I regularly visit this place for sweets and typically order the same favorites. They're consistently fresh and delicious. Weekends tend to be very busy, so I usually get my order to go. August 22, 2025 review: ------ Back in the India, I've always been a fan of Bikanerwala. I had heard that there was Bikanerwala in east coast but had never tried in USA before. Being in Austin, I was definitely craving for food north Indian food so thought of making a trip to the Irving, TX. Food: 10/10 Ambience: 10/10 Food prep time/service: 10/10 I reached there on a Friday around 11:50am, pretty empty but people started walking in right after we got the table. It's a fast food restaurant so basically you place the order first and grab a table and they will call your order number. We got chola bhatura, masala chai and Raj kachori. The Raj kachori came pretty quick and was full of flavors. I loved it completely. It was crunchy and had well mix of chutney at the same time. Chai was ok, it was pre made just like any other restaurant. Chola bhatura was amazing. Bhatura was being made just next to the food window. So as soon they were coming out, they were out on a plate and served. Bhatura was not oily, and almost every single one of them was fluffy. I saw chola bhatura plate on almost every single table (at least 6 tables were occupied at that time) Chole was also good, little bit on spicy side. It came with a side of pickle packet, onion and cucumber, fried mirchi. Most of folks were also trying their Thali. We got the deluxe thali which came with dal makhni, Shahi paneer, mix veg, Raita, pickle packet, onion, cucumber and lemon, rice, a sweet (which was mathura peda in our plate) and 2 breads (naan, laccha parantha). They can provide to-go box if you have some item leftover from Thali. None of item disappointmented at all. We got also the sweets,Rasmalai and some dry snacks for to-go. You can choose, mix and make your own box. Price for sweet is around $20 per pound. For 1 pound, we got 12 pieces of sweets platter. Overall restaurant was clean, water and utensils were there. Restroom were also clean. This place is around 1 year old but have been maintained good. read more

Very Busy!!!! Known for the Chole Batura! And of course Mithai! Despite the crowds, the service was efficient. You have to find your spot before placing order. And they use ticket/number system (counter or kitchen) They have a good sized menu but you should only order the CHOLE BATURA!!! It really was great- the rest of the items were sub par...you will Be disappointed :-( The Mithai is also a must! It's a bit pricey but honestly there are not that many places giving this kind of quality! My fav was the Mung Halwa! I stopped by this place after work since I was craving some Indian food and I didn't realize they opened a new Indian place in my neck of the woods. To try them out, I ordered a few things including the Pani Puri and the Chole Bathura (which other reviewers mention was a must get). The food was great and the aesthetic is pretty nice. It was pretty empty when I went but that's not surprising seeing how it was Wednesday afternoon, after lunch but before dinner. **vegetarian review** Pretty average. I got the mattar kulcha - which I expected to be stuffed with peas kulcha and it was more like kulcha on the side of usar. The chole bhatura was also average. The new franchise of Bikanervala did not meet expectations. Tried aloo chaat, pav bhaji, samosa chaat and aloo puri. The chaat & food both were mediocre. The sweets were better than the food but did not live up to the original flavors of Bikanervala in other locations. The restaurant is new with a good ambience & decor. Food service was quick but getting sweets to-go took a long time. Pricing : High, given the portion size and mediocre flavors. Will I return? : Only for sweets. read more

Wanted to try this newly opened Noth Indian restaurant. Had heard from friends that it is quite busy at dinner, so went for early week-day lunch. There was only one other table at 11.30, so no issues getting a table. It feels very clean, bright and has good energy as you enter. It is order-at-the-counter type of place. The cashier was welcoming and greeted us with smiles. We ordered chhole bhature (single), cauliflower paratha and samosas. Food was freshly made and the spice level was perfect for us. It came out in a very reasonable time. Taste and quantity of food was good but not exceptional. The display of traditional Indian sweets and desserts was very tempting, we will just have to back another time to try those out :) read more

Everything was amazing, from their top notch cholle bhature to the flavorful masala chai. The service was excellent and truly exceptional. The staff (Abraham and counter staff) were friendly, attentive, and accommodating. I asked to swap my Coke for chai at the last minute and they made it happen right away. Not worth the hype! Everything was mediocre! We ordered pani puri, pav bhaji, a garlic naan & dal makhani. The puris served were dry and did not had the freshness & pani was store bought and topped with boondhi! Pav was dry and lukewarm & equally the bhaji served was lukewarm topped with a tiny block of butter which remained a block to the end! Garlic naan was $5 a piece. Ridiculous! Felt store bought. Dal makhani also felt like Kroger bought which was reheated and served. Overall horrible experience! Not worth the name, not worth the quality, not worth the price & not worth your time. If you are a vegetarian, and looking for a vegetarian restaurant, do yourself a favour and skip this one and go to simply south! Congrats in successfully ruining the name!!! read more

WARNING: The owner does not seem to be truthful. I ate at Bikanerwala in Irving, TX today.  Along with food we also got 1/2 lb Bengali sweets that we liked.  Food was good, no complaints. After eating sweets and food, I went to the front desk looking for some other sweets. Talked to a person named Vijay who said he is the Chef and also owner of the place.  I asked him if the motichoor laddoo they sell is made of Desi ghee and not other oil/ghee used in preparation.  He said they only use desi ghee for all their sweets.  So I bought half a lb of that.  Once I opened the box, it smelled weird.  Usually that smell comes when the food is cooked in Canola oil and is kept for quite a while.  I tasted it and right away I figured he lied.  It was not made with Desi Ghee.   I went to the store and asked him to take it back and that this is not made with Desi Ghee.He took it back after some heated argument, but then said he will charge me for one piece.   half lb, total 6 pieces, I paid around $9.  and he said he will charge me for one piece at a price of $3.49 plus tax (totaling around $3.90).   Now this is bad customer service.  Especially coming from the owner.  You need to realize that you lied to customers and if they complain about that you need to listen with the right attitude and not argue.  I do not care about the money I lost, they should avoid lying to customers.  There is a lot of rush in the restaurant anyway and you should not need to lie to sell stuff.  Just tell the truth. read more

Not worth the money honestly!! And will not return or recommend anyone else. The chaats , specially aloo tikki chaat in a small quarter plate was a disappointment for $10. The aloo paratha appeared to reheated , it's possible it was frozen paratha. I hope the mgmt will improve things. read more

I was concerned whether I was setting myself up for disappointment given the low rating, but I was very happy with the food at this location. I am North Indian and thought that this Bikanerwala rivaled those in India. We went all out and had the chole bhature, paneer tikka, paneer pakoda, dahi puri, vada pav, aloo tikki with chole, ras malai, kulfi with falooda, and gulab jamun. Absolutely loved the chole bhature (best in the US to date) and the paneer tikka and pakoda. The desserts were great too. The only dish that was "just good" was the aloo tikki with chole. read more
