The chicken here is really good. I especially like the spicy version. It's very well seasoned with a lot of flavor. The dipping sauces that come with it taste good also. Parking here is kind of limited for the amount of people coming here. However, there is paid parking in the back. If you are ordering to go it may be best to order ahead. Definitely a must try.
Absolutely fantastic food! Best homestyle fried chicken and sides I've had. We both got the 3 piece dark with mashed potatoes, mac n cheese, cole slaw, and green beans. Honey butter biscuit was delicious as well. Food was hot and fresh - took about 15 minutes to come out and we came during dinner time when they seemed pretty busy around 6:45 pm. Really casual, chill vibes and music playing. My only complaint was that I, unfortunately, did find a small piece of blue/turquoise plastic in my cole slaw. It stuck out to me since it's not a normal food color. I understand accidents happen and I told one of the staff members so hopefully they'll be more careful.

Corn was flavorless. Coleslaw was a vinegar base and not my favorite - huge long cuts of cabbage made it hard to eat as well. The biscuit - overcooked. Yes the chicken is good. But nothing game changing.

The chicken reminds me a lot of Golden Bird or Mrs. Knott's Fried Chicken (if you're from Southern California you know what I'm talking about). Our food came out fresh and the service was good. Today I stopped by the Mike's Chicken off of Maple Ave, I normally frequent their other location off Forest Ln. I think this location has more seating and the ordering is the same as well (at counter or through kiosk). Our food came out quick and it was pretty easy to find an empty table. I noticed that the mac and cheese looks different today, I wonder if they changed their recipe. The mac and cheese was creamy and delicious though, I think I prefer this one over the more yellow mac and cheese they had before! As for the chicken, fries, and biscuit, they were good as always. I like how consistent Mike's Chicken is regardless of which location I go to. I like getting the spicy tenders with Mike's buffalo sauce and ranch as my dipping sauces. The buffalo at Mike's is different from your standard buffalo sauce, this one has peanuts in it which surprisingly works. One thing to note about this location is that parking is a bit more difficult here as there's a giant pile randomly in the middle of the parking lot. I think people ended up parking in the mud next to the parking lot.

I got the three piece dark with fries and macaroni and cheese. It was all delicious. Mike's Chicken is still my favorite place to get fried chicken. I highly recommend this place to anyone who loves fried chicken. You won't be disappointed.

They're also pretty big and very filling. I couldn't even eat all three of them. The mac & cheese was delightful. The flavor was amazing and the cheese was so so good. Would definitely recommend this side despite it's up charge. French fries were also solid. For the prize, this place is really good and they don't talk on hidden fees or additional fees Honestly, what I would recommend for any occasion.
Mike's is definitely that guy. Fresh, made-to-order chicken that's always hot and crispy. Easily one of the best chicken spots in Dallas. No matter if you order a tender, breast, or thigh, the quality is consistently on point every single time. The sides are solid overall, though the corn is a little bland for my taste. This place is almost always packed, so expect a line and try to order ahead if you can. The walk-up window is perfect for quick to-go pickups. Parking can be a bit tricky during peak hours, but don't let that stop you. Mike's has become one of my go-to quick lunch spots and keeps me coming back.
Shame on me -- seriously. There is no single food item I put on a higher pedestal than fried chicken, and yet somehow after a decade of coming to Dallas, I'd never stepped foot inside Mike's Chicken. It's been on my radar forever, but I admittedly let the city's BBQ smoke and burger hype distract me. Rookie mistake. Because after one visit....I'm reevaluating my entire set of priorities. The chicken here is spectacular. Full stop. Yes, they've got sides, and they're fine, but nothing -- absolutely nothing -- holds a candle to the bird itself. You bite in and it's juicy on the inside, but the outside? That breading is on a whole different wavelength. Ultra-crispy, shattering, almost suspiciously perfect. It reminds me of Korean fried chicken... just without the sauce. And it's not all texture either, the chicken is very well seasoned. This feels like a cheat code someone smuggled into Dallas. Easily top three fried chickens I've had anywhere -- and trust me, that is not praise I hand out lightly. 3 starts for the sides, 6 stars for the chicken!
This place has some of the best fried chicken I've ever had. My friends took me here after picking me up from Dallas Love-Field for lunch and it was a great way to kick off a weekend in Dallas. The chicken was so crunchy but not greasy, and the sides of the mashed potatoes and creamed corn were delicious. The biscuit was buttery and warm, and my boyfriend also really enjoyed his chicken tenders. Everything was made fresh to order and a lot of locals were here. There's easy free parking and credit cards are accepted.
Great location off of Maple Ave The service was fast and friendly and the restaurant was very busy. I ordered and had the order in about 10 minutes. The food was fresh and hot and the chicken tenders were very good with the honey mustard sauce and buffalo sauce. I also got the Mac and cheese and green beans and they were equally good. I would recommend this restaurant

I got the 3 piece spicy tenders with french fries and mac and cheese. I wish the chicken had a stronger kick of spice but it was still delicious. The mac and cheese was good and worth the additional dollar charge. I also liked how the biscuit was super soft and not dry. The Mike Sauce and Honey Mustard complimented the chicken and fries well so I'd recommend those. I went during peak lunch hours and it was super busy. Despite that, I got my food quickly along with it being fairly spacious so there were many tables available to sit at. The parking lot is small though so I'd recommend carpooling if possible! read more

Mikes chicken is hands down the best fried chicken in town. The place is out of the way for me but it's really to die for. The food is amazing. The chicken is brined and well seasoned, deep friend to perfection. The baked beans and fries are standard but the star remains the chicken. The place is casual and nothing fancy. Went to Mike's for an early dinner with friends around 11:15 AM and there were still plenty of parking spots, but about 4-5 people already in line and food took another 10-ish to come out. It's casual vibes where you order at the register and they call out numbers, but the restaurant is new, clean, and has plenty of sunlight so it's still a great eating experience. Now for the important part, the food: Mike's Chicken does indeed offer banging fried chicken. I tried the 3 piece dark and the chicken was piping hot, super crunchy, perfectly seasoned, and insanely juicy. The sides ranged from just okay to great. I'd say the seasoned french fries are super solid and the mashed potatoes stole the show with how creamy they were. The coleslaw is a skip and the mac & cheese isn't anything special, but it's the exact manifestation of a childhood macaroni that we all occasionally crave. Same story with the biscuit, not mind blowing, but thoroughly enjoyable. The sauces probably let me down the most. The ranch is a skip and the Mike's Sauce felt under seasoned with everything else that was going on. Gravy was fine, but would probably be my choice to pair with the mashed potatoes. read more

I love fried chicken!! Have I mentioned that before? Not sure why it has such a hold on me, but it's my favorite thing to eat. All versions of it, really. Covered in sauce, crunchy crusted, plain, Korean, Mason TN, Kentucky, especially Popeyes, all of it if I am being honest. Bad fried chicken is better than most good things in my opinion. So when I landed at DAL (Dallas Love Field) the other day, and the closest bookmark was this place, I was pretty fucking stoked. I had not eaten that day because I screwed around and almost missed my flight out of MEM. I was starving but knew I had dinner just a few hours away. I just needed a snack. I walked in and said "I just need a snack" to Asian decent homeboy. Blank stare. Ok. Just realizing I am old as hell and need assistance ordering. Shit. I moved on and ordered like a big boy on my own. It's order at the counter, get hollered at, kind a place. Self serve bevs. Get you own everything. Almost fast food feels, except they say we are not fast food because we take so long stuff around. To the only important things. Chicken was really solid. Crunchy is an understatement. Hot as the damn sun when I got it. Spicy goodness when I finally ate it 10 mins later. Sides were really damn good! Shockingly good if I am being honest. Corn is what corn dreams are made of. Sadly, the biscuit was trash. Dry and of the frozen nature before it was cooked. Shouldn't even be offered and it took away from the chicken points. Mike's Chicken lives up to the hype. I ordered pickup and got a 2 piece meal (dark meat) with mac & cheese and French fries. Despite sitting for 20 mins during the drive home, the chicken was still perfectly crunchy. The skin was lightly battered, thin, and crispy. The fat was rendered out but the chicken was still moist. The mac & cheese was reminiscent of KFC but more elevated. The French fries were lightly battered and crispy. read more

Mike's Chicken = Good! I tried the BREAST + WING combo with 2 sides, a biscuit, and MIKE'S SAUCE and WOW! The chicken was fresh, juicy, and full of flavor, and that sauce? Tangy, peppery, salty... all in one delicious dip. The sides weren't my favorite this time green beans were crisp (I prefer softer), and the fries were plain, but ketchup helped. Sweet tea was refreshing and paired perfectly. The place was packed, so it's obvious Mike's Chicken is a fan favorite. I'll be back to try a different side combo next time! read more
Impeccably done fried chicken right here. I haven't been to the Oak Lawn location in a minute. Looks like they renovated the interior to create more space. We arrived just after opening time and the seats were already packed with eager customers. Parking can be a bit tight. It seems everyone is a regular here so folks try to clear out quickly. For the people that didn't know, Mike's Chicken is actually fried chicken made by Vietnamese people and it's my FAVORITE fried chicken in DFW. I usually get the tenders but I have tried their regular chicken as well and they're both fantastic! The tenders are very flavorful and moist. They go perfectly with the gravy (it's what I always pick for the dipping sauce). My side of choice is the green beans. It's nothing special, I just like it. Since they cook your food when you place the order, it might take some extra time for the chicken to come out. I usually get takeout at Mike's so I place the order online and pick it up 15-20mins later. The parking lot can get a little tight as well during heavy business hours. read more

The chicken itself was superb, as was the dallop of gravy, the fries, and the sweet parts on top of the biscuits. The corn was less creamy and watered down than we liked. You know who the regulars are by their pick-up process. There's a walk-up window so you don't even have to go into the deafening music level inside, but there should truly be a drive-thru, considering how tight the parking is. Kids approved and our whole family was better fed than if we had spent the $40 on hotel food. read more

Got there 10 mins before opening on a Thursday. There was 2 people waiting. As soon as they opening people start lining up and it's non stop from there They have the crispiest chicken I've ever head. Not just crispy but juicy and delicious. It takes a while since they fry to order but it's totally worth the wait. Biscuits are soft and flaky. Sides and sauces are great but it's all about the chicken here. Tenders are good but you need to get the bone in chicken. Good amount of seating inside but you need to get there before opening. I have been here over 20+ times and consider myself a mikes chicken expert. Their chicken is best eaten with mikes hot honey (don't have here. I buy my own). Chicken still good after all these years. Their sides needs seasoning. I only recommend baked beans and creamy corn, the only two sides with flavor. Their green beans are bland. Fries are previously frozen and not even the good fries. Best fried chicken ever! Gave this place a try because of food YouTuber Mikey Chen. Man oh man was that a great decision. The chicken is very flavorful, moist and the perfect amount of breading. I recommend getting it spicy. Their sides are great with their biscuits being noticeably moist and never dry. Their buffalo sauce is also slightly peanuty. We would routinely do weekend trips in Dallas from Austin, mainly for this chicken. There's a viral video of a guy eating the chicken in a car, crying because it's so good. this place is so good. first time having it and was blown away by everything. the food is amazing. the 3 piece tender meal i got was so so tasty. tenders were juicy inside but crisp on the outer layer. biscuit was big and soft. fries were great. the mac and cheese was so gooey and good. full of goodness. service is amazing. super efficient. did not take long to wait in line or wait for my food. i think i waited only like 4 minutes. honestly, this place deserves a bigger space! parking is also pretty decent with a lot. read more

This is easily some of the best fried chicken I've ever had. The meat is incredibly juicy, and the skin has that perfect, shattering crispiness. It's clearly a local staple because I've never seen a day where they aren't busy. While there is plenty of seating, the dining room fills up fast. Definitely order ahead! They fry everything to order, which makes the food amazing, but it means a bit of a wait if you just walk in. read more

The sides were okay, nothing to rave about. The ambience was causal with plenty of seatings, and customer service was fast. Overall, it's more of a 3.5/5 but I'll round it up to a 4/5. Definitely can see why it's considered some of the best chicken in Dallas, with an amazing crisp and texture. The fries were also delicious and crispy. The only cons was that the mac and cheese was bland and the Mike's sauce had a very overpowering flavor and so did the buffalo sauce. As my daughter would say, good eats!! Apparently, my friends have been keeping this place to themselves. We were in the area and they suggested we go. It's my first time, and I'm a fan. I got the 2 breast's and wing plate with beans and corn. It also comes with a biscuit. Everything delish. There were quite a few people inside so I would suggest if you're getting it to go to order ahead. It took about 20 min for our food. Food was AMAZING. Best fried chicken place in all of Dallas IMHO. Loveeeee the chicken tenders + Mac n cheese is so good + creamy corn is so yummy. My boyfriend got the baked beans + fries, and I was also stealing those off his plate. So delicious!!!!!! Everytime I'm there, the phones are constantly ringing, so they definitely answer. They're just busy, keep trying.
Does Mike's Chicken open during Thanksgiving?
