Pricey Daily Buffet is all chicken or vegtable, why would you want to pay $9.00 to eat chicken.........NO regular menu and food is good but pricey. Bihari kebab was a very small portion for the price. read more

The place is no where close to what you would expect based on the Reviews and Website. The waitress was good but was overworked and the place is just a mess. Out of the 6 items we ordered nothing was good except pakoras and to our surprise they had run out of chutney's for the pakoras. We are never going back to this place again Dera management please stop misleading people by your advertisments on funasia. read more

My fav spot in Big D for my curry fix. The kabob are excellent. I only do lunch buffet. Usually place is not very full. Service is slow but hey its a buffet. Easy parking its in a strip mall. Little funky to find but price is right ,fast, and tasty. read more

6 of us went for dinner, pretty hungry hungry. Unfortunately, we left also, pretty hungry. Perhaps that was the wrong day to go, but I doubt we'll ever go back. We sat at three tables, each was wobbly, so we just gave up after our third attempt. The server was in a foul mood, with a standard "that's not available today" response to everything we asked for, including, unbelievably, steamed rice. Who runs out of rice? read more

This is my go to place for Chicken Karara which is quite different than other restaurants. If you have not visited this place I would recommend you to go soon. Nice small place with awesome grilled food. read more

My family and I went there (Irving location) for a dinner party during Ramadan and the place was hot and stuffy and we immediately started feeling sick. I'm not sure if the air wasn't working (and this was summertime!), but the heat from the grill came into the party room and the environment was so stuffy that guests started to leave because they felt so sick! To make matters worse, when the hosts complained to the owner, the owner came out to the party room to publicly scream at the hosts about the issue and humiliated not only the hosts, but the guests as well. The food that we tried just to be polite to our hosts tasted good I will say - but because of the attitude of the owner, I do not think we will ever come back or speak well of this place to anyone. Customer service DOES matter. read more

I ordered couple dishes from grubhub and the food portion were very huge and I enjoyd it throughly. But the samosas i ordered were not cooked properly, the wrapper seems to be uncooked. however the size of samosa was wat i was exactly looking for. I ate all stuffings other than wrapper. Also I had ordered qeenth ka meetha their desert and was kind of american style dessert. Would say just fine. should hav ordered smth else but other than my on trays were so delicious. read more

Went there for brunch with my wife on a Saturday. The food was excellent , a lot of meat choices. I was not too impressed with the service. We kept hearing a very loud woman yelling and screaming in the kitchen without any regards for customers. If it wasn't for her I would give this place 5 stars. She could be the reason why this place was completely dead. read more

I am an avid Pakistani food consumer. I have a favorite Pakistani place in almost all major cities in the US. Dera Grill is my favorite for two simple reasons; their naan and their chicken (or goat) karahi. Their naan is the best I have had, comparable to most tandoors in Pakistan, or to a select few places in the US like Sabari in Chicago. Served hot, their naan is an amazing treat no matter what you eat with it. The karahi is made fresh and on most occasions the meat has perfect tenderness, temperature and is cooked all the way up to the bone. (There have been some times when i have left the meat alone because it is still a little raw). Secondly you can feel the tomatoes, green chilies and a fairly simple spice combination which is always refreshing and yet not too overwhelming. I have also tried their tandoori options including the Dhaga Kebab (which I'd rate 3/5); Lamb Chops (4/5); Behari Kebab (3/5) and Chicken Kebab (3/5). I am not a big tandoori meat fan. Their Biryani tends to be a little under-cooked and you can tell that the rice is not fully cooked. (I am not a big Biryani fan either). Their weekend Brunch is delicious, has all the right items on the menu and never fails to make me want to keep on eating. You have got to try it. :) read more

Horrible food. I ordered the goat paya curry, and it was not goat, it was pork. The dish was all bone and fat, no meat. I was ripped off. I will never eat there again. read more

Honestly, it's the best grilled Pakistani food in metroplex if you can overlook service and ambiance. If you go early before 8 pm, rush is minimal. Their best dishes are chicken or beef seekh kabaabs, chapli kababs, bihari kababs and the Karai Ghost Curry all awesome. They provide naan (flat bread) with meals. Try carrot halwa for dessert. This is cooked on open grill vs. tandoor (closed pit oven) more popular with N. Indian style cuisine. Bon Appetite! read more

Great BBQ!!! Although it takes a little while to get your food....but it ends up being worth the wait! read more

Did not like. Went there on a Monday around 2 pm, their lunch buffet closes at 3 pm. Did not have much options in the buffet. The biryani is somewhat good but the rest are not up to expectations. Food was not at all good. If you are a vegetarian do not attempt to be here. Will not visit this place again and do not recommend at all. read more

The lunch Buffet was good and reasonably priced. I went there with some cooworkers for lunch. The front door opens in to the ktichen area. I got really nervous because there was an unpleasant mildew smell. But, it was not in the dinning area. I may be a little over sensitive, but they are loosing a star because of it. Other than that, the food was good. read more

Serving Quantity is a bit less compared to similar restaurants in Irving. Biryani was too much oily. Chicken items were good to taste. What intrigued me was the staff bringing in the bill while I was still in the middle of the meal and also asking me to pay at that moment. Maybe, they were in a hurry to close. read more

Food was ok but service was like Awfullllll since the time we entered in restaurant Food trays were empty and even after telling them food did not come and we ended up leaving the place with incomplete lunch. I told same to lady at counter but she also ignored so Paid money for getting nothing . I will never go again read more

The food was ok, I think they could have used less salt and it would have been better. But the service was pathetic. We only had one server and it was toooo slow. There were only a couple of tables and it took about 30 minutes for the food to arrive and that too in bits and pieces. Went with a friend who recommended it highly and he got embarrassed. read more

POOR SERVICE !! NOT SATISFIED !! We went to this restaurant a week ago. The service was not as good as other indian restaurant in Dallas. We ordered different items. And after 20 minutes the guy served us except one item that I have ordered. He said that item is not available. Why the hell he didn't tell us when he took the order? or atleast he could tell us shortly after we placed the order. The surprising fact was that he didn't even wait to take a replacement order. I have to wait for him to come back at us and then I placed the order for me. by the time I got my food, everybody was done with eating theirs. Very very poor service. I will never recommend anyone to go there again. read more

The owner is very rude. an acquaintance invited me and 75 of her friends and family for a dinner party. She booked the big room and paid in advance.when we went there she told us that the owner took another booking for 150 ppl and gave them the big room. He gave us this place that was hot and sticky all night. When the host approached the owner he started screaming at her in public. It was just so frustrating to witness something like that. The owner did not mention anything about the room before people even got there and now he was threatening to kick all 75 ppl out . I hope this guy gets what he deserves as the host looked like she was about to cry all night. She would have called the cops if she didnt have 75 ppl waiting to eat on her back. My advice to ppl who are looking to throw parties and catering from this guy .. keep a close eye and be vigilant. He has no business ethics and will backstab you for a quick buck read more

Can't comment for all the other food items on the menu, but they have the best Biryani in Irving.

I went there twice so far. In both cases, I got invited by friends to attend their parties. I had a good experience the first day. However, the 2nd day was really bad. The food was ok and probably better than any ordinary restaurant. However, the service was really bad. I was a guest at this party when the owner of the restaurant misbehaved with another guest for requesting to look at the temperature of the room. Instead of having a good time in the party, everyone was tense. It ruined the party for the host. I think it is very risky for anyone to choose this place to throw a party. read more

The food was fresh and delicious! I looked over the ratings and now I'm glad I did. Best buffet I've ever had!!

Food is really good I liked their Nihari. I was not to happy with the waiter service at their carrollton location. Needs more energetic and people friendly waiters. The girl was making faces while serving. read more

Worst place to eat. Employees werent helpful, took forever to bring my food. And didnt even care to apologize. The owner was unprofessional. I ordered a dish and after 10 minutes of waiting he came and told me that they ran out didnt bother to apologize. They even replaced my friends Nihari dish to Korma. I am never going back, if do want to eat good indian food, go somewhere else. read more

quick stop for good clean buffet..!

Don't walk but rather run away from this place! We went here for a dinner party for 70 people and the first thing that strikes you upon entering is the heat! To save money they kept the A/C at 90 degrees and combine that with the heat from the kitchen and you know that it's as hot as outside(Texas weather). When we approached the owner about the temperature of the place he kept on lying to us saying that he turned the A/C on, when clearly we could see the thermostat where the temp was still 90 degrees. Seeing the host getting frustrated one of her guest went to the owner one more time and told him, he went ballistic and started screaming at him and asked everyone to get out and that he wouldn't give us food using foul words. When the guest threatened to call the cops for his aggressive behavior, the owner calmed down then and served the food. The food is horrible in every aspect, the place is hot and dirty and service is non-existent. I am shocked as to how this place is even in business!! The city of Irving needs to shut down such establishments. It is the owner's behavior that makes us want to go back to the restaurants no matter how good or bad it is. But this man has no sense of manners or courtesy. He will not think twice before turning his back on you. A hall was reserved for the party, but he turned around and gave it to someone else, leaving a tiny room for all of us. This man is impolite and cannot keep a damn commitment!!!! read more

Great grilled food in their buffet - Tue to Sundays. I just go there for that ! Can do a better job with the upkeep of the place - but the grilled food is so good that i overlook that ! read more

We order take-outs from Dera Grill once every 2 weeks or so. We always go for Chicken Malai Kabab and Chicken Sheek Kabab. Their kababs are awesome, well seasoned and made in the tandoor. Their rotis and raita are good too. I would not recommend their buffet. But for take-outs, this restaurant is awesome. read more

This is probably one of the worst restaurants I have tried in recent memory. The staff were rude, the place was not clean and the food was worse. We went for Iftar dinner and the place was hot like an oven. The staff had no clue how to run a real restaurant buffet. read more

Had the worst experience ever for trying to redeem my valid groupon here. They were so rude in a sense of interrogating me for trying to scam them getting an illegal. Its not even a coupon, its a valid pre-paid voucher, which is kind of norm these days. If they don't want to sell that discount groupon, then better not do it instead of doing in such cheating way. And, the food was not that great either. There are lot of choices in the area better than them in all aspects, like Qarni or Spice n Rice etc. Hope the owner reads this & realizes that his business cannot go long if based on rude & immoral behavior! read more

Good food ... WORST service and STINKY dine in area . do yourself a favor and stay away from this place.

Read all the review and was excited to visit this place. I have been to other 3 other restaurants - Texas king, Irving, Al Markaaz, Carrollton and Lal quila, Carrollton. I would say this one is the costliest and the worst. The buffet is priced $10 which is not worth it. It was all chicken - no beef, no mutton, no biriyani, no nihari. I was dissappointed. The entrance was through kitchen and there was bad smell. Inside it was ok read more

went their twice, initially when it opened, expecting some great grilling.. the chicken was raw the second time around and the server failed many times on our call. the food was good first time and then something just went wrong second time.. giving them a benefit of doubt for the moment will come back to see if anything changes. read more
