Falafel, Chicken Shawarma Arabi, Loaded fries with beef shawarma
Mays J.

Flavor, Freshness & Full-On Satisfaction at Abu Omar Halal - Dallas Shawarma cravings? Fully. Satisfied. I've tried Abu Omar Halal in Orlando and now at two different Texas locations, including this one in Dallas--and the consistency is seriously impressive. No matter where I go, the flavor hits every single time. What We Ordered: * Arabic-Style Shawarma Wrap - Tender, juicy meat with just the right amount of seasoning. Wrapped tight and no soggy mess. * Falafel - Crispy, golden outside with a light, herby interior. Freshly made and full of flavor. * Loaded Fries with Beef Shawarma - A must-share (or not, no judgment). Crunchy fries loaded with shawarma, garlic sauce, and just enough kick. * Family Shawarma Plate with Fries - Big portions, great variety, and perfect for a hungry group. Note on Service Time: Was the service fast? Not exactly. But here's the thing--it's clearly made fresh to order, and you can taste the difference. Everything came out hot, seasoned well, and never felt rushed or reheated. Highlights: * Consistently great across multiple cities * Clean setup and friendly staff * Ideal for late-night bites, group meals, or serious shawarma lovers Bottom line: worth the wait. If you're in Dallas and looking for real-deal shawarma that delivers every time, Abu Omar Halal is it. I'll be back--and probably ordering extra garlic sauce next time.

I will give 2 reviews (Door Dash & in Restaurant) 9/10/2025 aroun d 7pm We ordered thru DoorDash. Falafel (4 pieces) Fried Kibbe (2 pieces) Lamb Gyro Arabi with the Shrak instead of tortilla When we received our order, it was still fairly warm/hot, still enjoyable. The french fries were soggy and a bit on the cooler side. We told ourselves that we would try it fresh in the restaurant sometimes soon. The lamb arabi was delicious, the shrak was a bit on the soggy side, but they are a bit of a drive from where we live. It did not stop us from enjoying it though. We did order a spicy garlic sauce (which was extra) and it was delicious. The falafel & kibbe were delicious (it does not come with the sauce, so we ordered on the side and paid the $1.25/$1.35, however we did not get one of our sauces). Was a bit disappointed, but I did not deduct from the rating, as that didn't deter from the food itself. The flavor explosion in my mouth from the herbs made this one of the best falafels we have had. I had never had the kibbe before this time and oh the ground filling inside was perfectly seasoned and yummy. 9/21/2025 Dined in the restaurant around 1130am We ordered the same as above and let me tell you so much fresher when eaten once it is hot! The kibbe was crispy on the outside and moist and delicious on the inside. The meat is seasoned perfectly. The falafel was just as good. We have had falafel before (at other restaurants) and this is by far the best we have had. We did ask for the spicy garlic, but we did not get it. We like a little heat, but it did not stop me from eating it with the regular garlic sauce. We had the lamb arabi and it was crisp and delicious. The french fries were perfectly salted and crispy and I thoroughly enjoyed it. We did not finish and took it home. Our 3 pups also enjoyed the french fries. We ordered the Dubai Chocolate which is made in house and it was good. The chocolate was kind of on the thin side (I like the chocolate a little thicker), but was still yummy. The young man manning the register and taking orders, was very nice and patient. We will definitely be back, probably in the next couple of days. For us it was that good! I highly recommend this place, the service and food is top notch. Thank you.

The menu is no frills. They don't have Arabic Salad or tabouli. I got the beef shawarma because I didn't want garlic sauce. It comes with tahini and pickles. The taste was ok. The meat wasn't old but it didn't taste super fresh. The flavor was good and the crispiness of the wrap. I was hungry so I devoured it. The hummus is a disappointment. I would never order it from here again. The portion size is decent but it just ..... isn't phenomenal. The kibbeh didn't look great. You can tell that it wasn't made the day I ordered it. There were some texture issues on the outside. But the taste of it was good. I enjoyed the kibbeh and would order it again. I waited.... 18 minutes for my food. I was starved. There was one family ahead of me. The wait time ...... makes me rethink coming here. The good thing was the shawarma was not greasy and had good flavor. The kibbeh had good flavor. The dining room was clean. The bathroom.... Was not. There is only one room for the bathroom so there is no separate ladies room and the urinal is right next to the toilet and it just felt weird. I really felt like I shouldn't have been using the bathroom in there. I'm 8 months pregnant so it was something I couldn't avoid .... As much as I want to support our local businesses, these things make it hard to write a good review. I don't know if anyone had checked the bathroom the entire night. I don't think I would go back again unless everything was closed since they're open late.

Love coming here. The flavor of the chicken and garlic sauce is off the hook. I like to get it with double chicken. I ate mine halfway through before I could snap a picture. This needs to spread toward west Dallas.

Food was hot and quick. Service was friendly with a smile. Restaurant appearance is cleaned and smells good. The bathroom amazed me by cleaned and no smell. Keep up the great work crew. My experience was amazing.

Review for the food truck off of Coit and Legacy in Plano... This is by far the best shawarma shop in the area if you like a crispy outside and soft inside. The bread is not your typical "Sara's Bakery" pita bread, but it's amazing. The sandwich is rolled so tight that you can quite literally eat this on the go, but I don't recommend it with the garlic sauce. My only gripe - the fries are trash. I'm not sure how to describe them, but they do lack flavor and are not very crispy. You're better off stopping at the McDonalds right next door to the truck. 5 stars for the shawarma though.

Food was okay, portions could be a bit more. Service is okay, they're mostly busy with online orders. Ambiance is nice, very quiet.

For as long as I can remember, my family and I have been visiting this Mediterranean institution on…read morePolk Street. Afrah is THE place to be for Mediterranean food - before Greenville Ave became Arab central, before there was anyone, there was Afrah. A beautiful, airy restaurant with gorgeous seating, a bustling dessert case, ice cream center and so many treats to offer under one roof. Afrah is to the Muslim community in Richardson as a glove is to a hand. It truly is a one stop shop for all your nostalgic cravings, and it would be a grave injustice on my part if I didn't stop by here and sing praise to one of the most loved Mediterranean restaurants in the DFW area. We visited here recently for an iftar buffet experience and were very very happy with the food we got. The buffet line was running smoothly, from staff working diligently to hand everyone a tray with napkins, plates and cutlery already set for you. Waiters were going around the massive dining hall clearing plates, making sure everyone had what they needed, seating patrons and asking if everything tasted good. This establishment runs like a literal well oiled machine and I am so impressed. The food was as always out of this world. Carefully prepared menu that satisfies everyone's taste buds. A good selection of classic cold appetizers like the baba ghanoush, hummus, and variety of salads. Always including something unique for a typical Middle Eastern flare. Hot lentil soup available with bowls carefully placed in the vicinity. So many different types of kebabs and freshly made hot pita bread being replaced like clockwork. The buffet had many of my favorite classics like Shawarma meat, beef kebab, chicken kebab. Lamb, chicken stew, baked chicken, everything was present in abundance. They even had salmon which I deeply appreciated as a seafood lover. My only complaint is the food wasn't hot enough which can be annoying with a buffet that is serving so many people during a busy time like Ramadan. Everything tasted absolutely phenomenal and when I returned for dessert, I was greeted with six different types of sweets from all over the world. That's the thing about this place. There's always something for everybody. The dining hall was bustling with not just Muslim patrons, but also a lot of American white patrons who equally enjoy the food here as much as we do. Inclusions of dishes like shrimp pasta, fried fish, chocolate mousse, and other fan favorites is a humble nod to non-Arab customers who love to frequent this place as much as we do. If you are looking for a quality Mediterranean experience look no further than this long-standing Mediterranean Haven. Thank you for nourishing the community.

There wasn't really any service to speak of since its buffet style. The ambiance was a pretty typical cafetera style restaurant. Overall, it was decent food, but I would not seek out to return here to eat. It was nice for a work event and very convenient. We were accommodated well.
