I enjoyed the atmosphere for the Mediterranean restaurant. The service was fast and attentive. The food was tasty, with new flavors of style to me as it is Turkish.

I've ordered from Ephesus Bistro & Grill in Rowlett before for a catered party, but never had the chance to actually dine in, until a couple of weeks ago. After a long day, we were hit with a Mediterranean craving, and by around 8:30 PM, most places were either winding down or had already closed their kitchens. I called Ephesus just to be sure, and they confirmed they were open until 10 PM, with the kitchen running until 9:30. That alone earned points. When we arrived, we were the only ones there, which actually made for a really intimate, cozy setting. It had that small, family-run vibe that I always appreciate. The décor was on-theme, light blue tones, Mediterranean-style touches throughout--nothing over the top, but it worked. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive from start to finish. We ordered the Hummus, Babaganoush, Lahmacun, Chicken Adana Kebab, and Kofte Kebab. They brought out complimentary naan to go with the dips, which was a great touch. As for the food, it was exactly what I hoped for. Everything tasted fresh and flavorful. The Chicken Adana was just a little dry, but that's to be expected with ground chicken. Flavor-wise, no complaints. Portion sizes were fair, and for the quality, the pricing was more than reasonable. This spot has officially earned a spot on our regular rotation. If you're craving Mediterranean and don't want to drive far, Ephesus is a solid go-to.

I had an unfortunate experience, but their flavor profile is really good and I want them to succeed so I'm just writing this review as constructive criticism so that they are aware that this happened to me so that doesn't happen to others. I ordered the Caesar salad tonight and it was completely drenched in dressing to the point where it was like I was eating a bowl of soup. I actually like a lot of dressing and even this was a lot for me I mean the flavor of the salad was good, but the whole entire thing was absolutely dripping, wet like you were drinking a bottle of dressing. Great flavors on the shrimp and everything like that just someone definitely dumped an entire bottle of dressing in here.

First time trying Turkish food and this place didn't disappoint! Service was great and food was amazing. Portions were huge, great for sharing. Will definitely be coming back.

Takeout version, Mediterranean Salad, topped with grilled Chicken breast (additional charge) great quality!

12-23-2024 Holiday shoppers, and a lot of people in line at fast food places... Then I see charming dining room of Ephesus, three tables of smiling diners, one table doing a toast of wine. Happy! Okay, I can get takeout from Ephesus, but not the wine ha ha! The staff is warm & welcoming, and professional. I get the Greek Salad, it is big enough for 2, or 3 persons. All ingredients chopped fresh this day. It is old country style, no lettuce, all veggies cut bite-size, pieces of Feta are generous, and a Mediterranean dressing. I added grilled chicken breast, cooked & cut like kebab, and you get warm Pita cut into triangle pieces. Would have loved to dine-in, but I had to give somebody a ride home. Thank you Ephesus, Best Wishes for the Season.

One of the most authentic Turkish restaurants in DFW I've been to! Such a gem, Rowlett is lucky to have. Service is great, and food is brought out so fast/efficiently and fresh! Bathrooms clean. I've been watching Hell's Kitchen a ton lately, and this place should be an example on how to run a restaurant! First off you get complimentary fresh baked bread with a side of cacik (Turkish tzatziki essentially). There's sesame seeds on the bread which I loved. We tried the pide (cheesy bread/flatbread) with Turkish sausage! Was super good. Then my husband and I shared the Chef's special beef sauté. He loved it so much he said it was his top 5 best dishes of his life haha. It reminded us of Korean galbi Jim with the cheese on top! Loved the eggplant in it as well. Everything came out piping hot! For dessert I got my favorite Turkish dessert, kazandibi! It's like a burnt crust milk pudding/flan. Nothing else quite like it. So tasty and hard to find, as not a lot of places make it! Overall great experience, and we will be back to try all the other cool dishes! Every time something came out we were like oooh we need to try that next haha

Whether you're planning a cozy date night, a relaxed family dinner, or just need a new go-to spot for lunch or dinner, this place delivers every single time. Everything is fresh, bursting with flavor, and made with care. Hands down the most delicious restaurant... it's my absolute favorite!

Love love love a good Mediterranean lunch!!! I discovered Ephesus on Yelp and after seeing SO many five stars, I knew I had to pay them a visit. Okay, this restaurant is gorgeous in the middle of a grocery shopping center in Rowlett. The starters are an absolute YES. We ordered the fried feta rolls (first time trying anything like that), the hummus, and the falafel. Wowzers I want it again. The feta rolls came with light simple salad and even that was delectable! I would order these appetizers as full course meals it's that good. The pita was chef's kiss hot and fresh, pairing the hummus perfectly. The falafel was delicious as well. Will order all three again. I then ordered the "chicken shish" kabob plate that came with rice embedded with chick peas and a side of roasted veggies. The chicken was a little dry BUT it was everything I was craving and more. We couldn't finish our plates because we were so stuffed from the appetizer goodies. I have no regrets and the leftovers today were just as good. I honestly don't think I realized how tasty the rice was until today! Can't wait to go back. You've got a regular, Ephesus.

This is the lamb special. The yogurt base compliments the lamb and grilled tomato/peppers superbly.

My goodness. Authentic Turkish cuisine. I say cuisine not food on purpose. They can help new comers dial in what fits their palate. Do not be afraid to ask for help. Family owned and operated (I love these places), and an exceptional dining experience. Take out is very good, stick to kebab, tabouleh, falafel. Dining in is what I would promote. The home baked bread and the specialty dishes come in hot crockery plates. Insanely delicious.

Went here a few months ago with one of my friends - she ordered the Chicken Shish Kebab and I ordered the Pan Seared Salmon. My friend enjoyed the dish she ordered and said that the portion size was good & that it didn't feel too heavy. She also mentioned that on the menu, it said the chicken breast cubes would come on a skewer, but it didn't come that way. She preferred this and said it was easier to eat since it was not on a skewer. The pan seared salmon was decent, but I probably wouldn't get it again. It tasted a bit bland and I would have definitely enjoyed it more if it had more flavor to it. It was a filling meal though. All dishes are served with pilaf and a side salad. Once you're seated, they bring you fresh, warm pita bread and I thought it tasted great!

Afrah is THE place to be for Mediterranean food - before Greenville Ave became Arab central, before there was anyone, there was Afrah. A beautiful, airy restaurant with gorgeous seating, a bustling dessert case, ice cream center and so many treats to offer under one roof. Afrah is to the Muslim community in Richardson as a glove is to a hand. It truly is a one stop shop for all your nostalgic cravings, and it would be a grave injustice on my part if I didn't stop by here and sing praise to one of the most loved Mediterranean restaurants in the DFW area. We visited here recently for an iftar buffet experience and were very very happy with the food we got. The buffet line was running smoothly, from staff working diligently to hand everyone a tray with napkins, plates and cutlery already set for you. Waiters were going around the massive dining hall clearing plates, making sure everyone had what they needed, seating patrons and asking if everything tasted good. This establishment runs like a literal well oiled machine and I am so impressed. The food was as always out of this world. Carefully prepared menu that satisfies everyone's taste buds. A good selection of classic cold appetizers like the baba ghanoush, hummus, and variety of salads. Always including something unique for a typical Middle Eastern flare. Hot lentil soup available with bowls carefully placed in the vicinity. So many different types of kebabs and freshly made hot pita bread being replaced like clockwork. The buffet had many of my favorite classics like Shawarma meat, beef kebab, chicken kebab. Lamb, chicken stew, baked chicken, everything was present in abundance. They even had salmon which I deeply appreciated as a seafood lover. My only complaint is the food wasn't hot enough which can be annoying with a buffet that is serving so many people during a busy time like Ramadan. Everything tasted absolutely phenomenal and when I returned for dessert, I was greeted with six different types of sweets from all over the world. That's the thing about this place. There's always something for everybody. The dining hall was bustling with not just Muslim patrons, but also a lot of American white patrons who equally enjoy the food here as much as we do. Inclusions of dishes like shrimp pasta, fried fish, chocolate mousse, and other fan favorites is a humble nod to non-Arab customers who love to frequent this place as much as we do. If you are looking for a quality Mediterranean experience look no further than this long-standing Mediterranean Haven. Thank you for nourishing the community.

There wasn't really any service to speak of since its buffet style. The ambiance was a pretty typical cafetera style restaurant.
