Lyari Cafe in Dallas is absolutely worth a stop. Their entire menu looks amazing, and on my first visit I honestly couldn't decide what to try. The lady at the counter helped guide me through the menu. I went with their popular chicken burger since I didn't plan to order too much, and it was exceptionally good, and also larger than expected. I originally came to see if they had Kashmiri tea, but I tried their house chai instead, and it's the best I've had in the city. I definitely plan on returning to try more of their menu. So, where do we start, this was my first time trying Pakistani food! So there's that, I decided to look online for a good spot, Lyari Cafe came up, great reviews and everything looked amazing so I decided to give it a shot. I ordered the following: Goat Biryani - 10/10 Garlic Naan- 10/10 Beef Samosa- 10/10 Chicken Samosa- 10/10 I had a sprite to drink. I got exactly what I was expecting, the service was just outstanding, very friendly, they make you feel like you are at a family gathering, the ambience gave a very ethnic/cultural vibe, they had music on from Pakistan so that just made everything fall into place. I would definitely recommend all items above, even if it's your first time trying this type of food you will not be disappointed. I've ever eaten inside the restaurant, I've always ordered takeout from here and every single time the food has been absolutely fantastic. I've ordered their kebab platter many times. It comes with an assortment of kebabs: behari, malai boti, seekh and beef kebab, on a bed of rice and a naan. It's really filling and delicious. I've also tried their haleem, chapli kebab and nihari. All items were authentic and delicious. This has become my favorite spot for Indian/Pakistani food. read more

Went here for the first time to dine in.. ambience is okayish and the food took around 20 mins to get prepared.. the food however, was just amazing!! Reminded me of authentic Pakistani cuisine!! Incredibly satisfied with this Pakistani meal, which is very hard to find in the area now in days. Service was good with great timing. This is more of a casual Pakistani restaurant, not glitz and glam and no claim to be. The bbq platter was great for the price, and included rice (which was more like plao). The chicken in the bbq platter was incredibly tender and soft, fell apart easily. Same with the rest of the meat. The karahi was amazing and the nihari was good - not the best I've had but my American friends absolutely loved it. The only cons were the chai and mango lassi. The lassi was definitely made from frozen mangos that may have not been ready and the chai was just eh, but it's self serve so you can't expect it to be amazing. All in all, this place is definitely the spot for Pakistani food in Dallas. I will return. If they can perfect their chai - for example making it fresh - they will be perfect. read more

Incident happened on may4th 2026 Monday at lunch . Absolutely unacceptable experience at Lyari Cafe. The staff--especially the man who appeared to be the owner--was shockingly rude, aggressive, and completely unprofessional. We politely asked for a physical menu, and instead of assisting, he snapped at us, told us to get out of the line, and spoke with blatant disrespect. Rather than handling the situation properly, he chose to insult and dismiss us in front of other customers, creating an embarrassing and hostile environment. This wasn't just poor service--it was outright unacceptable behavior. Being busy is not an excuse for treating customers like they don't matter. Customer service here is clearly not a priority, and the lack of basic courtesy is shocking. If you expect to be treated with respect, I strongly recommend avoiding this place. There are far better restaurants that value their customers--this is not one of them. Additionally, there was no clear transparency regarding Zabiha Halal sourcing or certification, which raised concerns for us as customers. read more

As soon as I walked in, I was greeted with a smile. The lady behind the counter was very kind and quickly answered any questions I had about the menu. The inside of the restaurant is very clean and well kept. Plenty of tables to sit at as well. The food itself was incredible!!! I ordered the butter chicken with the naan and an extra side of rice. I also ordered the chicken malai boti. Both were equally amazing and full of flavor. The malai boti had a bit of spice, but even I was able to handle it. My brother made reservations for iftar here so we all went to try it out. The iftar is by reservations only and is buffet style. I have to say, that finally we found a place that has some legit Pakistani karhai. We have tried some other spots and the karhai wasn't up to par and we almost gave up on finding good karhai in the DFW. They had a good variety of items for the buffet and all of them were very authentic for Pakistani food. The place was very clean and setup nice and I really like their restaurant sign outside, it lights up bright at night. Gives it a very colorful and bright vibe. Even though it was buffet, we still had staff come over to ensure we are okay and if we needed anything. Service was great and so was the food. The meat was incredibly tender, the spices were spot on--just like the flavors I remember from back home--and everything tasted super fresh. Have been here a few times and over all I like this place. It is clean, bright and reasonably priced. Food is tasty, quatity is big and their naans are the best! Do try their sesame butter naan, you don't commonly get that in other places. The veg korma and kadhi pakoda were good as well, I wish there was less oil though! Ordered their Mix Grill Platter which was very nicely put together and delivered. The quantity and quality were both good. They place a big naan at the bottom and rice as well as meat on top of it, so on a delivery order the naan loses its texture and crunch but if you're eating at the restaurant I am sure it will be better. read more

I was visiting the area and the name attracted me. However, I was skeptical based on the number of reviews. I saw, "bun kebab" on the menu and the menu and stopped to get it for lunch. It was not the best, may be not freshly made, but the place was very clean and busy. The guys at the counter were friendly and talked me into ordering dinner. Goat portion was small for the price ($21); lots of bones and fatty pieces with very little meat. Also VERY greasy. And VERY spicy. Palak paneer was tasty and more fairly priced for the portion. Also had butter chicken. Again, tasty but a very small amount of (5 small chunks) to sauce ratio. We like some spice but most dishes were just way too spicy for us. Came here based on all the raving Yelp reviews and I'm sad to report this place is just here to jip you. We got 2 orders of the goat karahi- you literally have to snorkel through this to find one piece of meat. I got one piece of meat, cartilage, and bone. My partner got one decent piece of meat and the rest bone. We spent most of the meal eating gravy and the naan. It's such a shame because the dish is flavorful, especially the gravy, but we truly felt swindled by the portion size and lack of meat pieces. We also got samosas which were flavorful, but also small. We also did not appreciate the dirty floors, sewage stink bathrooms, and paper plates and utensils- I'm not at someone's backyard bbq to be given paper plates and plastic utensils. This place needs to step it up and get it together or they won't last long, especially by scamming people like this. read more

Was there over the weekend for Eid Brunch ($24.99/head) I should have walked away once I saw the limited selection of veggie and chicken options options and it's why I'm giving an extra star as I take responsibility for some of my poor experience. I went to taste the dishes they are famous for and was told that alacarte menu was not available. Clearly providing value for price is not a priority. Basic Customer Service service was lacking. No staff came to take away the used flimsy paper plates which continued to pile up. When I went to counter to ask if I could more milk for the dark tea the owner just walked away even though he made eye contact. At the price they are charging for buffet the lassi should have at least been included and wasn't. I returned the lassi when I was asked to pay extra for it. Unlikely to return despite the raving reviews which I have to give the benefit of doubt but this is one less desi place I will be going to again. read more
