Dinner
Walter S.

I stumbled upon Hyderabad House thanks to Yelp a couple of years back whilst in town for work and must say out of all of the Indian options in the area, this is the one I find myself returning to the more than others. There are a few things I enjoy about Hyderabad but what stands out the most are their atmosphere and the food. Upon entering, feel free to grab a table in their dining room, which you will find is quite spacious, well lit, and inviting. After a short wait a server will bring by a menu and give you a chance to peruse their rather sizable options. This menu is large but easy to navigate, as a vegetarian I appreciate how they have veggie sections of the menu for apps and entrees. I've tried quite a number of both (some of their apps are SPICY-I'm looking at you Karampodi Paneer) as well as their curries and entrees. They have recently expanded their menu and added a few new items (sadly they've been out of the Saag Panner everytime I've tried to order it) and I must say of the new items I've tried, I haven't ever had anything I did not enjoy. Side Note: their garlic naan is some of the best I've ever had. Side Side Note: I do wish they offered samosas, but that's just a me problem. Service is fine. Nothing that will blow you away but never had an issue or negative experience. I typically will ask for two bottles of water when I order my meal and aside from the occasional check-in, interactions have been at a minimum, which I enjoy. Also, parking is plentiful and whilst you dine, they typically have Indian music videos playing on the TVs and at times it sounds/feels like you're in the club with how loud they can have them playing. Time and again I find myself at Hyderabad House and chances are this will continue to be the trend. Even with new and plentiful options in the area when it comes to Indian options for dinner, I continue to frequent and favor Hyderabad House more than others around.

Puri in thali

Stopped by for lunch today from office! Ordered Non Veg thali! It included mutton curry, chicken curry, dal, sambar, rasam, biryani rice, raita, Apollo fish appetizer, poori & boondhi ladoo! Appetizer & Poori arrived late to table. Apart from mutton curry being little salty everything else tasted great.

I picked up haleem since its ramzan and it was so disappointing. Also got the curry leaf chicken appetizer. It was so saucy and more like a curry than an appetizer.

Hyderabad House has both outdoor and indoor seating. There was more space indoors, so we sat inside. They have both booths and tables. Service was good. We ordered the nawabi murgh masala, haleem, lamb chops, goat dum biryani, murgh musallam, bagara rice, daalcha, and dum ka chicken. The lamb chops, goat dum biryani, and murgh musallam were my favorites. We asked the spice level to be lowered, and they did a good job with that. The nawabi murgh masala was okay. Dum ka chicken, haleem, and daalcha were also good.

Majestic Chicken

Horrible place. I ordered haleem, Majestic Chicken and naan here. The haleem was watery consistency and too salty. The Majestic Chicken was too oily. Would never recommend this place.

Menu says it's Haleem. Taste and looks says it's not.

Since Yelp is not allowing me to rate anything lower than 1, so 1 it is. A year and half back, I've had food from Hyderabad house many times and loved all my meals. However this time it was just awful. From the Ramzan menu: We ordered Mutton Mandi, after a while they came back and said Mandi will take 2 more hours. Like what? Next we ordered parrota with goat paya, again they said it will take 2 more hours. Say what again? Next we ordered monagadu chicken biryani which I've had many times earlier. After literally 40mins they served us the saddest, blandest, most mediocre and tasteless biryani ever. For a minute I was afraid if I got covid and my tastebuds got bad coz I wasn't able to taste literally anything. Next we ordered Haleem, and literally after 25mins or so the most mediocre tasting and sad looking watery haleem arrived. It was bad. Not authentic. Too watery and gravy like. Wouldn't recommend. We were extremely hungry and very impatient by this time. After so much of wait time for a basic dish and such bad experience we complained and they offered to swap it out with vijayawada chicken biryani. Again after 20mins the new dish came, tasting equally bad and bland. We are shocked and fed up at this point. The chicken was mixed with some Chinese style sauces and served on bland plain rice. That's it. Hubby and I lost hope, complained once more and left. With barely touched biryani still left on table, we did not even bother to ask for Togo dish. Never gonna visit this place again. Bad service, too much time taking, none of the specials are available, clueless staff, subpar standards. If you cannot deliver ramzan special items on time, please remove them them on the menu. We barely ate anything and it was over 40$ for 2 of us.

5 stars for the food and 4 stars for the ambiance and value. Overall this place is good. We got a lot of food upon a return trip from international travel. Let me try to recall all the things: Channa puri, goat sukha, tikka masala, naan, biryani, and 2 orders of dosa. All the food was super tasty but my personal favorite was the channa puri. So much flavor in the dish that it makes me happy just to think about it. The puri was a little on the oily side but it's expected when dining out at an Indian spot. The prices were a tad on the higher side but nothing to complain about since the food was good. They also offer a 10% discount for paying cash which worked out well since I actually happened to have cash on this visit! The place itself is not fancy but the service is just fine. I'd recommend this spot to get your Indian on in Irving.

Chikoo Shake

The service needs to be improved. The girl taking the orders was not polite and should improve her way of talking to customers. The chikoo Shake was ok. 4/5 Mona gadu Chicken wasn't that great. It was 2/5. Also tried mutton Sukka appetizer - 2/5 Sitafel Shake is something you can try if you don't like anyone and you would want to give them a treat - 0/5 Gulab Jamun with Rabadi - 1/5 never seen a watery rabdi before The place was busy and a decent sit out place. Way to improve service for sure.

Open late. Food was hot and fresh. Everything tasted great. Loud on the inside with the music.

I haven't had vada pav sliders before but the filling is kind of like fried samosa filling without the dough. It's good. The serving size of the biryani was very impressive. You can see from the photo that they fill the container and then add another mound of rice on top of that - basically 2 servings (we took one home). And they didn't skimp on the chicken either! The chicken is cooked perfectly, the sauces are a great complement and this is an excellent dish. The Lunch Thali gives you a lot of bang for your buck and mine included ~5 pieces of fish fry, about the same amount of veg pakora, yogurt dip, chicken curry with rice, 2 different soups, a naan/tortilla thing, and a carrot dessert (like a halwa). All had good flavor and the soups have a nice spicy kick to them. However, since all the dishes for the thali come off the lunch line (ie all premade), the tortilla, fish and pakoras had been sitting out for awhile and not too hot. Had they come out fresh from the fryer, I might have given this experience 5 stars. As it stands, I'll probably be back for lunch anyways - and the thali is available 7 days a week!

Our server was attentive and explained the menu was more "Modern Indian" food versus "Traditional Indian" food. We followed our server's lead and ordered the Bharwan Paneer Tikka along with traditional Somosas for appetizers. The Samosas were tasty but were a bit on the tiny side. The Bharwan Paneer Tikka was the standout dish of the evening. For our main dishes, we ordered the Dal Tadka, Bhindi Do Pyaza, and New Delhi Butter Chicken. We ordered some additional Garlic Naan and White Rice to accompany the main dishes. All the dishes were pretty standard without being too spicy. You might be a little disappointed if you like your Indian Food on the spicier level. We finished off with Rasmali and Kulfi Falooda. The Rasmali was the highlight of dessert. The flavors of pistachio and the accompanying sauce was a great combination. Overall, Sanjh is a fancy Indian Restaurant. I would return for a special event given the upscale atmosphere. You also have to open to interpretations of traditional Indian Cuisine.
