Beef Bihari Paratha Roll". As you can imagine, I was pretty put out that my husbands meal (the excellent & spicy beef kabob) had arrived, but I was left with nothing to eat. When I called the restaurant directly, the man who answered (likely either the owner or manager) was kind and apologetic. He explained that they were out of the roll I had ordered, but offered to quickly prepare a substitution and send one of his employees out to deliver it to me. Within 25 minutes I had dinner and a free extra entree of chicken and rice. I was blown away by the excellent service. My favorite dishes: Veggie Samosas: so tasty and they come with a delicious topping of chickpeas Beef Bihari: I cannot get enough of this dish. The blend of spices is amazing! Neither of us are Pakistani. This should not matter, but it seemed to at this restaurant. After we were seated an older man stood within 10 feet behind us the entire time, watching us. It made our meal extremely uncomfortable. When he begrudgingly took our order he automatically assumed we would want tiki masala before even asking what we wanted. Our drinks were not refilled. He did not check on us. We never received a ticket or instructions on how to pay.
