Paneer Butter Masala
Rupa N.

A hole in the wall type of restaurant where it seems to be more popular for take out. I ended up dining in, there are a few tables for dining. I ordered paneer butter masala which I requested medium spicy and it was pretty mild. The Paneer butter masala was very creamy and buttery. I wish there was spice to it. You can pick between rice and naan and I ordered garlic naan which had a surcharge. The naans are rather thin than your regular soft fluffy naans so one person can finish a naan. You order at the counter and the food is brought out to you in paper bowls and plates. Not bad for the price.

Came across this place as my husband and I were running an errand in Carrolton, it's a nice little Dallas community, so I preface by saying it's a little odd that the restaurant is in the state it's in. It comes across as a little unfriendly when you enter the establishment. From the signs on the wall printed "please clean up after yourself"- what does that tell you? It's a little aggressive and unwelcoming, almost making me feel like I am an inconvenience as a customer. With that in mind, the eating area could use a little more love and care, maybe some music playing, it felt so cold and awkward without some background noise. The food was served on paper plates with plastic cutlery. We ordered cashew chicken, garlic naan, and vegetable samosas. The cashew chicken flavor was delicious- paired with the naan it was really yummy! The spices, the marinade- I really enjoyed that. The samosas were a little hard and dry, maybe not fresh, maybe frozen to fryer. I wish they were served with a tamarind sauce. The bathroom situation was strange- walk through the restaurant's back of house to get to it. In the future, I might try this place again, but I would order to-go.

it was Chicken Tikka Masala

Recently moved to the area, saw how affordable and close this restaurant was so I decided to try it. the food is so good, i recommend the butter chicken and chicken tikka masala! i personally like the medium spice level, enough flavor and a little bit of a runny nose haha. also their mango lassi is PERFECTION. the staff there are so kind and welcoming! the place is small but perfect size. the food is so good, i licked my container CLEAN! if you are craving indian cuisine, this is the place!

This is a small, casual Indian restaurant with good food along with a few unique choices I don't often see at other Indian restaurants. I got the chicken shahi kurma (which I usually see as "chicken korma" in other restaurants), basmati rice, and plain naan. I thought the chicken korma was good but thought the rice and naan were just average. The medium spicy tasted about medium to me. My friend got the chicken chettinad which he really liked. His medium was a bit spicier than my medium. Overall, I liked this place and would come back. It's not a huge place and can fill up quickly so you may want to get your order to-go during busier times.

I gave this place 4 stars because it's more of a take out place. It has zero ambience and you have to order at the counter and clean up after yourself. The food was great. No complaints. I've had better, but it's pretty good all things considered. There were only Indian folks eating there besides us so that's gotta tell you something. It looks like it's a family operation. Wouldn't hurt them to get some actual dinnerware instead of the styrofoam plates and bowls we were served in. Friendly staff. We had the chicken tikka masala and the curry lamb. The garlic naan was delicious! It's close to our house so we will continue coming here but definitely for takeout. I'll update my review once I know what that's like!

Try this spot for take out as it was pretty late- it was tasty but lack the heat (spicy level) that I was looking for. Also I don't think they gave me basmati rice. The veggie samosa were tasty.

Our online order was ready on time, and came out piping hot. Pickup was quick and easy, and the staff was friendly. I had the paneer butter masala and it was delicious! The rice that came with it was fluffy and perfectly cooked. My husband ordered the chicken dum biryani and he really enjoyed it as well. We had the garlic and the butter naan and they were both great. We look forward to trying more of the food here!

This is a counter-style restaurant, so it looks like majority of people get it to-go. Ambiance Super casual: order at the counter, sit wherever (there's about 4-5 small tables), they'll bring you your food in disposable plates/silverware, and you throw it all away yourself. There's a water dispenser with cups on the side to serve yourself. Oh and Bollywood music videos playing in the corner tv. Food Friend got the paneer tikka masala and butter naan, and I ordered butter chicken, garlic naan, and mango lassi. Paneer tikka masala - had peppers in it which my friend said he hasn't encountered before but not mad at. Did think it was heavy on the heavy cream though. Butter chicken- thought this was really good and would get it again! Mango lassi- done well, wish it was a little more for $4 but still worth Garlic naan- (and butter naan) were so good, but they took forever because they make them fresh I guess (like I got my garlic naan when my friend finished eating) but it was so good and so worth the wait I inhaled a slice immediately. Overall, I would definitely go back and dine-in but if you're looking for a nice date spot this ain't it lol

I ordered the chicken tikka masala and boneless chicken biriyani both in spicy and it was pretty good. The chicken tikka masala lacked a little more flavor in my opinion, I ended up adding a bit more salt. The boneless chicken biriyani was really good too, I enjoyed the flavor of the chicken itself. I also got a side of garlic naan which never disappoints.

For me, who hates the unique scent of Indian food, this is the only Indian restaurant I can visit. Try it~~ I recommend it.

Spice Grove Indian Cuisine - Chicken tikka masala

I'll start by saying this, I'm not casually into Indian food. I'm an Indian food aficionado. My…read morebusiness partner is Indian, and we are constantly trying new Indian restaurants. If you really know Indian food, you know there are levels to this. Most places serve what I lovingly call Campbell's Soup Tikka Masala. Super sweet, neon red, one note, wrong color, wrong consistency. Basically tomato soup with sugar and turmeric pretending to be a masala. It fills you up, but it doesn't make you pause and savor anything. Spice Grove Indian Cuisine is not that place. This is the real deal. The flavors are layered, balanced, and clearly cooked with intention. Not overly sweet, not dumbed down, just full of garlic, spice, depth, and that unmistakable "this was done right" feeling you get when Indian food is executed properly. We ordered a spread, saag, tikka masala, butter chicken, korma, vindaloo, garlic naan, and honestly there wasn't a weak dish on the table. Everything had the right color, the right texture, and the right punch of flavor. This is food you slow down for. I won't say this is the single best Indian food I've ever had, I reserve that for a few heavy hitters like Dishoom and Brigadiers in London and Chola in New York City. But if those are 10s, this is a very solid 8.5, and that is high praise. They're busy for a reason. You cannot go wrong here. If you love Indian food, or want to understand why people love Indian food, just go. You'll leave happy and probably already planning your next visit.

We got seated but no one was there to seat us but we were able to seat ourself. The food was so delicious and filled with flavors. The butter chicken with the garlic naan was so good and had a little kick to it. We also got their chicken biriyani which was good and spicy, you can see the masala within the rice. On the side we got their pani puri which was good and perfect for sharing and as an appetizer. The last dish we got was their szheuan noodles with chicken and it was spicy if you can handle the level of spice but filled with so much flavors or Indian and Chinese flavors. Definitely will be back to try more thing son the menu:
