    Chicken kebab and garlic naan

ARE YOU MISSING HYDERABADI HALEEM?? YES, this is the place for everyone 365 days a. They serve the same authentic taste of haleem, which has the same Hyderabad essence! I loved it; Been here multiple times when feeling bored of cooking; I think this is the place next to home food and yummy snacks. Haleem is the best, and their biryanis are yummy. And not to mention their Meat Appetizers and Sweets. I loved the food and will be there next time !!Don't forget to have desserts and paan. The ambiance was good. The service was excellent.

The place was crowded on a late Sunday night, and there weren't any tables available. We had to wait for at least 20 mins to find a table, and there wasn't any waiting area. We had to stand in the middle of the restaurant while waiting. The food was below average. We ordered mutton biryani and apollo fish. The taste of the fish was very bad. It was creamy instead of tangy. The biryani wasn't great either.

It's always biryani time - I mean breakfast, lunch and dinner are all suitable times. I always leave it to the masters to cook it for me though since I dare not attempt it at home myself and sacrifice precious ingredients. So when the craving hit me like a ton of bricks one fine day, I decided on biryani delivery. Didn't want to try the dum chicken biryani which is a staple and was intrigued by an offering they had titled "Vijayawada chicken biryani" - Vijayawada being the name of a city, When I took at look at it for the first time, it looked no different than a normal dum biryani in terms of color of the rice, the chopped onions and cilantro on top - I knew the goodies were on the inside. Dig a little deeper and you find a very generous amount of chicken - done without bones and with a spice blend quite more aggressive in terms of flavor, not heat, than a quintessential Hyderabadi offering. The chicken was moist and succulent, the rice being fragrant and delicious. I did miss a boiled egg, but I didn't dwell on it for too long because the rest of it was so good. Channa Masala - A gravy dish done with chickpeas and with a blend of spices and cilantro was tasty, but uneventful. As was the garlic naan which in this case didn't have a dabbing of garlic oil/sauce coated over it, but rather smaller pieces of garlic strewn through which I did not prefer. I also ordered a portion of a dessert (not pictured here) called Double-ka-meetha which is famous in the region this restaurant's food hails from. What this is is an Indian version of bread pudding - bread soaked in sugar and milk and usually sprinkled with nuts/dried fruit. As with any Indian dessert, it is usually too sweet for someone whose palate is either not accustomed to it / not their preference. But for someone with an extra sweet tooth, it was the perfect end to a meal.

    First time having paan

My friend, who is from Hyderabad, brought me here for dinner last week. Walking in, I got the impression that this was not your typical Americanized Indian buffet style establishment. You know, the ones I love and am familiar with. Like, this is the real deal. There's a big picture of the Charminar on one wall. Charminar translates to four towers and is a beautiful monument located in Hyderabad. Being my first time, I let my friend take the reins. So you order at the counter, they give you a number and bring out the food to you. You get your own paper plates, plastic ware, napkins, and water from a water cooler. You also clear your own table too. There were only a few tables and booths in the dining area, but I noticed a lot of people picking up to-go orders. My friend ordered haleem for us which is usually served during Ramadan. It is a stew made of grains, lentils, and meat that has been cooked practically all day and mixed to form a thick, paste-like consistency. It was brought out in a plastic container and topped with fried onions, mint, a wedge of lime, and a layer of ghee on top. Very rich dish. The appearance was quite unappealing and the texture took a couple of spoonfuls to get used to but the taste was delicious! The lime helps cut the richness and the mint provided a burst of freshness. You can definitely taste the labor involved in this filling dish. We also had chicken biryani, both boneless and bone-in, because well, I love biryani. It did not disappoint and just tasted really authentic and comforting. The chicken was tender and flavorful. After all the rich food, my friend got us paan, which I was told helps with digestion. There are many variations of paan but it essentially is a mixture of mukhwas, nuts, dried fruits wrapped up in betel leaves. I was I instructed to eat the whole thing and chew until I can swallow it. It took me a while to do that! The betel leaves tasted grassy and the filling was sweet with a minty note from the mukhwas. I can't say if it really help my digestive but it was quite interesting! I feel like a lot of people come here particularly for authentic Hyderabad style food. I don't pretend to be an expert on any Indian style food but I do enjoy eating new foods from different cultures. This was a great dining experience. I enjoyed the food and the history and I would definitely come back!

Jesus. Christ. I know it's basic as fuck but this place had the best chicken tikka masala I have ever had. The wait was fairly long and everything came out in to-go dishes but the server was a nice dude. The food was so goddamn good I don't care about the weight or dishes. I will dream of this place until my return to the area

    the inside of a restaurant

Very small amount of food for the money they are asking for Not going anymore One can have a better choice somewhere else

The front lady was really unprofessional. She told us to we cannot sit inside after 1Am, but she let other customers to sit inside and eat there. I would even not give one star .

I visited this place for a weekday lunch with office colleagues. The place specializes in Biryani but also serves other items from Indian cuisine . Here is my perspective about the place. Food (3.5/5) - I tried their Paneer Biryani. It was served with salan and raita. The biryani had good small chunks of paneer and the portion size was good for 2 persons. The taste was slightly better than average. I hated the fact that salan and raita was too watery and they didn't accompany the biryani well. Ambience (2.5/5) - The place has nothing special regarding the ambience. Service (2/5) - It is a self service restaurant. You place your order on the counter and then u get it at table. The cutlery and other items are placed separately. You are supposed to clean the table once u leave it. Since the people who had eaten before us, didn't clean it, we had to clean it by ourselves. Also I had to wait for my order for a good period of time. The overall experience was average.

I haven't had vada pav sliders before but the filling is kind of like fried samosa filling without the dough. It's good. The serving size of the biryani was very impressive. You can see from the photo that they fill the container and then add another mound of rice on top of that - basically 2 servings (we took one home). And they didn't skimp on the chicken either! The chicken is cooked perfectly, the sauces are a great complement and this is an excellent dish. The Lunch Thali gives you a lot of bang for your buck and mine included ~5 pieces of fish fry, about the same amount of veg pakora, yogurt dip, chicken curry with rice, 2 different soups, a naan/tortilla thing, and a carrot dessert (like a halwa). All had good flavor and the soups have a nice spicy kick to them. However, since all the dishes for the thali come off the lunch line (ie all premade), the tortilla, fish and pakoras had been sitting out for awhile and not too hot. Had they come out fresh from the fryer, I might have given this experience 5 stars. As it stands, I'll probably be back for lunch anyways - and the thali is available 7 days a week!

Our server was attentive and explained the menu was more "Modern Indian" food versus "Traditional Indian" food. We followed our server's lead and ordered the Bharwan Paneer Tikka along with traditional Somosas for appetizers. The Samosas were tasty but were a bit on the tiny side. The Bharwan Paneer Tikka was the standout dish of the evening. For our main dishes, we ordered the Dal Tadka, Bhindi Do Pyaza, and New Delhi Butter Chicken. We ordered some additional Garlic Naan and White Rice to accompany the main dishes. All the dishes were pretty standard without being too spicy. You might be a little disappointed if you like your Indian Food on the spicier level. We finished off with Rasmali and Kulfi Falooda. The Rasmali was the highlight of dessert. The flavors of pistachio and the accompanying sauce was a great combination. Overall, Sanjh is a fancy Indian Restaurant. I would return for a special event given the upscale atmosphere. You also have to open to interpretations of traditional Indian Cuisine.
