Got this place for lunch at work and I think the best way to describe it is mid. It's not amazing but if I was hungry and it was in front of me, I'd probably eat it. I think my favorite was the mash because it had a chunky texture which I appreciate. Their bbq sauce is also good (not sure if it is made in house or bought) and definitely helped with the overall meal. I came here to get dinner to go for me and my Dad. We ordered the half chicken with green beans and sweet potato. The service was great. I didn't order ahead of time but the wait wasn't long. As I waited I took pictures of anything that I thought I could share. The ambiance is much better closer to the rotisserie. Not a fan of Cowboy Chicken. I would give it 2.5 stars if I could for their general chicken, but 2 is accurate for the salad I tried last time. I find it extremely overpriced for the quality of food here. I ordered last the salad with chicken here, and I literally couldn't finish it. The greens were old and the chicken felt unnecessary dry. It just didn't taste fresh. Servers forgot my dressing on the side request but were nice enough to help when I went back to the counter. It can get really loud in here if it's crowded because it's a small dining area. So much better to just buy a rotisserie chicken from Costco at 1/5 the price with more flavor too. read more

We've been loyal chickens since the day they opened (especially when they closed down the one closest to us). It's been worth the commute, our go-to spot for fresh food on the fly!! Theres only 1 associate manning the counter, but they had 2 large tablets available for you to order and serve yourself. They bring the food out to your table once it's ready. It's finally getting cooler in Texas, so we sat outside. Additionally, inside of the restaurant smelled like bathroom cleaner and was not appetizing at all! I ordered the half chicken (dark meat) meal. It comes with a roll (bread), and 2 sides. My sides were Mexican street corn and mashed potatoes with gravy. I am not sure if my starvation biased my taste buds, but the food was delicious! I was shocked at how low the restaurant was rated, but was pleasantly surprised. The Mexican street corn is not as great as your mom and pop Mexican restaurant, but it wasn't bad! I loved the mashed potatoes and gravy! Such a comfort food. The half chicken was delicious. Many types of chicken dishes made here, with a variety of sides. Salads, enchiladas, sandwiches, tenders, wings, etc. Brisket is served also, and a number of veggies as sides (including french fries) No alcohol, but Iced Teas, and Lemonades. Catering, and Family Meals, and Delivery for orders over $15. For $42 (plus 5 tip) we had Four Tenders & 2 sides (drink is extra). Also, Pulled Brisket Sandwich & 1 side (drink extra). I also sampled the Chicken Enchiladas (2) which came with 2 sides. Dinner Pro: Chicken Tenders (Honey Blaze) Sides Pro: Mexican Street Corn, Pro: French Fries, Pro: 1/2 baked Sweet Potato Dinner Meh: Pulled Brisket Sando, Chicken Enchiladas Sides Meh: Ranchero Beans (too watery, cold) Might as well chop the brisket. Some of the bark that made it into this "pulled" brisket was tough as nails, long as nails. The chicken breast meat in the 2 enchiladas was dry, not seasoned. The Tomatillo Cream Sauce was savory, good flavor. Ranchero Beans had a good flavor, but served in a low cardboard "dish" and watery, they went cold quickly. Beans are so cheap, why skimp? Staff was pleasant, the self-serve area was clean & stocked properly, and a variety of seating allowed for comfort. A flow of delivery drivers (no uniforms) were picking up food orders. I ordered from Cowboy Chicken for the first time today. Chicken was well seasoned & moist. The green beans were seasoned with salt and pepper, which is fine, and I'm glad they weren't canned beans. The rolls were soft but a bit doughy on the inside, maybe a tad bit underdone. The Spanish rice was okay, not authentic Spanish rice, but I'm sure you figured that, still decent. The best part of the meal was the chocolate chips cookie. OMG! Ooie gooie melted chocolate chips, chewy cookie, I loved it! This meal gave me Boston Market vibes. We have been die-hard CC fans since the first time we tried it. So it's not surprising that we ordered from there for our family Thanksgiving dinner. WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT! We ordered the $155 At-Home Turkey Package, described as Hot or Cold turkey breast, choice of potatoes AND side, stuffing and rolls. The internet photo shows a pan of turkey breast slices, mashed potatoes, dressing, green beans, gravy and rolls. We ordered it, specifying mashed potatoes and green beans. WHAT WE RECEIVED was a pan of chunks of turkey breast with two giant turkey wings (none sliced), TWO giant pans of crumbled dry cornbread (not dressing), a 1/2 inch deep pan of mashed potatoes with finger poke marks throughout, and no green beans. I phoned and was told that the dressing WAS the side and green beans would have been extra. Truth in advertising? hahahahaha. It's hard to imagine how they messed this up so completely, but the fact that they DEFENDED it is just egregious. We won't EVER make this mistake again. This place is horrible!!!! I had an order for pick up the night before thanksgiving so I decided to show up early. I figure it would be a bit pack since people were also picking up thanksgiving orders. The minute I walked in and asked one of the employees where to go for pick orders she rolled her eyes and said she didn't know. Not only did I have to wait almost two hours but was treated like cr@p and completely ignored especially by the supervisor and manager. They walked by me for almost two hours and not once was I asked what was going on. I felt discriminated and humiliated by this so call managers. Finally, when I got my food, it was thrown in a box with cheap foil paper on top so not only was i an hour late for my daughter's birthday dinner but the food was all over and the enchiladas were dry and just not like the ones they normally serve. Since like I mentioned before close to closing time, it looked like they just made my order quick an threw it in a box. ( my pick up time was 730pm and closing time was 9pm.i I left this place feeling discriminated and in tears. I was one of the first ones in line for pick up orders and the one the left close to 9pm they helped everyone and ignored me completely. Even a customer that showed up at 830pm for pick up left before me. When I asked the so call manager about my order and told her I had been there since 7 pm and everyone before/ after and all customers got their order but me she said well I have been here since 7am and I am not complaining and when she gave me the food she smiled in a cocky was and said have a lovely evening. So I put mine in and started my order. I have never been here so I thought thats how they operate. I love the food here! Rotisserie chicken cooking as you walk in and it smells soooo good! Seasoned just right! I love the twice baked, creamed spinach and the green beans..seasoned nicely and crisp not soggy!! My favorite is their take on banana pudding with cubes of pound cake, yummy pudding, banana slices on top crumbled with lorn doons! And the salads are amazing! Chicken skin crackle with slices of roasted chicken and fresh veggies. Who knew I could eat kale?! Service is friendly and they really care to make sure you have a good experience there. read more

The family was running errands and needed food so a spin of the internet took us 5 to CC. its located in a large shopping area with strip mall feeling. We entered and they did a good job of enforcing mask ordinance. You have a mixture of grilled chicken and other chicken style entrees. They also have a kids menu not posted. Wife and i had the half chicken special with 2 sides. The 2 boys had sliders and 2 drum sticks. The dinning area open but tables not family friendly. The sliders were good size. The chicken was dry and crispy but in a bad way. The green beans were flavorless. When I told wife she thought I was crazy since her chicken was juicy. I tasted it and yes it was pretty good. So now I'm thinking was it dry or not..i guess I need to try again to make sure. They have some good specials and kids eat free on Monday. I'll be back just chalk it up to the heat lamp. read more

After a bad experience here about 2 years ago where I waited over 30 minutes for a carry out order, I vowed never to go here again. Well, I decided to give this place one more chance last Saturday. Bad decision, our experience was even worse this time. First off, the place has a bad odor, same as 2 years ago, kind of like a sewer backed up. This time we were dining in and waited 47 min to get our meals delivered to the table. They were busy and quite a few people were waiting for carry outs as long as us. After 30 min, we asked one of the workers what was taking so long, and she said, "we ran out of chicken". What?? We could see at least 50 chickens turning on the rotisseries and none of them were ready??? Bad management all around. When the food arrived, it was a total disappointment. All of the food was too salty. The green beans which used to be fresh and delicious, are now frozen. The gravy on the mashed potatoes was awful, pretty sure it was canned. Oh, and the chicken that we waited so long for, was overcooked and dry. This time I'm positive I'm never going back here. I used to frequent the Cowboy Chicken in Plano and was never disappointed. I ordered future delivery to my home so that it would be there by the time I got home from work- ETA was 7-7:15 p.m. They arrived about 7:15 p.m. give or take. Everything in my order was CORRECT! Whaaaaaaaaaaaa? I was so paranoid based on these reviews for the Wylie location. We ordered the One Chicken Family Meal with Creamed Spinach, Green Beans, Mac n Cheese, added on a small Corn Fritters, small Twice Baked Potato and small Tomato Cucumber Salad with Rolls. I am a fan of sides so I wanted to try a selection. The sizes of the takeout sides are rather skimpy for the price. If I didn't know per the menu, the small looks small and the "large" looks like a medium. I would probably opt for the "Texas Large" next time for the sides I really enjoy. Now about that part... I'm from the Deep South so I expect certain flavors when eating these savory Southern favorites: LIKES: Chicken- The chicken was flavorful and moist. I don't do thighs. They always end up in the trash. However, I actually ate a whole thigh from Cowboy Chicken...if you know me, that ought to tell you something. Creamed Spinach- It was really good. Could use just a *tad* more salt but it was yum. Corn Fritters- I call them Corn Nuggets but they were good. Could be a little creamier on the inside but not a deal breaker. Green Beans- They look and taste fresh and were one of my favorites. None of that canned mushy stuff. Had a slight crunch to them. MAYBE: Mac n Cheese- It did not look like the photos I saw online but it tasted okay. My very first thought when eating it was that it wasn't what I expected and reminded me of KFC's mac n cheese...kind of artificial... Tomato and Cucumber Salad- I had to doctor this one up. The dressing they use was not flavorful at all. The salad tasted very fresh but lacked flavor. I had to add some Italian dressing that I had on-hand. Normally, I would make my own vinaigrette but no one's got time for that--that's why I ordered delivery! DISLIKES: Twice Baked Potato- Maybe it tastes better when you dine-in but I don't get why people are raving about it--it was just BLAH. Like something out of a jail cell cafeteria...
