    Beef seekh kebab
    Naveen R.

Shalimar Market serves food from the Indian sub-continent (Bengali/Pakistani/Indian). The food is extremely modest in terms of pricing and the quantities are generous. This should allow you to sample multiple dishes without breaking the bank and feeling full. For this particular delivery, I ordered: 1. Chicken biryani - The quantity provided can easily be shared by 2 and even 3 people in one sitting. They did NOT skimp on the amount of meat provided with the biryani rice, it was quite a lot. 2. Shami kebab (beef) - Minced beef patties with lots of spices (but not spicy in terms of heat) was a perfect appetizer. The meat was tender and the flavor intense. 3. Seekh kebab (beef) - I thought the kebabs could have been a bit more juicy, it was too dry. The flavor though was on point. This comes with a choice of steamed rice or naan (I chose the latter and it was amazing). Totally recommend giving them a try if you're looking for something inexpensive and tasty.

I see some negative reviews about customer service, but I never had a bad experience at this place. The food is unapologetically authentic. I regularly do take-aways for the Mutton Kacchi Biryani which is unique and tastes divine! They only make it over the weekend. I also love the fiery fish curries and bhortas. I can't speak for the grocery store but the food at the restaurant is truly amazing!

The Chicken Biryani has been good both times I've had it. The place isn't the greatest, but the people are nice and welcoming :).

Waiting for the To-Go order! Place seems quite and pretty much clean. Authentic indian food!

If you're are looking for Indian Food in Irving then Shalimar Cafe is a good choice besides India Import Cafe which is next to it! 1- you can expect the authentic taste of Indian cuisine! 2- food is also hot and spicy like the Indian tradition. 3- place is neat and clean. No noise at all. Like the quietness around the resturant. 4- Tandoori; chicken leg roasted in tandoor(clay pot) is a must over here

Pakistani food tends to more meat based and less vegetable options. We came here on a Sunday. They has quite a few To Go customers because they have a special on Sunday for breakfast. We got there at 12:30 and our waitress was very sweet. However, she was overwhelmed. There was another table that left due to the long wait. But, when we got the food, it was delicious. The vege samosas were very tasty and quite a bit of spice. We also got The Dera Grill Sampler which had chicken, beef, abs goat chops. The Chicken Tikka Masala was also very tasty. The Naan was light and fluffy. The Chicken Biryani was very tasty as well. This place has good food. But it has issues that every whole in the wall does. Sometimes, it is a little understaffed and the wait can be a little long. I think Pakistan/Indian restaurants are trying to survive in the post Covid era. They used to make most of their business with the buffet. But they are adapting to take out orders and limited staff for in person dining. If you are patient with the above issues, the food is worth it. We will definitely come back.

The crunchy onions that retain structure was absolutely divine. I could eat this everyday. Brisket - we didn't get a fatty piece which I liked because it allowed me to not get full easily Sichuan Lamb Ribs - softest lamb I have ever had (that wasn't in a curry) and the rub on it was not only the perfect amount but a perfect blend Tandoori Turkey - this was really moist and not spicy, great choice for those who do not like red meat Seekh Kabob Sausage - the casing was well done and the flavor profile wasn't overpowering, sometimes desi spices can overtake the meat and that was not the case here (no pun intended) Kochumber salad - well seasoned and I am so glad it is on the menu because you need a fresh element to palate cleanse and cut through bbq fat They open at 11am and the line started forming 10:30am, it moves at a good pace. We were also instructed with what's on the menu and the parking situation which I thought was professional and well organized. We found some seating in the area next to the truck.

"Sabar BBQ: Where the lamb ribs made me want to high five a stranger."…read more TL;DR: Get there early, order the Sichuan Lamb Ribs, let Zain carve you a plate of happiness, and prepare to have your taste buds do a Texas two-step with Pakistani spices. Worth every minute of the wait. This one's climbing my top 50 list faster than a brisket disappears at a family reunion. After one failed mission to Sabar BBQ, where I showed up too late and found an empty pit (and an emptier stomach), I came back like a man on a barbecue pilgrimage. The sun was blazing, the line was growing, and I wasn't about to be left holding nothing but a napkin this time. Pitmaster Zain Shafi runs this blue trailer like a flavor command center. The smell hit me halfway through the line and had me grinning like a kid at the state fair. I made my move when it was my turn, and if you know me, you know lamb is my kryptonite. I ordered the Sichuan Lamb Ribs, then couldn't stop myself from adding brisket and Tandoori Turkey. The sides? Kachumber Salad and Daal Chawaal, because even Uncle Sean needs balance in life. Zain loaded everything up, tossed it all on top of some naan for good measure, and sent me to my table like a champion headed to the winner's circle. The first bite of lamb ribs nearly had me proposing to the pit. Spicy, tender, smoky perfection with a bark that made my heart sing. The brisket was rich and juicy, the turkey came with that tandoori kick that slapped me awake in the best way possible. The sauces just tied the whole thing together like a big barbecue hug. The yogurt mint cilantro sauce was made to cool and lift the brisket and turkey to a whole new level. The red sauce packed a punch and paired with the lamb like it was born for the job. I boxed up some leftovers for my wife, the Side Dish Queen herself, because a man who doesn't bring home naan from Sabar BBQ is a man sleeping on the couch. She confirmed what I already knew: this was next-level barbecue, the kind that earns legends and long lines. Sabar BBQ is only open on weekends, and only fools show up late. I won't make that mistake again. This was stop number 15 on my Texas Monthly Top 50 journey, leaving me with 35 more glorious BBQ pilgrimages ahead before the passport is full and my belt officially waves the white flag. If loving these lamb ribs is wrong, I don't wanna be rib-right.
