Entering the restaurant with kitchen and bar stools

Alzarrad is an inviting sort of restaurant with a homey atmosphere and local, street food style. The only drawback for my experience here was that the drinks are not refillable, but nothing to repugn a lurking diner seeking easy comestibles. The employees are amicable and procure toothsome victuals in a quick manner. I would add here that the chicken tenders are a tad arid, be that as it may, anyone (me) who orders chicken tenders from a shawarma joint probably should've seen it coming. Speak of the shawarma and here it comes. The beef is delectable, as is the chicken, and unlike many other restaurants of this twig, some of the wraps have cheese in them. (I'm not sure if it's jibneh or akkawi, but it's delicious).

Chicken shawarma meal, beef kebab entree and Egg dish

Stopped by here for lunch today. Great friendly service. Got food at the table in around 20-25 minutes as told while ordering Wife had the chicken shawarma meal, I tasted a bit and loved it as did the wife I got the beef kebab entre and egg add on Egg was delicious with the assorted veggies some of which are pickled, came with pita bread Beef kebab was great but had a gamy after taste, I feel like it was lamb meat perhaps (I have never had gamy tasting beef ever) The rice that came with the kebab was mouthwateringly delicious - tasted just like Calcutta/awadhi style biryani rice Would love to come back and try out rest of the menu and the desserts

We've driven past this restaurant so many times and kept forgetting to stop by. Finally, we got the chance to dine in, and wow, what an experience! The inside is immaculate and beautifully clean. When we walked in, it was a peaceful haven with very little foot traffic. We ordered beef shawarma, chicken shawarma, hummus, baba ganoush, and some bread. My husband loved the beef shawarma so much he wanted to return the next day! Every dish was bursting with freshness and flavor. This place deserves to be packed because the food is just too good to miss. We will definitely be coming back again and again!

Fattoush salad w/chicken shawarma, Baba Ghahoush side, and pita bread

Friendly, family owned restaurant. Great service, always smiling and greeting everyone that steps inside. Restaurant is clean. Food is fresh and full of flavors. I love their fattoush salad and always ask them to top off with chicken shawarma. We usually order the falafel appetizer or baba ghanoush on the side to share. Place order at the register and they serve you at your table when your meal is ready. Food comes out just the right temperature and in a to-go container. They bring the pita bread in a basket. I highly recommend giving this wonderful restaurant a try.

Chicken Shawarma Wrap

Love trying new and unique eateries where this one was Syrian restaurant. The young man in the front recommended a few dishes and gave great details on every option. I got the chicken sandwich plate and my friend got the beef one. My chicken sandwich was a bit heavy on the salt and sodium while my friend beef plate hit the spot. Price is high and overall nice restaurant to eat.

Hands down my favorite Mediterranean restaurant I've been to in DFW. Everything is always…read moreconsistently fresh and flavorful. The sauces are amazing - tzatziki, hummus, baba ghanoush, and more. I personally love the chicken cooked in a yogurt sauce, roasted cauliflower, and chickpea moussaka as my top standouts, but truly there are too many delicious things to name. I love how many chicken options there are as someone who isn't crazy about beef or pork. There is also falafel and plenty of beans for your vegan/ vegetarian friends. There were markers for allergies / preferences on the labels, but I didn't attend too closely as I don't have dietary restrictions. They have tasty rice pudding topped with pistachios and fresh fruit as something sweet to pair with your meal. I enjoy the lentil soup for dipping pita bread in. All you can eat buffets are always the best for getting to try everything and making everyone in your party happy. It's a bit on the expensive side (around $25 per person before tip), but it's totally worth it for special occasions. Within the last year they've redone the seating inside, but the food quality has stood the test of time!

I've seen the price go from: $15, $18, $20, to $25... TAX AND CARD FEES HAVE AWLAYS BEEN INCLUDED. Well, today.... The young man told me it was $25 plus tax. So he said it was over $84 for three people. I complained a little to him about it and went on, THEN my wife heard the lady next to my male cashier charge someone the $25 flat with no tax!!!! I of course went and asked her WHY???? She said because the other guy paid with cash.... There is not tax!!!! I said you mean a credit card fee right?? She said NO.... If you pay cash there is no tax!!!!! I'd like the Great State of Texas to look into this one. I bet the comptroller would like to know about this!!! TBH, I really don't think the other guy probably even paid cash. It felt like a hate on whitey move to me. THIS PLACE IS SHADY.

For as long as I can remember, my family and I have been visiting this Mediterranean institution on…read morePolk Street. Afrah is THE place to be for Mediterranean food - before Greenville Ave became Arab central, before there was anyone, there was Afrah. A beautiful, airy restaurant with gorgeous seating, a bustling dessert case, ice cream center and so many treats to offer under one roof. Afrah is to the Muslim community in Richardson as a glove is to a hand. It truly is a one stop shop for all your nostalgic cravings, and it would be a grave injustice on my part if I didn't stop by here and sing praise to one of the most loved Mediterranean restaurants in the DFW area. We visited here recently for an iftar buffet experience and were very very happy with the food we got. The buffet line was running smoothly, from staff working diligently to hand everyone a tray with napkins, plates and cutlery already set for you. Waiters were going around the massive dining hall clearing plates, making sure everyone had what they needed, seating patrons and asking if everything tasted good. This establishment runs like a literal well oiled machine and I am so impressed. The food was as always out of this world. Carefully prepared menu that satisfies everyone's taste buds. A good selection of classic cold appetizers like the baba ghanoush, hummus, and variety of salads. Always including something unique for a typical Middle Eastern flare. Hot lentil soup available with bowls carefully placed in the vicinity. So many different types of kebabs and freshly made hot pita bread being replaced like clockwork. The buffet had many of my favorite classics like Shawarma meat, beef kebab, chicken kebab. Lamb, chicken stew, baked chicken, everything was present in abundance. They even had salmon which I deeply appreciated as a seafood lover. My only complaint is the food wasn't hot enough which can be annoying with a buffet that is serving so many people during a busy time like Ramadan. Everything tasted absolutely phenomenal and when I returned for dessert, I was greeted with six different types of sweets from all over the world. That's the thing about this place. There's always something for everybody. The dining hall was bustling with not just Muslim patrons, but also a lot of American white patrons who equally enjoy the food here as much as we do. Inclusions of dishes like shrimp pasta, fried fish, chocolate mousse, and other fan favorites is a humble nod to non-Arab customers who love to frequent this place as much as we do. If you are looking for a quality Mediterranean experience look no further than this long-standing Mediterranean Haven. Thank you for nourishing the community.

We have tried their kabob one time and it was okay but nothing special. They don't have regular tap water and you have to buy bottled water which is fine with me. What I don't like is when asked for shatta/hot sauce, a small container will be brought in, and then they will you charge you for that without telling you about the extra charge first. Almost all mediterranean restaurant never charge for any shatta, in my experience, but this restaurant does! On top of that, extra charge for shatta is not mentioned in the menu or anywhere or verbally said by the server. Not sure how hard is it for the restaurant to be transparent with the pricing with the diners. Their Richardson location website also doesn't work and I am not sure why it is then advertised on Google. The other thing I don't like is that they now have new items on the menu like rotisserie chicken and other items. It is not mentioned by the server and also not listed in their restaurant menu. How would the customer know about these new items? They also do catering and have varitey of different items only available through catering. Again, how would customer know about their catering service and about those items only available through catering? Not sure what the thinking process is, but they surely are losing interested and potential new customers to other bunch of similar restaurants in the area! They have to improve their communications if they want to survive and thrive.

I had some experience but also leaned on the staff for guidance. I would say my top three personally were the: lamb kebabs, Iraqi Quizi and the Lehmajuhn(flatbread pizza) The Quizi might have been the best part of the meal and a whole party in my mouth. I'm also a sucker for good hummus & baba ganoush and I was just about ready to lick the bowl clean. I have only had Ezme at one other place, and this was definitely better. I always love baba ganoush and this was so good, especially with the warm bread. The family meal for 4 was plenty of food. All the meats, including the chicken items because a lot of time those are over cooked. The lamb tikka, and sheeh tawook were my favorites, but I did enjoy them all. The desserts were a miss for us over all. The ice cream was on the icy side and not as creamy, kunafa was ok but I've had better. The baklava was like any baklava you can get, so not bad. It is slightly pricey but worth it in my opinion. Nice place that can accommodate larger parties, but also has some booths for intimate date night. The meat is also halal so a great option for anyone that needs that.
