Chicken Karara Chicken Malai Boti Dhaga Kabab Bihari Kabab Goat Chops
    Warisha K.

A HIDDEN TREASURE! This is a place for a meat eater who loves flavor. The meat was amazingly marinated and every item had its own flavor. That said my personal favorite was the dhaga Kabab- the meat was incredible soft and insanely flavorful, it was also quite big. Besides that the chicken karara was a favorite of my family. Every single one of the grill items we ordered was phenomenal in its own way and I can't say that enough. Each kabob came with a Naan, we got one roghni Naan which was basically the same thing as a regular naan but with butter and sesame seeds. After we tried half the grill items on the menu and were basically full, we decided to order the biryani and goat karahi. My dad described the biryani of having the smell and taste similar to student biryani he used to have in Pakistan. The karahi was also shockingly good because we were worried that the meat in the karahi wouldn't be cooked enough, which was a problem we have encountered at other restaurants before, but that was not the case at all. The flavors were dancing in our mouths and the meat nearly melting in our mouth. The customer service was also fantastic, our server Michelle was the only one working at the time and she took amazing care of us and even let us order poori to eat with our kabobs since they allowed for more of the flavor to come through. I will say that this is not the most luxurious place in the restaurant world but due to Covid and the place seeming relatively new I think that can be excused.

Stopped in for some chicken samosas appetizers and they were fantastic. Friendly staff. Tasty grub! We ordered out and sat outside around the corner to eat. Was very pleased.

    Chicken Boti Wrap

Went to Dubai hookah and decided to order from Dera Grill. AMAZING FOOD! Their chicken boti wrap is AMAZING! So are their naans! Everything had so much flavor, and their Kheer is probably the best kheer ive had! Not watery, thick and warm too! Perfect flavor! Perfect place to go to if you're really hungry and just want a desi snack. Affordable too, the wrap I had was either $5.99 or $6.99. Can't remember. Haven't tried their actual food yet but definitely will the next time I come to Dubai Hookah!

    Beef bihari and chicken karara

Stopped by for a late lunch, place was quiet. Overall clean place and the staff was friendly. Tandoori items were really good including chicken karara and beef bihari. Naan were slightly overdone but still good. Chicken Biryani was lacking in spice and flavor though. I'll stick to the kababs next time, and yes I'd go back.

I haven't had vada pav sliders before but the filling is kind of like fried samosa filling without the dough. It's good. The serving size of the biryani was very impressive. You can see from the photo that they fill the container and then add another mound of rice on top of that - basically 2 servings (we took one home). And they didn't skimp on the chicken either! The chicken is cooked perfectly, the sauces are a great complement and this is an excellent dish. The Lunch Thali gives you a lot of bang for your buck and mine included ~5 pieces of fish fry, about the same amount of veg pakora, yogurt dip, chicken curry with rice, 2 different soups, a naan/tortilla thing, and a carrot dessert (like a halwa). All had good flavor and the soups have a nice spicy kick to them. However, since all the dishes for the thali come off the lunch line (ie all premade), the tortilla, fish and pakoras had been sitting out for awhile and not too hot. Had they come out fresh from the fryer, I might have given this experience 5 stars. As it stands, I'll probably be back for lunch anyways - and the thali is available 7 days a week!

Our server was attentive and explained the menu was more "Modern Indian" food versus "Traditional Indian" food. We followed our server's lead and ordered the Bharwan Paneer Tikka along with traditional Somosas for appetizers. The Samosas were tasty but were a bit on the tiny side. The Bharwan Paneer Tikka was the standout dish of the evening. For our main dishes, we ordered the Dal Tadka, Bhindi Do Pyaza, and New Delhi Butter Chicken. We ordered some additional Garlic Naan and White Rice to accompany the main dishes. All the dishes were pretty standard without being too spicy. You might be a little disappointed if you like your Indian Food on the spicier level. We finished off with Rasmali and Kulfi Falooda. The Rasmali was the highlight of dessert. The flavors of pistachio and the accompanying sauce was a great combination. Overall, Sanjh is a fancy Indian Restaurant. I would return for a special event given the upscale atmosphere. You also have to open to interpretations of traditional Indian Cuisine.

However, Saturday night our usual place was unexpectedly closed, so we tried India 101. Why had we deprived ourselves for so long!? We were so pleased with our dining experience and with the variety and quality of the food. We walked in, were quickly greeted, led to a table, and were provided ice water. The hostess told us we could grab plates and utensils and enjoy the buffet at our own pace. We're vegetarian and found many dishes to eat: palak/saag paneer, paneer tika masala, pakoras, veg biryani, veg Manchurian, naan, roti, pani puri, samosas, mango lassi, a soda fountain, raita, and on and on and on. Your dirty dishes are quickly taken away by efficient staff, so grab a fresh plate when you return (and you WILL return) to the buffet. The establishment is clean, the music isn't too loud, and the buffet never felt too crowded or rushed. We were so pleased and look forward to returning. Adult Buffet is $25/person - well worth the cost. The ambiance is casual and there were singles, couples, families, and groups of friends dining. You'll feel comfortable if you go alone or with others. Enjoy!
