Chicken With Over-rice Platter Rice Lettuce And Chicken On The Top
    Trang C.

This is one of the best halal food platters in Dallas! This place is very cheap as well. I got a chicken platter and fries on the side. The chicken platter's sauce was perfect. It balanced everything so well. The rice was cooked very nicely, and overall it just meshed well. The fries were very crispy as well. The shop has a bunch of small tables. I would definitely go again, and I give the platter a 10/10!

Akmen was very polite and helpful. A lot of seating. Food was reasonably priced and large portions. Unfortunately there was a long hair in the falafel sandwich (was strange because there was no women in the kitchen). The hummus was very good. Had a green pepper mixture on top that I loved but if you don't like spicy I would ask to remove it. Chicken swarma was mediocre. Mix plate was also just okay. Kabobs were dry.

One of the Best Halal Mediterranean joints in all of America bar none. My personal in Dallas, the food is of excellent quality and unlike many spots, the meat here is succulent and moist. I've rarely been able to find that elsewhere. Service with a smile and always happy to take orders by phone. Plenty of seating in side and outside of the restaurant. Always clean and lively with many customers and students. When I do live Texas if not the US for good, I'm really going to miss this spot.

This place was absolutely delicious. The food was so good and flavorful. This is the best lowkey and underground spot for good gyro foods. The staff were super chill and the place was quick and clean. Really amazing experience and this is going to be my go-to spot

Small little hole in the wall with the most authentic tasting shawarma's I've had the DFW area! Juicy, meaty, and bursting with flavor! 10 outta 10 would recommend! Can't wait to come back here!

I got the chicken shawarma here with a side of falafels. The falafel stole the show because it was the crispiest, most flavorful falafel I had ever had. I wish I had just ordered 50 of them instead. The Chicken Shawarma had so much chicken and was well made. Everything was well balanced. The staff were nice and friendly. It seemed like it was just two people on the Sunday I went. The place is a bit small, but they have a second area to sit. The Gyro over rice was good as well.

The food is absolutely delicious--true New York-style halal, just like I used to have back in NYC. It hits all the right notes. Honestly, part of me doesn't even want to write this review... I don't want them to raise the prices once everyone finds out. :)

Pretty good halal food for a pretty good price! The place is small inside so can get crowded when there's people hanging and eating but will definitely be back here again!

Great halal spot open late!! Make sure you get extra sauce! They have baklava at the counter and it's some of the best I've ever had!

I ordered the chicken bowl. It had rice, chicken, tomato, red onion, lettuce and of course the 3 sauces. It was delish. Definitely will be back since it is up the street. Very tasty and fulfilling. The service was quick and the inside seemed small. I didn't go to the seating area as I ordered it online.

The most delicious food ever! I still think about the shawarma I had here. I was visiting from out of state and asked a friend to take me here because they said Moroccan food was bomb. The place is small and unassuming. We were able to get a seat at the table and at some point a family came in and asked to move the other table outside to eat. I ordered a chicken shawarma and hesitated on what bread to get it in but the person taking my order recommended the regular pocket. The shawarma looked really simple, but it was so flavorful and perfect! The pocket was a great choice because it was thin and grilled... yummm. My friend had a falafel shawarma in a baguette and they enjoyed it but said they should have gotten it in a pocket.

I rarely leave reviews , in fact, this may be my first one, but this experience was so negative…read morethat I feel compelled to share it. I ordered two sandwiches through the DoorDash app for pickup. The app clearly stated that the sandwiches came with chips and potato salad, which is why I chose that option instead of ordering a different special. When I arrived at the restaurant, I still had to wait in line before reaching the cashier. When I finally got to the counter, she handed me my sandwiches and then told me that I had ordered chips and potato salad but had not paid for them. I calmly explained that the app showed those items as included with the sandwich. Instead of resolving the situation professionally, she told me she needed to call the owner. She then had me step aside while she helped three other customers, leaving me waiting awkwardly off to the side. When the owner finally called her back, she spoke to him loudly (almost argumentatively) about me being there and "claiming" the sandwiches came with chips and potato salad. It was embarrassing because other customers could clearly hear what was happening. Ultimately, I was told the owner said the sandwiches did not come with those sides. At that point, I just took my sandwiches and left. The entire situation felt uncomfortable and unnecessary. If there was a mix-up with the app, that isn't the customer's fault. Good customer service would have been to honor what was displayed in the app and clarify the issue internally afterward. Instead, I left feeling frustrated and embarrassed. Unfortunately, this was one of the worst restaurant experiences I've had.

And that salsa verde on top? So good. Both the chilaquiles and the blueberry Earl Grey scone were my favorites. The scone was especially nice and moist with a unique flavor combo. I also liked the churro cruffin, and the birria brisket croque madame was delish and satisfying. Two of us ordered the Sweet Potato Latte and one got the Turkish latte, all half sweet (we generally prefer less sweetness than most), and all three of us really liked ours. Service was also great -- even though it was packed, our server was attentive and friendly. Great spot if you want something a little different for brunch or a bakery stop. Definitely worth checking out.

The waiting area was really nice and spacious. We got to try the Love Potion Latte (limited time), the Croissant Monkey Bread ($4.75), and the Birria Brisket Croque Madame ($19). The Love Potion Latte was okay, it's made of chocolate mocha, espresso, milk, and dried strawberry chunks. The Croissant Monkey Bread was delicious. The dough pulled apart so well and the cinnamon sugar on top added a nice touch to it. They toasted your bread too so it was warm and moist. The Birria Brisket Croque Madame was the best! It is a huge portion and we cut it in halves already, but it filled us up! The sourdough was still crispy, well-toasted, and it absorbed the juices from the birria so well. We went for a light breakfast but came out so full and stuffed. The prices are a bit expensive but it was reasonable for the quality and portion size. They are sooo packed though with customers coming in and out at all time. I would definitely make reservations next time!

It truly feels like you've stepped into a legit Italian market. It's packed--in a good way--but be prepared to rub elbows while you shop. I had the Italian beef, which was delicious--but definitely spicy. I even asked for light peppers and it still brought some heat. So fair warning: if you're sensitive to spice, you might want to pivot to something else. My wife has been missing New Orleans, so she went with the muffaletta. Let's just say it was a much cheaper solution than flying her to the Big Easy. No gumbo on the menu, but the sandwich hit the spot. After we ate, we did a little shopping and grabbed some fresh Italian ingredients imported straight from Italy--which is always a win in my book. Great food, great vibe, and a true Dallas institution. We'll definitely be back.

This place absolutely ranks near the top, and honestly brings more to the table than I expected. The Cuban itself is fantastic. Perfectly pressed, packed with flavor, and everything you want when that craving hits. But what really sets it apart is the vinegar dip it comes with. I was not prepared for how good that would be. It completely elevates the sandwich and had me going back for one more dip every single bite. And then there are the plantain strips. Freshly fried, hot, crisp, and just on another level. I do not think I have ever had plantain chips like this before. Usually it is the bagged kind, which are fine, but these are something else entirely. Honestly, they are worth the trip all on their own. Do not even think about leaving without trying the pastries. I happened to get a warm cream cheese one that I cannot stop thinking about. It was one of those bites where you immediately regret not ordering more. To top it all off, the woman running the place is as kind as can be and genuinely helps guide you through the menu like you are a regular, even on your first visit. I will absolutely be back, especially because I need to try their Cuban take on a burger. If it is anything like the rest of the menu, I already know it is going to be incredible.
