I ordered couple dishes from grubhub and the food portion were very huge and I enjoyd it throughly. But the samosas i ordered were not cooked properly,the wrapper seems to be uncooked. however the size of samosa was wat i was exactly looking for. I ate all stuffings other than wrapper. My family and I went there (Irving location) for a dinner party during Ramadan and the place was hot and stuffy and we immediately started feeling sick. I'm not sure if the air wasn't working (and this was summertime!), but the heat from the grill came into the party room and the environment was so stuffy that guests started to leave because they felt so sick! To make matters worse, when the hosts complained to the owner, the owner came out to the party room to publicly scream at the hosts about the issue and humiliated not only the hosts, but the guests as well. The food that we tried just to be polite to our hosts tasted good I will say - but because of the attitude of the owner, I do not think we will ever come back or speak well of this place to anyone. Went there for brunch with my wife on a Saturday. The food was excellent , a lot of meat choices. I was not too impressed with the service. We kept hearing a very loud woman yelling and screaming in the kitchen without any regards for customers. If it wasn't for her I would give this place 5 stars. I am an avid Pakistani food consumer. I have a favorite Pakistani place in almost all major cities in the US. Dera Grill is my favorite for two simple reasons; their naan and their chicken (or goat) karahi. Their naan is the best I have had, comparable to most tandoors in Pakistan, or to a select few places in the US like Sabari in Chicago. Served hot, their naan is an amazing treat no matter what you eat with it. The karahi is made fresh and on most occasions the meat has perfect tenderness, temperature and is cooked all the way up to the bone. (There have been some times when i have left the meat alone because it is still a little raw). Secondly you can feel the tomatoes, green chilies and a fairly simple spice combination which is always refreshing and yet not too overwhelming. I have also tried their tandoori options including the Dhaga Kebab (which I'd rate 3/5); Lamb Chops (4/5); Behari Kebab (3/5) and Chicken Kebab (3/5). I am not a big tandoori meat fan. Their Biryani tends to be a little under-cooked and you can tell that the rice is not fully cooked. (I am not a big Biryani fan either). Their weekend Brunch is delicious, has all the right items on the menu and never fails to make me want to keep on eating. You have got to try it. :) read more

Honestly, it's the best grilled Pakistani food in metroplex if you can overlook service and ambiance. If you go early before 8 pm, rush is minimal. Their best dishes are chicken or beef seekh kabaabs, chapli kababs, bihari kababs and the Karai Ghost Curry all awesome. They provide naan (flat bread) with meals. Try carrot halwa for dessert. The lunch Buffet was good and reasonably priced. I went there with some cooworkers for lunch. The front door opens in to the ktichen area. I got really nervous because there was an unpleasant mildew smell. But, it was not in the dinning area. I may be a little over sensitive, but they are loosing a star because of it. Serving Quantity is a bit less compared to similar restaurants in Irving. Biryani was too much oily. Chicken items were good to taste. POOR SERVICE !! NOT SATISFIED !! We went to this restaurant a week ago. The service was not as good as other indian restaurant in Dallas. We ordered different items. And after 20 minutes the guy served us except one item that I have ordered. He said that item is not available. Why the hell he didn't tell us when he took the order? or atleast he could tell us shortly after we placed the order. The surprising fact was that he didn't even wait to take a replacement order. I have to wait for him to come back at us and then I placed the order for me. by the time I got my food, everybody was done with eating theirs. Very very poor service. The owner is very rude. an acquaintance invited me and 75 of her friends and family for a dinner party. She booked the big room and paid in advance.when we went there she told us that the owner took another booking for 150 ppl and gave them the big room. He gave us this place that was hot and sticky all night. When the host approached the owner he started screaming at her in public. It was just so frustrating to witness something like that. The owner did not mention anything about the room before people even got there and now he was threatening to kick all 75 ppl out . I hope this guy gets what he deserves as the host looked like she was about to cry all night. She would have called the cops if she didnt have 75 ppl waiting to eat on her back. My advice to ppl who are looking to throw parties and catering from this guy .. keep a close eye and be vigilant. He has no business ethics and will backstab you for a quick buck read more

I went there twice so far. In both cases, I got invited by friends to attend their parties. I had a good experience the first day. However, the 2nd day was really bad. The food was ok and probably better than any ordinary restaurant. However, the service was really bad. I was a guest at this party when the owner of the restaurant misbehaved with another guest for requesting to look at the temperature of the room. Instead of having a good time in the party, everyone was tense. It ruined the party for the host. I think it is very risky for anyone to choose this place to throw a party. read more

Don't walk but rather run away from this place! We went here for a dinner party for 70 people and the first thing that strikes you upon entering is the heat! To save money they kept the A/C at 90 degrees and combine that with the heat from the kitchen and you know that it's as hot as outside(Texas weather). When we approached the owner about the temperature of the place he kept on lying to us saying that he turned the A/C on, when clearly we could see the thermostat where the temp was still 90 degrees. Seeing the host getting frustrated one of her guest went to the owner one more time and told him, he went ballistic and started screaming at him and asked everyone to get out and that he wouldn't give us food using foul words. When the guest threatened to call the cops for his aggressive behavior, the owner calmed down then and served the food. The food is horrible in every aspect, the place is hot and dirty and service is non-existent. I am shocked as to how this place is even in business!! The city of Irving needs to shut down such establishments. It is the owner's behavior that makes us want to go back to the restaurants no matter how good or bad it is. But this man has no sense of manners or courtesy. He will not think twice before turning his back on you. A hall was reserved for the party, but he turned around and gave it to someone else, leaving a tiny room for all of us. This man is impolite and cannot keep a damn commitment!!!! read more

We order take-outs from Dera Grill once every 2 weeks or so. We always go for Chicken Malai Kabab and Chicken Sheek Kabab. Their kababs are awesome, well seasoned and made in the tandoor. Had the worst experience ever for trying to redeem my valid groupon here. They were so rude in a sense of interrogating me for trying to scam them getting an illegal. Its not even a coupon, its a valid pre-paid voucher, which is kind of norm these days. If they don't want to sell that discount groupon, then better not do it instead of doing in such cheating way. And, the food was not that great either.
