We tried the halal Hyderabadi food, and it was fabulous! The mutton biryani was very tasty. We felt it could have had a little more masala, but it was still delicious and had the authentic dum biryani style. We also tried the butter chicken, which was good, and the Dum Ka Chicken, which we really enjoyed. The customer service was friendly, and the seating and décor created a nice, comfortable atmosphere. Commendations Service was sufficient; they are responsive, and they had a good attitude. I enjoyed the atmosphere--nothing to complain about. Grievances My family was not told the food was spicy. We also found a lot of bones in our food, and it made it hard to enjoy our meal. The to-go boxes are hard to close once opened, which is pretty inconvenient. Overall I will not be coming back here, but I'm sure this restaurant may be preferred by others; we were just not accustomed to authentic Indian food, which is most likely why the food took us by surprise. read more

The sister location to one of the most famous Hyderabadi restaurants in Chicago, they came down swinging with a massive kitchen of highly trained chefs and a beautiful interior which highlights their upscale dining background, a welcome addition to the DFW Halal scene. Ordering here is easy and I highly recommend pulling them up on Google and ordering over the phone. They're responsive, it's easy to let them know how you like the food and I hear prices are noticeably cheaper as well. For dining in, expect classic table service. As for food, I see a lot of y'all mentioning the lack of rice or naan with an entree but that's nothing new. Higher end South Asian restaurants mostly stopped over that close to a decade ago and as someone who orders in the typical family style, it's a welcome addition alongside the very reasonable portions for the price. The only thing I personally would critique is their kebabs which tend to appeal to a less melanated crowd. So for all the way they've traveled, I would say the journey was worth it. With a great location just across from the hospital and improvements every time I go, I think it's time y'all added this one to the list! read more

This halal Indian spot opened up recently so decided to try it when family came into town. I'm glad to say that all of the food was phenomenal and fresh. We got the goat biryani, Chapli kabob, butter chicken, chicken 65, chicken kabob, and Kadai chicken. The goat biryani was very good and the meat was very tender. The chapli kabob was a bit on the thinner side but with a little lime, the flavor was there. The butter chicken was a sweeter butter chicken but I loved it. The chicken 65 is always a hit and perfectly saucey. The chicken kabob was good as well but not the best I've ever had. And finally the kadai chicken was absolutely amazing and probably my favorite. If I were to recommend too 3 dishes it would be the goat biryani, butter chicken, and kadai chicken. You have to get the garlic or butter naan with the curries because they are made fresh to order. The only downside I would say is that the staff could have been a bit friendlier but the food definitely made up for it. I happy to say that I enjoyed this spot more than I anticipated but will definitely be back! read more

I highly recommend coming to this place--especially for the Chicken Boti Roll on Naan Bread. It's my go-to dish every time and it never disappoints! The flavors are incredible, and the naan is always fresh and perfectly made. The biryani rice is another must-try--full of flavor and cooked to perfection. I'm always on the hunt for Indian takeout and this place caught my eye. Here is my honest review as I lay out the pros and cons. Pros: excellent portion sizes. The biriyani order alone can make 3-4 servings. The curries are also served in large containers which is larger than most takeout Indian food places give out. You really can't beat the portion sizes for the price at this place. The spice level is perfect which I need to mention because there was no option to select the spice level. This where I transition into The Cons: there was no phone number listed on their website or online map for this location so I was forced to order through a third party app in which prices are inflated. Their menu price listed on their pdf on the website said $20 for a goat biriyani however I was only able to place the order through DoorDash in which the price listed was $24. Another con was, the curries did NOT include rice. Maybe they justified not giving rice by increasing the portion size but rice or naan NEED to be given to accompany the curries. The chicken tikka masala was too tomato forward. Tomato flavor dominated the dish and nothing else in the tikka masala dish had an opportunity to shine. Ultimately I liked the biriyani and palak paneer but I was bummed to be forced to pay inflated DoorDash menu prices and not receive any rice for the curries. read more

Found a great local spot!! Portions are big but the rice is a separate charge. Typically in most Indian restaurants, rice comes with your meal & an order of simple rice was $8.00. Will we go back, yes. Was the food good, yes. Now our bill was $78.48 which included: 2 orders of garlic naan ($5 ea order of 3-4 pieces), 1 butter chicken, 1 chicken tikka masala, 1 chicken biryani, 1 order of rice (which again we thought came with our orders) & 3 sodas @ 2.50 ea. Now will get sodas next time, nope. I do think though the portion sizes do make up for the rice issue lol. Service was good, the atmosphere was nice, the decor was nice, bathrooms were clean (smelled good too) & it wasn't crowded. Our food came out in a timely manner too. read more

Food is delicious and taste like grandma cooking. We have tried chicken biryani, samosas, butter chicken, butter naan, garlic naan and it was all superb in taste. Packaging was great too, portion size is good for a family of 3 if they are reasonably hungry.. 4 if they are not too hungry. I would recommend this place for everyone to enjoy. read more

Visited Shaahi twice within the space of 2 weeks - right before and after our overseas trip. Loved it so much that we had to come back for the second time. First visit was goat biryani with grilled tilapia. Both biryani and the fish were cooked to perfection, not oily but just enough moist to get the flavors bursting out in your mouth. Second visit was chicken biryani and fried Apollo fish. My concern was that the fish would be over fried. Although the fish was fried in batter, the fish itself was juicy and retained the moistness of the fish as if it was just freshly caught. The batter wasn't even overly fried. Just a short dip in the fryer. Chicken biryani did not disappoint. Was so flavorful. Both visits brought tears to my eyes as I've not had such wonderful Hyderabad biryani in my life. We cannot thank Shoeb enough from Haraz coffee who recommended we try Shaahi. We will certainly visit Shaahi again if we're so fortunate to return to Dallas again. Kudos to the chef and the staff who made us feel so welcomed! read more
