We recently dropped by this Pakistani restaurant in a strip mall on a Saturday afternoon. We had heard about this restaurant from a chef of a neighboring Thai restaurant. We were seated right away. It is could little while in the wall. We stated with the Veggie Samosas for appetizers. They came out crispy and hot but weren't too oily. We also had the Beef Shami Patty. It is a mix of beef, daal, and egg. They were delicious. For our main dishes, we Beef Uddham Kebab, Chicken Tikka Boti, and Chicken Biryani. We got sides of Garlic Naan and Regular Naan Bread. It was all delicious. We finished of with some Gajar Halwa (Sweet Shredded Carrot Dessert) and some Doodh Pathi (Chai or Indian Tea). I definitely liked the food and we will back again. read more

I have some mixed feelings about this place. On one hand, they are a small business thats offering some authentic stuff. On the other hand, their service and atmosphere is abysmal. Not only is it uninviting to eat inside, but they were actively working on wood work and interior improvements while we were waiting for our food. I could see the wood particles blowing around in the sunlight, which wasnt appetizing. I only stayed because my friend insisted I try this place out. While the servers arent rude, they all seem like they are in a comatose when taking my food over or receiving my food. Absolutely no expression as they mumbled back my order. I get that English isnt their first language, but they act like me being in there was unexpected?! I ended up getting the lachan paratha, as well as the gola kabobs, and tried two different lassi. The Lachan paratha is easily some of the best Ive had at a restaurant. Keep in mind this is different from naan or roti. These parathas were dense, buttery, yet still soft and delicate. I saw several people come on buying these by the grocery bags full! If all you get out of this is order the paratha, you wont be disappointed. The Gola kabobs didnt have much seasoning at all. They tasted just like hamburger meatballs and not much else. While they were ok, I couldnt help feeling I could have made this at home. There was no char or smoke to signify anything special about them in my book. The lassi here is fine, although it could have been thicker for my taste. The consistency was alot thinner than it should be. They had a sweet and salty version of the regular plain lassi. While I appreciated both, I gravitated more towards the sweet one. Since the kabobs and paratha already were plenty salty. Overall, I loved the paratha, but everything else Ive tried was so-so. After hearing about their bbq, we decided to try this with some family. First, it's a pretty small restaurant. There's a few tables, but with two large groups, the restaurant gets crowded. It also looks like there's not many workers, so the food does take a while. We ordered the beef combo, chicken tikka boti, and the chicken Manchurian with fried rice combo. The beef combo came with the footlong beef kabab, beef gola, and the beef boti. Both the footlong beef kabab and the beef gola were delicious, and hit. I can definitely see why Beba is famous for that! I did not like the beef boti at all. It was really tough. The chicken tikka was okay. It was bland, but was better when eaten with the jalapeños they gave on the side. The chicken Manchurian and fried rice was a pass. Went here for breakfast with some out of town friends. They had a brunch buffet going on but we asked to see the menu so we could go a-la-carte. The host obliged. The breakfast items here are great. Get a paki style omlette with paratha and it's like being back in the old country. We have also had their Pakistani bbq, kebobs and chicken. Its pretty good. They have a bbq kabob platter which comes with some familiar and also unique sauces. My wife and I were hooked on that for a while. Service wise they are nice but inefficient. Online ordering is a bit wonky as the hours don't line up their operating hours so try ordering over the phone instead. Although they aren't great about picking up the phone during busy time but that's sort of par for the restaurant industry. So after all that still 4 stars? Yeah. The food is good and owners are nice. Just not very adept technology wise. I hope they fix the online order system, maybe have by now. I usually recommend this place when people ask me about paki restaurants to try so that should say something. read more

Tried out this place with my parents and I have to say, we were incredibly impressed. My Pakistani dad who is an incredibly picky eater (especially when it comes to Pakistani food) was practically inhaling the nihari. You are NOT coming for the restaurant and ambiance itself, it reminds me of a cantine in Pakistan. (Small shops with restaurants attached, usually have plastic chairs or straw beds to eat off of) there aren't any plastic chairs or straw beds, but it seems they took no time in the interior of the restaurant. It seems like this restaurant is primarily a to go option, but the food is worth it. The nihari was incredibly tender and was falling apart as we were taking bites. The seekh kabab had a great taste to it and because this is a Pakistani restaurant, it's one of the few places you can order beef samosas. Although I wouldn't dine in again, I would definitely go back to pick up food. read more

I'm not sure what the hype is .... This place has very limited seating. Almost all the seating is next to the bathroom entrance. Food was less than average honestly. I heard great reviews so we checked it out for dinner. We ordered 2 chicken seekh kabob, Chana salan and paratha, 1 keema matar and Naan. There was no spice, not even in the chutneys. Everything was very minimal, which I'm sure a lot of people appreciate but we're Punjabi so we did not. We were looking for the spice. The seekh kabob were dry and the chutneys didn't add anything, they charge 0.50 extra for those by the way. The paratha I thought was like frozen and then cooked. Not fresh. I ordered the Goat Biryani and Chicken Karahi. There was a generous portion of the goat biryani for the price and a good meat to rice ratio. Although the portion was good, the biryani taste did not come through and lacked flavor. On the other hand the Chicken Karahi was really delicious and left me with a smile on my face after eating it. Beba BBQ used to be our favorite restaurant when it first opened, but unfortunately, over time it has lost its charm. Because of this, we stopped dining there or ordering takeout. Our favorite item was their Parathas, which initially tasted exactly like the ones from Pathan restaurants back home--crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Though expensive, we felt the authentic flavor made it worth the price. Sadly, the price remains the same, but the Parathas have changed--they are now dry, floury, and lack flavor, especially if you're familiar with the authentic taste. Today, after a long break, we decided to give the restaurant another try and ordered their Kulfi. Again, it was expensive, but we were disappointed. It didn't taste like Kulfi at all; instead, it felt like we were eating a block of slightly sweetened butter. We no longer recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for authentic Pakistani food, especially as their hospitality and service have also declined. read more

There paratha is awesome and out of this world it goes with the shahi dal, malai chicken, and beef gola. It taste really good when it is eaten at the restaurant and the food is fresh and warm. Chicken malai, garlic naan, beef kebab was really good. Tandoori shrimp was something new to me. Only $5. It was listed at 10 pieces but I'm pretty sure I got more. The rest of their appetizers looked good too. Would come again as it's close to my neighborhood and tastes better than most Indian places I've been to in California or Texas. Food comes out hot and stays warm for awhile. This is a gem in the neighborhood. I brought it to the staff's attention who on my second attempt did some air spray there to neutralize it Service was very poor and thats because there were only two staff members outside the kitchen. I saw the reviews and wanted to try it out for myself. did Not disappoint!!! The portions and extremely generous and the food is truly amazing. I had a craving for Halwa Puri which is a Saturday/ Sunday brunch type greasy food haven. They provided chana ( chickpeas) , potatoes and Halwa. At 1st I thought that the Halwa portion was small but it was extremely filling. This is probably the best Halwa I have ever had, moist and not overly sweet or greasy. The 2 vegetable samosas for $3.99 seemed a little pricey but we ordered it. Between the two listed items, we were full, but being pleasantly plump and prefer to overgorge myself, we ordered the Chicken Lover. We ended up taking most of it home and it was still delicious for dinner leftovers. we had it with the naan and paratha (buttered bread) I believe I found my go to place every time I come to the Carrollton area. They have paper plates for the food which is fine. The problem is that they charge you 18% service fee/gratuity for a nonexistent service. I'd be ok if with that if there is service. Ordered: 1 order of Tikka Masala bowl comes with a box FULL of rice 1 order Of Glazed mini Chappalli with probably 6 pieces and it comes with Paratha 2 orders of Naan is 4 large naan wrapped in foil All this would feed 3 people easy! I promised I'd support small businesses especially during this time, so I make it an effort to find good eats in my community. They make it easy, opened from 3pm to 11pm most days except Sunday (close at 10PM). Super accommodating hours for late night binging. They were out but the host taking my order was super helpful in helping me pick out an alternative. He explained the differences between my other possible choices- Chicken Tikka Masala (a common popular dish) and Nihari (raved about on Yelp for this place). I went with Nihari since I'm feeling adventurous and it did feel like a safe choice since it was highly touted. He asked if I were waiting in my car and since I was, he volunteered to just bring it to me. Curbside pick up-ish? Yes, please. I got my order to go, but if you're dining in, expect a clean, basic dining environment. Nothing special, but anything you'd need provided and readily available. Most likely self served. Mango Lasissi - super delish and satisfying. Not overly sweet like it sometimes get at places Tandoori Fries - amazing! Sauce over fries. A smidge bit spicy but I'm sure you could request it be non-spicy Beef Nihari - also spicy and a smidge oily. An update: We have had the food here 3 times now (once takeout) and it has always been a really great experience from the authentic flavors to the amazing customer service. We went today for their breakfast and it is by far the best halwa puri I have had in the DFW area. The cholay and aloo bhujia were top notch and the anda paratha was no less than what you would find at a popular roadside dhaaba in Pakistan. Their grill is also always super delicious - moist and packed with flavor. We could see how hard at work the team was behind the scenes as well as at the front to ensure every customer is well taken care of. Searched D Magazine for the best Indian food and Beba BBQ popped up. People were nice and the service was great. The place is not clean. I took the menu to blow away hair I saw on the counter and looked and saw more. I wished I could say it was terrific, but I did not eat it. I thought I could, but I could not get pass the dirty carpet at the door. I forgot to mention, I was there 20 minutes after they opened, so it should have been clean. read more
