It had been quite some time since I was last here. The City of Richardson has done a lot of development in the area and are trying to get people to come "downtown " more frequently. No surprise that parking is more challenging now since there are quite a few businesses, but not a lot of space to maneuver or park. In fact, I almost got in an accident coming here! The Madina Halal Grill has expanded from a small hole in the wall, to two holes. LOL! It looks like the took over the area next door and connected them with a small doorway. What is great about this is that the initial room is great for placing your order, looking at the menu, chatting with the staff, paying, and waiting around for your food to come out. The next room over is great for finding a seat, relaxing, and eating without being jostled by people coming and going. Food was pretty good. I forgot to specify the bread wrap, so my sandwich was more like panini than a shawarma. My husband was less than enthralled. He wasn't a fan of the lamb mix, but that is to be expected as he didn't grow up with it and hasn't learned to acquire a taste for it. Staff are really friendly here. We have plenty of everything on their menu around DFW, and if it weren't for their late hours I wouldn't even consider them a legitimate option. What was once an institution in the rapidly growing Richardson food scene has become a shadow of its former self. The only place I can give them credit is their service where the owners are on-site and trying to appease the diverse crowd even late at night. Props to them for trying. As for the food, it's ranks amongst the worst shawarma, burger and zinger I've had in town. Whether seasoning was an afterthough just like my patty clearly was on the grill, a good meal it does not make. Not for me. Unless you're being roped into a halal option and it's far too late to get anywhere else, I don't see a reason to visit this spot. read more

This is one of the best halal food platters in Dallas! This place is very cheap as well. I got a chicken platter and fries on the side. The chicken platter's sauce was perfect. It balanced everything so well. The rice was cooked very nicely, and overall it just meshed well. The fries were very crispy as well. The shop has a bunch of small tables. Unfortunately there was a long hair in the falafel sandwich (was strange because there was no women in the kitchen). The hummus was very good. This is a tiny place but they do have some indoor and outdoor seating! I was there for lunch today and had the falafel sandwich combo - which came with fries and a drink. Great quality food and at a really good price point! I loved that the fries were seasoned and they also provided a side of sauce and pickled vegetables. The falafel sandwich was wrapped really tightly but still pretty full- it wasn't making a mess everywhere which was a huge plus. I got the chicken shawarma here with a side of falafels. The falafel stole the show because it was the crispiest, most flavorful falafel I had ever had. I wish I had just ordered 50 of them instead. The Chicken Shawarma had so much chicken and was well made. Everything was well balanced. The staff were nice and friendly. It seemed like it was just two people on the Sunday I went. One of the Best Halal Mediterranean joints in all of America bar none. My personal in Dallas, the food is of excellent quality and unlike many spots, the meat here is succulent and moist. I've rarely been able to find that elsewhere. Service with a smile and always happy to take orders by phone. Plenty of seating in side and outside of the restaurant. Friendly service in this non-descript place. It's tiny but the food sure is good! Had the chicken burger which is not your typical chicken burger and it was very good. The chicken (trampo style) is cut off the rotisserie. It was very well seasoned and I ate every bite. Got some hummus to go and was surprised to find it spicy but delicious. The most delicious food ever! I still think about the shawarma I had here. I was visiting from out of state and asked a friend to take me here because they said Moroccan food was bomb. The place is small and unassuming. We were able to get a seat at the table and at some point a family came in and asked to move the other table outside to eat. I ordered a chicken shawarma and hesitated on what bread to get it in but the person taking my order recommended the regular pocket. He talked us through his lengthy process in making hummus. He also let us sample his extra hot and spicy sauce with our lunch. The personality and pride showed itself in every bite. I visit here all the time after my late night studying routine up at UTD, and everytime I walk through the door, whether it'd be at 12:00 PM or 12:00 AM, I'm always greeted with a smile. The food here is delicious, I always order the Chicken Shawarma combo, every piece of the plate compliments the other. There's pickled cauliflour, pepper, and carrots, fried crinkle fries, and a huge serving of chicken shawarma sliced into convenient hand-held pieces + garlic sauce which is the best thing to ever couple with this dish. This restaurant has become my comfort food, and I will always suggest this place to my friends and loved ones. My best friend became obsessed after I suggested Madina. You absolutely cannot go wrong with this place. Mango Smoothie: 8/10 Excellent and smooth texture with reasonable price.
