I drove 16 miles to visit this restaurant after checking their Yelp listing, which clearly mentioned their hours as 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM. I arrived at 1:00 PM, excited for a good meal -- only to find the doors locked. I tried calling them, but there was no answer. There was no sign on the door, no voicemail update, nothing to indicate why they were closed. Disappointed and confused, I ended up dining at Urbano Enchilado nearby. That said, I'm not here to leave a one-star review. I understand that life happens -- this could very well be a small, family-run business. Maybe there was a family emergency. Maybe they're going through something difficult -- even as simple as a utility issue. We've all been there. But a small note on the door, or an updated message on their phone line, would have gone a long way in showing customers that they care. It's not the closure that upset me -- it's the silence. Whatever the reason may have been, I genuinely wish them well. I hope everything is okay on their end, and I sincerely hope to return another time when the doors are open and welcoming -- just as I imagine they usually. read more

I went there several months ago and was not impressed. I tried to order the Vada Pav, but they said it was no longer available and they hadn't updated the menu. I ordered another entree and wasn't very impressed. I decided to go back again today because they have on their website and on their printed menu that they have a Lunch Thali. When I ordered the meal, the waitress said they no longer have it on weekdays and it's only available on weekends. No notice on their website or on their printed menu that it is only available on weekends. Unfortunately this is twice that I've been told that items on the menu are not available. It was our first time here and we heard about some great dishes. We were not disappointed! The Hyderabadi Goat Curry was very good! We were not super spicy eaters so we should have toned down the heat level. Meat was tender, and the gravy was well seasoned and presented in a nice round dish. The chicken tikka masala was equally enjoyed with tender chicken breast in savory simmered gravy. What topped it off was the best ever garlic naan! It was made thin, crispy bottom, and covered with freshly chopped aromatic garlic and sprinkled with little green onion. We couldn't get enough of it and had to order another. The food was all presented very nicely and on elegant, metal round dishes accompanied by gold colored silverware that made our experience top-notch. The server was pleasant, polite and attentive. The dining area had booth and tables in the middle. We were there for lunch and only saw two other parties during our stay. The restaurant is nestled at the end of a grocery store shopping strip so it took a little bit to find it. It's worth going back for the curries and naan. read more

Being in flower mound, I thought of trying this place. I honestly don't recommend this place. if you know what and how Indian food tastes don't even try this. Even though ambience is good, food quality is worst. We ordered chicken Biryani and one more chicken dish. Both dish, chef does not know how to cook. They just added frozen chicken pieces to already cooked gravy. Was feeling like eating raw chicken taste. For Biryani, added same gravy to fried rice. Looks like chef was not an Indian origin. I'm very surprised to see this place rated so high. Was the food fine? Yeah, sure. But the serving sizes, good lord. I paid $26 for a CUP of butter chicken, a CUP or rice, and some garlic naan. This is the least amount of food I've ever got from any Indian restaurant. I'm incredibly picky about my Indian food (as an American) and decided to give this place a try today. Looks like I'll be going to Ista on Morris instead like usual (it's on the same street), until this place decides to give us what we actually pay for. $26 is too much money for a snack, and the place was a graveyard when I went there, I was the only customer at 5pm. Super lucky to have Cafe India here -- delicious Indian food right next to Kroger in Flower Mound! Menu has plenty of options and they customize to your spice level preference. We absolutely loved the Garlic naan and Tandoori chicken -- also the sides of mint chutney and yogurt sauces were light and fresh with bright flavors. Ask for the Butter Chicken -- super tasty! We will be back to try other items -- of note: pretty blues and creams interior -- modern clean look and can accommodate big groups -- perfect for family gatherings and special date nights too. They have a nice take away counter at front that offers extra bite size snacks and baked goods -- everything hand made and super tempting -- perfect to bring home for the kids! A total scam. The food is good if you go in person but the service is terrible. Placed an order for pick up and when I arrived, they said someone already picked it up. I showed them my app that I placed a pick up order and I hadn't picked it up but they refused to remake it even though it was their mistake to give it to a random person. What's worse is that they originally told me they would remake it, then they made me wait a few minutes, and then changed their minds and said they couldn't. Won't be going back here! EDIT: the owner of the restaurant reached back out to us the following day apologizing and promised us that he would remake our order. I appreciate this level of customer service and hope that this same level of care gets passed down to his staff. Will update once I confirm they follow up on their promise! read more

Does not happen often, but we made the mistake of doing a take out from the restaurant this weekend. This was our first time here and we should have heeded the warning signs, when we could not reach the establishment over the phone and when we finally did, was handled by someone who could barely communicate! While picking up the food at the counter, I noticed the restaurant open with the TV monitors running but with all lights out and not a single customer there. Indian food is generally known for stimulating one's senses from its sheer aroma, richness and array of mesmerizing flavors. Sadly, this fare was insipid, bland, tasteless and overpriced to say the least! Needless to say, the whole experience was uninspiring with money not well spent. Its a one and done for me on this joint. There are a couple of hangouts a mile away that serve far better fare. read more

Excellent, unique selection of Indian street food dishes. The Chicken 65 was tender and well seasoned. The Chicken Biryani was likewise meticulously assembled and delicious.
