A good place to go to for South Indian cuisine, with affordable pricing. But the service and food delivery is really bad. The service is poor at the Irving branch and need to call and wait for a minimum of 5 minutes to order. The service can be improved.

Saravana Bhavan has been an all time favorite of people who like Indian vegetarian food. The chain has made its presence known all over the world. The Irving location was pretty crowded for a Sunday afternoon. We ordered some food which was delivered promptly and the quality was pretty good. They are not super expensive. If you are looking for casual indian vegetarian food, I recommend this place.

Their dosas are very good. Mango lassis are the best and idly is perfect. Waiters are all nice and have good customer service. I'd recommend coming earlier in the day on weekends as they can get seriously busy, fast.

This place is really good for their South Indian dishes. We tried a few different things from their plain uttapam, veg uttapam, masala dosa, mysore masala dosa, idli, mysore bonda, and coffee. Everything was excellent! They were quick in taking our orders and bringing out the food. They definitely need to do a better job of keeping their restrooms clean since it is a family friendly restaurant and there were quite a few kids there. The restaurant, however, is quite clean.

Had idly and dosa. Was served immediately so I think they were prepared beforehand. So they got cold. Taste was okay.

I love visiting Dallas exclusively bc of all the amazing Indian and Mediterranean food. Saravanaa is a well oiled machine and we were in and out if there in 20 mins once seated. Food came out almost immediately and was delish as always. It's always busy but they move fast so give it a shot!

Came here on a busy Sunday, but we were quickly seated. My friend and I ordered the cheese masala dosa and the thali of the day. The dosa was tasty and made well, but the chutneys accompanying it didn't have much flavor. I'm the thali, I enjoyed the desert a lot. The remaining items were simple and good dishes. Overall the food and service were just ok. I don't think I'd come back for a second visit.

Saravanaa Bhavan is a vegetarian lovers paradise! They have a premium selection and extensive variety of dishes. The ample portions will leave you feeling full and satisfied. Everything our group had was delicious! If you only try 1 or 2 things get the Paneer Butter Cheese Masala Dosa & Channa Batura. Trust me you won't regret it. Whether you're a carnivore or vegetarian, I would definitely recommend you try this spot if you're in the area.

Came with high anticipation of good food but I didn't really like the kothu parotta although the idli/vada and masala dosa were decent. The service was quick and place was clean.

Great food and even better sambhar. They are not stingy with giving more sambhar or chutney like other South Indian restaurants. Their chole bhature is a must try!!

We ordered the butter chicken and the Goat Rarah, and unfortunately, both fell a bit flat for us. They were just okay, we've definitely had better. The butter chicken leaned more tomato-forward than expected, which wasn't my favorite. The tandoori naan was excellent, though, and my husband did enjoy the Reshmi Seekh Kebab. Our waiter was kind and attentive, which we appreciated. Overall, this visit felt like a miss food-wise, but I'd genuinely love to hear what dishes others recommend because I really want to give this place another shot!

We ordered the papdi chaat, which had great chutneys but a small portion. For the main, chicken saag and paneer butter masala were ordered. The paneer butter masala isn't how it was described: "Paneer cubes simmered in a smooth tomato and butter gravy, finished with dried fenugreek." The gravy was chunky and not buttery like the sauce that's described. The paneer was a little hard. Although I did not eat the saag chicken, it was enjoyed. The restaurant became busy around 7:30 PM on a Saturday evening, and we had a 7:00 PM reservation.

I haven't had vada pav sliders before but the filling is kind of like fried samosa filling without the dough. It's good. The serving size of the biryani was very impressive. You can see from the photo that they fill the container and then add another mound of rice on top of that - basically 2 servings (we took one home). And they didn't skimp on the chicken either! The chicken is cooked perfectly, the sauces are a great complement and this is an excellent dish. The Lunch Thali gives you a lot of bang for your buck and mine included ~5 pieces of fish fry, about the same amount of veg pakora, yogurt dip, chicken curry with rice, 2 different soups, a naan/tortilla thing, and a carrot dessert (like a halwa). All had good flavor and the soups have a nice spicy kick to them. However, since all the dishes for the thali come off the lunch line (ie all premade), the tortilla, fish and pakoras had been sitting out for awhile and not too hot. Had they come out fresh from the fryer, I might have given this experience 5 stars. As it stands, I'll probably be back for lunch anyways - and the thali is available 7 days a week!

The wait time was around 15 mins. The restaurant looked like it is well maintained and the bathroom looked maintained which is nice as they do reflect on any and every establishment. The dining area looked as if they set up for a buffet/family style meals, and there are about 3 tables for outdoor dining. This time I went a bit all out and ordered the butter chicken momo, creamy Sichuan momo, tandoori momo, steamed momo, and the Delhi masala momo. Honestly, this visit was way better. Last time the biggest issue was the sauce, it just wasn't enough and everything felt pretty dry, but this time they really fixed that and the sauces actually showed up, which made a huge difference. Everything tasted solid overall, though it really depends on what you like since the flavors are pretty different across the menu. The momo wrappers are on the thicker side, so if you're someone who prefers a thinner skin, just keep that in mind because that was the case with all the ones I tried. My favorite ended up being the tandoori momo, even though it was a bit salty, the flavor was really good. I usually don't go for butter chicken momo, but that one surprised me, it was actually a hit and everyone at the table liked it. The Delhi masala momo was vegetarian and still packed with flavor, and the creamy Sichuan momo was also pretty good. The place was pretty busy when we went, but the service was quick, so overall this time it felt like a much better experience.
