Upon our arrival we were greeted by two staff members with big smiles on their faces. We were asked if it was our first time, I which it was, and got some great input. We ordered our food and it came out quick and it was delicious! Hot, fresh, and CRUNCHY (like you can hear the crunch). After seeing the online hype I was very excited to check Red Chickz out, but seeing the reviews we were a bit apprehensive. Turns out we should have leaned in to the hype since the chicken here is excellent! We arrived and the gentleman at the counter was super friendly and walked us through all the menu options. Service here was great the entire time and they have an excellent team. The restaurant has a great amount of seating and is well decorated and inviting. We ordered the Tenders with the Potato Wedges as well as the Corn Ribs. The chicken is indeed crispy with an amazing texture to the exterior. The interior was moist and there was a good flavor throughout. The potato wedges are a highlight and are far and away better than the limp sad fries served at other chicken places. The Corn Ribs were also well seasoned and they managed to keep the corn from being overcooked. This is a great chicken spot! Highly Reccommended and you should stop in soon! read more

My son and I got take out sandwiches from here. We got the combo deal which included a drink and wedge fries. We ordered it medium hot. It was mediocre at best. There is precious little chicken in the sandwich as most of it is the horrible crispy batter they are so proud of. I didn't think it was anything special and in fact detracted from the flavor profile of the sandwich. There is precious little fixin's on the sandwich either. Just terrrible crispy chicken (sic) and bread, which was a little soggy, too. The fries were actuall cold and they were very salty. I left most of them and I love wedge fries. In conclusion, I will not be going back. I'm more of Chik-Fil-A kid of guy and their sandwiches and fries are awesome. About $5 cheaper, too. Super clean. Really customizable menu. Unpopular opinion but I stand by it. This is FAR SUPERIOR to Mike's Hot Chicken and other Nashville Hot Chicken in the area. We got there when they opened today and the opening crew were so sweet to help us with suggestions for the menu and what to decide on. I chose the Bonfire mac n cheese bowl and it was flavorful and TOO MUCH for one setting. We also ordered rhe chicken strip meal in Glow and the shrimp meal in Spark. This is ACTUALLY HOT and flavor/Scoville level as advertised, so if u want hot, bonfire is what it says. They also have blaze and inferno and im sure those are atomic! Finally decided to check this spot out now that the hype has died down a little bit! Dined in and got the cauliflower sandwich (bonfire - hot) with potato wedges as my side and a side of french toast. Not sure how I feel about today's visit, definitely have both pros and cons. Pros: - Potato wedges and french toast were delicious - Batter on cauliflower was super crispy as promised - Everything was super fresh and came out relatively quickly. Cons: - I underestimated the spice levels and thought I could handle the bonfire flavor but was mistaken. This was my own fault but it made the meal a bit difficult for me to enjoy. - I was super excited to try the french toast sandwich after hearing others hype it up but tried subbing cauliflower as a vegetarian which they weren't able to accommodate. Finally made it to The Red Chickz after almost 6 years of wanting to try it! I originally saw them out in Los Angeles years ago, so I was excited to finally give them a shot here in Carrollton. The staff was amazing and definitely one of the highlights of the experience. The tenders were nicely sized, cooked perfectly throughout, and had a good texture. I went with the "Spark" seasoning, which had a nice flavor and a little kick. I'd recommend "Bonfire" with no oil and lite seasoning!! That said, I was a little disappointed with the chicken itself. The chicken doesn't have much flavor on its own, similarly to Canes but 10x's better than Canes. Majority of the flavor comes from whichever spice seasoning you choose and their homemade comeback sauce. The sauce was good and definitely helped bring everything together. Overall, it was a solid experience, but after waiting nearly 6 years to finally try The Red Chickz, I was expecting the chicken itself to have a little more flavor. Food was alright: the potato wedges were nicely seasoned and crispy, the chicken tenders are good (they only have chicken tenders) and quite crispy as well, but the comeback sauce needs some texture work as it was a bit runny. My main issue was the staff taking orders not knowing how to compare their spice levels to Hattie B's or Howlin's, and then the lack of a sale or any guidance. Amazing food and people! Our Texas heat is no joke. We waited in line outside on opening day. It was brutal, but EVERY team member was hustling to make sure we were all ok. They handed out water and stickers and smiles. Patty was phenomenal! I didn't think to bring sunscreen for my pale kiddo and she shared hers with me (thank you Patty)! I got the cool level honey butter sandwich (I'm a pansy, I know).
