    Mutton and chicken puff
    Lakshmi A.

Lo CC aged in the prime area and ambience is okayish. Bit difficult to get seat when it's crowded. Self service and order has to be place prior before seating. Biriyani tastes like authentic Hyderabadi style with all flavours infused in their mutton and rice. No spice level determined. Pieces were cooked soft and tender. Family pack is sufficient for 5 adults to complete it at a stretch. Got 3 slices and Alan with raita. Preferred to take water along.

The best biryani in DFW. I had the Chicken Biryani and it is amazing. It has the true hydrabadi taste. The service is good, it can be better. The plate of Chicken biryani is perfect for two or three people. I also tried their chicken sheek kabab roll and it was excellent. For dessert I had kadu ke kheer, it was amazing and tasted out of this world. I finished off my lunch with a cup of chai. I thought it was good. I have eaten at this restaurant a few times and the biryani is always consistent. They also make excellent rumali roti, not many restaurants serve that in the United States. The bread is awesome. The ambiance is ok, and I believe they're working on it. There are other branches in frisco and Plano and they are horrible. The food is to spicy. If you can make the trip to Irving do it.

Ordered Mutton and chicken dum biryani. Mutton biryani taste was good but the chicken in chicken dum was undercooked. And the worst is the service these guys providing here is ridiculously worst. We live in mckinney area and when we went to dfw airport to dropoff parents, we ordered dinner to go here. Ordered food at 7.30pm and we went to this place around 9.30pm, but the idiots at work missed the order though it was in the system. We had a baby and these idiots made us wait for 30+ mins. Finnalt we made home by 10.45pm. Guess what, some idiots who run business dnt care about their customers or customer experience. They just need money. This one is one of those. Finally I found one place to strike off from visiting again in irving area. Very irresponsible, unaccountable idiots.

Ordered lunch for my team around 10:19am for a pickup at 12:30pm. I ordered ahead because we have 30min for our lunch and it already takes us 6min to drive over there. I showed up at 12:22 and let them know I was here and to my surprise they didn't check their order system to see if any orders had came in. No apology and was just told to wait 10min. As soon as I walked about that when we got the email and text saying my order was confirmed. So I knew it was a restaurant issue and not that they didn't get notified. They just didn't check. After waiting almost 20min the food was finally ready. We ordered 2 - chicken tikka masala and 2 - chicken curry and garlic naan. The garlic naan was burnt. The chicken curry was horrible pieces of meat and none of it came with rice??? I paid about $72 for all of this and it was just horrible. Would never go back!

The food is usually really good but today it was off. The Mutton Briyani was bland and the rice was undercooked. The chicken Briyani was the same but they only gave use 4 pieces of chicken in the whole plate. But the worst part was the service. We told them about the chicken Briyani and the manager said he agreed it looked off and told us he would give us more chicken in the plate. He took our plate into the kitchen and we waited for him to come out for almost 30 minutes and when we asked the person at the counter where our food was she said she had no idea and told us the manager had left. Bro took out plate we paid for and never brought it back smh. The service was very poor and VERY SLOW. And my uncle is a regular here and never experienced this type of service or food quality. Hopefully they improve in the future

Even though the playground is usually his favorite spot, he didn't hesitate & insisted we go to Kafi for the brisket. That pretty much sums up how my family feels about this place. We've tried plenty of BBQ spots around Texas, but Kafi keeps bringing us back. The brisket is consistently excellent, and you can tell they use the highest-quality ingredients because the flavor really speaks for itself. Everything on the menu is done well, from the Wagyu and sausage to the burnt ends. It's become one of those rare places that the whole family gets excited about, and that's not something I can say about many restaurants

I follow the chef/owner on Instagram (@kafibbq), and the amount of effort and detail he puts into his craft has resulted in multiple return visits for me. This review is for my latest visit. My Overall Rating - 5 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - Kafi BBQ can be found in a shopping strip in Irving-Valley Ranch. Only opened Friday - Sunday, on my most recent Sunday visit around dinner time, Kafi was packed. The patrons were a great mix of families, BBQ lovers, and those looking for high quality Halal meats. Smoke was in the air. 1 Star. Service - The staff is super friendly and nice. Pro Tip - Go for lunch or before 6 before items are sold out. A few items were sold out on my most recent visit (my fault I arrived at 6:45) and the staff weren't aware of what was available, leading to some confusion, but they were so nice it didn't impact my meal. 1 Star. Food - By now, you've probably read or heard about Kafi's Wagyu Brisket. For me, I love following @kafibbq on Instagram so I can see what Salahodeen is cooking up. On this visit, it was the Brisket Sandwich. First off, the house baked bread roll is soft, but firm enough to hold Kafi's famous brisket on a pile of home made cole slaw and pickles. The result was one of the best BBQ sandwiches I've eaten. The bite was soft, smokey, crunchy, and tart (from the pickles). It was a special, and I'm not sure if Kafi will keep this on the menu, but I hope they do. 2 Stars. Will I Return? - Yes. It's pricey, but it's worth it. While the brisket is great, I suggest you follow them on Instagram to see what's cooking and plan your visit around the specialty items. 1 Star.

The food was served cafeteria style and the seating reminded me of my high school lunchroom. I did not mind the setup; it was just unexpected. The first stop was at the pit master to choose the meat and I made sure to tell him it was my first visit. I got a juicy chopped brisket there. The next stop was where I chose my bread (I again mentioned that it was my first visit) and the person there recommended that I get the jalapeño bun and it was really good. It was not too spicy and added a nice flavor to the sandwich. He also suggested the street corn and the macaroni and cheese and I enjoyed those as well. I had a sprite fountain drink which did not taste that great so I got the sweet tea for my refill and that was really good. All the food was really good and there was plenty for me to take back to the hotel. I liked the fact that they had to-go containers and bags readily available so I didn't have to go back to the register to ask. I didn't try the peach cobbler until a couple days later but it was really good as well. I would definitely dine here if I am in Texas again and I highly recommend this restaurant. Everyone I spoke to was really nice and helpful throughout my visit. There were people walking around and checking on everyone and one disposed of my tray/trash while I was getting a refill and another brought the to-go container and bag to me since I did not see the spot where they were situated. It was a great start to my visit.

KKC has some of the best halal fried chicken I've had in the US, especially in the DFW area. This is one of those comfort meals you crave at 9 PM on a Tuesday that can't be beat. Overall I rate this place 8 s/10. ------------ The Zinger burger (basically a spicy chicken sandwich) is my go to order from here, a solid 8.5/10. They always put a huge chicken patty in there and a generous amount of sauce. You really can't go wrong. Their chicken itself is an 8/10, upgraded to 8.5 with the garlic sauce. They really got the spices down right. I would not recommend the Mac and cheese (5/10), it's very watery and lacked any flavor. The potato wedges were great though. The chicken was extremely delicious. It tasted fresh despite my order being late in the day and the skin was crisp and seasoned so well that I ate all of it. Usually I'll peel the skin off and discard it, but not this time. The white meat was juicy and nothing pink was found. 10/10. Extra biscuits ($1.89)-- These biscuits were some of the best I've ever had. Their outward appearance didn't match how delicious they were. They were soft and had an essence of honey to them. Not too salty and they tasted fresh. **Seating: Looked to have regular table style seating that is closed off due to the virus issue. **Location: It's located next to a bunch of other establishments within a mini strip type of place. I had this place Yelp bookmarked and I had not seen the Toyota Music Factory complex before now, so we drove the mile over. The place was empty at 2pm on a beautiful Saturday - I imagine it is quite busy when anything is playing at the TM venue. We ordered the southern fried chicken sandwich combo (to split) with fries. ($18 including tax and tip) The southern sandwich comes with pimento cheese and I find that hard to resist on any menu! - Splitting the sandwich was plenty of food to not leave you too stuffed. Casey was working the register - and maybe he was helping in the kitchen too. Our sandwich came out pretty quickly and was super hot. It was very crispy and a bit sticky, not too hot, very tasty!! Quite large too - the chicken thigh extended out quite a bit from the bun. The fries were Crinkle shape (my fav!), nice and hot, not too salty. FYI, with a combo you have a choice of only fries or mac and cheese (though there are other side options available al la cart). There was a card on the table to register to win $100 gift cert, so we both registered. Casey came by after to ask us to register, when we said we already had - he said we were entitled to a free banana pudding for doing so. Then he bought out TWO banana puddings. WOOT!! I think the 2nd pudding will be better tomorrow when the vanilla wafers have time to absorb more into the pudding. The free puddings got them the extra star. Casey was great - and really seemed to care that the few customers in the joint were happy and well taken care of. Bathrooms were clean. Couple suggestions: that they had ketchup as a "pump option" - rather than all individual packets. And boy oh boy I would have LOVED a DIET dr. pepper on tap (they had regular).
