Kofta Lajawab and Paneer Tikka Masala
    Karisa A.

Delicious, authentic Punjabi cuisine! Highly recommend trying out Urban Tadka! My friends and I stopped by for dinner on a Thursday night. We were greeted by the hostess and there was no wait for a table. For apps we ordered the Tandoori Paneer Tikka and the Vegetable Pakora. Both had loads of flavor -- I loved the char on the paneer and the crunch of the pakora. Shared mains included the Kofta Lajawab and the Paneer Tikka Masala. Both were tasty! I liked the spice of the tikka masala sauce more than the malai, but enjoyed the fresh koftas. The garlic naan was thin and had the perfect amount of garlic! Only qualm with our experience was service. No waiters came around to fill our waters or check in while we ate our meal. We did meet the owner who was friendly and kindly greeted us!

Visited for the first time a week ago and it was AMAZING!! All the dishes we ordered were so flavorful!! The staff was all so great too!! I will definitely go back soon!! We ordered Lamb Shahi Korma, Paneer Butter Masala and Chicken Tikka Masala!! I'm drooling just typing that out!!! Yum!!

    Table prepared for me

I arrived at the restaurant around noon on a Saturday. There were about three other groups of people eating at that time. I was greeted by a hostess. She went and prepared my table quickly and then walked me to it. I spoke with a waitress (maybe manager) and she told me that the restaurant has food from Northern India. I ordered the Tandoori Chicken and it was delicious. This was the first time I ever ordered this dish at any Indian restaurant and I loved it. Finger licking good! I also had some garlic naan as I could not help myself. I liked the ambiance, food, and the service. It could be a nice dinner date location if they dimmed some of the lights. I will definitely return!

Walked in at 6:15pm - busy it was by 6:45 this Saturday Evening! (09/09/23)

A wonderful Indian restaurant found. Simple setting. Attentive service. A large menu to ponder over. A welcoming wait for their freshly made-to-order dishes! On this Saturday evening, creamy yogurt forward "Mango Lassi"; characterless "naan"; flavorful "Tandoori Chicken"; and, the dish I'll come back for again and again, UT's succulent *Lamb Saagwala*! CHEERS!

Went for dinner w a work colleague. Food was tasty , portions were generous and service was ok+ - what else can you ask for? We got : 1) chicken tilkka masala - was juicy and came sizzling hot. Very good dish . 4.5/5 2) saag paneer - felt fresh and rich, very good . 4/5 3) chicken kebab - a bit on the dry side . 3/5 All together the menu seem to have some promising dishes to try out . Food- hands down the best malai kofta I have had anywhere. I love malai kofta and I tend to order it at most indian restaurants, but urban tadka has my favorite malai kofta. Naan is pretty good as well. Service- as they have grown popular their service has gone down hill. They are not accommodating and often get into quarrels with the customers. They are the only indian restaurant that charges their customers for lemon and onions, this is bizarre. I have seen them bring out the curry way earlier than the naan and not help the customers out when the curry is cold since the naan/roti came out so late. They definitely need to make some changes to how they treat their customers. Ambiance- it's pretty nice. Typical Indian restaurant

Hands down some of the best Indian we've ever had. This Punjabi establishment is one of our favorites. The strip has seen better days, but that doesn't stop this place getting packed. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We had the chicken tandoori- juicy on the bone pieces seasoned to perfection that came out sizzling. The lamb vindaloo and butter chicken. We especially enjoyed the saagwala- stewed spinach and mustard greens. The breads were delicious; probably one of the best lachha paratha we've had in a long time. Already have been back to bring a friend who was visiting. He too thought it was delicious.

My friends have been talking about this place for so long and I'm glad I finally got to try it. It was very busy but we were able to be seated in a few minutes. The menu is extensive and has so much variety. The food came in these cool dishes and it was all delicious and authentic. The lamb shahi korma was my favorite. I plan on bringing my parents here.

We ordered the butter chicken and the Goat Rarah, and unfortunately, both fell a bit flat for us. They were just okay, we've definitely had better. The butter chicken leaned more tomato-forward than expected, which wasn't my favorite. The tandoori naan was excellent, though, and my husband did enjoy the Reshmi Seekh Kebab. Our waiter was kind and attentive, which we appreciated. Overall, this visit felt like a miss food-wise, but I'd genuinely love to hear what dishes others recommend because I really want to give this place another shot!

We ordered the papdi chaat, which had great chutneys but a small portion. For the main, chicken saag and paneer butter masala were ordered. The paneer butter masala isn't how it was described: "Paneer cubes simmered in a smooth tomato and butter gravy, finished with dried fenugreek." The gravy was chunky and not buttery like the sauce that's described. The paneer was a little hard. Although I did not eat the saag chicken, it was enjoyed. The restaurant became busy around 7:30 PM on a Saturday evening, and we had a 7:00 PM reservation.

I haven't had vada pav sliders before but the filling is kind of like fried samosa filling without the dough. It's good. The serving size of the biryani was very impressive. You can see from the photo that they fill the container and then add another mound of rice on top of that - basically 2 servings (we took one home). And they didn't skimp on the chicken either! The chicken is cooked perfectly, the sauces are a great complement and this is an excellent dish. The Lunch Thali gives you a lot of bang for your buck and mine included ~5 pieces of fish fry, about the same amount of veg pakora, yogurt dip, chicken curry with rice, 2 different soups, a naan/tortilla thing, and a carrot dessert (like a halwa). All had good flavor and the soups have a nice spicy kick to them. However, since all the dishes for the thali come off the lunch line (ie all premade), the tortilla, fish and pakoras had been sitting out for awhile and not too hot. Had they come out fresh from the fryer, I might have given this experience 5 stars. As it stands, I'll probably be back for lunch anyways - and the thali is available 7 days a week!

The wait time was around 15 mins. The restaurant looked like it is well maintained and the bathroom looked maintained which is nice as they do reflect on any and every establishment. The dining area looked as if they set up for a buffet/family style meals, and there are about 3 tables for outdoor dining. Overall this was a pleasant experience and I'd say that the food was very pleasant in taste and appearance. As my order was ToGo, my expectations would be that the bag would have had plastic ware and napkins. This time I went a bit all out and ordered the butter chicken momo, creamy Sichuan momo, tandoori momo, steamed momo, and the Delhi masala momo. Honestly, this visit was way better. Last time the biggest issue was the sauce, it just wasn't enough and everything felt pretty dry, but this time they really fixed that and the sauces actually showed up, which made a huge difference. Everything tasted solid overall, though it really depends on what you like since the flavors are pretty different across the menu. The momo wrappers are on the thicker side, so if you're someone who prefers a thinner skin, just keep that in mind because that was the case with all the ones I tried. My favorite ended up being the tandoori momo, even though it was a bit salty, the flavor was really good. I usually don't go for butter chicken momo, but that one surprised me, it was actually a hit and everyone at the table liked it. The Delhi masala momo was vegetarian and still packed with flavor, and the creamy Sichuan momo was also pretty good. The place was pretty busy when we went, but the service was quick, so overall this time it felt like a much better experience.
