Love this nail salon. The owners know you by name after the second time you've been there and it feels very personal. They do great jobs on my gels every time and have a smooth system in place to get you in and out as fast as possible even during rush times. I really have mixed experiences here at Nail Studio & Spa. I don't understand how the service can vary so much. Sometimes I have five star service and other times it's more like one or two star service. The uncertainty with the unexpected is what resulted with the generous three star rating. I used to frequent Nail Studio & Spa regularly about two years ago when they were under different ownership. Now they appear to be owned by one of the employees under the different ownership. Sorry, that's confusing. Anyways, she is very friendly but either needs more employees or to run a tighter ship. I decided to go back to Nail Studio & Spa after swearing off wasting money on getting my nails done but I needed to look somewhat presentable for a trip and my nails were pretty terrible. I ended up getting a gelish manicure with french tips. No complaints, everything went well. I then decided I needed a pedicure after I got back from my trip because I walked and walked and walked some more and my feet were terrible. After opting for the deluxe pedicure, the young man told me oh they aren't that bad. Okay, let me be the judge of that. As he was massaging, he was watching the television that's in the pedicure room... Very unprofessional. I was also trying to read and he kept trying to make conversation with me. Some initial conversation would have been great but once I pull out my book, it's inappropriate to keep the conversation going, particularly if it's unrelated to my nails! To make matters worse, I wanted to get the gelish taken off my nails and get a clear coat. Seriously, I was waiting for over 30 minutes and ended up just getting the gelish off my nails... Didn't have the time to spend all night there, ridiculous. Clearly the service here varies and can be seen by the variety of reviews. This place is AMAZING! The inside feels so luxurious and the staff is just hilarious! I called about a month ahead asking if I could get 10 girls in before my cousin's wedding and I was honestly expecting them to tell me they couldn't. They told me they did have the day open, and they were so helpful with getting us all organized before hand. They even keep the place open later for these kinds of parties. When the day finally came they let us bring in our own snacks and drinks! They really pampered our bride and we all had the best time! Not to mention, they did an incredible job! The only reason I am not giving it five stars is becuase of how long it took. I had a 4:45 appointment and despite crowds was taken exactly at that time. I came in for a Gel polish and a pedicure. I was amazed at how quickly they did the french manicure gel polish and how well it turned out. Right after the nail polish, I was escorted to a pedicure chair. I was given a choice of beverage (pop, water, etc) and a cup of grapes. The massage chairs were amazing. They almost made me forget just how long I was waiting for a pedicure. I say almost because it was about 45 minutes before they actually started my pedicure. I had planned on getting the deluxe pedicure which included some additional features but because of the long wait I no longer had time. Another positive is that there are a variety of lotion scents and brands to choose from for your pedicure. That was a nice touch and unique to this salon. Overall, I was quite pleased and thought the prices were very reasonable. I just wish I didn't have to wait so long for my pedicure. My new favorite place to get my nails done! I walked in and was immediately greeted by an employee. He directed me to sign in and asked what I was looking to do. The employees are very attentive. They make sure they know your first name and acknowledge you by that. I only came in to do a gel manicure. The first employee was extremely attentive to my cuticles. I was very glad to see that because I feel like a lot of places slack when it comes to the cuticles. She actually spent a lot of time on them and I'm really grateful for that. They have so many color options but some of the employees are very helpful and trust in them!! They know what you're looking for and do their best to comply. Another employee painted my nails. Although I picked out a color, he confirmed with me to make sure it was the color I was looking for and I was glad because the color I originally picked out wasn't what I wanted and he kept trying to ask what I was looking for to find the perfect color for me. I've never had a nail technician take the time to file out uneven spots and repaint them to perfection, which shows that these employees care a lot about their work. Each time I come there is ALWAYS some kind of issue with the way my nails are done. Just to get an idea, the last time I came here I paid $95 for acrylics and a pedicure and they couldn't even get the simple color of BLACK correct. They gave me a very dark purple gel on my acrylics and black for my toes. For a $95 job you'd expect them to at least get the colors right especially if it is black. Today I came in for a full set. The woman doing my nails got up in the middle of it and told me she was taking a break, which has never happened to me in any other salon before (I've been getting my nails done for over 9 years). When she came back she noticed she messed up the acrylic powder on my left thumb and proceeded to tell me it was my fault and I hit it, then she didn't try to fix it. When she started putting on the gel she told me the corner of the nail she messed up was bad, tried to fix it with more powder then didn't correct the shape of it so it's now a different shape from the right thumb, clearly not the ballerina shape I asked for. When she was finished putting on the gel she started to file the nails again and cut my pinky underneath the nail. She charged me $55 and when I asked why it was that much the reason was: $25 for acrylics $20 for gel and apparently an extra $10 for the "shape/length" (which is stated no where on their prices). I have been to salons where I paid $30 for a full set with gel and the quality of nails were 20 times better than the quality at this place. If I'm paying $55, the shape of the nails should be at least somewhat similar to what I asked for or similar to the rest of the nails. I've been here a few times over the past years and I keep giving them the benefit of the doubt but after this experience I will never come here again. If you're looking to get you're nails done, get your skin filed down and get ripped off this is the place to go! read more

I wanted to just get a pedicure because my polish was chipping since it's been awhile. I am not from this area so I used yelp to find a good place. This place is really nice. I was thrown off by the amount of staff and space. Everything was clean and they even use fresh sterile tools to manicure your feet. The pricing was a little high from what I am use to, but I wanted to try a deluxe pedicure. everything was great, the staff even offers you a beverage when you are waiting and plenty of candy. I went there for my sister in laws wedding and it was a mess. She was told that they would stop taking clients after 6 so we would just have the bridal party in the salon. Thus didnt happen. There was wall to wall people in the salon. We couldn't all get our nails and ties done together because of this. They drinks and food that we were told we could bring had no place to go because of so many people. Acrylic Fill with Gel Manicure, I had gone to this location 5 days ago and got my nails done. The gel polish over acrylic nails chipped within 48 hours. (This usually lasts me 4 weeks). I then had gone back a day later to get them fixed and the people could not have been nicer, fixing it for free. However, 24 hours later the gel polish came off two different nails again. I will not be going back there after spending $50 on nails lasting one day and now have to go spend more money to get me nails fixed somewhere else. This is the most verbally aggressive nail salon I've ever been to. It started out fine. We walked in and signed in and then went towards the back so my friend could soak off her nail color. When she was done we were told to pick out our colors. The strips of nail colors were scotch taped to a board so you couldn't pick them up and see how they would look with your skin tone. Nevertheless we picked our colors, but in listening to the staff talk to other customers, I was doubtful that the colors we picked would actually be the ones we ended up with. Any time someone picked a color the woman who I assume was the owner would tell her staff "oh yea pick (such and such). It's a nicer color and close to the one on the board." When I pick a color, I expect to get the color I pick, not the color they think is close. If they don't actually have those colors then they shouldn't be on the board. Fast forward to my actual manicure, it didn't fill the whole nail and the color they gave me was DEFINITELY NOT the one I picked from the board. But listening to what they said to other clients was worse. An African American woman picked a color and the owner said "No! That glitter! That's ugly! Don't you want rose gold instead? I'll get the rose gold and show you!" When shown the rose gold the woman still didn't want it and wanted her original color. "But all the women of color love this one! All the black women like this color!" was what the owner said. The woman next to me wanted a silver base color and glitter over it. Her nail person kept telling her how ugly the combination was and showing her other options. When a customer comes in to a nail salon and they think it looks good, just give them what they want! This is a very posh nail studio. I went with a friend on a Saturday last month and we got appointments as walk-ins right away. Having NEVER gone through with booking a nail appointment, I can securely admit that my first pedi as an adult was a beautiful experience. The owner made sure to greet us right away and check on us while we were there. The massage chairs feel like heaven and the nail techs were very professional with us, offering amenities like magazines and beverages. This nail shop doesn't even deserve 1 star but that's the lowest I can give. I came here as a first time customer. I don't normally get acrylic nails but my nails were broken down pretty low and so I asked for a full acrylic set, I explained to the owner that I would like it really thin because I planned to do gel polish on top which would add to the thickness and she understood. After soaking off my old gel polish I was seated with a young male nail tech who I'm assuming didn't understand English well because the owner explained to him what I wanted. He began by putting on tips, I asked 3 times to cut them shorter after telling him I'd like a squoval shape. After the 3rd time he grew frustrated with me and said "I can't do almond if they're that short" I said " I asked for squoval" the owner then had to explain to him what I meant by that. He proceeded to get ready to apply the acrylic powder, I asked him to push up and cut my cuticles first, to which he asked "oh so you want manicure" I said "yes please" he said "I do that after acrylic". I questioned why you would clean up a nail bed after applying acrylic since that would then leave a gap and was basically told by the owner he will take care of it afterwards and dismissed me. He began applying acrylic and I asked him to make it a little thinner. He then started getting very aggressive with the filing and sanding tool on me like he was taking his frustration out on my hands. That's when he began to clearly talk sh*t about me to the owner in whatever language they were speaking. The owner then from across the room told me I needed to just allow him to finish what he was doing the way he was doing it because she already explained to him how I wanted my nails done!!! Then she proceeded to say because if I didn't allow him to concentrate then he would stop doing my nails and she would need to find a different nail tech and said the nails might look bad. I sat there stunned for a minute.....insinuating that me, a paying customer paying for a service shouldn't be allowed to specify how I'd like my nails done especially dealing with a brand new tech who has never worked on my nails. So he continued, the owner walked over a little while later and tried to smooth things over and justify herself. I said " I'm really sorry, but I'm paying for a service and since I've never been here I was trying to politely tell him what I like my nails to look like, I didn't think he'd get all in a tizzy over it." He made my nails literally look like chicklet gum pieces, they are so thick and hideous. I'm so unhappy, but I still left this tech a $17 tip on top of the $80 charge, because I know that's how they make their living. He never even thanked me, even after I said thank you. He stood there silent and waited for me to sign my credit card receipt. After getting my nails done for the last 25 years, I've never had a experience quite like this. I will never be back!!! I immediately went to another nail shop and asked if there was anyway they could do to make them thinner without having to redo them, this other nail tech could NOT believe my nails were a fresh NEW set! She was stunned at how terrible they look and because she felt so bad she tried fixing them and didn't even charge me. Okay job on the nails were not worth it for the wait and the sub-par service. This location could really benefit in business due to being in a busy Niagra Falls Blvd shopping center. They are infamous for their long waits regardless of what time of day thy go. When I went just recently, the gentleman doing my manicure stopped in between for 5 minutes at a time to text message or look at something on his phone. He then stopped in the middle of it without explanation and had someone else take over. Unfortunately she seems to have a bit of an attitude and got very frustrated with me when I accidentally bumped one o my nails. Most people go for a mani of pedi for the propose of treating themselves and getting a little relaxation. Sadly, I don't feel either. The only place I will go to get my nails done! Birdy and Vito, who are the owners, are some of the nicest and most hilarious people I've ever met and they are there 24/7 from open to close. Every time I walk in, they immediately say hi and greet me by name. That is very impressive considering they are packed at all hours of the day, any day of the week, and remember almost every single one of their customer's names. The entire staff is actually very personable and makes an effort to make convo, unlike other nail studios I've been to. They just moved into their new location behind Trader Joes and it is beautiful and much larger of a space than their previous location. It is also very clean, which is something that I look for. They have at least 10 pedicure chairs and a ton of stations for manicures. Additionally, they have a separate room for waxing. Birdy and Vito are the only ones who apply the gel polish, and although this may require you waiting a little bit longer, it's something I appreciate. This allows for consistency and perfection 100% of the time. My gel manicures never chip and last me at least 2-3 weeks. The prices are on par with every other nail studio in the area. But what sets them apart from every where else (besides the amazing job that they do) is their customer service and friendliness. Along with greeting you by name, they immediately offer you a beverage and a snack. I went in a couple of weeks ago before Christmas and they were giving out to all of their customers regular size bottles of their hand massaging lotion that they use as Christmas gift/thank you. They even gave me an extra one to bring home to my mom, whom they also remember by name. I cannot say enough good things about Nail Studio & Spa and have had so many great experiences where they have been more than accommodating and even stayed past close to finish my nails. Nail studio and spa never disappoints! I just recently moved to Buffalo and after trying out a few places around the area, I found this gem. It hides behind the Trader Joe's, not to be confused with another nail salon in the neighboring plaza. They are super friendly and the owner (at least I think she is) makes a special effort to ask and always REMEMBER your name. The ambience is great, it really is a place you can come and relax. In terms of nails, they have always done a good job. I like my acrylics shaped a very specific way and every technician here has been able to get it right. Additionally, they never rush and always make sure to give you the best service even if they have to stay a little past closing time. The prices are also decent, especially for fills. Calling this place a spa is a stretch -- it still smells like chemicals and has cheesy palm trees for decor -- but it is definitely a bit nicer than your typical wham-bam-thank-you-ma'am mall nail salon. It's therefore a few bucks more expensive, but I thought it was worth it. The massage chairs are big and comfy, the staff is friendly, and they offer free sodas or bottled water to every customer (a nice touch). Another nice thing: they were able to accommodate me as a walk-in easily. I did have to wait a while for someone to come along, but at least they put me in a massage chair with a hot foot bath and a magazine while I did so. One thing I didn't like: the pop music blaring from the back room. If you really want to relax, bring your own tunes -- and noise-canceling headphones. This was a lifesaver. If you can, ask for Thinh (Tin), who hooked me up with a lovely pedi (with extra-long calf massage) and did my brows in two seconds flat. This place is awesome!!! I walked in without an appointment on a Friday and was seen right away. It's always busy here. I can see why. They have wine and refreshments available, and the most comfortable massage chairs. A lady brought me a warming shoulder wrap to enjoy while I soaked. I had a very relaxing pedicure, and they do meticulous work. The only thing I wish was different, is that they had their colors more spread out to see the selection. I've found Nail Studio & Spa to be one of the most reliable nail places in the area. It's always clean. The staff are communicative and friendly. There are small things that distinguish it as being a bit nicer than the typical experience. For one thing, there are always fresh flowers. I'm always offered something to drink and a hot pack for my shoulders. And the bowls of fun size candy in the drying area are actually a really sweet gesture. I love that the manicure bowls have fresh citrus fruit and never look worn or battered. It's really the little things that make the place special. I've been having my brows done here regularly for about a year and every waxer I've had is great. The gel manicure is pricey, but worth it. Not every place does these well, but its always 100% on here. The staff are sweet and fun. Since management changed over a year or so ago, everyone seems more relaxed and happy while still doing an awesome job. There are a few tiny things that stop me from giving 5 stars. For one thing, there are so many TVs and for the most part they are not playing for the sake of patrons. I've been in when a scary movie was playing. That's not a very relaxing experience. The last time I was in it was an episode or two of Cops. So obviously, it could be better selected. There are also two TVs showing what I suppose are meant to be relaxing pictures, but they are selected pretty poorly. One shot is a waterfall, the next is an anime woman with angel wings, the next is dark red lips... like it needed to be filled out and someone got bored of the job. I've been coming to this place on and off since they first opened and have always had a pleasant experience. I don't come frequently only because I do what I can to avoid this overcrowded and stressful shopping center. I usually only get the basics: pedicure, manicure, sometimes gel nails. I cannot speak to their other services. This isn't the kind of place you can expect to walk into and be seen immediately. However, Sunday afternoons they are walk-in only--they don't take appointments. My favorite is the deluxe spa. It's so soothing and relaxing. They use a variety of products that exfoliate and soothe and top it off with a hot towel. They ask you to pick a lotion and a polish when you walk in. They even give you a lot. I always see a different person and have always enjoyed the service, cleanliness, attention to detail, environment, and efficiency. I deduct one star only because I hate the location and my feet weren't scrubbed as hard as other places normally scrub. read more

We were able to get an early morning "private party" appointment - it was nice they were able to accommodate the 5 of us so we could all get our manis/pedis together. That being said....the appointment was at 9, we were there at 9 but there were not enough manicurists to assist us (some showed up 10 to 20 minutes late). So some of us were being helped while 2 others were just waiting. A big thing for me is cleanliness and this place is very clean! The manicurists are friendly but sometimes I feel like they are yelling at me which can be uncomfortable. If you come during a busy time expect to wait a LONG time. Overall I like the Nail Studio & Spa - I just don't love it. It's a good (clean) place to get your nails done. read more
