The best fried chicken in Dallas. The 3-piece dark is my favorite, always fried perfectly. Their sides are all fresh and delicious. The mashed potatoes, green beans and mac & cheese are my favorite. They also have a great selection of sauces. The staff is friendly and efficient. Can't recommend enough!

It's good chicken, man. The kind of good chicken that makes you stop mid-bite and nod silently at nobody. I kept wondering who Mike was, so I looked it up--turns out Mike's Chicken is Vietnamese-owned, which somehow made me trust the operation even more. Fair warning: when you go, be ready to wait about 20 minutes--or order ahead like someone who values their time. They cook everything to order. I was like, what? In this fast-food age of heat lamps and broken dreams? But the wait is worth it. The chicken comes out fresh and hot as fuck. Crispy, juicy, and clearly made by people who respect the craft. This isn't grab-and-go chicken. This is sit down, shut up, and appreciate chicken.
This place is great! Friends introduced me to this place and now it's definitely on my top places for fried chicken. The chicken was nice and juicy and flavorful along with all the sides. Service was great too, super nice and kind and helpful. Located in a pretty good area as well. Inside has plenty of seating, which makes it a great spot to go with family or friends.
Oh my goodness! The takeout wait is so worth! If you can, order in advance else it will take 20 minutes. Everything was hot when we brought it home. I ordered the 3 piece tenders and one of the sauces you can select is homemade GRAVY! However, the gravy was okay paired with Tendors but it was amazing with the Biscuits! My husband ordered the 2 piece dark meat (thigh & leg). After the first bite he said it was exactly how his Mom cooked their fried chicken when he was young ... Juicy and crispy. After eating Mike's Chicken, forget all the other places.
The best fried chicken in DFW honestly. I've never had a bad food experience here. Everything is made fresh so the order will take around 10-15min if there isn't a rush.
Did not expect this place to be so insanely busy outside of "peak" meal hours, but I soon validated the hype. I kept it simple and got some tenders, and it took probably 20-ish minutes for the food to be ready for pickup at the counter. It took far fewer than 20-ish minutes for me to delete everything on the plate, both because I was starving and it was tasty. The place inside can get a bit chaotic when busy; but there are generally enough tables to handle their turnover speed. Parking can be tricky and they have signs informing customers that neighboring businesses will tow, so just be mindful of that. We found a spot behind the building.
I have tried this place out 3 times at this point. I do like the battered crust on the chicken. The chicken is juicy. All ingredients are fresh. The chicken could use more seasoning. Fries are soft on inside and crunchy outside. The Mac and cheese was ok.... Could have more flavor. The cookie stole the show. Excellent!! It was filled with Reese's , moist, good size, gooey and yummy. I would probably go back. It is not most favorite style of chicken but it is worth trying and it is enjoyable. Chicken: 8/10 Mac an cheese: 6/10 Fries: 9/10 Reese's cookie: 10/10

Overall, it was tasty, hot, fresh. Loved the chicken and biscuit. Sides were ok. Like that this meal came with two dipping sauces. I can understand the hype.
So, have been to the one on Maple several times, but it's a far drive so haven't been there in a couple years. However, I sometimes have to be in north Dallas for business, and this one on Forest is close enough to justify the side trip. I can still say that Mike's has the best damn chicken in DFW. I agree that the sides can be a little underwhelming, and nowadays I usually just grab a couple spicy breasts (yea baby) and sometimes an order of fries (nothing fancy, still good) and forget the plates. But honestly, this is one of those places that you come for the main attraction and if you're counting anything else, well, that's just not right. Yes, you can wait 15 minutes or more when you order at the counter. I've finally come to the point where when my work is done, I borrow someone's computer and order it online, and it's usually ready by the time I get there. This is the way to do it. It's so hot when I pick it up, by the time I get back to my main hub 20-30 minutes later, it's the perfect temp to eat. Don't listen to any Elite types who bad mouth any of the locations. I've never had anything but perfect chicken here. Try it for yourself.

The fried chicken combo comes with your choice of two sides, a biscuit, and sauce. The fried chicken itself was insane - perfectly fried, seasoned with spice, and super juicy. Probably some of the best fried chicken I've had. The sides were quite delicious too - the creamy corn is a must get and a perfect compliment to the chicken. The mac n cheese was good too, but not the best I've had. The biscuit was a bit dry, but still decent. For the price, this is such a good deal. The cashiers are really nice and the restaurant is pretty clean - free water with lemon is offered as well. Overall, I would 100% recommend this place if you enjoy fried chicken.
Came here on a Friday night and put our orders in right before the rush came. Everything is made to order, so once you place your order you have about a 15 minute wait. Staff is kind and informative. THE FOOD WAS FINGERLICKIN GOOD!!!
Stopped by to pick up chicken dinner. 2 pieces crispy chicken with mash potatoes & corn. Not one bad bite.
Back in Dallas and I had to immediately make a stop at Mike's Chicken. Consistently good every time. The buffalo sauce is tangy with the perfect kick of spice, and the gravy is just country gravy, but somehow SO good with the fries. The sweet tea was a little less sweet than I remember from my last visit, but nevertheless, still good. Highly recommend! read more

Yelp 100 Challenge - #22 This is my second visit to this location and I have been impressed both times. Food is made to order so visit with enough time to wait for your food and enjoy your food. Both times they have been busy but food is fast and people are in an out. You can also place your order online to avoid waiting. The wait is roughly 20 - 30 minutes for bone in chicken and less for tenders. I often order the chicken with two slides and an extra biscuit to enjoy later. Sides range from fries, green beans, baked beans, to mac and cheese. Parking is limited so depending on the time of your visit, you may have to park in the back or near and walk over. Best chicken tenders in Dallas--hands down. I know chicken tenders aren't usually the true test of a fried chicken joint, but these blew me away. I ordered the 4-piece tender, and to my surprise, found a 5th in the box when I got home--an unexpected bonus I was very glad to have. The chicken was perfectly crispy with a well-seasoned coating, while the inside stayed juicy and tender. Each bite had that ideal breading-to-meat ratio. The biscuit was excellent--fluffy, buttery, and with just a hint of sweetness. For sides, I had the green beans and mashed potatoes, both of which hit the spot. If you're craving fried chicken, I can't recommend Mike's Chicken enough. read more
This was my first time coming to Mike's Chicken, and it's seriously so good! I came on a Wednesday around 5:45pm, and the place was nearly full, clearly a local favorite. I ordered the 3 piece chicken tenders meal, which comes with 2 sides, 2 sauces, and a biscuit. For my sides, I opted for the mac and cheese and green beans, and went with Mike's sauce and Mike's buffalo for dipping. The biscuit wasn't as soft as I would've liked, but everything else was very flavorful. Probably the best chicken tenders I've ever had. There's plenty of parking available that's shared with surrounding shops. Overall, I really enjoyed my first experience and would totally come again! read more

Our server Diana L. greeted us with a warm hello and smile. The atmosphere is all about being comfortable and enjoying some good food while watching some ANIME OR LOCAL NEWS. Well we saw an instagram for this and decided to try it out on my visit to Dallas and it did not disappoint!! Super reasonable prices and takes about 20min to make since it's fried fresh. We got it spicy and it had a good kick to it. Super crispy and juicy! Delicious! I opted for cream corn which I thought was great. The green beans were a little overcooked for me. The pictures others posted looked a little better. My aunt wanted to try mashed potatoes after we ordered so we had to pay the side price. If you add it when you originally ordered, it's only a couple of bucks. Biscuit was soft and fresh as well. Super pleased with chicken and will visit when I'm back in Dallas! Yum! read more
Service was really quick. Food very fresh. Mike's chicken is always good but it's been a while since I had it and it taste a little different than I remembered. I'd have to see if the maple ave location is any different. Nonetheless it was solid. No complaints read more

This might be some of the best Fried Chicken in Dallas! We were blown away with how fresh & flavorful everything was. Their sides were all great as well, the Mac n Cheese, Fries, Green Beans, Corn & Biscuits... Everything was on point! Did I mention Spicy Fried Chicken!? I do have to let y'all know, they make their chicken fresh, so don't expect fast food! We waited at least 15 minutes & it was worth the wait. We visited during lunch rush and were lucky enough to find a table right after placing our order. But it got pretty busy just after, so be prepared. They take orders online too... Finally was able to try this famous spot! Agree that this is some of the best fried chicken I've ever had. Service was very friendly and I think I prefer the honey mustard sauce than than the Mikes sauce. Portion sizes are really nice and I enjoyed the honey butter biscuit a lot! The dark 3 pc spicy really delivered too! We went on a Saturday evening because I know they are closed on Sundays. Didn't have to wait to order but food did take a while to come out. Trying to find the best chicken tenders and came across Mike's. I ordered 2 servings of the chicken and tenders which came with the green beans, Cole slaw, fries and beans. The tenders itself was nice and light with a thinner batter, similar to cane's tenders but not as flaky. I found this to be delicious and more appealing than other shops that drench the chicken in oil and makes it heavy and greasy. Beans were sweet but not as much as traditional bbq beans which I preferred, Cole slaw was also more milder in flavor, green beans tasted fresh and delicious and the fries were golden and very crispy. The biscuits were also well balanced not dry. My qualm is that I think the chicken could be bigger or come with 1 more piece as they were on the thinner side, but I recommend trying Mike's chicken. Service was timely and restaurant was clean. read more
Finally trying this Mike's Chicken location. Haven't been to Mike's in a while. Very good pricing for the amount of food you get. I got the two-piece thigh and breast, which comes with two sides and a roll for $10 (not including drinks). Chicken was hot, skin very flavorful and crunchy. I was craving Mikes the other day so I decided to stop by since I was in the area. I remember Mikes from back in the day when the restaurant was much smaller and there was always a line outside the door! I'm so glad they expanded and the restaurant is much bigger now. I ordered the tenders with a side of corn and mashed potatoes. The sides were good but nothing super amazing. The chicken was very flavorful and the tenders were a pretty good size as well. I also got the buffalo and mikes sauce and they were both flavorful dipping sauces. I definitely recommend trying Mikes out! It's super easy to order online and it doesn't take too long to get your food. read more
