This place it tucked away INSIDE the market. You think when you are only ordering 2 items - AND you wrote them down exactly as they were on the online menu - word for word, and the cashier rings you up based on looking at that very piece of paper in his hands, AND you also spoke the exact words in person to him, they would get it right...but nope. I have been thinking about this samosa sandwich since my husband moved to Irving (and his condo is only 500 feet of this place as the crow flies) - today was the day. I went there in person, not trusting them to get it right by phone order, AND not ordering online so that Grub Hub doesn't take 25% of the money I spend. Once home and opening my bag, I was displeased to find plain (lukewarm) samosas (NOT a sandwich) and the 2 piece Vada Pac plate which was correct. As others have said - the cashier is less than enthusiastic and (obviously) could not give a crud about his job. I realize this was not a big order, BUT it was a "test" order and I was hoping it would be great, and become our regular place. I thought the stuffing was a little bland, and needed some more aggressive spicing. Gujrati daal was fine (slow cooked lentils) and went well with the ordinary rotis I ordered. The aloo-gobi which is a dish prepared with potatoes and cauliflower was pretty good, I thought they did their spice game well. Lots of cilantro always brightens any dish and this rendition had that in plenty. Lacks basic food safety and sanitation. They sell roti's (thepla style) made in house that are sold in ziploc bags. I asked the lady selling them if they were fresh and she said yes. She opened up one of the bags and pinched off a tiny piece of the roti and offered me a taster and then resealed the bag and put it back in pile that was sale!!!! She had gloves on but used them to handle food and monetary transactions without changing them. Also certain food that should be refrigerated are not. Where are the Irving food inspectors when we need them? Bags should be safety sealed and food should have a best before dates. read more

Mini Gujarati thali: Was great. The dal was very authentic Gujarati dal- a little bit sweet sour. Combo #2: it consists of 4 chapatis + 2 curries, Raita, pickle. Amazing, wish they can open monthly membership plan because I order food from here almost every other day as i m working woman and mom of a kid we all eat rajwadi food happily and test's always same mild and truly amazing. They are very good. 3 mini cocktail samosas for $1 which is pretty decent. Very crisp and the pea potato filling was great too! They were a total hit at the party! Rajwadi offers a great food choice with meal combos. They are tasty, fresh and served piping hot. Much better than established Indian restaurants. We have ordered rotis (chapati) to go for so many times! They make rotis as you order. They aren't premade, which guarantees you fresh pack every time you order. Good sized, fresh, soft flavorful rotis.... what's not to like. Nom nom. They tolerate me being a little clueless on how to pronounce what I am ordering. I appreciate the owner helping me order vegan for my spouse. Super tasty. A little salty, but I think u are supposed to do the curries as a dipping sauce to their parathas and clove scented rice. And maybe making it vegan leaves out an ingredient that mellows that salt. I tend to not leave reviews however, I was forced to leave one as I don't like to be cheated. I ordered .5 pound salans (curry) and it was .35 pounds. I went back and ordered another .5 pound salan and that TOO was around .37pounds. Both times I used proper food weighing machine. It is obvious that they cheat their customers by giving less product. 1 star is for the quantity of entree that they give in the combo. For the price they have, the quantity of entree they give is pretty low. The entree that I got in Combo #1 (They have Combo by the numbers, #1, #2 and so on) was hardly sufficient for 3 rotis that they give. Plus they give rice also. How am I suppose to eat plain rice? This place opened about 2 1/2 years ago and was suggested to me by a colleague. Indeed it was pretty refreshing at first and a great concept: mom and pop style hole in the wall restaurant serving fresh snacks and home-cooked food ( read curries, gujarati food etc.) , along with the supermarket. The whole idea was this, that the wife of the owner paid attention to the cooking in the kitchen and that made it home-style and fresh. I feel after about an year or two of its opening the place sucks: 1) They have cleverly put up digital menu displaying the food items and the prices keep going up and up, like about 50 cents every 2 months. It seems like you are being ripped off every time you go there. 2) Their quality keeps going down, the curries all taste same, kadai paneer comes with lots of gravy, seems like the same curry paste and just green peppers and paneer added to the gravy instead of paneer and peas for the "mutter paneer". The curries are also very spicy ( I prefer mild spices), so this place is not suited for folks who would like to customize their spice level. Pros: Sometimes when you are very hungry and want a quick snack, you can go for Samosas or Dhokla ( it is pretty good, if it is freshly prepared). Tell them not to smear it with lots of oil. To me it seems like all goods things, this place has gone down and has settled at an equilibrium point, where the owners have to do something drastic to get the clientele back. read more

We stopped by this little restaurant for some chaat on a Monday. The Kachori chaat (our first order) was absolutely delicious. This encouraged us to order a few more items off the menu. The Dabheli, aloo tikki, papdi chaat & sabudhana vada weren't much to speak of. The masala chai was excellent as well.
